- This is based from Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter.
For those of you who never played Drawn to life, this is a scene about a Raposa called "Mayor Rose" who lost her voice to an evil opera singer in s singing contest. You help her son, Miles, get it back from the ocean, inside a "Promise Conch"
When her vioce is back, she relizes how much of fool she was risking the life of her town, Watersong. Rose decides to pass on her vioce earlie to the next generation, knowing when she gives up the legendary heart song, she will die.

I made the mistake of listening to this during class. I started crying and my teacher sent me to the guidance councilor. It took forever to explain why I was crying and that I was perfectly fine. They wound up calling my parents and making it a bigger issue than it was. Long story short, if you usually cry during this, don't listen to it in a crowded area!
Though i wasn’t at school it was shortly after my dog rex was put down (so about two years ago) I almost melted down listening to this

NerdyTaco See that's the problem with bad endings, I forgot this game because the ending annoyed me so I haven't played it again but I forgot this part broke my heart, this was the good part of the story :(

Well your heart isn't going to be rip in two. Because she is still Alvin after this song. Am not kidding that game itself jast said that. Well there gose any sad part you where feeling now dose it? That literally made this sad part completely pointless. I love this game. But i also hate it. And this is the reason i hate it.
She's singing like: When I finish this song I'll fucking die and you'll be the new king. I know you're only 9 years old, but it doesn't matter. You'll have to study every single law, make hard decisions, and... you know, all that king stuff.

@@Amsosorryscotty I’m glad that was stopped I understand she was doing this as a way of living up to her mistake but if the creator hadn’t stopped it Miles would’ve had to take over as mayor and he’s like 5 so he wouldn’t have been ready and the creator didn’t want miles to go through more or less what Mari went through (Mari was a teenager when she had to take over and frankly she wasn’t ready yet)

This game is sad, so is the first too. When she dies and leaves Miles in charge possibly that saddest video game death ever

For those that asks why she is happy, she believes in miles, she felt like she did something wrong, and she wants to let miles know she will always see him as the sunshine in her life if she ever leaves

It’s not “she felt like she did something wrong” she KNEW she did something wrong, Mayor Rose and Salem did a deal which made Mayor Rose wanting to accept it due to her being to over positive and think she will win, apparently she didn’t, she lost her voice, making her weaker day by day, and when you (the hero) got the promise conch back and she got her voice back, she had the heavy amount of guilt, knowing she’s already weak enough; she wanted to give the music spirit to Miles, because not only he can is capable to lead WaterSong to its glory to what it already is, she doesn’t want to hold the guilt of letting down her village, citizens, and her son, all for fame. AND SCENE
This song can make anyone cry. I'm crying so much It hurts.

Creator: ho shoot. Did i really say that outloud. Jast ignore that. Thats nothing to worry about.... jast don't let the Moyer die yet. Ok bye.
Ok those last few sentences where a joke. But the part where the creator says no to her die in frount of her son was true.
@@Amsosorryscotty I'm a few years late on this, but I think you misinterpreted the scene. The whole point is that Rose was making a sacrifice that didn't need to be made, and needed to be told so. She was doing the wrong thing - a thing she was tricked into doing that would ruin her son's life - and The Creator stepped in to make sure things were set to rights.
the whole point is that she was admirable for being willing to throw her life away, but that she needed to be shown a better way to do things.
As a kid: I don't even know what's going on here, oh well who cares 😜
As a Teenager: OMG I didn't know this was such an emotional game 😭😭😭

That’s why I’m playing it again when I’m 22 (3 months from 23) because at the youngest I was only 11 so I couldn’t have appreciated the full content of the game I didn’t even understand half of the ending cause when you’re a stupid kid like I was that kind of stuff goes over your head

This definitely needs a cartoon series. I mean- didn't Animal Crossing get a movie? Sure DTL isn't nearly as popular but still.

The game knew how to balance darkness with light hearted moments I mean that ending wow of course I only understood the ending 11 years after beating it for the first time because when I beat it the first time I was 11 so being a stupid kid I of course didn’t understand that ending

I’d say the second game is better than the first but you need to play the first to have 150% grasp of the second game (I suggest the ds games not the wii games)

sarah bond Wilfre isn't evil, though.
He is tecnically a good guy, but he knows that what he does is seen as evil and is the main antagonist of the game.

@@Don_Monstro I think they should have saved watersong for last because I feel watersong set too high of a standard for the rest of the areas in the game had they saved watersong as the last main area besides wilfre’s domain the game could have ended on an extra high note

The way Rose looks happy and ready about her decision, but in contrast, her son (who's NINE years old mind you) looks sad and horrified because he knows that when this song ends, his mother will die (right in front of him), and the burden will go to him... For him, that song either lasted a lifetime or just a heartbeat, but either way it echos forever. And he'll always have a piece of his mother with him through the voice

She didn't. It's kinda ironic, after you beat watersong if you return, rose is still there but miles is nowhere to be found.
The Best part of the whole game. In fact this is the best story arc.
