I like the srt4s but people out here really selling these cars that are in this exact condition for 4 grand. Like wtf are you thinking it won't even pass inspection 😂
Keeping my SRT extremely well sorted and alive here in PHX, AZ. I'm not going to lie, I kind of want to buy a second one, and fully repair and build to be another reliable example on the road. Your videos are extremely motivating.
I suddenly don't feel so bad with the 05 I got and am in process of repairing. White smoke on startup, turbo seals are bad and thought it was head gasket but turned out to be a dime sized chip on #2 piston and scarred cyl wall. Other than the rebuild I'm doing, all else is good, minimal rust, and car is 99% stock. Just has a catch can and ingalls motor mount. Good video!
If you can actually find one that's Not Trashed you'll be lucky ! I'm 61 and still have the three i bought in 03,04,05 All low miles and super clean , even the modded ones.
I've had my 05 ACR for about 7 years and luckily it was never modded by previous owner but unfortunately it was driven in western PA so it's getting cancer but luckily I know how to do bodywork and fab metal. These cars are getting junked and parted out like crazy so I will be doing the rust repairs and try and do what it takes to prevent future rust.
Hate to see how fools messed up and hacked these cars ..smh. But I love my blk 03 I bought brand new its garage kept and is awsome I have only 70k miles on it and she still kicks ass. Ps. She has a mopar blow off valve and air cleaner everything else is stock..!!
Common. No pad inside just an air pocket. I recently dented mine in on the 05.... But it having nearly the same interior as a regular neon you can replace it easily with just a couple of scews...
I want an SRT4 ACR so bad, but I want to find one without rust and that isn’t modified. The only thing I’d do is upgrade the turbo with one of the Dodge turbos that was an option.
@@Mattsneedforspeed so true my friend. My Srt-4 is my baby. I’ll love him and cherish him forever. And of course have you to lean on for any issues that need fixed lol.
the sun roof was designed poorly the glass formed around a steel frame with a rubber seal that holds the moisture causing rust bubbles and leaks if its not bad can be repaired but no real fix other then replacement and the part is obsolete
that's some good information ill use that, most setups are not even installed correctly as its not a complicated part to install but it does increase the over all efficient of the engine
These are cars you have to comb through from front to back. People hide so many issues and most just drive them without doing maintenance. I got one cheap($3300) but I damn near have the same amount in just maintenance parts. I’m still not done.
its amazing they got to this condition being what they are, lots are in this condition and the demand for people wanting them is high, then when they end up thinking they got a deal and don't have the money to repair them then hid stuff inflate a couple of the worn out mods an sell them to some one else, a few things might get fixed bur its mostly wire crimps and zip ties..... and die a slow painful death to a part out if there's even any thing left....very few get fixed up and modded correctly. save the nsrt4
@@Mattsneedforspeed agreed. I learned my lesson with my first and now the one I have. I don’t care how good a Srt4 looks I’m not buying someone else’s headache. I’ve toyed with the idea of grabbing one of those super low mileage Srt4s I’ve seen for sale. I just know in my mind I’m going to have to spend 2k at least on things that weren’t replaced at the bare minimum. I can’t believe how many I’ve seen with 100k miles and timing belt not touched, original coil pack, original hubs/wheel bearings, ball joints, spark plugs, wires and etc. At 100k it is really when a huge bit of parts should be replaced. Then as these cars get older a lot of those things need replacing just because of age or sitting around.
Just got an 05 for below $3000 w 130k miles and starts first crank but has small oil leak and a little hard to get into some gears especially reverse but that’s about it
the csrt4 engine is not as reliable its hard to find and very expensive to build there was not many of them made i think 4 to 7,000 built any thing can be done if you have the funds to back the project
Jesus. 290k miles on mine. Driver seat tear. Few clutches, and an axel. If a deer didn't try to race me across the road, the hood would still be decent. Lowered on BC coils, stock turbo, diablo tune. Most reliable car I've ever seen.
I wouldn’t blame in on just one of the owners I’m sure if a car fax was run it would be a whole list of them this seams to be the norm for the ones that weren’t well kept.
these cars most have had a very abused life and the damage that kills them is caused buy the owners and not age or ware and tare. Giving them a bad name of be unreliable
Tbh the car isn't that rough. Shift cables new 140$ oil change 40$ exhaust shop 150$ to run new pipe. 200$ in motor mounts. The panels is lighter being holey so u already faster than stock call it stage .5 😆

Once you own it, it’s almost too late, some people hide things others just have no clue but if you’re going to buy something be educated so you know what you’re looking at...
Great idea for a car. Awesome power. Garbage. Bought an 05 brand new and it was gone by 20k. It literally broke 7 boost gauges. The stock clutch couldn't hold any more power than intake and exhaust. I loved that damn car. Even gave the 08 srt4 the benefit of the doubt and bought that . Mistake. Motor let go at 264 miles on break in. Took months to get the car back and it still wasn't right . Got into turbo dsms instead.
The sub frame rails are rusted out. The body critical weight bearing points are rusted out. So, the body and frame in the back will not support a rear collision. Fuel can will crush. Nope nothing to see here! 😂🤣😆

just finding any version or year in good condition and near stock now is getting costly but there's still some out there
