Don’t ever try to get policygenius to give you a homeowners insurance policy if you have a small woodworking business. Went through all the rigmarole and the kids with me without warning two months into our new policy.
Huge fan! Watch your videos every Saturday. You are one of the reasons I started getting into fine woodworking a few years back. If you’re ever in the Central Florida area and need anything, let me know
I haven't even gotten into the video yet but i am impressed by your need to entertain us that you willingly injure yourself. Sorry it happened but Thanks for your commitment!
Thanks for letting people know about O’Keeffes Working Hands!!!!! It’s my mother-in-law’s company that she started and developed herself to help her dad who was a rancher in Southern Oregon and always had cracked hands/fingers.
Still waiting on your bourbon review! You did a video on different scotches and promised a bourbon review. Not a big fan of scotch… love the videos man have a good holiday season.
The cubitron link goes to Soms children’s poetry books. I guess I could read the poems while sanding but that wasn’t quite what I had in mind when I clicked it.
I'm not sure if it's a problem on my end or not, but that link for the Cubitron Sandpaper seems to go to a site selling children's art classes, not sandpaper.
Thank you for this video, it's awesome! Those plungers are a staple in the screen printing industry because they're used to dispense screen washing fluid. There's also another product similar to Okeeffe's out there called Bag Balm that works incredibly well. It's most notably used to lubricate cows' udders because they crack, and get injured from being milked. I used to use it when I was training to become a brick mason because mud will suck all the moisture from your hands.
Great ideas. The tape dispensers sound like a good idea but they leave a serrated edge which can be problematic for double sided tape. You didn't mention that the Pica Dry pencil leads come in a variety of colors. I bought it with a pack of white leads which I use exclusively on dark woods.
Good morning from South Texas! Your videos are always a part of my Saturday morning routine. When you don’t drop one…I always feel like my weekends are incomplete. (I guess you deserve breaks too!) Thank you for your database of knowledge with all things woodworking. Keep ‘those videos coming. Make it a great weekend!
Fairly useless fact- lead has never been used in pencils. Grafite may of been known as poor man's lead in Wales. Lead was in the paint on the wood in the old day's, which is where people got lead poisoning from, when chewing on the pencil.
I'm surprised policy genius insures you with the way you throw yourself around :D If you like the trditional flat carpenters pencil, there's a mechanical version, it's called 'striker' ;)
I love my Jim Green Stockman slip on boots for ranch work around the homestead, but they are fully made in South Africa from South Africa parts. I live in the USA, so maybe I should try Nick's Boots that you mention at 11:11 to see how they compare. Jim Green's are only $160 however. Good, handmade boots.
The 3m paper is awesome and worth every penny. I have some on my sander and today when I went to do some sanding I pulled it back see what grit it was and the numbers were worn off but the paper was still good. I’ll be using a sharpie going forward. That paper not only last, it cuts extremely well cutting your sanding time down.
Great episode. But, I will caution people about using and storing Acetone. It should ONLY be stored in a sealed container. Acetone vapors are heavy and will spread along the floor. The slightest spark will ignite the vapor which burns with an almost invisible dull blue flame. You feel the extreme heat before you see the fire. So, I would be cautious about using Acetone in a plunger can. I know many welding shops use acetone that way but it is very dangerous.
3:03 I have a 20 year old Benchmade and I've never needed a 2nd knife. (Also, they made an amazing mini Keychain sharpener years ago, and it is unbelievably awesome. It had two different sets of ceramic rods as well as a set of diamond rods. Best of all, they were $10. But alas, they are no more 😢
Not that it matters what I say but times I want to read others comments on products. Benchmade knife mini (OZZY) Osborne knife is bad ass. Use them for hunting. Durable and stay sharp. Okeefs I use cause I work with chemicals primarily phosphate remover and shit drugs your hands like soaking them in Lyme. Okeef’s is literally the only thing that works get rid of the razor blade cuts from cracking. Stuffs amazing. I know my hands are starting to dry out I rock the okeefes. Good shit. He’s completely right on electric branding iron. I bought a super cool old school branding iron you gotta heat and there’s no way of knowing if it’s too hot or not. It sucks. Get an electric. Save your self the headaches of sanding out mistakes, or trying to figure out how many presses before you can brand a clean one. Just get an electric and save your self the time and headaches
I don't like those pencils ... they are fine for construction work but for fine work the lead can't make it 6 inches without getting dull and fat ... rather deal with a 0.7mm lead snapping on occasion than guessing +- 2mm over a line
O’keefes working hands does NOT work for everyone…. I have eczema on my hands and the urea (yes, that is the active ingredient and it is what you think it is) aggravates it and makes it WAY worse. I tried it but had to quit using it because my hands were burning.
Not to keen on Nicks boots. Ordered a pair, 600$, took 7 months, wore them for 6 months and the started to fall apart. The front and rear of the sole on 1 boot is splitting from the boot. Emailed and called but they said it was normal wear. 250$ to re sole.
You have done your famous entrance so often that it no longer looks accidental or dangerous. You've gotten pretty dang smooth doing it. Keep doing it, I like it.
O'Keefe for feet endorsement: I had an allergic reaction to the chemical my landlord used to clean the carpet. I walked around barefoot and my feet started to Crack and bleed! O'Keefe healed my feet in a couple of days.
O'Keeffe's (which you have misspelled in the comments) is the best. I am surprised more RUclips woodworkers don't talk about dry hands and what lotions they use to combat the dryness. Working with wood dries out my hands something fierce. Keep up the good work!
Buy a genuine victorinox knife I’m 64 my dad gave me one when I was 16 it’s only ever required sharpening twice in all that time and I carry it everyday and use it most days
Literally bought my 5 year old a roll of painters tape for his birthday because he loves doing the same thing… plus it kept him away from my blue tape in my shop lol
Darn you, now I'm adding yet another pencil to the toolbox! BTW, I purchased my first Benchmade about 12 years ago and have never looked back. Great recommendation and they are made in the good ol USA! (I have a 940 sitting in my pocket as I type.)
Just to follow up on your new instructions. Once you add both pairs and enter the code, it works. Thanks for following up on the promo offer. Order has been placed.
About 3 years ago I finally bought a Benchmade knife. The Osborne 940. Wanted one for years, but couldn't afford one. Great knife, and love the S30V blade steel. Another great brand is CJRB, and I have a couple of theirs because I love button lock knives. A bit easier to close the blade than the axis lock ones like the 940. Now, about the PICA pencil. I must be the only one on Earth that can't stand that thing. I seriously do not understand the draw. The lead isn't dense enough, the sharpener is twitchy and hard to use. Nothing about it is appealing. YMMV.
Jason, I put your video on the TV this morning so my wife could watch and maybe get a hint or two for Xmas. Instead, she was crying at your bourbon skit when you were the elf. Hey here is one to put on your list to try....Down Home, made by Whiskey Thief. I have about 125 different flavors on my bourbon bar, and it is among my favorites. Love your videos
As someone who used to use biscuit joiners all the time, I finally tried the Festool Domino a few years ago and haven't looked back. In my opinion, it is one of the best tools ever made and I'm using it right now making a crib for my newest granddaughter. Save up and buy the right tool for the right purpose...you won't regret it.
The RUclips gurus say that the biscuit helps with alignment, but doesn't make the joint stronger. The Domino does both. I use a Dowelmax jig which is expensive for a doweling jig, but also adds strength and helps with alignment at a much lower price than the Domino.
@@1packatakyou can buy acetone in plastic dispenser bottles so it doesn't eat the plastic. I have one for many years, pass down from my wife's nail polish remover.
Part of the reason your hands are cracking is the use of acetone without gloves. Sure, the hands stuff works, but it's better for your overall health to wear gloves when you use that stuff. ... Trust me...
Love the channel. My new must have tool is the Bourbon Moth stop block. Just got it today and it's perfect. I put it on my 3" Rockler miter fence and it is far superior to Rockler's own stop block. Looks cooler too. I'll be getting another one for the right side fence. 👍 PS...I'm not sponsored by this channel... unfortunately 😒

