I am in no way an animator and am terrified of learning all the features. But I’m buying it when it comes out because - well, it took Procreate Animation Assist and put it on steroids. How can I not go for it?
I’m so going to get this I already use procreate and struggle with understanding key frames and puppeting a rig, this is a dream come true as recently I’ve been struggling to figure out a way to boost my videos animation’s because I tried to learn how to use the lasso tools to make subtle movements with fabric, hair or even just a simple walk cycle but frame by frame and blur tool messes up my process since I don’t currently have a good app to use key frames and other stuff this app shows it has I am a self taught freelance artist trying my best to work with what I have and I can’t afford to pay for those monthly or yearly fees that most apps have and I’m limited to my iPad I don’t have a fancy laptop and I love to take my iPad on he go so this would be the perfecttool, I’m sure everyone will have their own ways of using this tool but I’m excited to expand my techniques with this new app also thank you to anyone reading my comment I just have a lot to share and so happy to see more about the app 😊

Procreate makes me switch to iPad ... I just wonder if 16GB RAM is a "must have" to make real short movies including synchro, music, ...
iPadOS can use virtual RAM as of iPadOS 16 if it has an Mx chip in it.
Would my 2018 regular ipad work or is it only newer models? Not as informed with apple. @@bassplayinMacFiend
It never hurt to have more RAM if you could afford it. Personally I’m waiting for the rumored m3 iPad Pro since that has 12GB base RAM configuration, allegedly. Probably going to buy the 1TB version with 24GB RAM is the rumor turns out to be true.

Likely not all iPads, but James said that they plan on wide compatibility. But we'll see!
Storage won't be an issue because Procreate Dreams will allow you to work on files from an external drive. Which is a huge difference compared to Procreate for drawing. However, they said that they plan to introduce this feature also in Procreate for drawing 🙌

This is only interesting to me if these can be used as vector animation, exportable to Rive.
Aww you use Rive? Neat! No one else I know even knows what Rive is. I’m also keen to see if Dream will support vector animation workflows as well, at some point.

There are some other big names with preview copies already. The tutes will come soon for sure.

Is Procreate Dreams in any way a replacement for a normal video editing software like LumaFusion ?
Yes and no, if you are doing cuts, edit, transform, etc... Then yes. But color correction, LUTs, luma key, etc... Then no. But you could absolutely develop your own artistic video editing / animation style with this. Really exciting

A straight 20 dollars is better than all the subscription shit we get for animation nowadays.
No, the GOOD thing is that it isn’t free. Otherwise it would be below par and annoying ads. For the one off payment of $20, they couldn’t have this done better. Quality has a price and in this case a very low price.
