The lines on the front of Matty’s shirt not lining up is messing with me! 😆
Something's just wrong with your screen. It lines up for me!
@@lawbinson Now YOU’RE messing with me!
@@discr1709 😂
He probably got it on sale! 😆
Mikey really flexed his knowledge on this. Cool to hear that
Best part of the channel - Mikey in front of the camera. Mike would love to see you hit the 105’s
The review the industry has been waiting for!
😂
I thought we were all waiting for the new Kirkland ball...
Nah the new tpt red is the review the world wants
I have the Axiom 105 S in my Srixon wedges… the feel and perform unbelievably 👍👍👍
I’ll definitely be putting the Axiom 105S into my Srixon MKll ZX5s 5-W. Tested shafts in my Cleveland wedges👍👍🤤
@@seanrahilly1386 what was your previous iron shafts?
@@seanbecker8328 I had Accra I-steel 105 shafts in my previous Vokey’s and Steel fiber 105 private Reserve shafts in my JP Premier wedges… I prefer the Cleveland’s with the Axiom 105 shafts 🤤
Currently playing LA Golf A-series 105 stiff shafts in a set of Mizuno Pro 225 irons and this combo is one of the best sets of irons I've ever had/hit. I tried KBS TGI 95G shafts previously after switching from Nippon Modus Tour 105 stiff due to hand and wrist and elbow pain. Graphite iron shafts are definitely easier on the joints and feel great and the heavier weights are comparable to steel or better in stability and accuracy. They are expensive though and will set you back a few hundred more dollars for an iron build compared to high quality steel shafts. Pro Soft inserts in my Modus 105 Tours was a reasonable fix that was a lot cheaper, but still did not give me the ease on my joints that graphite shafts gave me. Currently building a set of Miura CB 302's with Axiom 105 Stiff shafts, and can't wait to hit them.(Yes, if you look up "Golf Equipment Ho" you'll see my picture!) Thanks for the great reviews TXG!
REALLY need to see these go up against the MMT 125 TX. If they lower the peak height a touch then get your build station ready Mikey I have another set for you :)
fuji is bigly better than mitsubishi.
I put the 75R in my 7,8,9 irons as well as my 5,6 hybrids and absolutely love them. They go super straight with a mid flight for me. Had to increase the loft a little on the hybrids(apex 21s) to get a slightly higher flight and descent angle, as I use these on approach shots. For my pitching and gap wedges, I use BGT ZNE 90, which are also super straight and accurate. As I have gotten older (63 now) and my swing speed has gotten slower, I have found that graphite shafts have really helped my game. I figure if you have the best equipment at least that isn't the problem :).
Appreciate this one lads thank you. I've been playing Steelfibers for 10+ years so excited to try these!
Mirrors my experience and impressions of it near exactly. Good discussion about it gents. Appreciated.
great video, really would like to see a comparison video with the other high end higher weight graphite shafts such as mmt, dart , steel fibre,
As a Graphite junkie that was Awesome👍👍
We just got it in 2 weeksish ago and damn is it smooth. I hit it so well in the 125 X. Wish it didn't cost so damn much.
I use mmt, swapped my 105 modus out of my hmbs for 105 mmt s soft stepped and was a world of difference
I have had i95 steelfibres for 12 years and they've moved irons twice
I’ve been playing the Fuji pro 115 ts for a few years now. I am interested in these but not 100% on how I would build my set? The pro has a low balance point and sw is almost identical to dg x100. After the shoulder reconstruction I’m done with steel. It’s night and day on your joints. Graphite is going to extend my playing career by more than a decade.
Great video, love graphite iron videos. However, the steelfiber private reserve are definitely on the pricey side for graphite iron shafts.
Question guys: Do you think graphite in irons will eventually supersede and replace steel, or will there always be a place for steel shafts? Cheers and great video! 😊
If the price remain this high😂YES always a place for steel
I think in order for that to happen, it will need to happen on tour 1st. Which, with how things are progressing in a positive manner plus the benefits of less wear and tear on the body...I think it has potential to happen.