With the Pica pencil didn't you notice the graphite is a bit too soft?
Huge fan! Watch your videos every Saturday. You are one of the reasons I started getting into fine woodworking a few years back.
If you’re ever in the Central Florida area and need anything, let me know
I like Corn Huskers Lotion. Put it on before and after woodworking sessions. It doesn't leech in and stain wood like some others.
I need to build a fishing rod holder with some tackle storage. And id like it to look nice enough to put in my living room.
On a previous episode you made a mention of a Caulk you really liked using, because it never shrank and had great elasticity.
I love the tape !! I did the same thing as a kid taped everything
We need an entire episode with the Elf!
Well, now I cant send this to that guy in the office. He'd know you're talking about him!
How about a Rye recommendation?
That Festool 150 sander is over $600 in Canada, ouch! I'll get some of that hand cream for a stocking stuffer though. Benchmade knife looks sweet too!
Great ideas and thank you for sharing!
Forward... Love your videos!
Where do get your flannels?
I wonder when you guys will discover the 0.7 mm 'Rotring' pencil...
I like bourbon recommendations, but have you tried Blue Run?
Cera V
glad i didn't get attacked by a bear today(:
I can carry a sword where i live. I thought about geting a sword cane when my knees get worse
Do you make your own plans?
Who makes your plans?
Respect for all you do.
Laphroaig...that is all.

