Btw, the Purple Hearts is a symbol that BTS and ARMY uses to signify love and trust, forever. One of the members, I know you don’t know them yet, but it is V or Kim Taehyung (V is his stage name), coined the word Borahae, which he said is the last color of the rainbow, and means that I will trust you and love you forever (although he made that up, you will never convince any BTS fan that it is not true). So to get a Purple Heart, or if someone signs their comment with Borahae, or I purple you, it is a very endearing thing, and something we take seriously. 💜💜💜

It's very interesting to see music videos from the production standpoint. Everybody wants to be a singer, song writer or rapper but forget how important the production team works to piece it all together. Without them music videos would literally be tiktok videos
Totally agree on this one, cause BTS (and any other artists) are not just them, it's the whole FAMILY of artists themselves, their fans, production team and so on
I can't tell you how much I enjoy your in-depth reactions to the film-making. It's also really funny that you don't really "get" the dancing (not in a bad way, there is a reason that you've been drawn to a visual art form). I've watched this video so many times (and also watched many reactors). But with you, I've learned and noticed new things (over 4 years later). I also love how the thing you react to the most in your videos are the cameras and equipment. LOL. Anyway, props to you and other filmmakers. Lumpens is a kick-A$$ group for BTS to work with. One of the things that makes BTS great is that they work with an extremely talented team of people. BTS would not be the same without the creative folks who storyboard, direct, produce, film and edit their MVs. All ARMY know that. I hope you one day react to TXT MVs--they are a label-mates to BTS and have some of the most weird, creative, & interesting MVs out there. Like Nap of the Star or Eternity MV. You should also watch the BTS Wings Series of MV shorts.
Omg txt is soooo good! What I love about them is that they are remind me of bts in many ways but they still have there own unique style and take on different concepts which is why I think I love them so much.
I believe the beginning "To all the underdogs in the world, a day may come where we lose. But it is not today, today we fight", is a Lord of the Rings reference.
JJDSIJFDISJ I THINK SO TOO!! BCS EVERYTIME I WATCH LOTR AND ARAGORN IS GIVING THAT SPEECH I ALWAYS MISTAKE "this day, we fight!!" with BTS' "today we fight!" lol
Since you seem to love when a performance is “pretty,” I can’t wait till you see the performance at the 2020 MMA Award Show! BTS are even better live and their performances at Asian award shows are epic! There are so many beautiful paths on the BTS journey that you have not experienced yet. I look forward to seeing it all.

i laughed so hard at 9:26 cause i'm so pumped about the beat drop and their dancing but you just said "oh, camera rumbles a little bit" and i just lost it T-T it's a good thing though!!! kinda refreshing to watch sb with a different perspective than mine!!!
Another great reaction! Since you were wondering the purple heart (💜) represents a phrase created by member V and used by both the group and ARMY. Pronounced as "borahae" or "I purple you". It combines "bora" meaning purple and "saranghae" meaning I love you. The meaning behind it is the idea that purple/violet is the last color of the rainbow, meaning "I will trust and love you for a long time/till the end". Therefore, purple is a meaningful color for BTS, an unofficial/official color of the fandom! Hopefully this was helpful😉
amazing and thorough explanation! we can also add that today (!!!) HYBE applied for "borahae" trademark and now it truly belongs only to BTS and ARMY 💜💜
I'm a korean army. I like your type of reaction very much. Keep going. Whenever I saw your opinion, I could learn different things.Through your eyes,I knew many things. Especially the word not today on the building. Thank you.
I really liked the breakdown on how the Dolly zooms work, thank you. I also thought it was awesome how you pointed out the actual frames that the transitions happen in. It makes me wonder how many full performances they do in each setting for each camera set up to get footage for those shots. How much of those types of shots are planned out before they shoot? All of them? Cause that seems like a lot of moving and setting up equipment and also clearing equipment away for the drone shots they eventually zoom out to. Do you think there are any parts of a music video like this that comes about in the editing room just from fiddling with the footage, or do you think it’s more likely that everything is thought out through planning and pre-vis before anything gets shot?
They probably do a lot of previs and planning. Because if the clarity, the dolly zoom was planned. Editing will determine the pace and feel of everything and they probably have a lot of footage that they cut out
Your reactions make me think a bit differently about all these MVs. I love them even more now since it’s really shows that everything is connected (music, lyrics, dance and camera work). Thank you for the reaction and it’s fine not to understand some aspects (like dancing), you’re more involved in the analyzing the video than most so called reactors are. I’d really appreciate if you react to daechwita or interlude: shadow

purple is like bts's and army's color 😊💜 the member V made up the term 보라해 (Borahae) which means "i purple you" it's a combination of the words "violet" and "i love you" in korean.. because violet is the last color of a rainbow, he said Borahae means they'll love us until the end or something like that 💜

And many ARMYs found strength in this song in facing hardships in life.

