Supernatural story follows two brothers (Sam and Dean Winchester) who are out to kill every evil thing in this world. When Dean was 4 yrs old and Sam only 6 months old; their mother (Mary) was killed, their father (John) was determined to find and kill the demon who killed his wife. Raising the boys as "HUNTERS" of all things evil. Their motto: SAVING PEOPLE, HUNTING THINGS, THE FAMILY BUSINESS. After John's death the boys continue the family business with the help of a few other hunters and Supernatural allies like the angel of the lord Castiel and king Crowley, traveling cross country, killing as many monsters as possible and saving as many people as they can. And at the same time they learn that "Family don't end with blood". They will do whatever it takes to save each other and their "FAMILY". Going up against demons, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, Bellhounds, Leviathans, Djinns, Ghouls, demigods, witches, Wraiths, Ghosts, Wendigos, spirits, Changelings, Jefferson Starships, Clowns, Scarecrow, the four horsemen, angels and even Archangels like Lucifer, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael among other things. They lose family and find new people they call family. They have gone to heaven for each other and will do it all over again. Cause that's what FAMILY does and "Family don't end with blood". Follow the adventures of the awesome Dean Winchester and Sam Winchester who lost his shoe and is deathly afraid of clowns, on their journey to avert the next apocalypse and save the world. The first 5 seasons were absolute perfection. I do love some of the later seasons, but the first 5 were the most consistent and jaw dropping
I 100% agree, the first 5 were like 10/10 seasons imo, but you can really tell that they were originally planning in ending the show after the 5th season. Like you said, some of the stuff after is good, but nothing was ever as good as seasons 1-5. Not even close really, imo of course. Still, overall I love this show!

The first 5 were tight and had their own theme. The other seasons after just kinda did their own thing and it felt like they just tied things together as they went along

@@ilikenougat8892 well if we are talking about being iconic. I say only 1st blade can rival the colt to some degree. Otherwise the other weapons though powerful but not iconic. Arcangle blade used for 2 kills only equaliser for 1. Very less run time and development. While the colt it was from season 1 to the time cass killed that lady prince of hell. Also 1st blade was pretty iconic as well just because of its seer concept and its connection to dean, mark of cain, lucifer and sister of god.
I wish michael's spear had some more use cuz i like spears but anyway

The single most badass scene in the whole series. Jensen totally sold the hatred that Dean had towards Azazel.

That number is probably larger now. At the time that was stated it was probably the 4 archangels and God. Unless there were categories. So God, Archangels, Death and two others. But since then a lot has been added to the lore. Knights of hell, nephilim, the darkness ect. Even the empty from this season is almost certainly immune.
Already happened by Crowley , he smited alot of angel blades (When the angels fell and caused that angel war on earth in s7 whem Sam release the devil) Only races that got kill were Demons and Angels. Plus humans but humans are weak compared to both races
God I remember the first Vampire episode. Sam and Dean didn’t even know they were real until John told them. Gonna have to binge the entire show again before season 15

Honestly, there's a lot of 'monsters' on this show who really....weren't that bad. Sure, they killed some people, but most of them had it coming.

Back in 1835, When Halley comet was overhead, the same night the men at the Alamo died, Samuel Colt made a gun, a special gun. He made it for a hunter like us, just on horseback. Story goes he made 13 bullets and the hunter used half dozen of them before he disappeared along with the gun. Somehow Daniel got his hands on it. They say- They say this gun can kill anything.
Back then when yellow eyes was the big boss! And we all thought he was impossible to beat
Okay but like can we just talk about how scary their dad was during the vampire kill? Like he had super dead eyes and his smile is bone chilling. An amazing actor, you could just tell his character loved the feeling of cold blooded murder because he saw the vampires as nothing more than vermin.

Pretty wild when you know the whole story. When John was telling them about the hunter who showed up on horseback in 1835 and disappeared with the Colt, that hunter was Sam.

8:43 is my favorite scene of ALL TIME from SPN. Yes, out of all 300+ episodes and 15 seasons this is my all-time favorite moment.

Have you noticed how Dean gets the most boss kills? I think the writers did this on purpose and balanced it out with the fact that Sam is 90 percent the main point in any big plan by huge monsters? Like Lucifer and Yellow Eyes?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Colt is the only man made "kill almost anything" weapon (no I'm not counting the demon killing knife because it can only kill demons). Every other weapon the category are divine or primordial in some way.

In the secret journals of Samuel Colt it is revealed that he created the colt out of a fragment of the fiery serpent and a bone splinter of David. Former he required from a rogue member of the men of letter, the later he won in a game of chess against the Alpha Vampire. The bullets were forged from a sacred cross that were forged from the original handle of Excalibur. Excalibur was created out of the broken pieces of an angel blade found in an ancient tomb and the bones of Michaels (supposed) first Vessel (Enoch the righteous).
Samuel Colt speculated that the reason why some of the bullets kill faster or have different visual effects then others, is because of the different components in the individual original bullets. He had not just a limited amount of metal from the sacred cross (enough for 13 bullets), but the essential ingredient, the angel blade material, was not distributed consistently within the cross.
Thus he describes in his journals how the Colts first kill (an ordinary wendigo) was fighting for almost 20 seconds before succumbing, while the final monster he ever reportedly killed on Christmas Eve 1909 (the Alpha Dragon) dropped dead within three heart beats.

