You have to watch the behind the scene of this MV shoot, I swear its just magical because all you see is real. Nothing of that is really green screen and thats what makes BTS so special. They do everything to let us feel every second of their songs!

Thank you so much for this reaction! Fake Love era was when I first started listening to BTS and it definitely has a special place in my heart, and it's also a masterpiece. The song that made me definitely an army was The Truth Untold, it's from the same album as Fake Love, and it's based on a beautiful fictional story called The Smeraldo Flower. The song is performed by the vocal line and it's a gorgeous and heartbreaking ballad, I hope you give a listen to it.

Not sure if any one else may have mentioned this, but since I know you guys really like there dancing, the really unique and cool fact about the choreo in this song is that it is a dance center around a Marinette, you know a puppet on strings. They said this was a challenging choreo to do, because its not just just the movements themselves, but its about the meaning. The puppet aspect, but also if you pay attention closely you will see that they cover their eyes, ears, mouth in some of the moves. This all of course is representative of the theme and topic of the song itself. It is very conceptual!!!
There are other kpop groups like to do covers of this song, infact their is a video showing jhope mentoring and helping to teach the choreo, etc...., for another younger group just trying to cover this song. And thats how I learned more about the marinette part specifically. Because jhope goes into that, and tells the group about it, to help them know how to really portray this choreo correctly, in movement but also through their expressions. It is a pretty short clip. You guys should check it out. If I can find the link I will come back and leave it in the comment below.

The behind the scenes making of this video is great- it shows how they did the effects (real, not CGI), like the floor falling behind JK.
Definitely still one of my fave songs from them in terms of overall song and message, concept, choreography, performances/staging, fashion, everything.
I recommend for you to do next dimple and pied piper live performances next. God, there are so much content of bts and each member to choose from. I'm going to make you a list of some great ones you haven't done yet.

fake love doesn't necessarily mean you're faking love or affection, but recognizing or coming to the conclusion that it's not love on your part.
that's one way to view it, cause there are multiple layers to the song.
So many things to explain:
Love Yourself Trilogy is a 3 album series, the first part talks about new love, growing love. The second part is about the sorrow that come from love, discovering that you aren't who you intended to be. The 3rd part is about realizing true love can only come after you learn to love yourself. "Fake Love" is a large part of series. BTS performed this song for the first time at the Billboard Music Awards.
Bangtan Universe: The Bangtan Universe is a fictional storyline that takes place over various formats in BTS' works, from music videos, short on stage videos for concerts, small snippets were included in CD packaging... it eventually developed into a webtoon, a video game and a 2 part novel. Soon there will be a TV show based on this story line. The music video for Fake Love is part of these contents, it is a little more fantastical than the other parts, maybe as its from the internal perspective of the characters, so we see their world a little more from within their own heads. But it's a good story, with so many beautiful parts.
Save me/ I'm fine: In one part of the music video you can see the words "Save Me" scribbled on the wall, when flipped upside-down it reads "I'm fine", these are the titles to 2 BTS tracks, it's hard to explain the genius of them, but they are contrasting songs and how they mirror each other is really creative.
There synchronization is TOP TIER! They move like one person (which ain't easy). In their practices they are so intricate and detailed that they practice on where they should be LOOKING during in each move so that their eyes are synced! Next level intricate 🔥🙌🏽🔥🙌🏽

The part were Joonkook is runing and the floor is falling that was real no CGI he did have a safety haressness in case he tripped but he had to run fast as each section of the floor fell away. They brushed out his safety harness in post production.
The hands on the background picture form "see/hear/speak no evil", and is reflected in the choreo.
Is in line with the fake love theme - of ignoring the negative an pretending everything is ok.
Also, I'd watch the behind the scenes of this video. The practical effects and the live rigs they use are epic.

