That sad moment when you love a franchise with a near nonexistent fanbase so you just sit in a rocking chair clutching Nintendo DS game cases and stare off into the sunset with tears streaming down your face
8 years ago when I was 12, I played the crap out of this game and remember being devastated but also impressed with the gritty credits. I sold the game cuz I thought $5 was a big deal at the time. I bought it again a year ago to relive the magic. When I beat the game I was trolled! I didn’t know that newer copies of chapter 2 changed the credit visuals to a more “kid friendly” (crappy) ending that totally ruined part of the reason I bought the game. I then sold that copy cuz I was so mad!
There are kids stuff that are as meaningful as adult things, just because something is for kids doesn't mean it has to be dumb, there's millions of kids smarter & more mature than adults(in commemt sections you see it every day)there are adult things that are dumb, older doesn't means smarter, education & experience come at any age, these are facts
@@KasaiBuru also fun to think wilfre was alive and knew that if the boy waked up he would disappear. So it was either the little boy wake up an wilfre dies or the little boy stay in coma and he can live, and that's why he fight us, because he is afraid and don't want to disapear
I agree. It's such a great game with the perfect amount of feels and happiness, and it makes you feel like you're a part of the game, it embraces creativity more than anything else, yet it's so under rated.

alex limon Sorry, I just want as many people to see this as possible (Again Xd) this song is also from Mari's point of view. Some Heather and some Mari.
Years Ago I Beat This Game, It Was One Of The First Game I've Beaten with the final boss battle is depressing enough, it makes you feel like there's no hope, Then when you beat Him, You Feel Amazing, Then The Game Hits you with really depressing end credits about a car crash And Makes You Cry Coming back to this song 3 years later i still get sad and on the verge of tears
when I first saw the trailer for drawn to life I got super excited so I asked my Father if he could buy it for me and he got it for me for Christmas and I remember that I was super happy and stuff. And as much as I tried to beat the game, I couldn't and I just quitted and 2 years later my brother got a new shiny 3ds, surprise was that it was backwards compatible with DS game so I asked him if I could use it and he lend me the 3ds. It took me a while to finish it and just before the song and credits I watched the final cut scene and thats where I started to shed tears and just after finishing the game and seeing the song and credits I immediately just broke into tears. This is just a game that created long lasting memories for me. Even if its underrated I love this and this game will be a part of my memories
Gaaah, so many feels. ;-; It's been so long since I first played this, but I still think that the story is one of the best and most heart-wrenching I've seen in any game. I remember pressing every button, hitting every inch of the screen with my stylus, trying to find SOME WAY to save the Raposa and not extinguish the Eternal Flame, but... no dice. :/ Anyways, theories. I've seen some theories on here debating on whether Mike or Heather created the world of the Raposa. Well, my theory (take it with a grain of salt) is that they BOTH had a hand in creating it. To try to stay close to her brother, Heather told the comatose Mike stories about the dolls that they had gotten from the fair ("It might not be true, but it's the best I can do") ("Lies could bring us close together, so I won't be lonely no more"). It also served as an escape for Heather, where she could make-believe her brother was okay. Maybe she even thought Mike would be better off staying "asleep" in the fantasy world she created for him, so he wouldn't have to face real life and she wouldn't have to relive her parents' death by telling Mike about the tragedy ("In make-believe he'll hide forever"). However, Heather begins to realize that this story, this world she created isn't the right way for either to cope. She knows that she needs her brother ("But my heart's alone, till he comes home"). That's when Raposa!Heather begins delivering the message "Kemi Kewa/Wake Mike." She's thwarted by Wilfre (pretty much a representation of death, let's say) who wants Mike to stay asleep forever. Heather realizes that Mike wants to make-believe that everything's okay as much as she did, and wants to remain with the Raposa. No matter how hard she tries to get through to him, it's up to Mike ("He'll make a decision, he has no choice"). However, she does still try to talk to him ("And I'll hold him close, he'll hear my voice"). Eventually, Mike begins to want to wake up to real life ("And he wants to wake up from the dream he's been in"), but is still trapped by Wilfre. I also think that the background vocals of 2:58 to 3:25 and 3:26 to 3:58 ("I'm just trying to survive, every day I realize..." or something along those lines) is from Mike's POV, about his internal struggle. Mike, through the player, finally makes significant progress in freeing himself from Wilfre ("While he's taking the steps, he's making a stand/He's pulling down walls and doing all that he can"). Mike realizes that he can't run from life anymore ("He's through with black and white and drawing the lines between make-believe and real life"). Heather first created this world for Mike (which Mike later kept fueling) out of love ("My real dreams, have real love"), but they both realize that they need to face their problems together ("This make-believe, is not enough"). Blargh, this is longer than I meant it to be. Sorry! (This is actually the condensed version, I had to cut a lot out). I hope I explained it so it's not confusing, but as it's pretty late and I'm pretty tired, I may have simply rambled unintelligibly, for which I'm doubly sorry. ^^;
I love this song. I love this game. Everything about Drawn to Life is awesome. Everyone should play it at least once. Thanks for attending my TED talk.