At 5:23 not only do people drop off, but every time they jump the background is a little darker/closer to dusk. Shows how consistent they are with their choreo
Your reactions are always so interesting, because you give actual information about what we're seeing, based on your own experience and expertise, such as your explanations about the dolly zoom and what effect it has on the viewer. You're actually enhancing our experience of the videos we thought we already knew so well, and that's amazing!
I really love how u explain all the transitions, the camera movements and all the small details that I honestly had never seen even tho I watched the mv so many times, love ur videos!
There are the Wing Short Films 1-7 which are artistic cinematic shorts. You don't have to go in depth to the BU and can opt to focus on the end-product. Suggesting snce you love backlighting, camera movement, shot composition, lighting etc. (No dancing). Lol There's also Heartbeat which is for their BTS World game. There's a lot of CGI but for me it's a beautiful MV. Makes me cry thinking how different things could've been if BTS didn't happen. But 💜ARMY💜 in the house are right about Daechwita. EPIC. 🤩 Then the behind the scenes and interview just cherries on top. YEAH! 👍 More power to you!
I really liked this reaction! I always enjoy when you get really into the technical stuff using your expertise as a filmmaker, it’s really fascinating. The part where you pointed out the zoom with the mountains getting bigger in the background blew my mind. Thanks for a great video!
I binge watched all your BTS videos yesterday and was so sad when I realized I watched everything. I kept checking your channel throughout the day, and was so excited when I saw you posted a new vid! I really enjoy your analysis and all the years I have been watching these videos, hundreds of times, you still point out things I never saw. I never saw the words Not Today on the building ! How did I miss that ??? Another insightful look into bts’s artistry. Thank you.
BTS is always known for high quality content, the deep meanings behind their songs and MVs and yeah the storyline that connects their mvs but Not Today is simply just a fight song on its own and not a part of the Bangtan Universe (BU). The Mvs that are part of this parallel universe has “BU content certified by Big Hit Entertainment” written on its description. So that’ll give you an idea if a BTS MV is part of the storyline they’ve built since 2015. I just wanna say I enjoy hearing your thoughts on their mvs as a filmmaker esp on the camera works which we tend to overlook most of the times. 😊 thank you I hope we’ll have Daechwita next 😉 It’s from BTS Suga’s mixtape but he’s called Agust D when working on his solo projects.
Thank you so much for all the explanations! Very infirmative! Also the video screen design, including the narrator's palcement, video placement, title placement etc. are aesthetically very pleasing.
I learned a lot about production, camera movement and such from your reaction videos. and it makes me appreciate the production crew a lot more. Looking forward to more reactions and insights.
I always look forward to your reactions and analysis of the MVs. I appreciate when you take the time to also watch the behind the scenes of the MV shoots. I also wish those behind the scenes were much longer as well, but at least they share the behind the scenes.
Other unbelievable MVs : 1_ daechwita by Suga aka agust d 2_ singularity by V ( a masterpiece) 3_ interlude : shadow by Suga 4_ daydream by j-hope 5_ persona by RM 6_ idol MV 7_ DNA MV 8_ war of Harmone MV
Just wanted to say, I'm enjoying your honest reactions and I'm learning a lot about how these music videos were made from you. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us!
I'm always excited to see your reactions because I worked in the film industry for three years (as a costume designer) and hearing about camera work and other things that people outside the film industry wouldn't notice just makes my heart warm 💜 I think you should check the short films the made for the WINGS album (this can be a bit of a maze so I suggest at least watching I need you and Run first, which are completely cinematic too). And also it's not on their official channel, but BTS WORLD Heartbeat is almost completely cinematic (mixing with some live shots). They really showcase their acting abilities in that one as well.
I recommend their music video for their song Film Out! It came out earlier this year and it’s gorgeous. It does connect to the BU but it can have its own standalone interpretation. Also, it’s in Japanese!
The song was actually inspired by Aragon's speech at the black gate in Lord of the Rings. The few lines in the beginning are very similar to what Aragon said. "A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. This day we fight!"
Some videos I'd love you to react to: Save Me (+ the making), WINGS Short Films, Daechwita and Interlude: Shadow. Loving your videos! The information and interpretations you give are really interesting
Always excited to watch your videos!! You point out a lot of things in these MVs that even ARMYs, best detectives ever, don't notice sometimes (like that writing of NOT TODAY on the building... it's the first time I noticed it only after you pointed it out lol). Can't wait for your next video!
Can you please add Serendipity teaser film to your list!!! - the visuals are amazing in it. Also, something outside of BTS but still kpop - I recommend Red Velvet's Psycho, it's a visual treat for any filmmaker
purple is bts' colour cause V from bts said this during a fan meet “Purple is the last of the rainbow colors, so it means I will love and trust u for a long time” and ever since then "i purple you" or the purple heart (borahae in korean) became this inside thing between bts and armys that brands use it around the world to indicate bts, Mcdonald's even currently has "a bts meal" where all the packaging is purple haha HYBE even filed for a copyright claim for it after another company tried to claim it so yeah this colour is a big deal for us
The lyrics aren't just along for the ride...they drive the action in the video. They use a quote from Martin L. King, if you can't fly... run, if you can't run ...walk, if you can't walk...crawl. RM tells us that this song " is for all the underdogs of the world." Inspiration on steroids. Great reaction, I enjoyed your explaination of visual direction through color and design. Stay well
I watched this video more than 20 times, and first time realised the big words "not today" printed on the exterior of the carpark podium. Your eyes are sharpe...
Korea is doing something different with their film industry; not just in Kpop but their movies too. The reason why I say this is I watched "End Game" behind the scenes and it made me upset at how much CGI was put into the film.
They actually quote Martin Luther King... if you can't fly, then run, if you can't run, then walk, if you can't walk, then crawl. The crow tit (a bird) that is referenced, is a metaphor for the lower class people in Korea. This is basically a fight song or anthem for the less privileged people of the world.

