One of the most interesting things about BTS' CGI use is that they tend to be unique about what they use... Sometimes CGI is used for stuff you wouldnt think would be and sometimes the stuff you would be convinced is CGI is practical or half & half. They always want to give their best so if they can do practical they will but they have no shame if they end up having to use CGI. They seem to enjoy practical effects more though lol...... Youll often see them messing around with the sets during behind the scenes filming
Yeah, you will find that you could probably make a 74 hour video about BTS and as long as it's authentic and not hyped up contrived crap, we'd watch it. We are ridiculous that way.
Nah dude. They really dropped those floors, they really flooded that room, and lit the other room on fire. And the room V is in has thousands of Cell phones glued to the wall.
My first thought when I saw all of the cell phones in that scene was - that's ARMY in the audience. ARMY is part of the whole experience that is BTS. Love, love, love.
It's not a painting. The sculpture is a sculpture of some sort. It's really apparent in the making of the MV. The false floors are not CGI. Jungkook had to be harnessed when he was running.
The sculpture (along with the dance choreo keep an eye on their hands. Esp the popping parts) you’ll see it represents hear no evil see no evil speak no evil. The positions of the hands. 🙊🙉🐵 So cool first time I learned 🤯
I'm guessing the reason why the sets look so detached from each other is probably because it's part of their story line (Bangtan universe). The story line has been going on for year's through multiple music video's, books and games.
Id just like to say that i really like you how you appreciate the scenes because when most people react to bts they never acknowledge the scenery and the effort so thankyou❤
What is the best is that they put a lot of easter eggs, clues in their MV, and many times they re-create part of the set on stage. Oh, I'm so looking forward to you reacting to making of Fake Love :D I think you will like Blood Sweat and Tears as well :)
I know you're here for the cinematography, but most of their videos have a lot to do with their lyrics, so you're missing out if you don't turn on the English captions!
BTS has a story line that almost all of their songs are inter connected. Their songs have deep messages that you have to watch the making of the mv and the explanation of each mv done by Xceleste or Bookish Theories. I strongly suggest you watch to understand the storyline and really appreciate the mv not just the anesthetics value..
Some of their music videos have a lot of CGI, but Fake Love is renowned for its practical effects. :) I'm pretty sure the phone turning into sand is CGI, though. The fire was real but much smaller in real life. They enhanced it post production.
The dancing is needed because it tells a story that enhance the lyric & the MV. Like when j-hope & Jungkook do the mirroring while J-hope angrily pointing at Jungkook who acts as the mirror. RM also look at himself through the real mirror.
The shipping containers with the rings actually represents a bus in their other mv. Their mv are actually connected with each other. They have a great storyline.
They do use some effects to make things more dramatic like a bigger fire but they use real fire. They usually use real sets too but in this one, one of them is a green screen. For the making of, here is the link of the video with English sub, the original one doesn't have sub: ruclips.net/video/JsoMuaewpZs/видео.html
One of the biggest reality behind BTS's huge production is that they don't use CGI's instead of it they tend to use real set ups & props like fire & water, falling floors in this video.... They all were real... To believe one has to see the Behind the scences.... Between i love your reactions..💕🇮🇳

Snickers have a significance in the running storyline of their videos. In an earlier short film(the Highlight Reels) we see J Hope (fictionally) being abandoned by his mother in an amusement park, leaving him with nothing but a Snickers bar.
I think you'd also really like the mv for blood sweat& tears (with the behind the scenes). They had some beautiful sets for that one as well and the mv in general is very pretty. Black swan is a beautiful mv as well, it's filmed on location.
Yessssss! < Fake love > nice choice! I love it ! Thank you for your professional reaction. I'm looking forward to seeing the behind scenes for this m/v with you.
I can’t wait for you to watch the shooting sketch! It was also really funny hearing you say the dancing isn’t needed considering that we love to watch their dance practices so there’s no camera work or anything to distract from their choreo🤣. But anyways, great reaction! I would only suggest adding the subtitles so you can know what their talking about so you can know what the video is meant to portray. I think it could add to your analysis (and their lyrics are great😊).

2:32 About the rings, those represent the rings on a bus for ppl to hold. And this idea of this item can be traced back to their "Highlight Reel 起承轉結" series which is also a great short film. Many elements or items that you find in their MV can be found in their previous MV. These elements are the keys connecting BTS deeply with old fans also attracting the attention of new fans.
The fire is real, poor Yoongi was frying. You can see behind the escenes. He has so many different scenes with fire, he suffered. But he is also so happy to go the extra mile to create a piece of art.
