- Always surprising & never boring, if you think you don't like Alexei Sayle, you probably haven't watched him - so give him try!
His 'Stuff' series seems widely available, but not this, so here's a chance to see him, I think in very good form.
Enjoy! Приколы
I’ve just listened to another episode of Alexei’s Imaginary Sandwich Shop….Your still the man Alexei! Your TV shows were genius.
8:12 In a 1990s comedy show, Peter Capaldi playing a time traveller
Stroke of genius to have an uncredited Shane Rimmer voice one of the puppet pilots, being as he provided the voice of Scott Tracy in Gerry Anderson’s Thunderbirds. 😊
If I had my life to live over again, I'd definately watch this episode again
After I'd smelled the flowers and killed the BeeGees.
Have loved Alexei Sayle since I used to stay up late to watch the reruns of The Young ones on MTV when I was 13
I often feel he was seriously underrated. A comedic genius with a great way with the English language . His books are good too. Wish he would return on the comedy circuit
He did a tour a couple of years ago. The guy's like 70 now so can't expect him to keep touring
@@Solaar_Punk yes sadly I forget how old people now are , including myself !
It's all so true. 😥
And Blakey from on the buses What a cast.
When?
I noticed Jenny Aguter, Peter Capaldi and Jim Carter!
Blakey is selling gags to the warm up man!

Thanks.
How, the HELL, is this the first time Ive watched this?? Its classic English comedy... wow, in the 21st century I cant find anything I like, and Im still digging up things that are great from the 90s!!! Thanks for faxing this video, I shall keep it right next to my sextant.
+Stan Dando Glad you enjoyed it. As you say 'English', I'm presuming you're not from the UK, so here are some more recommendations of vintage comedy you might not know, some of which are on YT. Victoria Wood (sadly lost just this week), French & Saunders, Fry & Laurie, Hi De Hi, Waiting For God, Some Mothers Do Ave Em, Girls On Top, Kenny Everett, Yes Minister & Alan Partridge, I think that's enough to get you started ;-)
There isnt anything like the alexi sayle show im afraid, nothing that fantastic but have you seen these?
Father ted.
The comic book presents.
Bottom.
Dangerous brothers.
Let them eat cake.
Ripping yarns.
Jabberwocky.
Some are from the 80's, I think they were uploaded to you tube by telegram or semaphore.
+hanbaal What about The Young Ones???? Tell him about The Young Ones.
That's a good list! Although it's The Comic STRIP Presents
Check out Absolutely, Chewing the Fat, Burniston, Limmys show, Still Game.
"...I'm not homophobic but I've slept with a man who is." That is a BRILLIANT gag. Love it.
“The day after the atomic bomb exploded in Nagasaki they still had a better bus service than in London under the Tories!”
Oh, thanks. Will be watching all of these when time permits. 👍
Edit. A great start.
Made me laugh out loud - today, and it's 2021.
Funny, is funny, doesn't matter when 😁.
Co written by Arthur Matthews and Graham Linehan, the writers of Father Ted.
I saw Alexei doing stand up at Lancaster University many many years ago, he was brilliant and the way he dealt with a heckler was amazing. I have lots of respect for him, a true knowledgeable talented man, amazingly funny.
Capaldi as the Doctor could have Alexei as his new companion after Clara leaves. If they're this good at travelling in time, then they need to work together on Doctor Who. And can you imagine how funny Doctor Who could be with Sayle on board?
I was just about to sit down and eat dinner , when I got the sudden urge to watch Alexi Sayle . So this popped up I laughed like a drain , dinner was nicer with Alexi .
My word, is that Jenny Agutter? And Peter Capaldi too, quite a cast!
My all time time favourite episode from the All New series!
I have both series on VHS recorded from TV, hopefully i'll dig them out one day.
This is absolute CLASS. Thanks for posting
Genius;.......absolute genius.
One of the THE most original and inherently funny people on the planet - if you haven't been to his sandwich bar in Liverpool you absolutely need to check it out it does the best corned beef soup you will ever have.
Completely forgot about those 'Bobby Chariot' bits. "How yah diddling...bloody sod yeh then!" Class! :)
Havent seen this for years. I always loved his comedy.
The prop department nailed the paparazzi camera exactly
In the good ol' days when there was a 'proper' props dept. ;-)
michael ........take your nose off....this snatched my soul....lmao
This is great. First time watching his show. I'm from Florida so we had shit like Who's The Boss, and The Cosby Show
For a second I thought I was watching good TV again.
I love Alexei so much. Thank you so much for posting this. He's such a character.
Funny as hell. Real talent.
Sooner or later I knew they'd be up. Thanks a million and keep em coming.
"I'm not homophobic but I've slept with a bloke who is..."
Our lad from Anfield
What a shithole Anfield
Still as funny, clever and origional after all this time. Genius.
I haven't seen this since it was originally shown. It's still really good.
Classic Alexei Sayle at his finest...
Thank you...
Genius. Absolutely genius. Funnier now than it was in the 80s
The Paul Daniels sketch is classic!!!! Well bloody sod ya then..
Ha ha ha Puppets flying the plane!!!! And Bill and Ben at Main Control! Ha ha ha ha
+Caroline Lynch blob blob blob?
home james!!
This is brilliant. Forgotten just how good this series was,
8:40 Doctor Who! Alexei Sayle, original and fantastic
Brilliant...I'm back in comedy heaven
I loved alexei in this, fantastic
Alexei Sayle was hilarious on The Young Ones x
Alexei, come back, TV needs you.