Most of you probably know most of this, but this is MY interpatation of the ending. Create a place through shapes and shades= Mike falls into a coma, and draws the Raposa world, he is The Creator Build a blinding stage where beauty is made: We all love The Raposa as much as they do themselves, this relates to the beauty of the village But when your colours fade= Wilfre drains the color Evreything will change= Heather losing her brother, and The Raposa losing their village, the song is about Mari and Heather's point of view I'm trying hard to imagine better= Heather tries to imagine, her little brother in a better place, which he luckily is Daydream him= Mike is in a coma, I'll wait forever= I'll wait forever, for him to wake up I'll pray that our paths blur= Heather's prayer at the beginning of the game Together= Now it's Mari's turn, saying her and Jowee together It might not be true, but it's the best I can do= Mari working with Wilfre, it might not be true, that Wilfre is right, but it's the best she can do herself It's only to keep a little piece of you= Not sure I can't keep it inside I'll have to shout it out loud, all the things I couldn't live without= Earlier on in the game, Mari calls Jowee "The Thing I couldn't live without", she can't keep quiet about leaving the village, she has to tell them and she does when they get to Wilfre's Wasteland And I'm pouring my heart, and I'm spilling my soul and I'm gasping for air, cause he's giving it all= Mari feels guilty, about hurting her friend, but Jowee is giving it all to restore color And I wanna walk out from the trouble I'm in, cause I'm really not sure where to begin= Not sure either, have a few theories but still And to fake it will make it better better then it was before= If Mari fakes, the whole Mike's Coma thingy, it'll make her life a lot easier (I think) And lies could bring us close together= Lies can make Mari and Wilfre close together, or Mari and Jowee about lying that she joined Wilfre, and he really was evil which is debatable So I won't be lonely no more= Mari will have Wilfre or Jowee depending on which one is true Pretending it doesn't matter, could help me pass the time, in Make Believe he'll hide forever= Heather's turn again. Heather came to The Raposa world, to pretend it doesn't matter, that helped her pass the time. Make believe is used a lot in this song, Make believe is The Raposa they were Mike's coma This is Real Life: The two sing together, about Real life This is Real life: Ok I'll skip that part, it's just repeating lol Paint your world full of tones: Mike drew Watersong which was full of tones, as it is musical Write the story so you know how it goes, but my heart's alone= Write The Story of dtl down, and enjoy it, but Heather is alone with nobody while Mike has The Raposa Till he comes home= Mari and Heather join in again. Until Mike comes home, Heather will be alone, and Jowee comes to Mari, Mari will be alone He'll make a decision, he'll have no choice= Mike had no choice, he had to wake up to help Heather, so he made the choice to restore colour to the world And I'll hold him close, he'll hear my voice: Heather held Mike close, and prayed to him to wake up And I'll pray we're together, forever: Heather's prayer Take a deep breath go for a walk: Mari comes back, and Jowee goes for a walk around The Turtle Rock, and Sock talks to him Wish you were here cause we got to talk: Jowee needs to talk to Mari, about what is right, in their situation I can't keep it inside I have to shout it out loud, all of the things I couldn't live without= This time it's Heather's turn to explain her point of view on this line. Mike and his family died, and soon Mike could too, so all the things she can't live without And I'm pouring my heart, and I'm spilling my soul, and I'm gasping for air, cause he's giving it all= Heather's life is horrible, without his brother, so Mike gives it his all, to wake up from the coma as The Creator And to fake it will make it better better than it was before= Heather faking in The Raposa world, that she was a Raposa, and couldn't talk And lies could bring us close together= The Lie caused Heather to be closer to Mike So I won't be lonely no more= She now has Mari, Jowee and Mike Pretending it doesn't matter could help me pass the time, in make believe he'll hide forever= We explained this earlier This is Real life= This too Xd It's time to see: The two clash together again. It's time for Jowee to see The Real Life and make the final verdict of what to do While he's making a step, he's making a stand, he's pulling down walls and doing all that he can= Jowee has made his decision to help Mike. The Hero brakes down walls of Wilfre's castle, and with Jowee he does all that he can He's through with black and white, and drawing the lines, between make believe and Real Life= He's through with Wilfre's aims, and draws the lines, between The Raposa and Real Life This is Real Life= Again My Real Dreams and Real love......= Heather has Mike, and Mari dies, so her voice is alone now Believe the things, that you can't touch= Wilfre can't touch Mike, and Heather knew Jowee, who Wilfre failed to convince to join him This make believe is not enough= A bit rude isn't it? The Raposa world is not enough, even though they saved your brother, who we don't care about? It's time to see The Real life= The Raposa are over, it's time for you me and everyone to stop with them, and see The Real Life.
theyoshifankid Firstl, if you look in the final level of Drawn to Life 2, you'll notice in one of the stained glass a hand holding a stylus. This hand seems to belong to a female, rather than a male. While I couldnt find evidence that coma patients do not have dreams, I actually found that most of them have dreams about Heaven, something which the Raposa World doesnt seem like because of all the shadow and death. Also, the entire games concept is about Drawing. Something which Heather is told to do at the start of the second game, where she is being asked questions about the car crash. Sure, the drawing may be terrible but _you_ were the one who drew it so dont blame me.
Currently 2:56 am on Monday November 11th 2019. I still want this series to get its recognition it deserves. Such an amazing series, so many memories flooding back, and this was uploaded back in 2010. I'm 20 now. God damn I feel old. Also actually looking at the lyrics this song was much deeper than I thought as a kid, now that I'm listening as an adult. Thanks for uploading this.
I remember getting this song on Christmas when I was six. I was so excited! When I beat Wilfre (It was kinda easy but a bit hard), I was surprised at the end. But at the credits, I teared up. It wasn't the song, unlike the first game. It was the story. Mike in a coma, only Heather and Mike survived while the parents died during the car ride.