Lol
There's also Heartbeat which is for their BTS World game.
YEAH! 👍
More power to you!
Thank you.
Please watch their live performances all of the camera tricks, props and the production are on fire
i need u(original version) and butterfly on stage prologue-these two gave me a lot of emotions seriously
I think this video is so amazing because of the location. It's so special and beautiful and that mirror they put makes it even more so
BTS is always known for high quality content, the deep meanings behind their songs and MVs and yeah the storyline that connects their mvs but Not Today is simply just a fight song on its own and not a part of the Bangtan Universe (BU).
😊 thank you
I hope we’ll have Daechwita next 😉
It’s from BTS Suga’s mixtape but he’s called Agust D when working on his solo projects.
Thank you so much for all the explanations! Very infirmative! Also the video screen design, including the narrator's palcement, video placement, title placement etc. are aesthetically very pleasing.
I totally agree with you the camera movement is so crazy in this MV is like the cameraman has his own choreography
I just woke up you know. Please heartbeat by bts ✌️
Other unbelievable MVs :
1_ daechwita by Suga aka agust d
2_ singularity by V ( a masterpiece)
3_ interlude : shadow by Suga
4_ daydream by j-hope
5_ persona by RM
6_ idol MV
7_ DNA MV
8_ war of Harmone MV
You should check out Save Me. The camera choreography is crazy. It was all shot in 1 take. It has a making of MV as well.
looking forward to when he gets into all the story line stuff and picks up on all the similar elements woven into each of the MVs
I also suggest Daechwita, the video is stunning.
Been watching you since your studio videos. Well done for the consistency and grind. Glad you found a niche that's working for you 👌
Your reaction makes me thankful to bighit crew even more, respect.
Omg I'm first 😂 well sir I really like and appreciate your reactions thank you 💜
Just wanted to say, I'm enjoying your honest reactions and I'm learning a lot about how these music videos were made from you. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us!
Taehyung's "Singularity" MV should be amazing to react to
It's sooo visually pleasing, the colours are just wow
I'm always excited to see your reactions because I worked in the film industry for three years (as a costume designer) and hearing about camera work and other things that people outside the film industry wouldn't notice just makes my heart warm 💜
I think you should check the short films the made for the WINGS album (this can be a bit of a maze so I suggest at least watching I need you and Run first, which are completely cinematic too).
Purple is BTS favorite color. So we say, love you = Purple you
Ohhhh
Their video "Save Me" would be a good one for you to check out!
I think all of their music videos of worth reacting. From the very beginning until now. So you could really see how they and their mv have improved 🤗
when this out, I can't stop watching the MV 🤣
the song n d MV is really addictive
The song was actually inspired by Aragon's speech at the black gate in Lord of the Rings. The few lines in the beginning are very similar to what Aragon said. "A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day.
This day we fight!"
Borahae means that they and we love, trust and respect them and us.
Some videos I'd love you to react to: Save Me (+ the making), WINGS Short Films, Daechwita and Interlude: Shadow. Loving your videos! The information and interpretations you give are really interesting
8:44 They filmed this MV at real locations and that’s why you some snow falling while in other scenes they use effects for the sparkles
Not Today MV is my most fave BTS MV of all time
Always excited to watch your videos!!
I am glad you liked this one. Looking forward to see more🙂
yaaaaaaas!!! I´ve watched all your BTS reactions today jajajajaja and here I am.
purple is bts' colour cause V from bts said this during a fan meet “Purple is the last of the rainbow colors, so it means I will love and trust u for a long time” and ever since then "i purple you" or the purple heart (borahae in korean) became this inside thing between bts and armys that brands use it around the world to indicate bts, Mcdonald's even currently has "a bts meal" where all the packaging is purple haha
HYBE even filed for a copyright claim for it after another company tried to claim it so yeah this colour is a big deal for us
The lyrics aren't just along for the ride...they drive the action in the video.
Run, I Need You, Young Forever, Film Out and the LOVE YOURSELF Highlight Reel ! Those are super important for all the theories.
I saw a comment that reminded of one of my favorite BTS MVs. You should really react to heartbeat.
I learn a lot through your reactions, thank you. 😊💜
Korea is doing something different with their film industry; not just in Kpop but their movies too. The reason why I say this is I watched "End Game" behind the scenes and it made me upset at how much CGI was put into the film.
The Worldclass performancer & super boy group~~ BTS~~!!^^!!♥
On screen: members getting shot
Reaction: So purple hearts..... ooh specks everywhere
lol xD
I love your reaction 💜
Always looking forward to your reactions, glad you liked it, ✌️💜💜💜💜