It's not that they don't use cg but like most great film makers with money they prefer to do practical scenes whenever possible. Thanks for your reaction. And No, they didnt get paid by snickers so snickers ended up having a field day with this one blowing up cause they got free bts marketing 😂 and every other chocolate brand tried to ride along 😂 they dont do paid promotions in their MVs. They do it in their variety shows or reality shows or even vlogs but rarely in mvs. Except samsung I guess and now, probably Mcdonalds. That's why most brands or labels when they see themselves trend in relation to bts ends up getting hyped too because there's no contract whatsoever 😂 Bts always end up doing free marketing because their exclusive deals are quite high and they dont like getting restricted. Hehe. This is a just FYI. 😅
Lots of kpop MVs use physical sets, it’s really something else. The massive companies have so much money they can afford it I guess 🤷♀️ I mean I’ve seen so many different groups and soloist behind the scenes and the sets are real. Blows my mind. Also I really enjoy your insight, thank you!
"What is that??? What is that in the center??? Where are they??? I dont know." This is what people usually say when they're new to BTS and the BU (Bangtan Universe) HAHAHA
Omggg yous hould react to 7 short films in wings. Each member with their own song has their own short films for Wings. The cinematography and all are majestic
I’ve watched a few of your videos now and I love how in depth you go. You didn’t seem to go too far into the meaning in this one as you did in a couple others but I still love your commentary. One thing I learned is that the BTS world is…..expansive and intricate. They actually have a comic on Webtoons called Save Me and a lot of the shots here and in other videos actually make reference to it. It definitely made me appreciate the music videos more and I think you might as well. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this particular video again after you read the comic, if you ever do.
You really need to watch the whole videos. There are things you are missing by skipping around. Their transitions are the best ever and you are missing how it all flows together. Also ARMY likes to enjoy reactions to the whole video. Just a couple suggestions. Thank you
all this set has a story behind them. all they have a different story. that letter in the set you liked the most said 'save me ' but if you see this in opposite direction it says 'i'm fine', both of them are the song from the same album.
Alex, I am looking forward to your reaction to the behind the scenes! I know you already watched it. Re: the atmosphere, I think they mostly stayed away from haze to focus on the artist as the subject.
Some of their MVs are honestly just mini films. 'ON' , 'Spring Day', and 'I Need You' are great examples. I think you would really enjoy 'Blood, Sweat, and Tears' though. The stages for that one were amazing. ARMY are pretty great so long as you don't insult the boys. We're very protective because BTS have been mistreated consistently over their 8 year career. And, don't worry about geeking out. Honestly, most reactions are just people looking lifeless, or getting up from their chair in a huff. Your content is actually informative, and adds to the experience. You're doing great. Feel free to ask ARMY anything you want to know. We tend to be an overly informative bunch, but we're here for you. I think your question was answered in the comments regarding 'Fake Love', but just to summarize: It's about losing yourself in a relationship for the sake of someone you love-completely changing yourself to fit their ideal. It is part of an ongoing theme in their 'Love Yourself' trilogy where they explore everything from deep, all-consuming love to the feelings that you get when you lose yourself in a relationship, to the recovery of your identity once you realize that you shouldn't have to change yourself for anyone else. It's AMAZING, and brought in a lot of ARMY. Seriously, hearing ARMY shouting 'I'm The One I Should Love' is so beautiful (It's from the song 'Epiphany').
Ahhh! I'm so glad you reacted to this one! I hope you do the behind sketch to see how they made it! Here's the version with english subtitles: ruclips.net/video/JsoMuaewpZs/видео.html
Actually it was real fire with CGI added to maximize effect. Also, i dont think youve seen the behind the scene of yoongi when thwy were doing the clip for i need u and the BU where he was surrounded by fire and was litterally screaming out that its hot. (In the behind the scenes) It was controlled fire, but very real
@@flovonnejohnson707 "Actually it was real fire with CGI to maximize effect" ---- This is what I mean when I said CGI. We're on thesame page and I saw those behind the scenes👌
A moment of appreciation for all the ARMYs including links to suggested videos 💜 “you nice, keep going” Re: match cuts... there’s a lot in the dance parts of the videos. They’ll perform the dance choreo in the outfits for the corresponding set. I’m not sure, maybe someone can confirm/refute, but maybe they perform the whole choreo in each outfit/set so that they can pick and choose where to cut I think it’s fair to say that ARMY are very interested to see you react to the filming of this video
also smth rly cool to notice is that the lighting up phone scene @4:45 of the mf itself, u can see the words “save me” and “i’m fine” on the phone bgs....motifs of the promotion/mv and two bts song names and there’s a whole other world when u discover how those two songs intertwine...any way! just a lil taste of why we all get stuck in the rabbit hole and watch their mvs at 0.5x speed all the time to catch the easter eggs 🤪🤣🤩
I'm enjoying your videos analyzing BTS MVs a lot! Blood, Sweat & Tears is super artistic and beautiful, would be a great choice after Fake Love's behind the scenes :) No, they are not sponsored by Snickers, even though that's everyone's who are not familiar with BU (Bangtan Universe) first guess. BU is a story arc that goes through their music videos since 2015 starting with a video I NEED U, the cohesive story is made from not only music videos, but also short films (which I think you would enjoy checking out too!), note books, video game and so on. It's a whole thing and one of the reasons why BTS is so different from other artists. Even their albums usually come in series of three creating a story line, like Love Yourself series or Map of The Soul series. And no, they don't have videos on how they build sets, only behind the scenes Bangtan Bomb episodes:) I guess you'll find out about water and fire soon! 💜
If you watch the shooting Sketch, I am sure others have said this, but when Jeongguk is running down the hall and the floor gives way, that is actually happening. There is only one place I can think of that is CGI, buuut I could be super wrong about that, I just can't remember what they put in the shooting sketch, and that is when there is a waterfall that opens up. So, The explosion in the room, real. The water pouring into the room, real, floor dropping, real. Fire, real. Also when RM is talking about wanting to be a good man and Jeongguk sings just for you. That is RM singing to himself and Guk is basically playing RM's inner voice and singing certain phrases back. Oh and the phone I am sure isn't real. With the floor they had to do it more than once because Jeongguk ran too fast the first time. Also the lighting up in that hallway are cellphones lighting up, it's part of the BTS universe. The snickers are also part of the BTS universe.