There is a hidden story line that runs through the BTS MVs called the Bangtan Universe/BU. It's a fictional story that started in 2015 that we had to interpret/research. Fake Love is part of the story, so the Snickers, the water, the fire, the phones on the wall, etc... all relate to the story. It's just another layer in the MVs, that you can check out, or ignore it and just enjoy the MVs without diving even deeper into the BTS rabbit hole.
Fake Love is so perfectly executed.
This is widely regarded as the best song they've made. When Hybe sent out fan surveys and social media polls ahead of the group's anthology album 'Proof' and their collab with benny blanco, this song had the top vote. Personally, this is also my favorite music video, I really love the build after the cut scene and how they get so close to the camera when dancing. Still gives me goosebumps, every time.
The song is about how you fake it not how the other hurt you, to put it simple. Is about how you behave for the pleasure of the other(cause you love them) how you misrepresent yourself... That is fake love

I remember bang pd( founder of their company) making an agreement with the members saying that they wanted to make top quality videos, performances etc for the fans to not only show their appreciation but also they didn't want to create content that they would be embarrassed of. So they always try and one up themselves each time they deliver something new.

Anyone else in the US not happy w/ radio not playing so we came late to the global party? Luckily, I was reintroduced to BTS on Fallon & AMAs. I caught a quick glimpse in 2015? from a RUclipsrs react. I was into JPop then & the debut MV was good but for me the guns & chains was another B2K. Yes, I kicked myself. Then Fallon & AMA DNA , Jimmin & V had me down the rabbit hole.

Hey guys, been watching your reactions since you started with BTS, and not sure if anyone told you this but the guy whose voice you keep speaking about and who you keep noticing is Jimin, the guy who did Set me free and Like crazy. It makes sense you keep noticing his voice because you loved Set me free as well!
Also the rapper who rapped after RM in the first verse was J Hope, and the guy who rapped in the second verse after RM was Suga/AgustD (the guy who you thought was j Hope). You haven't checked out any of J Hope's solo stuff yet :)

The amazing thing about them it’s not just the visual or something else they did so much MV without greenscreen many K-pop groups do that they just use them when there is no other way you can watch the behind the scenes videos
Love your reaction and your comments. You said at minute14:01 that they make sure to got the best in everything. That's so true, and that's what made me stay in this k-world, because for me now it's just not BTS, it's also other k-artist and k-dramas. They're fantastic. Better than any Hollywood movie. And talking about BTS for me it was incredible the creativity behind everything they do. I'm 49 years old and from Latin America and I really love music in general, but lately it's difficult for me to connect with any artist, because from my perspective they focus only on superficial stuff and sex and stupid lyrics, and the excuse is "that is what people like nowday and I hate that thought because if you want there's always a better way to do anything. BTS created an alternative universe in their videos where they tell a story connected. For me that's creativity beyond the limits. Only Michael Jackson did things like that.

Just watched both your Fake Love reactions. I, like you, really enjoy the dance practices cuz you get to watch everyone, and together, unlike the MV's and most lives, where the camera work cuts to different people and other things. The MV's are so cool, cuz so many of them are like mini movies, so well done, and there's typically so very much symbolism in them. I think watching the live performances are still my favorite though. I just love seeing what they can do in.

This song is from the album "Love Yourself: Tear", which is part of the trilogy Love Yourself, which has a great concept and narrative.
"Love Yourself: Tear" itself is phenomenal. There are a lot of favorites on this one, but I'll just mention the three standouts:
* "Outro: Tear" by the rapline, the live performance at Wembley. This is one of their most iconic performances, very emotional and just spectacular. I'm not even exaggerating.
* "Truth Untold" by the vocal line, a heartbreaking ballad that fantastically showcases each of their vocals. Find the stage mix.
* "Singularity" by V, a neo-soul song that will just lull you with the music and his husky, sultry voice. His stage performance is captivating, to say the least.

What's amazing with BTS MVs is that majority of the shot is real props and locations. They will use effects if it's important to the story. For example, the dropping floor in the hallway is real not visual effects. They have a behind the scene video the Fake Love where they built it. " I can't sing". But he kept working with her and she discovered the most amazing voice. He finally believed he could sing and became her favorite student because he worked so hard.