In order for the cost to come down enough for the general public to pay for it, the demand needs to be high enough to be manufacturing enough shafts to bring cost down. Maybe 10-15 years you will begin to see a 50/50 split.
need a video vs LA golf and the new ust shaft dart v
Would be great to see Mikie do a Modus 105 & Axiom 105 comparison
Would be interesting to see these vs fujikura pro graphite which are half the price and very well received by users
My question as well. Currently game 115x Tour Specs, like them a lot, and wondering the differences.
Would love to see these compared to mmt
Great shaft got to hit it in a recent fitting!
Been really excited for these but $105 minimum per shaft is super high (but understandable). Hoping more graphite iron shafts become available at a more normalized price
Mmt is 60 per shaft
@@autumnstar9475 I know a few pros bagged the MMTs for a bit, but it seems like most have moved back to steel. Anyone have a review or an idea of how they perform?
@@phynamite9 I have try them (105 stiff ) on my Srixon Z745 and they felt dead to me…no pop, no feel, and shorter than my KBS C-Taper S -120 …I’m 55 years old with a elbow issue and I taugh those shafts would yelp but I’ve put back my KBS and not returning to MMTs for sure .
@@phynamite9 they are the graphite version of X100 but 125g. The reason why most pros switch back to steel is because they are used to a certain weight of shaft ie X100 is 130g.
Graphite shafts are not cheap. These are advertised for $105 to $125 apiece. Have you reviewed other graphite iron shafts, such as for example the UST Mamiya Recoil Dart and the Recoil 760/780 Smacwrap shafts? Many of us want to find shafts that will improve our game but also have to keep a sharp eye on the budget, so while reviews of the latest high technology and high price shafts are of course interesting, it would be more helpful to see how shafts in the $45-$60 price range perform.
Matts swing is looking really nice here.
In the future can there be a comparison between these and LA golf shafts
Gotta compare them to the MMTs.
Ok Gents love the video. But This is what all of us graphite junkies want.
Please do a shootout video, putting these up against the Steelfibers, recoil darts, MMT’s, Accras, and the Fujikura pros.
Would love to try these
been waiting for this one!!!
Ust mamiya have just released an iron shaft with a 120g x flex option. Would be nice to see if they're as good as the axiom
Haha i play fuji pros in my zx7s packed with lead tape. Great shafts though probably be using these next set.
Video idea: Axiom, MMT LA Golf in 4i, 7i and PW to compare characteristics of each design.
Not sure why we can't get an EI Bend Profile of each weight class.
Graphite.. this is the way
With the high quality do they still need to be poured?
How do these compare to the LaGolf ones??
The price point is prohibitive but premium brands exists and someone is buying them. They will NOT be a game changer although many think they can buy a game.....and will keep spending $$$$
The first shot I hit was thin as well!! reduced toe down from the Velocore tip?
I'm in between this and the LA golf shafts. Im sceptical of Fujikura after breaking two Ventus Black shafts
Like mikey said. The balance point is crazy different. My fiance tried to build a set to standard length with edel and to get the swingweight and total weight to d4 and clubhweight to where he wanted it he had to use 3 of the 10g weights. Kind of defeated the whole point he thought
I had the swingweight prob with mmt iron shafts had to go 1/2 inch long and still had to go with lead tape to get to d3 irons just played to long going back to steel
I want these but I play Nippon 105 reg steel. I think these only come in stiff at the 105 weight.
Any idea of the balance point on the Axiom 105S, have not been able to locate any info.
Weird that these are only parallel tip no? Aren't most modern heads taper tip?
feel like id be in between the weights.. typically play a 120 ish shaft, in between s and xs... so 125 maybe too stout, and 105 too lite..
i currently game the DG X7. would the 125x be upgrade . dispersion feel distance control
Could you soft step these twice to play closer to modus 105 r or dg 105 r
Please build the whole set… please o please?
Aren't LA's about the same price?
Do you guys carry Oban?
Lots of $50/$60/$70 iron shafts out there in graphite. Just requires some fitting.
Or just use Edel SMS irons and completely avoid the need for tip weights or lead tape.
