I actually had this for the first time last week. Couldn't stop eating it! Delicious! Soooo moist, sweet and alittle chewy. Yummy! Thank you for sharing the recipe!! I am a new subscriber. Glad I found you!! ☺
Excellent recipe and easy, what most people don't know is the exquisite flavor of cassava. I grew up in the Caribbean and my mom used to cook cassava for dinner and used to buy cassava candy wrapped in plantain leaf and also cassava flat bread. Thank you, what a beautiful dessert.
My mother always brought this home to us as a treat on Saturdays from the market. I didn't realize how easy it is to prepare. God rest her soul. Thanks for sharing.
I'd been making cassava cake but I always bake it in the oven. Never tried the steam one. Your delicious looking thumbnail made me click the video and I think I'll try your style of cooking the cassava cake next time. You've taken the toppings to the next level, very eye-catching and yummylicious looking!
This was how my father used to do make. We did not have an oven, that was when nobody seemed to even know or liked cassava. Glad to know there is still somebody who appreciates the way it was originally made. And personally, I like it better.
Mahilig din akong mag luto... very memorable sa akin sng kamoteng kahoy nuon...isa yan sa hsnapbuhay ng magulang ko. Gumawa ng suman sa loob ng 3 dekada..masarap yan
Thanks for the recipe and for showing how to process the kamoteng kahoy. Also, I have to say, your background music is actually very pleasant and I didn’t have to mute the sound. And I’m glad you cooked with sugnod. That’s how it was in my childhood. Glad I discovered your channel.
Awesome ! We do exactly the same in Fiji . We have a variation though for a dessert called qalu or vakalolo where we mix equal amounts of grated cassava and mashed ripe bananas and some sugar. It is then baked then cut up in edible squares. We then make thick syrup from melted brown sugar and thick coconut cream. This is chilled then the cassava banana pieces are coated with the syrup and ya ready to eat !!!!
We have a different dessert here which the main ingredient is banana, the dessert is called nilupak, the banana is first boiled and then peeled and mashed with butter or margarine and condensed milk using large mortar and pestle. After mixing all three ingredients, you can then put grated cheese on top. And it's done! Cassava is sometimes use as main ingredient in some provinces.
First time to try cooking this recipe and my family loves it!Thank you for sharing your recipe to us.God bless uou more and continue sharing your talent to us!
In Trinidad we would add grated dried coconut to this to make pone. Some ppl add a little piece of pumpkin too. Along with spices, especially some black pepper to bring out great flavour.

We have one similar to this. We call it cassava pone in Trinidad. But we also would add grated coconut, pumpkin, and sweet potato as well. And also a little bit of ground black pepper. It's nice and sweet a nd chewy with just a little bit of heat. Love it.
Last weekend I held a party and it was all the guests' favourite dessert. Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe. In Mosman everyone knows you now. :)

It is lovley
Same thing we do in Barbados, except we call ours Cassava Pone.
Cassava pone in Trini as well
In Suriname too! We're calling it " bojo"
Tastes just as good without, just using coconut and sugar
