    I agree that they are solid cars I own 2 of them. My first one I bought brand new and has 215k on it, only thing that went out on it was the starter and other than regular maintenance it has been a runner. My second one I bought 4 years ago with 44k and now has 78k and it’s modded and have had no issues at all except just doing regular maintenance. So if anyone says their junk just doesn’t know how to keep up with the maintenance and like you said get quality parts not autozone crap. I should know since I’ve had mine since October 2004 and still drive it, still have the window sticker too

    Have one now i thought it was clean but went though a clutch coolant hoses the bushings for the gear shift and now an oil leak from the oil pressure sensor that i already fixed but ultimately this car is great as long as u know how to work on these things its easy and youtube helps out alot.
    THIS IS A PERFECT TURBO CAR FOR PEOPLE BUYING THERE FIRST TURBO CAR.

    They’re fantastic and fairly reliable, only if the PO’s took great care of them. Just like every other car.

    I haven't bought an srt4 yet, have owned an sxt for over 10yrs that I've went up the ranks with. Converted drivetrains to an RT then the ptgt/srt4. The srt4 conversion has given me the most problems this far. Cam/crank sensor plagues it to where I've had maybe 1 month out of a few yrs with no problems. My fault for sure due to wiring but even with good wiring they still fail often that I burnt a number of pcms. Yet still I'm mopar or no car 😅

    • @LifeatSpeed
      @LifeatSpeed  3 года назад

      Are you running Mopar sensors? In all 3 of mine that I have owned over the years I have only had 1 cam sensor fail and it was an aftermarket unit that failed after almost 3 years and 50k miles. I replaced it with an OEM Mopar unit and it has been good since.

      @@LifeatSpeed I've been a frequent customer of modern performance lol. The mopar sensors last longer but still fail for me. I'm running aftermarket now just for it to run but the p0344 is a for sure after heats in it.

      @LifeatSpeed  3 года назад

      @@akirony Yeah Modern Performance is a great place to get parts from. There has to be something else going on in the harness to continuously fail sensors.

      @LifeatSpeed  9 месяцев назад +1

      As long as it's stock and appears to have been taken care of, I wouldn't worry. Mine has 245k miles on it and going strong

      @@LifeatSpeed yes it's stock just has the mopar intake and had a Diablo tuner on it but I took it off back to stock doesn't burn oil or smoke coolant level seems to be at point water pump looks new. Thanks for the reply

    Bud, it’s fine to like srt4’s but they were cobbled together from the factory with bargain bin parts. They weren’t solid at all

    • @LifeatSpeed
      @LifeatSpeed  3 года назад +3

      Sorry but that simply isn't true. Between the 3 that I've owned I've put close to a combined 200k miles on them and know a bunch of people that haven't had any issues with them. To say they weren't solid is factually incorrect. The only issue with these cars is owners who cheap out on maintaining/servicing them.

    • @burtonporter8437
      @burtonporter8437 3 года назад +2

      Plenty of people get lucky, but the list of issues is pretty long. Shift selectors, dangerous rear tension arms, problematic charge piping.
      I’ve had several and like them too, but acting like it was a well put together car compared to anything else from that era is kind of silly

    • @LifeatSpeed
      @LifeatSpeed  3 года назад +2

      I'm not comparing them to Ferraris or BMWs. But compared to cars in it's price class and even higher it's quality is definitely on par with a lot of them