Even tho it's one of the most underrated games ever, this game made me see myself repeating it multiple times just to listen to the beautiful soundtracks and to revive memories
Easy: E3 Trailer: starts with this songs, shows how Mike is now a grown up man and who he's drawling the events of the 2 previus games. Then make a quick change into a 3D gameplay (Probably a Hack-and-Slash like Devil may cry but also a plataformer like Mario) With the new hero destroying random new enemies, and a New "Wilfred" with a psychotic grimm. Then end the trailer with a "The Real Chapter" Now, let the interned burn with teories and fan speculations. Then, release the game on Swicht. Also, let the developtmen take 2 years, just in case.
The game is amazing, yes is better But scribblenauts is no bad Is the same thing with Megaman and Mighty n°9 The first game is better But your spiritual sequel is good too
When you realize that a DS game that was released a very long time ago, had the saddest yet heartwarming story that was way better told than any modern game ever it shows how you have to make a choice in life. You can decide to live a lie, or live a painful but more truthful life either way the ending made me cry big time 😭😭😭😭
When I was a young girl, I got Drawn To Life duo game with both the first and the next chapter, and I beat both of them. I was about 10 years old when I played the game, and I remember every emotion I felt when I actually realized what was going on in the end credits. As a child, it stuck with me, that a game could be so intricately written to the point you’d never know what was going on until you got to the end. 10 years later, I’m 20 years old and playing the third game on my switch. It brings back so many memories revisiting the raposa I had grown to love as a child, and the wonder of how these end credits are gonna play out makes me excited to finish the game. I feel as we grew older, the creators knew that, and knew our fanbase was small. That’s why I’m so happy that it is such a small franchise, more for those of us who played as kids to enjoy the new story that feels more advanced than the prior two. The way I see it, the world of Raposa can represent itself in all of us. Through mental health as we got older, trauma, etc. that is what makes the game so great, is that it touches on all aspects of a persons life but the person can make it cater to how they feel it resonates. Thank you for an amazing childhood, DTL.
They way I see it (and the way I've ALWAYS seen it since I first saw the ending) was that this Raposa world was all HEATHER'S doing, not Mike. She created the world and everything in it based on the toys they won at the fair, but then after the car crash, she became depressed and abandoned it for a while. Since Mike fell into a coma, Heather had to do something to keep herself from committing suicide, so she went back to watching the Raposa world, which fell into ruin thanks to her inner demons that were personified as Wilfre. She continued to draw and used this world to cope with what she went through, including the death of her parents (which could explain why Wilfre killed Mari's father in the first game). She even became one of the inhabitants of the world to try and escape from the cruelty of real life, but she couldn't help but bring her memory of Mike in as well. Eventually, she came to terms with reality and decided to permanently destroy this world of delusions for her own sake, in the hopes that Mike would wake up if she made that sacrifice. I don't understand why everyone automatically jumps to the conclusion that this was a coma dream Mike had. Perhaps if they considered other possibilities, they wouldn't think the ending was lazy or forced, because I certainly didn't.
I used, to blame Heather for the Raposa extinction, just because of her prayer. This game is so sad, I cry every time I think about this ending. Seriously, in class, lunch extc, just mention Drawn to life, and I cry a river. I'm a boy btw.
The Raposa aren't really dead. A few years ago I read a really good explanation about what really happened. I don't remember how it went exactly, and I can't seem to find it again, but if I remember correctly, it went something like this: As her inner demons, Wilfre never wanted a human to enter the Raposa world, and his fears became reality as Mike entered the Raposa world. I think Wilfre never wanted Mike to leave the Raposa World, which could be another reason why he tore apart the book of life. And When Mike woke up, the creator had to split all ties between the Raposa world and the real world, and since the creator (you) is also a human, he had to leave the Raposa behind which is why we see the Raposa disappear. So the creator no longer exist in the Raposa world except for the small part of him that exists in the hero. So to us, it looked like the Raposa vanished for good, and from the Raposa's perspective, Heather and Mike disappear. So the Raposa still exist. The human world and the Raposa world just can't coexist anymore. Again It's been a while since I read that so I don't know if I missed any details or not, but that's how I see things as well. It's all up to interpretation really so you can see this ending however you want to, but I think this is what really happened.
Wilfred didn't want him to wake up or the coma dream would end, and everyone in it would sease to exist, which is why he convinced others to help him, and they agreed because they didn't want to die. But over time they realized it was wrong to keep him here, and made the ultimate sacrifice to let him get back to his sister. Thats how I see it anyway.
I like coming here when I need to cry because it makes me feel better. As someone who's quite ill, faking it to make it better and hiding in make believe has another level of meaning. ^^'
I had the drawn to life collection (it had both games in one) and when I got to the next chapter I beat this game not even kidding more than 10 times just to hear this song. I may be only 12 but both games will always hold a dear place in my childhood.
Artist Oblivion I feel you bro. well for me actually I hooked my friends on to the game so for the last bit I did have someone to share this beautiful game with.
Good lord, I remember playing the drawn life series as a kid. Looking back on them as an adult they were just.... dang, emotional! Sure, the stories (to the games) did have their goofy and charming moments, but holy crap those endings, especially the second game's ending. Yet... here I am thinking to myself "THIS IS KIDS GAME! WHY AM I FEELING THINGS!?". Drawn to Life, your are definitely an underrated series. EDIT: I think I will go replay the games now.
when i was younger i didn't understand what the ending was about but i cried and cried and only now do i understand it was the most depressing ending of any game i will ever play and only now do i understand that they had to sacrifice themselves and nothing could help them
In the first 50 seconds of this song it goes from a nice happy little song, to a depressing song that makes you think about life and childhood and the possibility of losing someone you love. Or maybe it’s just me
If you take a deep breath, you can forget that this was part of a game. You can just think that it's a song about you and someone you care about fighting to escape reality and reunite at long last.
