    Great video! Curious if what you we're doing is getting the CPM, then sorting the lower cpm shafts with the lower lofted irons within the 3 different parallel sets, then tip trimming based off the trim guide? Do you prefer that then tip trimming to a certain cpm point and building a linear line throughout the set?? Sorry for the long question. it's just hard to find someone who knows this stuff and has been building so long.

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  6 месяцев назад +4

      Yea no worries! I'll try to explain! So you seem to have a good grasp of what's going on, you pretty much nailed it. I'm CPM'ing the shafts before just to make sure there are no anomalies and then I put the lower CPM shafts in the higher clubs. For this I use Fujikuras tip trimming guides and sometimes have to do very minimal adjustments to get a linear CPM blend. If you ever have any in depth questions or what to chat, feel free to call the shop anytime and ask for DJ! Hope this helps!

    You can keep a cut grip laying around for swingweight and be able to slap it around the shaft instead of setting it below. Love watching build videos super cool.

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  8 месяцев назад

      that is another good option. We usually use the exact grip that is going to go on the club to be precise, but in this case we ended up switching to another grip last minute but the weights were nearly identical so we didn’t have to re-do the swing weight. We also put a rolled up piece of tape in the grip to mimic the weight of the tape as well. 🤘🏼

    • @sparticus757
      @sparticus757 8 месяцев назад +1

      Every grip has a slightly different gram weight plus I throw in however many wraps of tape I’m using inside the grip. I deal with players that are exact can’t allow for any deviations brother.

    This is the exact set up I've been testing in our studio, I just need to get in touch with our Miura rep to find out the pricing on the qpq 502s. The Axiom works so well with them. Swing weight is ridiculous with the heads though, my set up is E1. I'm looking at the BB&F custom aluminum ferrules, and Grip Master Roo grips cant decide on the red or green.

    Did you record the individual shaft weights after tipping (if required) and butt cutting? I’m curious what the installation weights were.

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  8 месяцев назад

      Nope, with the Axioms the tipping is so minimal that the weight isn’t affected as much as it would be with a traditional .370 shaft. In this case the client was more focused on the swing weight rather than the total weight. Hope that helps!

    I've been wondering. How does a golfer have their clubs custom built? Do they have to go to a fitter and get recommendations for what type of shafts to be fitted in their clubs?

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  3 месяца назад

      You have a few options, the best option is to go get a fitting and when you’re finished you will get the recommendation for the optimal club head / shaft combination for your swing and desired ball flight. We have people call in and place orders all the time once they’ve went through this process. Then you can do the customization part like picking out ferrules and grips 👍🏼

    what was that tape?? and what was that spray you used?? is that masking tape or is it Double sided, or just treated with something that is activated by the spray?
    I change my own grips, but I'm only using Masking tape with air, not always stable. Still learning. any advice would be appreciated>

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  5 месяцев назад

      I have always used 2 inch double sided tape. being aware of the tapes thickness is key so that you know what your final grip sizes will be when using tape to build grips up. as for the spray it’s odorless mineral spirits. it’s safer than lighter fluid, and quickly evaporates. it’s needed to break the friction between the tape and grip.

    • @LoggerheadGolf
      @LoggerheadGolf  7 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks! So for the Axiom shafts Fujikura has a VERY minimal tipping chart. They have 3 lengths for iron shafts (short, mid, and long) and you run all of these in a build. The most you tip each one would be 1 inch and then you butt trim to your desired total length. By mixing in the various lengths of shafts and barely having to tip each shaft, it gives you a consistent feel across all of your irons. Hope that helps!

    not exacting on the tape. Good players can feel when there's a rib or it hasn't be pressed flush down.
