Playing Professional. I have been using the Axiom 105x in Titleist 620 MB (muscle back) P-6 iron (2 degrees strong), and T100s 5 and 4. I have always been a Rifle 6.5 shaft person as I can manipulate shots and angles and like a little more flat trajectory. I have been waiting for a graphite shaft to be more punchy and flat with consistent spin rate. The shafts come out 5 to 10 ft higher but go a little farther and have a better decent angle into the greens. These Axiom’s are awesome and other graphite/hybrid shafts aren’t anywhere close. I think more high level players will start adapting to these and now to have a graphite shaft that works in a muscle back. Also, as someone that would normally have gone to the Axiom 125x I tested the 105 because they weren’t on back order. I absolutely love the 105 and shocked about the performance. So don’t be biased on thinking you need the 125 as you might be shocked the 105 is really good! Cheers
I would actually put a little money down that Ian would like the 105 better than the 125 if he did a blind test over a few weeks testing. He would just have to turn off his internal bias and techy brain. 😂 Or he might find no difference. I also forgot to mention that even on slight miss hits with these irons on muscle backs I’m seeing less distance loss. For a miss hit with the 6.5 Rifle I could see 10 yards give or take loss in distance were with the Axiom I’m seeing 5 yards give or take loss. Thats phenomenal from a performance perspective.

I’ve been a 6.0 PX player and the 105s is the best shaft I’ve ever tried. Bought a 105s, 105x, and 125x to test. All great but the 105s feels like cheating. I agree that we will start seeing a lot of these in bags next year.
Really valuable review. Have Play Modus 105-S and 1050’s before that since 2008. Axiom Mid iron shaft arrived today and will throw that into the old MP20-MB 7 iron for some compare and contrast with the current i230’s. Hoping for the same stability, little tighter dispersion and something a little easier on the wrists and elbows. 👍🏼
105 is what I wanted to see tested. Anyone can make a 130 gram shaft and make it stable, the magic would be making a 105 that can perform too.

Absolutely nailing the content recently - really enjoying the videos at the moment. Seriously considering graphite with T150s now, despite the nosebleed cost!
Good work. As a fellow club fitter we have to keep changing our own equipment, it’s in the rules! I switched from KBS 120s to Axiom 105s I felt on certain shots the face would close to quickly with the KBS but with the Axiom the Velocore helps prevent the face closing. I started with testing 8 and 6 iron now have the rest of the set to build. Yes they are expensive but the shafts will be used for a few seasons.

I switched from x100 to la golf 120x in my Taylormade p760s and I couldn’t be happier. I’d say everyone needs to give graphite shafts a try
Y'all nailed another vid, thank you. Would love to try these shafts in my P790's but cost is the biggest issue. These are defiantly on a wanted bucket list.
My last didn't post for some reason.
I just put Axiom 105 stiff in a split set of Mizuno Pros. 221 P,9,8 223 7,6,5 225 4i. These shafts just feel different, so stable its almost off putting, but unbelievable how nice this set feels. I don't buy irons often, and with this set I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.
I have a 105tx in my driving iron, feels amazing. My 125x are on back order but I'm pumped.
I have a set of Miura CB501 irons 3-P and put the Axiom 105X in them and they are incredible. They feel and perform way better than they did with the KBS Tour 130X in them.
Ian I know you just got those T150s/T200 but Ian. Put these in the bag holy. Absolutely dialed. Need a head to head against your current gamers and then the axioms in the 150s as well
Great vid guys - keen to see the axioms in the new 150’s as a way to compare to 760’s - stats would probably be the same but more to see how u feel they perform in comparison
+1 for hoping TM brings the P760's back. I also wouldnt mind the P730 coming back, too.
Picking up 105x in a new set of Forged Tec X heads next week... absolute monsters in the fit.
I’ve been using the LA Golf graphite iron shafts all year and I’m sold. I’ll NEVER go back to steel. Trajectory, launch, spin, ball speed, everything is exactly where I want it to be. Perfect for me. As an added bonus, I dealt with the worst golfers elbow when using steel shafts. I no longer have an issue with it anymore since using the graphite. Every now and then I’ll get a sting but, it goes away almost instantly. I used to suffer all season when I used steel. I would have to take days and even weeks off. Since switching to graphite I’ve never had to take any days off.
I’ll never go back to steel ever again

I'm a new golfer, started in Feb, and have been playing practically every day. Stix clubs with very light graphite shafts. I did a True Spec fitting a few weeks ago completely blind to any shaft knowledge, brand awareness, or bias so I could select shafts 100% based on feel. Every strike with Axiom made me smile, it was wild. I'd love to see a back-to-back comparison of the 125's and 105's with the same heads.

Absolutely make sure you have a good builder if you’re going to get axioms. Had a 125x put into a p7mb 7i at a local golf shop. I had to take it back to them 5 times because the head of the iron kept breaking loose. The taper job wasn’t done right on the shaft.
Came for the Axiom review, left grinning from ear to ear about the P760 praise party! 🎉 Best irons I’ve ever owned, haven’t found anything that can beat them in 4 years! TaykorMade definitely has a huge gap in their offering between P7MC and P770 not carrying these forward 👎🏻
I think trying Axiom in T150’s is last step before jumping ship

I put the Axiom (105S) in my last set of irons about 6 weeks ago. I will be putting them in my new T150/T200 set tonight. Thanks for the great videos.