I thought of it and i realized the perfect ending. I think amara should have crossed god and consumed him instead. Going onna rampage and dean getting killed stopping her from becoming the new god of darkness.

Back then it was like a gods send but now.. Just make bullets out of an angle blade and boom any weapon can be the colt! Crowley did it first!
Not quite. I'd wager that the Colt is a more powerful weapon than an angel blade or bullets made from them. An angel blade from what we've seen so far is only capable of killing other angels that are not archangels and demons. I'd be willing to bet that it could also kill run of the mill monsters but not the alphas or the leviathans. If there are only 5 things in creation that the gun can't kill and we know Lucifer is one of them then it's safe to say that 4 of the 5 in creation are the archangels. Since Death is also a part of creation I'd say that the 5th spot in occupied by him/her. If I'm right, this would mean that the Colt can kill any monster, angel (aside from the archangels), and demon.

@@tommoore2012 God counts because of a technicality, because somewhere in the Bible it’s stated that God is all of creation, therefore he would be one of the five things. Amara and the Empty would also have to count, because otherwise it makes no sense. That means the five things are the archangels, Death, God, Amara, and the Empty, which then means no monster is actually capable of surviving being shot with the Colt. While yes that shouldn’t be the case, that means that the baseline level of cosmic power needed to be considered one of the five things in creation is at least being an Archangel, because everything else listed is considerably far above the necessary power requirement.

Heck, the literal first sentence is: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.” Also I’m not entirely sure why you’re trying to bring the Bible into this because Supernatural differed from what the Bible says A LOT.

I get that it wasn’t a kill, but when they shot lucifer, there was a pentagram on his head where the bullet entered, and idk why they didn’t use that effect more often. It was so cool!
Either way I still think it's a great series and I watch the reruns every chance I get.

Despite how many creative ways one can kill an angels and demons now, the colt is still pretty powerful. Only 5 things in creation it cannot harm, that means everything else is fair game, and there are plenty enough where the colt would be the most valuable weapon to have.
One theory I came up with is that Colt probably melted some archangel blades (the blades that is capable of killing archangels, but need to be held by another archangel to do so.) to make the gun and the bullets. So it wasn't powerful enough to kill Archangels or the so called "only 5 things on earth the gun cannot kill" but it still was able to kill angels, Princes of hell, alpha vampire, phoenix, and so.
The bullets were made using pieces of ordinary angel blades, however the five things that it cannot kill are the archangels, God, the Darkness, Death, and the Leviathan. If you shoot something that isn’t one of those entities, the Colt will kill it.

Lucifer himself said that the Colt kill all but five beings, and he(an Archangel) happens to be one of them.
I rly wonder what 5 beings that would be. If Lucifer is one of them because hes an archangel, then this should be true for the others (Raphael, Michael and Gabriel) aswell. Thats one being left. Jack wasnt yet alive so hes not one of them. The most obvious would be god. But then what about Amara? The colt shouldnt work on her either. She might not be "angelic" (lets say as in a good source of power like god and the angels) but she draws power of the exact opposite she survived the angel blast from heaven, which means she shouldnt get harmed by the colt. And while shes being trapped shes technically still alive and Lucifer knows about her.

I thought another epic colt moment was when Dean kills Lucifer with it in season 5 episode 10 i think but i guess because he didnt die its not considered a kill. I was happy tho that the plan was done right and he got shoot Lucifer in the head with it.

Killing that vampire from season 2 was one of the most well made scenes
The moment I clicked on the video I was like "if Azazel wasn't number 1 I'll be pissed" and you didn't let me down. I do think they colt got over used in later seasons. It was a lot more interesting in that original "13 bullets is all you get" concept it made it something the boys had to use sparingly for an enemy they really needed to put down for good. Adding the ability to just create more bullets as they needed was a cop out. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it should have been worthless after season 2 but making the ritual require a rare nearly unique component or a very complex and dangerous process would have kept the gun cooler then "oh we'll just cast a spell and make more bullets". Still love the show, not saying I hate the colt just how I think it could have been better used then becoming just one more weapon the guys kept in the car (look for example how they handled the grenade launcher that was how to do it, it was cool, they kept referencing it but they waited for just the right moment to whip it out).

To this day I still feel bad for the Phoenix guy. All he wanted was to live with his wife and be left alone.. but wound up in a situation with her getting murdered and when he tries to get revenge he gets killed for it. He was a monster but I don't think he was a bad guy..
