It's a shame like it's studio, didn't keep going on. This was an excellent game idea, and was one of those games I found to be very well written for it's storyline, despite following one or two cliche tropes.
Aidan Keogh well yeah but it felt more of a kick to the nuts I mean a kid who is literally in coma dreams this up fine whatever but when you process all of this you realize 1 the main villan is probably death trying to drain color from a boys conscious or claim his soul for him to die SPOILERS 2 the hero is probably the boys conscious in other words a effort to keep the boy alive 3 the girl with half a dark face is his sister who loses half her face to a car crash 3 the mayor dies just like the boys father wish game theory would explain dis but I seriously doubt it
@@dreambreakerremixfactoryof6160 i think the storie is more wilfre was scared of death so he tried everything to stay alive even if the boy must die in the process. You learn that in the end part of the game
Man, I was so young when I played this...it was all so happy and cartoony, and then the ending rolls by, and you learns that it's all been a kids dream in a coma. The whole "it was a dream" thing always leaves a bad taste in the mouth, but that just kind of hit my like a sack of bricks. I was devastated by that ending. It was lovely, but so hard to swallow.
This is honestly exactly how I feel about it. I remember hating the ending for a while as it just felt really sad and unsatisfying, but all these years later I've come to appreciate it, as it is rather well executed for such a cliche, and perhaps that is why it stands out so much in my mind.
@@zacharymabb4873 But if he continues to sleep, he will die in his coma. And their world ends. Better to wake him and save one life than to let him die and save none.
This game is amazing. I remember playing when i was so young. I went back to play it today and as soon as I heard its music I started crying my eyes out. This game holds so many memories for me and I will always cherish the game forever. 😭
I know. This was the first game to bring me even close to tears (crying was such an ugly thing to me back then). My brother got the collection and I tried to play it, but the memories were still too strong. I can't really touch it without getting so emotional from that ending. Man...... That ending....... 😟

Aw man, this intro was perfect! Amazing music, nice animation, yet not a single word spoken. That music at the end gets me so hyped up for the what's to come. Thanks for the upload.
If you think about it, there’s no good guy or a bad guy in this game. And by what people have been saying, the creator is the bad guy, but I don’t think that’s the case. To me, Wilfre and the Creator are like two forces trying to triumph one another. Wilfre wanted to save the Raposa, which prevents Mike from waking up from his coma and the Creator wanted to wake up Mike from his coma, which causes everyone to cease to exist in his dream. They’re both essentially like nature vs technology. But hey, that’s just me, maybe I’m wrong.
Uh... the one in the final game is different! In this one, there are no credits, the color is not lost, it's less blurry and the animation is a lot smoother. "KidWithKeyboard" is also credited in the game's end credits (though most people don't pay attention to the names in the end credits, due to the on screen events). We have another beta element!
Same here, played it when I was five and I managed to beat almost all the boss battles. Go back to it I recommend, just finished the game yesterday and damn the ending got me so fucked up but it's such a great game...
Just realised that this is the heather's story in one cutscene. She is happy but then her parents die (jowee and mari) because of a car crash (Wilfre). Wilfre gets heather as well but doesn't kill her only injured her (bandaged face) and she wakes up to find mike (in this case jowee) asleep and does her best to save him.
Why did the end of this game have to be so sad. They should have had another scene where Mike falls asleep at home, and every time he falls asleep now, he visits the Raposa world. And every time he dreams, it is continued.
This game was not safe for 8 year old me. Especially with that ending. Hell, they even had to take it out because it was too dark for children. Nevertheless one of my favorite games.
The opening foreshadows the events of the game, thought it never explained how the life of Mike was in danger. The ending comes out of nowhere and really hits the player.
Got my first nintendo ds along with this game for Christmas when i was 9, this so nostalgic for me ten years later.. literally the best handheld video game ive ever played can’t believe i never got to finish beating it
It was close to my first game and it still remains one of my favorites to this day. I still love all of the characters and the story is surprisingly deep for a kids game! I honestly have so much respect for the team behind these games, they're actually what made me want to make video games when I'm older!
Skitty Cecil yeah now I remember, he disguises himself as that guy that the hero finds. I'm actually replaying the first game then I'm gonna go to the second game. It really needs some sort of anime or manga, it is such a great game!
Urushihara Hanzo Wilfre was actually planning on saving the world, as it was all a dream by a character called Mike, and once Mike woke up from his coma, the world would end, so Wilfre kept the world drained of color as long as possible to delay Mike's waking up, the protagonist actually ends up ending the world
After playing the first game, seeing this intro for the first time was a true visual treat. Revisiting the characters and the village you grew attached to before the sequel was just... AGHHAHGHGAHG. There's no word to describe it, other than GLORIOUS.
Do they ever explain Heather's necklace in the first game? I've only played this one and I guessing there's some stuff I missed by not playing the original game.
