I've been watching/ gonna be binge watching your videos. Gonna be doing a lot of firsts and your videos will be very helpful, im sure. Glad you make them!
thanks, when I got my first one and searched for some video's on it. There just wasn't any or what I did find didn't really cover enough of what I need to know so I made some, enjoy..
Fantastic easy to understand video! I have been having problems with my pt cruiser after changing the slave and master cylinder. There is no bleed screw on the slave so I had been sort of trying what you have shown here but always ended up with a very soft peddle which would work if pumped quite a few times. After watching this I now know the correct way to do it! So hopefully after I do what you have shown my pt will be back on the road. Thank you for taking the time to do this very helpful video.
Just bought a srt4 supposedly the clutch was put in a southbend stage 2 kit with pressure plate flywheel and throwing bearing . Master and slave cylinder were supposedly done but I don't think it was bled. My problem is hard to get into gear especially 1st and reverse I have to pump the clutch a cpl times to get into gear which is difficult it also has a very soft pedal which catches low to the floor . Do you think I have air in the hydraulic lines ? Maybe adjust the pedal ?
Great video, this is probably the best srt4 clutch bleeding video on RUclips. You made it look really easy so I'm hoping I can bleed my clutch myself! One thing though, I can't tell what you're doing with the hand that's doing the pushing, or where it's pushing for that matter. When I look at my transmission from underneath I can find the slave cylinder piece with the tube that goes up to the reservoir but I didn't see anything that looked like I could push on it to bleed it as easy as you did. Any way you could explain that or make a small video from the other perspective of how you were actually doing it and not just the air bubbles coming out? Thank you!
dj setterstrom when I tried to take out the slave cylinder it can't turn fully because the radiator is aftermarket so it's too big. Which is why this method where the slave cylinder is still in is giving me hope I can still do it myself.
Appreciate the video bro. I need to do this to my NSRT-4. What if I want drain the whole fluid to add new and clean fluid. Would you happen to have a video showing this or is it something simple I can do.
to flush it i use some thing to suck the fluid out of the master a turkey baster works well then wipe the resivor out with a paper towel i fill and bleed like shown in the video you will see the dirty fluid push up repeat this a few times it works just takes time to do you can pull the pin at the slave pull the line and push out the fluid then fill it there will be lots of air in the system and some times it a pain to get it out..
Hey matt, im doing the srt swap on an sxt i bought, the car was also manual transmission, i put everything back together just curious, can i adapt the srt slave cylinder to the sxt slave cylinder lines? Or do i have to take everything back off again and put the srt slave cylinder lines?
My reservoir line is long enough to bring slave cylinder to the ground and bleed it pushing slave needle into blacktop, just make sure to clean it before reinstalling
When you are inside the car and pressing the clutch pedal, does fluid get pushed back into the reservoir so that air bubbles come out the same as when you are manually moving the clutch fork?? When I'm inside pressing the clutch pedal, nothing is happening at the reservoir.
So my clutch has pressure but it won’t go into gear I have brand new bushings and everything there’s fluid leaking on my master cylinder above the clutch pedal could I need a new master cylinder
Raul Rodriguez hello, nothing in the clutch hydraulic system should be leaking, If you have a leak at the master replace and bleed the system, If the master is bad and letting the fluid leak around the cylinder it will not move the fork enough to release the pressure plate and allow you to shift in to gear.
Hello My friend i'm. from México My srt4 it has a new clutch but My clutch pedal is too high all adjustment up , if i rey to adjust down ir won't shift Any sugestion
thatsrt4guy did you watch pt2 on this it goes over some of the issue you’ve described I’ve had to rebleed the system the next day and got more air but parts do go bad check your push rod inside under the dash. was the transmission out? what’s the condition of the fork/pivot ball all items that will cause the fork to not disengage the pressure plate.
@@focusstsupremacy SRTs have issues with 3rd gear syncro, from kids going from 2nd to 3rd hard. Someone prolly lied to you about your trans being "new". It's quite common for these cars to have shift problems.
@@elmersslowstang6110 ok I’ve found that they like to get clogged up with a white chunky substance in the connector in the oem line pull it apart and press the inside of the connector in with a screwdriver and flush out the fluid be careful not to get it in your eyes this is just one suggestion assuming you have tried other things
hello, I'm not sure never had to do one, but if its a closed system like this the bleed processes is similar some have a bleed screw and get bleed out just like a brake caliber.
X 2 10 mm bolts take it off the transmission open the fluid resivior half full only then push the rod in by hand make sure to change the fluid some rags will do in that small amount
Scott Holland they have a special tool for this I usually push the release in with a flat blade screw driver I’ve also used needle nose pliers once it’s pushed in it should pull apart
the whole theory is to have the slave lower then any part of the line and master and watching the resistor for bubbles when pushing in the slave rod slowly and holding it.
Elmers Slowstang it’s common for that to happen the one under the dash is cheaply made and well 16-18 years old now it’s probably time for an upgrade I just did a video upgrade on the dcr one and the install
Matt's need for speed I changed my slave cylinder and master cylinder with a stock clutch push rod but I have a act clutch my srt4 doesn’t go into gear it makes a rattle noise when I’m off the clutch I think it’s the clutch fork that’s bad when I’m in gear and have the clutch all the way in it wants to shut off on me can u help me out man
Elmers Slowstang ok the act’s will make a little noise when idling in neutral with clutch out, now if you have the system bled out and the push rod under dash extended to full length to to push the slave out all the way and it doesn’t disengage the clutch the fork will likely be the issue.

James Dennings you can just pull the slave cylinder out and push the rod in against the transmission housing is what I did before.

James Dennings, at 3:21 using " stop motion on your screen, you can see the opening on the trans (where he puts his hand in)

jkenney940 pressing the peddle forces fluid down to the slave cylinder

Push the yellow tab down with pliers all the way then pull it off
Use an 11/16 box end wrench to push in and compress the quick disconnect than pull apart. 👍 Made it real easy
Is it the same for a sxt?
Are you installing one or bleeding it out? If is a sealed system like this the bleed process will be very similar.