As someone who suffers from a deteriorating physical illness, I like to come back here and really reminiscince about this game, and what it taught me. The line about make believe being not enough, always gets me though...
I played this game over 10 years ago. I never inew until i was an adult that it was about mike and heather who got into a car crash, their parents died, and it was mike that was in a coma this whole time through both games. Wilfre was the smoke. But im not too sure on where the hero (us) comes into play. But anyway, damn. Just damn. 😢
I lost my game copy, but this game, especially the ending, changed my view of the world that I barely had as a kid. I drew a family portrait and collage because of this song. Only game that made me cry, and im thinking about buying it again.
when I was younger, about seven, I'm ten now, now about 4 years ago, I owned this game, I could never beat it and never played the original, and now, I have both games in one, and being the curious idiot I am,beat the second one first, I could barely console my tears at the end, it was a beautiful ending and I think none of us could have asked for more... it's just heartbreaking to have an adventure like that end with such fitting music, once I beat number 2 (still haven't beat the first yet) I walked downstairs and said "the feels.. the feels are real" RIP DRAWN TO LIFE, THE BEST GAME EVER
I played the first Drawn to life in elementary school. And I could never get past this one boss. I replayed the parts leading up to the boss so many times I practically know the intro by heart. Flash Forward to High school and I find a used copy of DtL: The final chapter. I had forgotten about the game and didn't know there was a sequel. So I buy the game wanting to relive the only good part about that time in my life. I get through the game easily finishing it in like a few days. AND OH MY GOD I was so thrown off by the ending. like was such a drastic turn from the cutesy game I remembered. I was on a road trip with my family at the time and after I the ending I just sorta looked up from my ds. And stared out the window of our van. I didn't cry I just felt.....empty. Not only because I finished so quickly but also because it was such a dark ending from a game I remember being so light-hearted and cheery.
Please can this game get a port to the switch?! I don’t want a new game, I love the series how it is and think it ended perfectly, but having both games on the switch where more people can love and enjoy them, I’d love that, cos this series is painfully under rated
Playing this game to the end was like trying to hold onto a dream before literally fighting yourself to let it go and live the rest of your life. I cried once a was old enough to realize.
The Raposa didn't really disappear. The creator just cut off all connection between the human world and the Raposa world. And since the creator, meaning you, is also human, It just created the illusion that the Raposa disappeared when in actuality they still exist. Since the only remains of the creator is in the hero that you play as, it would be a possibility that the hero becomes the new creator.
I really wish they'd make an anime of this game. And to be honest, as a child raised as a Christian from Kindergarten and before, I never even had a hint of this game's messages until I heard this song.
NGL I think the gameplay isn’t anything special (except for the drawing heroes and platforms and such) but OH MY GOSH the story’s great, the character/world design is phenomenal, and the music is soooo good. I love this series 😭😭😭😭😭
Im sad to say that when I beat the game I was too young to understand the ending. But now I cry everytime I watch the real ending cuz it makes me think of Grace. My lil' sister. I never even got to meet her. The second version doesn't have any effect tho. Darn you religion laws for video game development and sale. Love this song.
Yet another year later I see what you mean. Looking back I'm surprised that I missed all the references which make this game such a great allegory. Love this story more every time I play through it.
That sad moment when you love a franchise with a near nonexistent fanbase so you just sit in a rocking chair clutching Nintendo DS game cases and stare off into the sunset with tears streaming down your face

Yes! It's been my favorite game ever since I was six!
Here are the actual lyrics.
Create a place through shapes and shades
Build a blinding stage where beauty's made
But when your colors fade
Everything will change
I'm trying hard to imagine better
Daydream him, I'll wait forever
I'll pray that our paths blur together
It might not be true, but it's the best I can do
It's only to keep a little piece of you
I can't keep it inside
I'll have to shout it out loud
All of the things I couldn't live without
And I'm pouring my heart, and I'm sealing my soul
And I'm taking a breath, and he's giving his all
And I wanna walk out from the trouble I'm in
'Cause I'm really not sure where to begin
And if faking it will make it better
Better than it was before
And lies could bring us close together
So I won't be lonely no more
Pretending it doesn't matter
Could help me pass the time
Make believe he'll hide forever
This is real life
This is real life
This is real life
Oh oh oh this is real life
(Oh oh oh) It's time to see the real life
Paint your world full of tones
Write the story so you know how it goes
But my heart's alone, 'till he comes home
He'll make a decision, he'll have no choice
And I'll hold him close, he'll hear my voice
And I'll pray we're together, forever
Take a deep breath, go for a walk
I wish you were here, 'cause we've got to talk
I can't keep it inside
I have to shout it out loud
All of the things I couldn't live without
And I'm pouring my heart
And I'm sealing my soul
And I'm gasping for air
'Cause he's given it all
And he wants to wake up from the dream he's been in
And start it all over so we can really begin
And if faking it will make it better
Better than it was before
And lies could bring us close together
So I won't be lonely no more.
Pretending it doesn't matter
Could help me pass the time
Make believe he'll hide forever
This is real life
(I'm just trying to survive)
This is real life, oh
(Every day and night in real life)
This is real life, oh oh oh
(Take it one step at a time)
This is real life
(Make believe, it ain't real life)
It's time to see
While he's taking the steps and he's making a stand
He's pulling down walls and doing all that he can
He's through with black and white
And drawing the lines
Between make believe and real life
(I'm just trying to survive)
This is real life
(Every day and night, real life)
This is real life
(Take it one step at a time)
Oh oh,
This is real life
(Make believe, it ain't real life)
Oh
My real dreams
And real love
You need the things
That you can touch
This make believe
Is not enough
It's time to see
A real life
It’s “So we can really begin”
Nobody going to mention how good this song is? I beat the game 3 times just to hear it.
