This has opened my eyes , I've always kept my rag overnight on top of the freezer and with my frozen baits on the beach , thank you for that , nice to see Wayne aka Darren emmmm lol again in the vid, Tom you r totally wasted in your shop the way you wrapped that Rag you should be wrapping in a chippy shop that was perfection 😀, loved the out takes at the end 🎣👍
I found this not only really funny, but also really interesting, I had absolutely no idea, and always put it in my cool box with everything else, then quietly moan to myself about the quality of it. I'll be waiting for the video with you both👍🎣
Although I’ve been fishing for many years 🤦♂️, I found that very interesting Tom, you definitely need to be more careful who you let into your shop 😂😂🐟🎣. Loved the outtakes too 👌
I swear rag were a lot more Hardy 30 years ago as the daggers kept them if coughs , then the ragwom suppliers kept them in take of airerated trays off see water ! I think it made the ragworm pass out all that they had eaten making them tougher when finally brought by the shops ! I only say this as a chap who did dragging all those years ago
To be fair that's still pretty much the routine for draggers. It'll keep well if kept at a stable temp and not messed around with too much. I mainly made this video for the summer and for those who put ice packs on their worms! 😬😬
1: brilliant and educational 2: hilarious and an opportunity for countless innuendos, especially with the constant zipper sound effects. 3: not sure, stupid/brilliant and maybe do some more….no definitely do some more!
Everyday is a Schoolday Tom, is it the same approach for Blow Lug and Black Lug, and if keeping for more than a day should they be gutted, salted then frozen? you could do a whole series on storing and keeping bait.
I could! Lots of questions coming from this one, which is great. With rag, I just recommend buying what you need for the session. I've never been a big fan of salting, freezing etc. Blow lug I keep in shall trays of sea water. This can be kept cooler than rag, so a domestic fridge is absolutely fine. If you change the water regularly you can keep them for a couple if weeks no probs. Blscks I tend to freeze down what I don't use after a session. They can be kept easily in a domestic fridge again. Just remember that blacks that are frozen fresh are better than blacks that are frozen when they're a bit older.
Many thanks - I won't ever do this again! A quick question on your ragworm - do you tend to get a batch in every few days, or once a week or daily? I usually pass by your shop on the way home from work, i.e. about 5.15 or so and assume you probably won't have any left, though I guess if you get them in less often, you probably get enough for a number of days and I might get lucky.
Interesting video but bearing in mind quite a few of us collect our Ragworm from the tackle shop on Friday with the intention of using it over the next few days. How would you suggest we store the worms to keep them in the best possible condition?
Just somewhere cool mate. They're quite happy spread out in a tray on a shed or garage floor. Even better still get a bait fridge and set it to about 8°C. Just don't put them near ice!
Keep them out the sun as much as you can! It's not easy this time of year! You can put those gel freezer packs in the fridge, rather than the freezer. That can help.
You can keep worms overnight just on your shed or garage floor (or anywhere cool really!), preferably spread out in a tray. Domestic fridges can often be too cold. If you have ice at the back of your fridge, then try to avoid putting the worms near this. It's easy in the cooler months of course!
I wish I could spell! *outtakes 🤣🤣🤣

🤣🤣 I'm a secret chip shop owner.
I like your conspiracy theory! I've never seen the two of them together at the same time! 🤔🤔

It's a very common mistake matey. Hope you're keeping well over there? Catching plenty? I think another IOW road trip will be on the cards soon.
Brilliant chaps…love it ❤️👌🎣
Together, you are indeed, the Pet Shop Boys of sea angling 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 I'll take that.

It's OK, I've barred him now.

Fantastic video chaps, great to teach the people that don't know 👍🏻
That's the idea mate. Very easy mistake to make and something we deal with almost daily in the shop this time of year.
You're both as mad as a bag of soggy rag.
Hilarious outtakes
😂😂😂😂

I should add... I do use a lot of deliberately aged rag in the winter months. So a week old, smelly worm. This can so often outfish fresh.
Thankyou!!😮😊
You're welcome
Many thanks - I won't ever do this again!

This time of year it's daily, but even then can run out as it's very busy. Always a good idea to call up and reserve some... 01202 480520.
Hi mate could you fish Chesil beach with 24 gusts

Thanks for the advice.@@FishyTom
😂😂😂 outtakes but another informative video tom thanks
I couldn't resist putting those in. Not sure how I ended up with an hours footage for a quick 5 minute video! 🤣🤣
Great video! What would you suggest doing with the worm when the sun in beaming down all day?

@@FishyTom Thanks for the reply! I'll try that this Saturday!
No worries. Good luck at the weekend 👍
What newspaper do they like best - Telegraph or Sun?
Oh definitely the Financial Times... FT 😉
What about storing overnight or for a few days? Does the same thing apply, or should you keep it in the fridge?

And there's me thinking you always make your videos in one take. 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
Hilarious i see the logo is pink is that because your not wearing a pink hat anymore lol😊
I will be in the winter! This is my summer hat. I did make a pink one, but it didn't look that great!
Zippy AKA Tom? lmao
🤣🤣🤣
You’re wasted on fishing! 😊
I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not! 🤣🤔
@@FishyTom it’s all good Tom 👍
