For some reason they ruined Andy and almost ruined Jim. They made Jim a terrible boss, when he was Co manager with Micheal, and everyone hated him. If they made him cheat, they would have completely ruined one of their best characters. I imagine most people will hate him for cheating on Pam.

It's so amazing to me that John Krasinski wanted to play Jim cheating on Pam but the writers didn't think it was consistent with Jim's character so they had him murdered and replaced with the first AI generated replacement. If you look really closely, sonetimes you can tell It's fake Jim.
You notice how the end of the episode she gets very concerned for him. And she wonders why Jim would not admit it. Even if Cathy was more attractive it didn't change the fact that he married her and they are happy.

I realize she is dealing with insecurities because of her pregnancy, but insisting that Jim is attracted to Cathy to the point of having him sit through a makeshift lie detecting test was really too much. I hated that character so much. It was so refreshing of John Krasinski to stand up for Jim and not let them make him cheat. Real life sux enough, escapism should be aspirational.
I felt like all the characters lost their realism after Michael left and they talked to each other like theatre kids acting. Which is insane because Michael was the most unrealistic character in the show.

However, adding this whole Jim wanting to start up his sports-writing career, and Pam's overconfidence in their marriage just felt too much. I didn't really have sympathy for either character, and the reconciliation between the two of them felt incredibly forced. I especially felt that John and Jenna's acting was so hammy when they were arguing on the phone after their daughter's ballet recital. To make matters worse, the writers then had to make Darryl really unlikable by the end of the series, and have him insist that Pam and Jim move to Austin, Texas, even though by this point, Jim is clearly happy, especially with Dwight finally becoming manager. I also felt Pam was getting too much screen time as well, which normally would have been fine, but not with her unlikable personality in the last season.

@kalvin187douglas He can find her attractive, but that doesn't mean that he personally is attracted to her. There is nothing wrong with complimenting a person, and it can be done without a personal connection. This is why he says objectively attractive.