Mutant Llama sameeee
Pretty much did the same thing
Mutant Llama I beat it 7 time just to hear the song and to beat wilfre. lol
Mutant Llama you can buy the song in Isaacs shop
Stopped counting how often i beat it for the song. Glad that i found it on youtube some years ago... brings back memorys 😅
I only just noticed that it actually depicts Heather singing about Mike and what she'll do to have him back in conscientiousness!
This Song Always Brings A Tear To My Eye...
me too...
alex limon Sorry, I just want as many people to see this as possible (Again Xd) this song is also from Mari's point of view. Some Heather and some Mari.
Same
Light of my life must have you straight up sobbing then
Years Ago I Beat This Game, It Was One Of The First Game I've Beaten with the final boss battle is depressing enough, it makes you feel like there's no hope, Then when you beat Him, You Feel Amazing, Then The Game Hits you with really depressing end credits about a car crash And Makes You Cry Coming back to this song 3 years later i still get sad and on the verge of tears
feels
stahp
or I'll...
STAHP
I CAN'T
HOLD IT

same
Same I'm glad there's still peapole who remember this game
me too
+Lucario Lord a fan made game is being made
+Wilfre really?
when I first saw the trailer for drawn to life I got super excited so I asked my Father if he could buy it for me and he got it for me for Christmas and I remember that I was super happy and stuff. Even if its underrated I love this and this game will be a part of my memories
i read up and heared this song was unlocked by 100% the game so i played it non stop 2 days just to collect everything
then it broke the second i started a new game
Me too
All the levels 100% full of color
dude I feel bad for what happened to your game, I'm sorry
Gaaah, so many feels. ;-; It's been so long since I first played this, but I still think that the story is one of the best and most heart-wrenching I've seen in any game. I remember pressing every button, hitting every inch of the screen with my stylus, trying to find SOME WAY to save the Raposa and not extinguish the Eternal Flame, but... no dice. :/
Anyways, theories. I've seen some theories on here debating on whether Mike or Heather created the world of the Raposa. Well, my theory (take it with a grain of salt) is that they BOTH had a hand in creating it. To try to stay close to her brother, Heather told the comatose Mike stories about the dolls that they had gotten from the fair ("It might not be true, but it's the best I can do") ("Lies could bring us close together, so I won't be lonely no more"). It also served as an escape for Heather, where she could make-believe her brother was okay. Maybe she even thought Mike would be better off staying "asleep" in the fantasy world she created for him, so he wouldn't have to face real life and she wouldn't have to relive her parents' death by telling Mike about the tragedy ("In make-believe he'll hide forever").
However, Heather begins to realize that this story, this world she created isn't the right way for either to cope. She knows that she needs her brother ("But my heart's alone, till he comes home"). That's when Raposa!Heather begins delivering the message "Kemi Kewa/Wake Mike." She's thwarted by Wilfre (pretty much a representation of death, let's say) who wants Mike to stay asleep forever. Heather realizes that Mike wants to make-believe that everything's okay as much as she did, and wants to remain with the Raposa. No matter how hard she tries to get through to him, it's up to Mike ("He'll make a decision, he has no choice"). However, she does still try to talk to him ("And I'll hold him close, he'll hear my voice").
Eventually, Mike begins to want to wake up to real life ("And he wants to wake up from the dream he's been in"), but is still trapped by Wilfre. I also think that the background vocals of 2:58 to 3:25 and 3:26 to 3:58 ("I'm just trying to survive, every day I realize..." or something along those lines) is from Mike's POV, about his internal struggle. Mike, through the player, finally makes significant progress in freeing himself from Wilfre ("While he's taking the steps, he's making a stand/He's pulling down walls and doing all that he can"). Mike realizes that he can't run from life anymore ("He's through with black and white and drawing the lines between make-believe and real life").
Heather first created this world for Mike (which Mike later kept fueling) out of love ("My real dreams, have real love"), but they both realize that they need to face their problems together ("This make-believe, is not enough").
Blargh, this is longer than I meant it to be. Sorry! (This is actually the condensed version, I had to cut a lot out). I hope I explained it so it's not confusing, but as it's pretty late and I'm pretty tired, I may have simply rambled unintelligibly, for which I'm doubly sorry. ^^;
Love this theory☄
Crimson Knight Well, I've found my head-canon.
Crimson Knight Love it.
I'm not reading all that.
Love that theory
Right after you beat the strongest villain in all of video game history.....you're granted a song that will make you cry.
TheEnterestingEnderman He wasn't that strong. I actually thought he was way too easy. Still a good villain though.
Very true
Nihontendo Sure, the fight itself was pretty easy...but if the only force that can stop him is God, he MUST be pretty powerful.
Nuggetmaster1000 MOST POWERFUL? WILFRE??? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! GIYGAS, BRUH.
From the producers who saw Shrek Oh yeah, I've heard of that, but I don't know the details to that boss fight, since I've never finished Earthbound.
I'm glad people still remember the game, man wish it had continued.
I love this song.
I love this game.
Everything about Drawn to Life is awesome.
Everyone should play it at least once.
Thanks for attending my TED talk.
Too bad two realms had horrible gameplay
Most of you probably know most of this, but this is MY interpatation of the ending.