How do these compare to the fujikura pro from a few years ago. Obviously velocore is the big tech here but just profile wise etc.
Why do we think the fuji pro never took off but things like mmt, these, Accra are coming out now?
Fuji Pro are still great shafts, and a bargain at $45 each. I've been playing the 95g TS Stiff for the last 3 years, after 20 years of playing DG S300 shafts. I find the Fuji's to be a little straighter, very smooth, and maybe a touch lower flight.
That's my experience too, won them and have never looked back. Just always so curious why they never get any love haha
Is the benefit mainly in reduced vibration vs a steel shaft? I wish you guys covered how it affects launch conditions vs some popular premium steel shafts
The main advantage of this shaft is it removes money from the consumers bank account into the producers bank account
I use PX 6.5 and want a graphite shaft similar to it. Axiom 125 or MMT 125 TX, which is closest?
I'm curious as well. Coming from PX LS 6.5. There's also the LA Golf iron shaft as well that a number of friends rave about.
Yall boring out all the irons with the Axiom shafts? or trimming?
Just need to sand a very small taper on the tip of the shaft.
On todays episode of money is not an issue....
So how do you tip trim a parallel tip shaft to accommodate a tapered 0.355 hosel? Can't get my head around this
You tip trim as per Fuji specs for each shaft then taper the tip gradually with sandpaper until it fits into the head.
You can drill or ream .355 out to .370 , without any problems, trying to shave down to exact taper can be a problem.
WE NEED TO COMPARE VS STEEL FIBER!! WE TRUSE YOUR HONESTY ON THIS CHANNEL
$125 a shaft for irons? Yikers.
How does it compare to MMT?
I currently use MMT 105 S and I just went club champion today to hit AXIOM 105 S exactly same set up same head. Feeling wise they are pretty much the same. I could tell any difference and distance wise, they are the same as well. I don’t really see a point of switching for something feels the same but cost 30 bucks more per shaft
Couldn’t *
“Nothing you want to do less than buy a brand new set of irons and pack it with lead tape” speak for yourself my miuras lead tape packed on them😂
This is a tough question to answer over the internet but I’m currently using DG 120 S300s , I like them for the most part but I have always tended to like heavier shafts. I have a low ball flight in general and want to switch up to something in the 125-130 gram weight range but looking for something that gives a touch more launch. My natural shot is essentially a stinger with almost all of my clubs, driver included. I was thinking of DG TI S400s but they seem to be very low launch as well. Would KBS $ Tapers 125x be a good in between shaft? Looking for something with a similar feel to the DG 120s but with a touch more weight and launch
does this come in a .355
.370 but can be shaved down for . 355 heads
It comes in .355 now
A review like this really means nothing unless you test it vs comparable products. Just trying out a product and saying hey it's pretty good if it fits you, isn't insightful. People want to know if it's worth the premium price tag compared to standard steel shafts.
Exactly! I’m not ever using fiber shafts and when I’m old I’ll use lighter KBS or similar easy peezy
Love the vibration steel gives me when I fat my blades😊😂
Hard to justify these, when the MMT are now 60 a piece, don't have to buy them in sets, and they are plug and play with no weights or cutting.
I'll be dead serious with you guys. All this that you guys are saying just isn't credible. Did you guys use the Craftsman model 1019 Laboratory Edition Signature Series torque wrench. You know, the kind used by Caltech high energy physicists and NASA engineers for all your testing? Unless you did, there is no way that I can feel comfortable knowing that your assessment of the shaft is dead on balls accurate.
I just do not understand the whole 370 decision. The people paying $100+ per iron shaft generally aren't playing shovels.
I think they had to do this to allow for the long mid short parallel shafts which allow flexibility with tipping. With that they need to be .370 to be cut. I guess they could have just make constant weight taper shafts 2/3-pw like other brands and I am sure the option to soft/hard step these for builder who are comfortable with tapering a graphite shaft outweighed the need for straight taper tip
@@ericft1 Seems like they wanted to capture as much of the benefits of taper tip while keeping the part count down. At $125 each, nine different parts is big $$$ in inventory.
Great video but that shirt is making me twitch. 🤪