I’m off! Ketchup doesn’t belong on hotdogs, you 4 year old!

Thanks. Your cubitron
sandpaper iink is wrong
It’s not even thanksgiving yet 💀
Your discount code for the isotunes isn't working on the site. Is it too soon to use?
Experiencing this as well.
Not working for me either.

Obligatory "Where's the air stream?" "What about the cider?"
😂 Morning Jason!
Any chance you can get the isotunes code to work?

Woah. I’ve never heard anything so sad.
Drunk elf Jason needs his own RUclips channel
Drunk elf is how we know it's the Holidays
That was a big dollop of O'keefes! 😂 a little goes a long wayyy!
You damn near sacrificed your leg during intro. What dedication...you are thr man!!!
Merely a scratch
i have Okeifs, my knuckles became super dry and cracked one year, completely healed in just a week with their cream
The ISOtunes code looks to be working. Make sure you have both sets of earbuds in your cart for the discount to apply.

Cubitron ... He was the most abrasive Autobot .... he kept rubbing Optimus Prime the wrong way
That's funny, I have a small plastic acetone pump dispenser just like that, but for fingernail polish removal.
I wonder which one came first...
I need someone to make hats saying “Go football”.

This is a sealed can which is specifically designed to store acetone! 😂
Acetone evaporates extremely fast.
I have this plunger can and stopped putting Acetone in it because even in this can it evaporates VERY quickly
Then in goes boom and then me and my brotherhood are called to put the fire out
Your link to the sandpaper takes me to an art page
Including early elementary art, no less! 😉
Yep. Same here!
Haha yeah it dose.

O'Keefes is great but Duke Cannon Bloody Knuckles works better for me. My hands are cracked year round from working production.

Good $60 bottle of bourbon - Wild Turkey Rare Breed. If you haven't tried it already, you should, imho,
If you wanna come build something in central KY, I can take you anywhere you want to go on the bourbon trail. I have hookups at several distilleries.

Get a Buck 112 and you can cut concrete without dulling the blade and it’s 1/10 the price of a Benchmade
Literally bought my 5 year old a roll of painters tape for his birthday because he loves doing the same thing… plus it kept him away from my blue tape in my shop lol
Working Hands is as amazing as Jason describes.
@bourbonmoth the real question is who makes your velcro sanding block?
My “Go Football” stocking cap has always been awesome. But these might be better
Darn you, now I'm adding yet another pencil to the toolbox! BTW, I purchased my first Benchmade about 12 years ago and have never looked back. Great recommendation and they are made in the good ol USA! (I have a 940 sitting in my pocket as I type.)
The link for the Cubitron does not open to that AT ALL. It opens to masterpiece society, elementary school art courses!
How do you like that Makita floor robot vacuum thing that I saw in the background?
I am guessing the coupon for the Isotunes does not apply to Canada. I went through your link, entered the code but it came back invalid
Didn't work in the US either
It might? We had an issues right off the bat. Try it again.
Now it says ‘does not apply to that product”.

I didn’t realize the pencil had a sharpener in the cap. I thought the pencil was too fat but the sharpener changes things
Please make the book club with online access for your international audience ;-)
I AAAaaaaalmost past on this video, until I saw the whiskey bottles.
I fold end of tape over and stick it to itself so you always got the end easily accessible. Only downside is you loose that quarter inch every time
"I use a lot of acetone" also "I have a lot of dry hands idk why" hahah hmmm....
If you didn’t own a Festool Domino, would you own a biscuit joiner? Recommendations are all over the place on RUclips.
They serve entirely different purposes
As someone who used to use biscuit joiners all the time, I finally tried the Festool Domino a few years ago and haven't looked back. @@The_Ol_Bizzaroo the gurus are correct
That acetone dispenser is basically an XXL version of what you see in the nail salon. I love it.
And doctor’s office. Although I wonder if the acetone would destroy the plastic bottles and needs the metal one.
@@1packatakyou can buy acetone in plastic dispenser bottles so it doesn't eat the plastic. I have one for many years, pass down from my wife's nail polish remover.
These are used for Blanket Wash in print shops
Pica dry is the best move I made for marking
The 3m paper is great if u have the right dust extraction and sanding large flat surfacing. But u hit and edge and the grit is gone
The ISO tunes code doesn't work outside the US which is a pain
I went to check out the boots and it was blocked for malware. Not good.
Australian: True Lime costs more per packet than a true lime :(
Is that a Bourbon Moth flannel shirt? I don’t see it in the shop…..
So as someone that lives in a state that allows auto knives… what was the auto knife model?