Create a place through shapes and shades= Mike falls into a coma, and draws the Raposa world, he is The Creator
Build a blinding stage where beauty is made: We all love The Raposa as much as they do themselves, this relates to the beauty of the village
But when your colours fade= Wilfre drains the color
Evreything will change= Heather losing her brother, and The Raposa losing their village, the song is about Mari and Heather's point of view
I'm trying hard to imagine better= Heather tries to imagine, her little brother in a better place, which he luckily is
Daydream him= Mike is in a coma,
I'll wait forever= I'll wait forever, for him to wake up
I'll pray that our paths blur= Heather's prayer at the beginning of the game
Together= Now it's Mari's turn, saying her and Jowee together
It might not be true, but it's the best I can do= Mari working with Wilfre, it might not be true, that Wilfre is right, but it's the best she can do herself
It's only to keep a little piece of you= Not sure
I can't keep it inside I'll have to shout it out loud, all the things I couldn't live without= Earlier on in the game, Mari calls Jowee "The Thing I couldn't live without", she can't keep quiet about leaving the village, she has to tell them and she does when they get to Wilfre's Wasteland
And I'm pouring my heart, and I'm spilling my soul and I'm gasping for air, cause he's giving it all= Mari feels guilty, about hurting her friend, but Jowee is giving it all to restore color
And I wanna walk out from the trouble I'm in, cause I'm really not sure where to begin= Not sure either, have a few theories but still
And to fake it will make it better better then it was before= If Mari fakes, the whole Mike's Coma thingy, it'll make her life a lot easier (I think)
And lies could bring us close together= Lies can make Mari and Wilfre close together, or Mari and Jowee about lying that she joined Wilfre, and he really was evil which is debatable
So I won't be lonely no more= Mari will have Wilfre or Jowee depending on which one is true
Pretending it doesn't matter, could help me pass the time, in Make Believe he'll hide forever= Heather's turn again. Heather came to The Raposa world, to pretend it doesn't matter, that helped her pass the time. Make believe is used a lot in this song, Make believe is The Raposa they were Mike's coma
This is Real Life: The two sing together, about Real life
This is Real life: Ok I'll skip that part, it's just repeating lol
Paint your world full of tones: Mike drew Watersong which was full of tones, as it is musical
Write the story so you know how it goes, but my heart's alone= Write The Story of dtl down, and enjoy it, but Heather is alone with nobody while Mike has The Raposa
Till he comes home= Mari and Heather join in again. Until Mike comes home, Heather will be alone, and Jowee comes to Mari, Mari will be alone
He'll make a decision, he'll have no choice= Mike had no choice, he had to wake up to help Heather, so he made the choice to restore colour to the world
And I'll hold him close, he'll hear my voice: Heather held Mike close, and prayed to him to wake up
And I'll pray we're together, forever: Heather's prayer
Take a deep breath go for a walk: Mari comes back, and Jowee goes for a walk around The Turtle Rock, and Sock talks to him
Wish you were here cause we got to talk: Jowee needs to talk to Mari, about what is right, in their situation
I can't keep it inside I have to shout it out loud, all of the things I couldn't live without= This time it's Heather's turn to explain her point of view on this line. Mike and his family died, and soon Mike could too, so all the things she can't live without
And I'm pouring my heart, and I'm spilling my soul, and I'm gasping for air, cause he's giving it all= Heather's life is horrible, without his brother, so Mike gives it his all, to wake up from the coma as The Creator
And to fake it will make it better better than it was before= Heather faking in The Raposa world, that she was a Raposa, and couldn't talk
And lies could bring us close together= The Lie caused Heather to be closer to Mike
So I won't be lonely no more= She now has Mari, Jowee and Mike
Pretending it doesn't matter could help me pass the time, in make believe he'll hide forever= We explained this earlier
This is Real life= This too Xd
It's time to see: The two clash together again. It's time for Jowee to see The Real Life and make the final verdict of what to do
While he's making a step, he's making a stand, he's pulling down walls and doing all that he can= Jowee has made his decision to help Mike. The Hero brakes down walls of Wilfre's castle, and with Jowee he does all that he can
He's through with black and white, and drawing the lines, between make believe and Real Life= He's through with Wilfre's aims, and draws the lines, between The Raposa and Real Life
This is Real Life= Again
My Real Dreams and Real love......= Heather has Mike, and Mari dies, so her voice is alone now
Believe the things, that you can't touch= Wilfre can't touch Mike, and Heather knew Jowee, who Wilfre failed to convince to join him
This make believe is not enough= A bit rude isn't it? The Raposa world is not enough, even though they saved your brother, who we don't care about?
It's time to see The Real life= The Raposa are over, it's time for you me and everyone to stop with them, and see The Real Life.
Good interpretation
Thanks bro :)
I have a theory that Heather is infact the creator. Just ask if you wanna know
Mr. ROFL That theory fits the facts yes but there is no proof.
Please supply proof of this theory.

Firstl, if you look in the final level of Drawn to Life 2, you'll notice in one of the stained glass a hand holding a stylus.
2:32 “And start it all over so we can really...Begin”
Very commonly misheard
ITS BACK BOYS, BACK ON THE SWITCH, PLEASE REVIVE THIS SERIES ONCE AGAIN
Too bad the gameplay was dogsh*t right the writing was pretty good but I barely finished the game
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever, all those memories...
I'M SO LUCKY I STILL HAVE THE GAME :D
YUY
Ilovecats ANDPONIES I HAVE BOTH
Lucky
I lost mine as well 😭😭
Ilovecats ANDPONIES Luckily I have the combo game pack, both games on one game card
me too awesome right!! 🐱
Who's watching this in 2016.
Man, I haven't hear this song in while.
+Anime Girl Me.
Me
same. it's a great song.
Same. Havent played this game in years, message potrayed still sticks with me, as well as this song.
