It's growing bud :) ...I was thinking as I was editing there's so many little side bets going on here! Was happy to see it mentioned within 20 minutes too hahahah ...thank you mate!
Been a clubmaker for over 25 years. The axiom is an enormous break thru in graphite composite shafts. By far the best shaft I have played and tested (105x in #2). Another smart feature is the slight progressive weighting of the shafts through the set that should distribute the moi balance of the club better.
Agreed... I think more Tour players will adopt very soon ....They have indeed, done it properly eh :) I'm debating full set next year ...but I also want to burn the heads bronze on my new sticks but don't know if the ZXi7 will take it ....if they do... I'll treat myself to both hehe
Cheers Freddie, excellently explained but thankfully for my wallet we found little difference between the recoil Dart and the Axioms when I was down. Now if I work on my swing speed……..
Really great vidoe and insights throughout. Great swing as well. If you haven’t watched the axiom vs steel video you should go back and take it in - must watch if you want to understand axiom. I think people have turned their noses up on Axiom generally because they were expecting it to be a revolution in an iron in the way that it was for the woods - ie, length and immediate pro adoption. It’s not a length solution. However in what it is, it is revolutionary - a steel replacement with amazing rigidity and feel in lighter weight housing. The point about the dividends it will play over the course of 18 holes is SPOT ON. At this point I went through a slow process to test and eventually game the axiom in my u500 4i and T150 5 iron. In a few minutes Freddie came to the conclusion I arrived at through several months of slow testing. Today I can’t say enough about the axiom, blends seamlessly into my set (PX 6.0 steel in gap-6i) for feel and results, and the only question I’ve been left with is whether I should come down in the set with it. Similar in my mind to a combo set of heads. I will definitely be trying in 6i next and may come all the down to 7 or 8 we’ll see. Great video!
I've been working my demo kit one by one to get more options hehe ...I'm feeling a full set next year and then also actually play some proper tournament golf :)
Great comparison video. Would love to see a comparison between LA Golf 105X, Axiom 105X. And MMT 105TX. Reason being is the MMT is available from both Titleist and TaylorMade as custom options. Much more difficult and costly to get LA Golf and Axiom.
@chucksmerdon6256 Very true!!! I'll have more access as time goes on Currently I can't order Titleist and Taylormade so I'm stumped on them unless a customer has them and wants to let me hit them for half an hour! 😋 I constantly order Axiom so have built up a good demo matrix for them 😎.... extras will be as and when Unless any nlbrands read this and want to send samples haha 😄 I'm miles off of that 😅
@FredzGolf Thanks for the reply. Yeah, currently playing LA Golf A series 105X in a P770 head. I want the new P7CB irons BUT, I need graphite. In a perfect world, I would just custom order from TM w the MMT 105TX. Just not sure they will work like I want. In any case, I'll be watching....thanks again.
@FredzGolf don't be daft really appreciate you doing the comparison. So taking away what you have said basically the axiom weight for weight flex for flex is just abit more stable. I really like the idea of it being a right sided setup too not as easy to turn over. My miss is a hook. The place I had a fitting with called me up and rebooted me for another fitting at different site free of charge so get to try them both again. I'm playing the project x lz 6.0 in my I atm seem ok really nice feel but. Something abit easier on the joints but as stable would be nice. Thanks for doing the comparison. I'm in Manchester so will try and get down for a fitting or something when I'm down south
If my normal miss is right would the axiom help elevate or minimize it so it’s not so drastic on a bad strike. Or would the mmt be the better option for that right miss ?
Honestly, I feel like the jump would be quite subtle and you would'nt feel much benefit, relative to the cost as well ...The MMT in TX is a proper shaft and not the normal stuff that comes in a stock graphite set It's a hard one to compare as not many places will have both! I'll see if I can source a TX MMT but it's a slim chance off the top of my head
@@FredzGolf Thank you for your answer. When I was building my set (Mizuno 223), the Axioms had been launched, but where not available. BUT in general, I am coming from Project X 6.5 and NEVER want to go back to steel! Performance and feel of graphite is so much better for somebody old but fast swinging.
So I currently game the Mizuno 225 w Steelfiber i95 stiff shafts. I am thinking of going a bit heavier (my miss is generally long left and I feel I might not be getting enough height or launch). I’m thinking of either Axiom 105 or MMT 105. Would this be a good idea or would you recommend something else? Thank you!
Hmmmm, the e tra weight would definitely hold the ball to the right compared to the SteelFibers! Potentially reduce closure of the face, so maintain more loft as well I'd say the MMT would do that a bit and the Axiom would do it more! ...Would you happen to have anywhere nearby that has some to hit (even in different heads)
I'd love to get involved with the Accra line up ..Just haven't got the cash to commit to their first batch order to be a stockist! I got approved but didn't have the dollar bills handy... Soon!
@ wanting a touch more height. Ive hit mmt and didnt like the feel personally. Was the 105 in stiff. I play the modus 105 now and it feels better than the graphite honestly. Hard to describe.
Curious to get your opinion. Currently fit into T100S irons w/ X100 DG shafts. I have played S400 also. I have elbow/joint issues setting in. Looking at some "stock" options to get with a new set and sell my current. Curious on your thoughts going from my current steel to like a MMT 105TX or Steelfiber i110.... I haven't seen the MMT125 as an option and I dont know I can swing the upgrade to Axiom. Thanks for any insight.
It's a good way to go ...I like the MMT 105TX, I had a guy with a set the crushes the ball and he liked the ease, without loosing the stability Steelfibre i110 would be more like the S400 alternative, again they are easier on the wallet compared to Axiom Another factor I'd think about is grip pressure, do you squeeze the club hard? Could contribute to the elbow issues! Have a look at these two vids if you get a minute! ruclips.net/video/vWsRPPAdlr8/видео.html ruclips.net/user/shortskkAbc0mIz90
@@FredzGolf appreciate the reply and video links! I actually got a chance to hit some options. They didn’t have the 105tx, but had the 125tx and 105s, the newer steel fiber i110. Tried a couple others also. The SF did feel the best, but had a $50 up charge per club. Went back and forth with the 105s. The 125tx was too much and I didn’t want to have to work that hard to activate it (I would keep my x100). Ended up getting similar results with the mmt 105s, but I think the SF was a bit smoother and buttery. Very happy and ready for my clubs to come in.
@Voorhees2002 Awesome!!! Best way is to actually hit them, like you have :) If i can create awareness and help you to try the right things in the first place, happy days
@joeyfranchini7499 I've done a few fittings with people using the DG 105 S300 shafts ...Most of the time the Axiom 75S dominates in that fitting and Axiom 105S is harder to "activate"
@FredzGolf When you say it dominates, in what way do you mean? Also, what exactly do you mean by 105S is harder to "activate"? Thank you very much for your response, it means a lot.
@FredzGolf awesome, thank you for the info. I'm 30 years old and we're told light graphite shafts are for older individuals but it seems like Axiom defies that logic with their technology.
Freddie! You are the best. You make casual comments that cause light bulbs to go on. Still wishing for your channel's growth. Seems deserved.

