Just curious since I don't quite understand this part.
Been thinking of getting a new model like the LG C1 or G1 but what I was curious about is that LG said a lot about the AI and processes as for images etc. Does the Apple TV 4k disable all the C1/G1 functions for better/Sharper image and just does its own thing? I mean if I am buying an expensive TV like G1 then wouldn't I ruin everything it can do by buying the Apple TV 4k? Does the TV still do all the functions for better image etc or does the Apple TV just take over?
Just so curious about the difference in quality by running on Apple TV 4k than the TV itself as you seem to show in the video.
What I meant by TV's function, I mean does Dolby Vision IQ work, does OLED Motion Pro still work, does AI Picture Pro, Opskalering med AI and all these great things still work even when you are using the Apple TV 4k?
I am so torn if I should just buy the TV and then that's it or also get the new Apple 4k TV but from what you are saying then I should prob get the Apple 4k TV also :3

The picture functions of the tv will all work as they would through the built in apps. No change there.
As for the Apple TV 4K (new one), it’s the usesbility of it and the processing power as well as app availability.
The built in apps on the tv are fine and “do the job” but I personally prefer the experience of the Apple TV as I can have much more apps dedicated to video (such as infuse). It also gives me HomeKit functionality being able view my cameras on my tv and run shortcuts to turn on/off lights, adjust heating etc.
As for the processing of the tv and the modes, I personally dislike the processing and disable most on my C9.
Been looking for this. I have a 77 CX and Apple 🍏 TV I’d like to just use the internal apps. What about the picture adjustments are they the same?

I have the c2 is the Apple TV 3rd gen worth it or should I wait for the maybe cheaper 4th gen?
Apple TV is worth the money and the latest HDR Apple TV performs a lot faster compared to my other 2.

Apple TV generally only gets refreshed every few years so may be worth waiting for the next gen model as I’m sure it’ll feature some mighty processor gains.
Can you please remake this video in 2022? As both apple tv and LG interface has changed since this video.
Problem is any videos I upload like this now get copyright strikes so I haven’t been able to produce something like this again (despite me wanting to).

Apple TV has other benefits if you’re in the apple eco systems like HomeKit etc.
Apple TV 4K HDR is my preferred device regardless of how good the built in OS is on any device because of the apple eco system and just how smooth and reliable the Apple TV is compared to all competition.

Hello. I have the lg c9 and have recently purchased the apple tv 4k. When I put the apple tv behind the c9, I am not able to use the lg magic remote. When the apple tv is in line of sight, the magic remote controls the apple tv. Is there a way to have the apple 4k tv behind the lg c9 where it is not physically seen and use the lg magic remote?
You need to add it as a Bluetooth remote in the settings and then it’ll work, right now you’re using ir which requires line of sight
Something I’ve noticed with my LG CX is that the built in apps play back Dolby Atmos (DD+) for sound to my Sonos Arc but I heard the Apple TV 4K will actually ply back Dolby Atmos MAT, do you know if that’s true? I’ve noticed that Dolby Atmos MAT sounds better on my Xbox Series X as it’s much louder than DD+. This may be a good reason to buy the apple TV
Dolby atmos MAT is simply encoding/decoding on device so effectively you end up with better audio (lossless) in PCM. I believe the Apple TV does support this.
Don’t forget that the CX also doesn’t have DTS support but the Apple TV will decode all formats as far as I’m aware.
Overall the Apple TV 4K HDR is my preferred device as I also use HomeKit so it operates as a home hub as well as integrating into the apple ecosystem.
@@MATechRUclips that’s good to know, thanks for the explanation as all of the different Codec is confusing for DA. I may have to check one of these out! Getting PCM Dolby Atmos and DTS would be ideal. Probably a better interface and more app choices as-well.
@@MATechRUclips if you still have this set up are you able to confirm if the audio sounds better in your Apple TV 4K than from your built in apps? And if you have a sound bar like the Sonos ARC can you tell if one is Dolby Atmos MAT and the other is DD+?
Sound wise it’s actually very unlikely you’ll notice a massive difference unless you have a high end setup AND the content is optimised.
I’ve tested DD+ vs Dolby True HD 7.1 several times and you’d be hard pressed to notice any difference being completely honest.
@@MATechRUclips see that’s the odd thing with my setup: LG CX, Sonos Arc, Xbox Series X. The major difference is the sound volume. If I’m listening to Dolby Atmos (DD+) through the TV Web OS apps I need to have the volume at at least 50% to have clear dialog and hear the affects of DA. But if I listen to the same show through my Xbox Series X on the Netflix App on the Xbox as Dolby Atmos MAT the sound is much louder and the dialog is clear at 25%. The loudness difference is incredible which is why I’ve been trying to look into this more.
Wireless connection is just not an option for rooms on the top level of the house; the signal is just too weak. I had to run several ethernet lines to the top level of the house; so much better now and I don't have to worry about buffering or degraded wireless signals. However, wireless signal in the basement is maxed, but I can also go ethernet if I had too.
For me, the LG C9 made the Nvidia obsolete now and there's one less connection I have to worry about. I also have the Apple TV 4k, but mainly use that for Zwifting. I use eARC between the LG and Denon receiver and I just don't miss the Nvidia.
The LG screen saver pops up almost immediately. You must not have the correct screen saver settings on the tv.
I have a Sn11r Soundbar which is connected to my TCL tv hdmi arc port
and I’m not able to get atmos because my tv doesn’t supports it , as it even lacks eArc
So would you please help me getting atmos
If I buy a Apple TV 4K can I get atmos in Netflix , which should pass through the Soundbar or my tv it self has to support atmos in order to get atmos
I’m really confused with this , I read in digital trends website about Netflix’s new protocol that the playback device has to support atmos .

Connect the Apple TV to your sound Bar directly and then the soundbar via arc to your tv.
You will then get atmos as it’s a direct connection and if your tv is capable it’ll pass through Dolby vision support from the soundbar to the tv as well, if not atmos alone should make a big difference

If one of your devices is connected to wifi and the other one is with Ethernet, you’re not really comparing apple to apple though. So the vs title isn’t really correct.
If I was doing a speed comparison then you may have a point but as any streamed content will be at around 12-40mbps at most and with me having 900mbps internet and usually around 400mbps over Wi-Fi the speed of the signal is irrelevant.
The key differences come from usability, interface and how they react when content is paused (as far as relevance to oled anyway).
Also built in apps rarely get any updates and even rarer perform as well as apps on Apple TV which usually has the best performance due to the platform size.
Its picture quality better in apple tv than lg c9 smart tv ?
picture should in theory be exactly the same as they're both streamed so both will be having similar picture and audio quality however the user experience and interaction will be different between the two as highlighted in the video

You can change this in the settings by ensuring match frame rate and match format are both enabled.
You need to ensure that Netflix is also in 4K/hdr as well however as they do reduce quality from time to time based on load capacity