I have this shaft in my 2 iron
It took a little bit to get used too. Felt like a smooth load, doesn’t like an aggressive fast load from myself at least. But the miss hits off the toe was stupid stable I am always confident that I’m going to have a shot come out that is going to range from good to great.
how does it feel compared to di driving iron and ventus hb
@@jadenngl unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to compare against those other two. So I couldn’t say. I was using an old Adila Pro VS by You blue. Before it broke and switch to this. Just in the dark taking the risk. But with a few sessions. It was easy to dial it in the part that makes the difference for me is just how stable the tip really is while being able to launch it high. I many use it for long par 3s 200-240 because it seems easier to control flight and spin over using my 6wood and I really love that thing. I also live in a place where it tends to be 20mph wind half the season
LOVE my P760’s and I’m thinkin about doing the same test vs my DG 105 s300..
Ian could do a great full bag head to head.
A TaylorMade bag with the P760s, the new wedges Stealth woods and a Titleist bag with the T150s, Sm9 Vokeys and TSR4.
Maybe as an on course better ball match for Ruder Cup week.

There was so much hype around these shafts and everyone gave them a positive review, so why is no one playing them??? Not one TOUR player right now is using them right now which seems ludicrous

Have you tried an Axiom shaft on a driving iron? Very interested in seeing that vs a fujikira hyb velo shaft especially with the price difference. Specs read like they support a 2-iron in the long profile as well?
Great video! I use Recoil F4 and love it. But Axiom is just a bit too much $$$.
I noticed Ian’s SS was 2-3 mph faster when between the 9i to 8i.
Why is that?

Always wondered how the P760 compare to my TC-201? Leading edge relieve looks similar. Which iron is more forgiving? Turf interaction and off center strikes?
Would the 125x be good for someone that flips between kbs c taper 125stiff+ and 130x?
Man, graphite just keeps getting better and better. I prefer it in almost every way. The feel isn't better or worse than steel, just different. I would never go back to steel shafts at this point.
Ian / Mikey... do you build your own graphite iron sets to the same length as your steel sets?
P760 are nice but PING S55 & iBlade are the best example of tour staying power. Worth buying in 2023 and 2024.

How do you guys feel about using axiom shafts in wedges
Ian will let go of any club for any minute improvement and he let those 760s go years ago. Gotta give axiom the love for making him feel they were great again. One more point, everyone should try LA golf’s putter shaft in a premium head, same deflection minimizing and vibration dampening properties that Ian was describing, along with great feel.
i see you can order these shafts in long irons (2-4) mid irons (5-7) short irons (8-w). Ive been wanting to shortenen my 4 and 5 iron to my 6 iron length. just curious if id order the (long iron shaft ) for my 4 iron and butt trim to desired length or if id just order the mid iron axiom shafts to then have trimmed? Id take them to a prefossional to have the work done.

How many auto flex iron shafts do you guys build and sell?
Playing Modus 105-S so very interested in how the Axiom 105 measure up to that. Would like something that is a little easier on joints. Thinking of getting older set MP20-MB 7iron set up with the shaft to test. Might suite well into the new i230’s 🤔
Those and the graphite KBS were the two that felt most similar to the Axioms in my fitting. The Axioms just felt... different, and better. Still can't explain why, but they are just ridiculously stable I guess?
Single Axiom 105-S just arrived and might look to give it a whirl and put it into the i230 6-7iron and see how the numbers stack up. Now just need to find someone in London I trust to build it as don’t know many people who will tinker with Ping builds.
@@seancook2264 Club champion built mine to my fitted specs here in the US. I'm sure any reputable build shop can do it well, I'd just stear clear of the big retailers and second hand shops. Usually not the best club builders.

Gents, the weight of 130 gr is for the full 42 inch(?) blank I presume? Obviously as you trim the blanks there is less weight. I would guess the 9 iron shaft weight would be in 85/90 gram weight or am I mistaken?

Can you put these shafts in a hybrid?
I also bought Fujikura Axion 105S Shaft fitted for new Taylor Made P790. BUT it is 12 Yards shorter than my old Taylor Made P790 (2022) with Mitsubishi Chemical OT 90S. So, be careful it you think you can gain distance by buying AXIOM.

i love my T100-s irons but absolutely do not like the project x lz shafts ive been thinking of getting a shaft fitting.. i had a bad fitter Golf galaxy i do not recommend..

@@freddym6643 the tip is more active on axiom and it was actually giving me a little left ti right miss the dart was extremely stable i could go at it hard or slow and it just produced my 5 yard draw I like you could put a blanket over then it also felt really good

According to MGS (I believe) despite the Ventus popularity, it's actually Mitsuibishi leading the way on tour, not Fujikura

I still don't quite understand how you put a 370 shaft in a 355 head. Are you tip trimming to fit? Or am I missing something?
You sand a slight taper on the lower portion of the tip. No structural effect whatsoever.

Right?! We've definitely seen a lot of high ball speeds and extremely tight dispersions with this shaft here in our bays!

I couldn’t agree with you guys more about custom built clubs. Too bad my experience at club champion has been awful. The most poorly built clubs I’ve seen. Probably just a fluke for the company but they won’t do anything to help me out. I’m a +6 and I’ve worked in golf my whole life. I know you guys probably can’t do anything but I’m just ranting at this point

I am a assistant golf pro. I couldn’t go on staff with Taylormade because they are missing the p760 range. I wish they would add them back. By the time they do I will be out of the market