+Anime Girl Me T_T ...so good...
I can take it I want a 3rd drawn to life
+Dominic “D-Man” Sain We do not speak about the dark times.
Tbh I don't cause it might ruin the ending to this game... Leaving it like this with the plot twist is a good way to end a franchise
You got your wish! Third game was just leaked actually!
Your wish has been granted
@Bethany never say never, the third game is here on Dec. 7th- with a majority of the original writers and staff coming back
Even tho it's one of the most underrated games ever, this game made me see myself repeating it multiple times just to listen to the beautiful soundtracks and to revive memories
Screw Scribblenauts we need a new Drawn to Life game!
I don't know how they'll continue the series, maybe a spin-off or something
Definitely. I wish more games made me as emotionally destroyed as this did!
Fan.
Game.
Early 2018.
*H Y P E*
Easy:
E3 Trailer: starts with this songs, shows how Mike is now a grown up man and who he's drawling the events of the 2 previus games. Then make a quick change into a 3D gameplay (Probably a Hack-and-Slash like Devil may cry but also a plataformer like Mario) With the new hero destroying random new enemies, and a New "Wilfred" with a psychotic grimm. Then end the trailer with a "The Real Chapter"
Now, let the interned burn with teories and fan speculations.
Then, release the game on Swicht.
Also, let the developtmen take 2 years, just in case.
The game is amazing, yes is better
But scribblenauts is no bad
Is the same thing with
Megaman and Mighty n°9
The first game is better
But your spiritual sequel is good too
This was TEN years ago. I’m so glad to have had this game!
S-Shut up! I'm won't cr-- I... I-I won't cry! WWAAAHHHH!!! **Sniffle**.
I loved the series... Goodbye dear friend
I wish spotify had all the drawn to life songs, including light of my life, the end and this song!
I just dramatically lip synced this in a dark room.
When you realize that a DS game that was released a very long time ago, had the saddest yet heartwarming story that was way better told than any modern game ever it shows how you have to make a choice in life. You can decide to live a lie, or live a painful but more truthful life either way the ending made me cry big time 😭😭😭😭
I finished the game today and the ending brought tears to my eyes. And I'm 19! Both games are just perfect.
+Krugmann96 This is exactly my situation. I'm two months away from being 19, I beat the game today, and I'm crying my eyes out at this ending
24 now yes?
@@novastar3990 Correct!
#FreeSpamOfOtherChanelsOfDrawnToLife
sirbaki is making a fanmade game, it's going to be called: drawn to life the lost chapter
when is it coming out i need a copy
sotty, I just don´t know look in her channel
Nice Theory.
I used, to blame Heather for the Raposa extinction, just because of her prayer. This game is so sad, I cry every time I think about this ending. Seriously, in class, lunch extc, just mention Drawn to life, and I cry a river. I'm a boy btw.
Y-You... You made it even sadder! That's why Mike's scenario was better, because it simpler, and all the other scenarios were sadder! **Sniffle**
The Raposa aren't really dead. A few years ago I read a really good explanation about what really happened. I don't remember how it went exactly, and I can't seem to find it again, but if I remember correctly, it went something like this:
As her inner demons, Wilfre never wanted a human to enter the Raposa world, and his fears became reality as Mike entered the Raposa world.
This game is one of my favorites. So underrated, but it was so amazing.
I like coming here when I need to cry because it makes me feel better.
As someone who's quite ill, faking it to make it better and hiding in make believe has another level of meaning. ^^'
I loved this game series... something tells me there'll never be another one of these
I hope so
@goddessOfThEniTe I believe it's:
"I'm just trying to survive
Everyday I need a lie
Taking one step at a time
In a make believe"
I had the drawn to life collection (it had both games in one) and when I got to the next chapter I beat this game not even kidding more than 10 times just to hear this song. I may be only 12 but both games will always hold a dear place in my childhood.
SirDerpsalot the great No one I know that is my age has even heard of drawn to life. It sucks nobody can share this beautiful story with me! ;-;
Artist Oblivion I feel you bro. well for me actually I hooked my friends on to the game so for the last bit I did have someone to share this beautiful game with.
Have you seen the original ending?
@@novastar3990 I have seen videos of the original but haven't seen it irl myself. My copy of collection is the second less depressing version
I've beaten this game so many times I can probably sing this from memory alone
Looked up this shit to say that kids games can look goofy but this one had heart. Makes you cry man.
Anthem of Sirens yeah definitely play it again. I love the game, love the fandom..
**Grabs Brick of Feels***
**Throws Brick At Face***
The ending cutscene FUCKED ME UP as a kid
when i was younger i didn't understand what the ending was about but i cried and cried and only now do i understand it was the most depressing ending of any game i will ever play and only now do i understand that they had to sacrifice themselves and nothing could help them
This song reminds me of The Arc “The Light” a Japanese girl band. Never played this game before but this ending is sad. This song is amazing.
In the first 50 seconds of this song it goes from a nice happy little song, to a depressing song that makes you think about life and childhood and the possibility of losing someone you love. Or maybe it’s just me
Who's watching this in 2017? Was seriously the most emotional game I've ever played 😪
Will graceffa MEEEE!!!
Me oh yeahh
Osito Blue Wow. Your the first person to say that in like a month. :v
(I'm dead serious, all the comments saying they still cared ended 1 month ago.)
Also, once again, *MEEEE.*
Well I am one of the fandoms most active members
This game honestly is so underrated and needs more recognition!
If you take a deep breath, you can forget that this was part of a game. You can just think that it's a song about you and someone you care about fighting to escape reality and reunite at long last.
