    I like the use of Milliput in projects, but I wouldn’t say it is cheap to use. It’s a good product, adds some snap to a project, but increases what you have to charge to make a buck.! Keep on Turning.

    Thanks for the video Peggy. If you are interested, they have silicon brushes for spreading glue. You don't have to worry about cleaning begore the glue dries, it just breaks off. I have even use basting brushes on large wood pieces. Do you need carbide tools to remove milliput? Thanks.

    • @PFWoodturning
      @PFWoodturning  4 года назад

      Yeah, I've been meaning to get one of those silicone brushes. You can use carbide or regular tools to remove milliput---I've used both. If it's a regular/traditional tool, just make sure it's recently sharpened. Thanks for watching!

    The vase looks very nice but I will offer a couple of suggestions. First, if you are going to glue up blanks like this, make sure the grain is running in the same direction. Wood moving in opposite directions will cause joint failure. Next, have you considered segmented turning? You wouldn’t waste as much wood

    • @PFWoodturning
      @PFWoodturning  4 года назад

      Thanks, Greg. No, I haven't considered segmented turning (yet), but I do see it in my future! Thanks for watching!

    Hey Love your videos, Im kinda new to turning but have been doing custom wood working for years. Little suggestion on your glue up. Notice how the pieces move a lot until the glue starts to hold, if you sprinkle a little table salt on the glue before adding the next piece. The salt will stop the sliding and does not effect the finished product

    You spliced 2 different projects. On the original project, you had 2 teal stripes-middle and bottom, the bottom piece of wood was very light-almost white, and the top piece of wood had not been touched. Then about half-way thru you stated you did record the removal of the 1st 2 milliput stripes. The bottom wood is darker now, the bottom stripe is white instead of teal and the top of the project, the dark wood has been completely turned and sanded. Why do this without telling us you changed projects?