I love the opening, very Laverne and Shirley.
With a dash of Mary Tyler Moore.
There's no comedians around today whom can be as funny as this guy.
there are no comedians today period that are funny thank god for the legends like him
A really young Peter Capaldi (hardly reconizable apart from his voice and accent) was in the Drunk In Time sketch, a time traveler before Doctor Who, tee hee hee
Lord Rassilon And a young Jenny Agutter as well.
And Stephen Lewis who played Alf, also played Blake on On The Buses.
nighs un e form, hate yooo butlers...
Prince Feanor Starshine he’s doing a scouse accent
Did the narrator call Malcom Tucker english ?
Peter Capaldi!
In the Drunk in time segment. Anticipating his role in Doctor Who.
One of the funniest ever. He just has the gift.
The reporter guy was so funny
The bike shop is so 2021.these guys can tell the future.
Still, a public house riding a horse, is extremely funny for it originality. Plus the song in the background, wonderful.
Ahead of its time.😄
I understand you're being complimentary, but it wasn't ahead of its time, it was perfectly reflective of 80' & 90's alternative UK comedy. Comedy has unfortunately devolved since then, mainly due to offense culture, so anything pre 2000 is the zenith of comedy, today's comedy is just a joke.
He was brilliant back in the day, one of the best comedians during the 90's.....Your turnips have arrived Mt Saunderson!!
He lives in a very exclusive part of London in a rather grand house...miles and miles away from Liverpool. Keep it real.
"Life's a big banana sandwich." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
7:27 Jim Carter (Downton Abbey butler) in blue shirt playing Rasputin.
Others are Peter Capaldi & James Dreyfus
Mildly amusing....the laugh track drove me over the edge.
20:12 I love Bobby Chariot, perhaps his best creation.
"If this car was a horse... It would be a jam donut with an egg inside it!"
How did this slip through the net... First time I have even heard of it... 26 years after the event ?
I must have been trying to impress a girlfriend's parents or something? 🤔🇬🇧
Holy shit. Sayle's stuff still really holds up. Why isn't it repeated more on TV?
The Paul Daniels bit 😂
Hehehe
Love this 😀 ❤ 😍 💖
When he's hit by the van....... Pure magic.
Wow. Jenny Agutter. xx Gorgeous.
with her clothes on...
You need to watch the film - American werewolf in London
"It's Alan Bleasdale!"
How is this chap boring? Alexei is a trip!!
F*ckin Mad, I love it ..... Loyk.
The Nagasaki v Tory bus service gag got me.
Brilliant
It's still funny, C'mon Alexei make a comeback
All right_ Bobby Chariot here. I'm on pills for me nerrrrrvvvves. 😅
Early showing of Peter Capaldi there in the Drunk in Time sketch.
I showed my kids "ullo Jon gotta new motor" they looked st it in disbelief.
True scouse accent. Love him .nut job ;))) keeps tropical fish down his underpants
god I laughed until I wept over the Marquis of Granby sketch.
Love the puppet pilots @ 1:00
The first sketch is like something from a Thomas Ligotti short story without the uplifting, life affirming elements.
I could never figure out if my old boss looked more like Alexi Sayle or Wolf from Escape From Alcatraz
I'd watch the hell out of a series about an 18th century crime fighting pub! Better than a lot of the crap on these days.
noted
Class
Carlisle was apparently in the national consciousness in the 90s... Fast forward thirty years and it generally only gets mentioned on TV as a pointless answer on 'Pointless'
Jenny Agutter looking stunning 🥰
4:32 LOL
Early James Dreyfuss as well....blimey
Surely there was a spin-off series about Bobby Chariot waiting for Alexei to write it...? Perhaps Jimmy Tarbuck would have sued.....
0:33 Actually he's a good dancer.
I like to laugh :0
Marquis of granby was famous for helping former poor serviceman to open public houses.
Who then named it after him.
Alexei has a RUclips channel now folks.
Peter Capaldi doing a crackin scouse accent. Loved this show.
hes not I am a scouser so I should know
@@paulmcdonough1093 yeah I know.
Alexi Sayle for President !!!!!!
Thank God
Never buy tandoori prawns from a car boot sale...
Shit myself when I heard that, but it might have had something to do with the prawns.
Billy Brag an Jon Peel?
i like it its funi. funi all the wa thru. wochin it ruined my riting tho.
I'm not homophobic, but the bloke I slept with was... Made me laugh there... And a scouse impersonating Peter Capaldi too... Jenny Agutter in the same skit... High production values indeed ;)
Production values - this is from the good ol' days, when it was all done in house at the BBC & not farmed out to this & that production company, very sad!!
15:43 I was once too slow to hold the lift for black Yorkshire comedian Charlie Williams in a rush for his stage appearance in the early-1970s. "Oh I'll have to use the stairs now!' and off he dashed. I was just too surprised by a celebrity needing my assistance to react: I froze. I wasn't prejudiced! I',m not against Yorkshiremen! I WOULD have helped if I wasn't an overwhelmed new teenager at the face from television talking to me in my budgie jacket! It's not my fault, Charlie!
There you go. Doctor Who, travelling through time yet again. (go to about 9m in)
I liked him Young Ones.
coke a co la
he played brain damage
Peter Capaldi is Drunk in Time!