Deep down I'll know the truth... Such a tragic reveal
watching it now 2016 broke my heart crying listing to this I love this game...😢
As someone who suffers from a deteriorating physical illness, I like to come back here and really reminiscince about this game, and what it taught me. The line about make believe being not enough, always gets me though...
I played this game over 10 years ago. I never inew until i was an adult that it was about mike and heather who got into a car crash, their parents died, and it was mike that was in a coma this whole time through both games. Wilfre was the smoke. But im not too sure on where the hero (us) comes into play. But anyway, damn. Just damn. 😢
Jesus
oh my god so many feelings
Most beautiful game ost ever
Such an underrated gem
GENERAL K E N O B O I
I lost my game copy, but this game, especially the ending, changed my view of the world that I barely had as a kid. I drew a family portrait and collage because of this song. Only game that made me cry, and im thinking about buying it again.
when I was younger, about seven, I'm ten now, now about 4 years ago, I owned this game, I could never beat it and never played the original, and now, I have both games in one, and being the curious idiot I am,beat the second one first, I could barely console my tears at the end, it was a beautiful ending and I think none of us could have asked for more... it's just heartbreaking to have an adventure like that end with such fitting music, once I beat number 2 (still haven't beat the first yet) I walked downstairs and said "the feels.. the feels are real" RIP DRAWN TO LIFE, THE BEST GAME EVER
true
I made this comment three years ago haha
3:52 tell me i'm not nuts but i think Mike joins in at that part with Heather...is that..when he..wakes..went to check and yes it is!
This game broke me so much that I've been avoiding it for like 7 years of more... Man, but the song always punch me, I'm gonna replay it soon... :'/.
it's been 6 years and I CAN'T WITH THIS SONG ;_____________;
It's sad that this song is barely known.. can't download it anywhere
I remembered this song when I heard it on a video and I teared up. This game was so underrated, it really was a good game and I'll never forget it.
Came here after Drawn to Life 3 got leaked :o
Wait what?
I played the first Drawn to life in elementary school. And I could never get past this one boss.
I replayed the parts leading up to the boss so many times I practically know the intro by heart.
Flash Forward to High school and I find a used copy of DtL: The final chapter. I had forgotten about the game and didn't know there was a sequel. So I buy the game wanting to relive the only good part about that time in my life.
I get through the game easily finishing it in like a few days.
AND
OH
MY
GOD
I was so thrown off by the ending. like was such a drastic turn from the cutesy game I remembered.
I was on a road trip with my family at the time and after I the ending I just sorta looked up from my ds. And stared out the window of our van. I didn't cry I just felt.....empty. Not only because I finished so quickly but also because it was such a dark ending from a game I remember being so light-hearted and cheery.
LEIK IF U CRIE EVERYTIEM
(I actually do, though.)
Such a nice song,it's good when games have emotional songs that doesn't happen often but I'm glad when I see it.
The feels! So many feels! Augh!
When I have kids I'll plop my DS in their hands and get them to play these gems
I say we bring D.T.L back to life! WHO'S WITH ME?!
Fuck I remember playing this game 😭. Both games and it was so gooddddddddd. Miss those days 😔.
Please can this game get a port to the switch?! I don’t want a new game, I love the series how it is and think it ended perfectly, but having both games on the switch where more people can love and enjoy them, I’d love that, cos this series is painfully under rated
First game I ever played and one of the best games I have ever played
Drawn to Life Two Realms hypeeeeeee AAAAAAAAAAAAA
Holy shit
Playing this game to the end was like trying to hold onto a dream before literally fighting yourself to let it go and live the rest of your life. I cried once a was old enough to realize.
Just too be clear, she's actually saying 'spilling my soul' not sealing
I still can't hear this song without breaking down into tears.
i remember when i bet the game for the first time. i was confused of why there was a family, but when i saw this, i just cried
I cried the whole time I watched this.
The ending was the saddest.
This song is amazing, it's so deep and it really reminds me of some fantastic childhood memories.
The ending to this game made me cry... And I'm a 12 year old boy... This song is so powerful :(
I'm 13 it's okay
Benjamim Carvalho Phew... lol
13. I made a tear sea from crying now.
Confirm Level Viewer what?
Confirm Level Viewer lol
I’m getting so many chills right now!! Ahhh that ending... godly. A true masterpiece 😔❤️
I really wish they'd make an anime of this game. And to be honest, as a child raised as a Christian from Kindergarten and before, I never even had a hint of this game's messages until I heard this song.
This song still hits me. Such a great game. Like, its honestly fantastic and I'll never forget it.
NGL I think the gameplay isn’t anything special (except for the drawing heroes and platforms and such) but OH MY GOSH the story’s great, the character/world design is phenomenal, and the music is soooo good. I love this series 😭😭😭😭😭
my feels from this song bringing back memories to the game. I definately appreciate it much more now.
thank you
8 year old me just wanted to play a fun game about drawing, but I got hit with feels
Beautiful. Absolutely amazing. Makes me cry tears every time, THAT magical.
I don't see how religion laws mean anything in that regard, this was a deeply religious undertone game if you think about it.
Yet another year later I see what you mean.
Looking back I'm surprised that I missed
all the references which make this game such a great allegory. Love this story more every time I play through it.
Yo I remember I was like 12 and finished this game staying up past my bed time on my ds and the ending legit made me cry
I was probably 11 years old or 12 when first play this
I remember getting the car accident ending and having no idea what was going on but when I finaly got it I just smiled and cried for Mike.
Should be "Fakin' it will make it better" not "think it will make it better".
I agree
I got three of these playing at the same time. I've synced them all up just right, and the result is AMAZING!
