- This is a special request of a viewer. She ask me to do a cassava cake. This is how I do this dessert. I hope you will like it because everytime I cook this, it is very much appreciated. Come on let's cook.
Hi, I am Mang Peps, a former chef of a famous restaurant here in Metro Manila. Been a chef for more than half of my life. Now that I retired from cooking, I am unfolding these recipies and sharing it with all of you. Enjoy💖
List of ingredients
4 cups grated cassava (1 kg raw)
2 cups coconut cream (kakang gata)
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 can condensed milk
1 big can evaporated milk
3 eggs
2 tbsps melted butter
Bake for 45 minutes @ 180⁰ celcius oven temperature
Toppings
3/4 cup coconut cream (kakang gata)
3/4 can condensed milk
2 eggyolk
Grated cheese
Bake for 20 minutes
180⁰ celcius oven temperature
Baking pan size is 26cmx24cmx4cm
This serves 15 to 20 peaple

@Adelwisa - what size baking pan did you use and how many ?
@@wrestlingexcellence2590 i just used the regular baking pan na nabibili sa Dollar Tree if you are here in the US. I think any baking pan will do kasi you have to check it with a toothpick if it's already cook. Sometime I used pyrex and lines it with banana leaves. Adjust lang sa baking time. I just add some 2-3 min more for broiling to brown the topping.

"Thank you ho" for the recipe, i just made it earlier, my husband is not a Pilipino but he love it, i cut 1/2 cup of sugar as i am doing most of the time with cakes and cookies and did'nt put toppings because i made a big pan to freeze some of them!

Mix in a bowl
4 cups grated cassava, 2 cups coconut milk, 1 1/2 cup sugar, 1 can condensed milk, 1 can evaporated milk, 3 eggs beaten, 2 tablespoons melted butter.
Transfer mixture into greased baking dish and bake for 45 to 1 hour in a 355degrees Fahrenheit or 180 celsius oven.
Once cooked pour topping mixture (Mix 3/4 kakang Gata, 2 egg yolks, 3/4 can condensed milk) and topped with grated cheese. Bake for 15- 20 minutes .
Saan po ang init ng Oven, taas or sa baba or both?
Ano pong size ng condendensed milk and evap milk?

Thanks for sharing! by the way, why did you need to remove some juices from the grated cassava (some nutrients are in there!) and then later on added other liquid / wet ingredients?
To give some space for the liquids that we need to put. The coconut milk and the milk.
Cassava juice causes bitter taste (in some instances).

Cassava cake
4 cups grated cassava cake or 2 packs of 16 ounces cassava packs
2 cups coconut milk
1 can condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
3 eggs beaten
2 tbsp. melted butter
mixed well all ingredients
transfer to baking pan brushed with butter
bake for 45 mins to 1 hour at 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degree Celsius
Topping mix apply after 45 minutes of baking
2 egg yolks beaten mixed with ¾ coconut milk
apply on cassava cake-grated cheese on top bake for another 15 to 20 minutes till it is brown

Needs coconut strings , and vanilla extract- I’m told by my Filipino friends I make the best cassava cake - and I’m not Filipino. Yours is way, way too sweet , and you don’t need the butter. This is heart attack on a plate .

nag tried po ako super duper sarap..kaya medyo.matamis.pwede po bwasan ang white sugar.kahit 1/2 cup lang kc may cond.naman po at evap.favorite ko po cassava cake..sarap talaga.I love it❤️
