    thank you for showing and sharing how you bake your pureni ,i was shown by my mom how to steam the pureni but your way is quicker is to bake it im from cook islander,i still follow my moms tradition,however time for change....meitaki maata,,,

      Pauline Kata I opted for 'steamed’ rather than baked option by using the simple 'pot in water on stove’ method then slow steam on low to medium heat for approx 45mins to an hour. You get the best result out of steaming , my purini was soft to the touch, nicely moist with just the right texture. Although I must admit, in addition to this recipe, I added 1/2 a cup of olive oil ( or vegetable oil) and two eggs. These are optional of course but it worked for me.