There's a behind the scene.. The explosion is real.. The falling floor is real..

Well damn lol
Lots of kpop MVs use physical sets, it’s really something else. The massive companies have so much money they can afford it I guess 🤷♀️ I mean I’ve seen so many different groups and soloist behind the scenes and the sets are real. Blows my mind. Also I really enjoy your insight, thank you!
Can’t wait to see your reaction to the making of this !
the theories about meanings are amazing. their video has a lot of symbolism
Thank you
"This room looks so good
Me:Wanna live in it 😂😂
all this set has a story behind them. all they have a different story. that letter in the set you liked the most said 'save me ' but if you see this in opposite direction it says 'i'm fine', both of them are the song from the same album.
Alex, I am looking forward to your reaction to the behind the scenes! I know you already watched it. Re: the atmosphere, I think they mostly stayed away from haze to focus on the artist as the subject.
Blood Sweat and Tears should be your next MV....that one is so aesthetically pleasing.
it’s so fun watching you guessing what is fake and what is real in bts music videos!!!!! ;)
those falling floors were real too. you gotta watch the shooting sketch for this one.
4:04 that was really a set, not CGI, you can see it in the Behind the scenes
Ahhh! I'm so glad you reacted to this one! I hope you do the behind sketch to see how they made it!
Here's the version with english subtitles: ruclips.net/video/JsoMuaewpZs/видео.html
Forget safety issues.
It is a miracle
They are still with us.
Of course they used CGI ( we don't want yoongi to burn) 😄 but their sets are incredibly insaaane!
Actually it was real fire with CGI added to maximize effect. Also, i dont think youve seen the behind the scene of yoongi when thwy were doing the clip for i need u and the BU where he was surrounded by fire and was litterally screaming out that its hot. (In the behind the scenes)
It was controlled fire, but very real
@@flovonnejohnson707 "Actually it was real fire with CGI to maximize effect" ---- This is what I mean when I said CGI. We're on thesame page and I saw those behind the scenes👌
A moment of appreciation for all the ARMYs including links to suggested videos 💜 “you nice, keep going”
Re: match cuts... there’s a lot in the dance parts of the videos. They’ll perform the dance choreo in the outfits for the corresponding set. I’m not sure, maybe someone can confirm/refute, but maybe they perform the whole choreo in each outfit/set so that they can pick and choose where to cut
I think it’s fair to say that ARMY are very interested to see you react to the filming of this video
"I wish they could add up some haze"
SUGA: ok let there be fire
also smth rly cool to notice is that the lighting up phone scene @4:45 of the mf itself, u can see the words “save me” and “i’m fine” on the phone bgs....motifs of the promotion/mv and two bts song names and there’s a whole other world when u discover how those two songs intertwine...any way! just a lil taste of why we all get stuck in the rabbit hole and watch their mvs at 0.5x speed all the time to catch the easter eggs 🤪🤣🤩
I'm enjoying your videos analyzing BTS MVs a lot! Blood, Sweat & Tears is super artistic and beautiful, would be a great choice after Fake Love's behind the scenes :)
No, they are not sponsored by Snickers, even though that's everyone's who are not familiar with BU (Bangtan Universe) first guess.
I like how you include only the shots in the MV that you want to comment on from a filmmaker's perspective.
Omg the views!! Nice dude! This video's grow your channel so good!
I know!! I can’t believe it!!
Alex, your reaction is always informative. Thank you. ARMY here in Papua New Guinea.