Great review. Thank you. Curious how the Axiom match up against the Graphite Design 95.
That's a great question, I've not had much dealings with the Tour AD iron shafts ...If I happen across one, I'll get a video out :)
Not even watched it yet but your a legend thanks

10\10 Great analysis.
Cheeeeeeeers bruh :)
If my normal miss is right would the axiom help elevate or minimize it so it’s not so drastic on a bad strike. Or would the mmt be the better option for that right miss ?
What is your normal miss right with? Just need a point of reference for current shaft that creates that flight :)
How would you compare the MMT 105TX to the Axiom 105X, I am undecided, if I want to switch from MMT to Axiom.

Hey Freddie could you do a comparison video on the UST Mamiya Dart V vs Fujikura Axiom?
That is a great idea ...I'll see if my suppliers have them ...I've not come across them in the flesh yet!
hi I am using taylormade M2 graphite stock shaft. I was thinking of moving to p790 stiff graphite shafts. would that make a difference
It would make a difference ...hard to tell for better or worse without testing ...Have you got a retailer nearby where you can go and compare?

Try the accra TZI 105 and 115. Just put them in my irons and are as good as the axioms IMO and half the price

@@FredzGolf agreed - true temper makes it incredibly difficult to obtain their shafts. Accra is no bad though.
Freddie which graphite shaft would you recommend for 83/84 swing speed with a 7 iron around 1/2 degrees down ? No local fitting centers here. Thanks
Hmmm... Tricky to recommend from there... What shafts have you currently got? What flight / Direction / Height do you get from them?

Harder to activate: react/bend/harder to hit
