Awwww this is when Merle and Aria just started talking
Hi is there no one commenting
Oh? Theyve grown so much since then
Here is a comment
hahaha, many people shipping them haha !
Harendra Singh they’re together now!
You can tell he’s gained so much confidence from doing that
Doing contact sports does that to you
He lost in less than a minute wym confidence tf
@@user-ei9mf1yk2t he lost to someone that also trained, so to the average person, they don't really intimidate him, hence creating confidence in himself. He also noticed he was better than the guy striking wise, he just didn't do as much BJJ training. He clearly has gained confidence lol
@@user-ei9mf1yk2the only has a few months of training clown boy…I’d like to see you do that.
My dude didn't tap out. Yeah he lost. He got choked out. And that sucks. But he didn't quit! He went in there and gave it his all. And he still has more to show. Good luck on your journey as a martial artist man. 👊❤
didnt tap out like mcgregor
@@tlanhluachuteh174 theres not much difference between tapping or not apart from the possible brain damage if you dont. why should mcgregor not tap when it could shorten his career
His journey is over... when i'm finished with him
@@Gobbygoblin mcgregor present himself as a viking warrior. Vikings don't tap out
@@tlanhluachuteh174 Yeah but he is also smart and know the dangers of not tapping out. A rule in the BJJ gym is tap often and that's to prevent injuries to joints or the brain that can be career ending.
So this is where aria and merle started
Kian Ciety “chatting” 😂
You have abs youre hers
Nah it was Joyce’s blind date
14:01 - 14:10
Such a romantic comedy lines
I love how supportive Merle is, just look the amount of fondness on Aria’s face when Merle is showing her support
Calvina Atmajanti like 100
This is how many people are proud of Aria

If he took off work and trained, he could’ve won
Buzzfeed please give him paid “vacation”
Minor-sW this does NOT look like a vacation
@@ashmitjha8327 Exactly lol
BUZZFEED NO PAY VACATION..THEY'RE NOT GOOD
The other guys he's fighting need to make money too... They're most likely working
Dude got Guillotined in a minute. He’s trash. Was never gonna win?
Next fight, here’s what will be different:
-Longer preparation
-Additional coach with learning different grappling and choke holds
-Aria and Merle will be a thing 😆
@Josh Flores Well they are a thing now 😂👏💀
I hope Aria sticks with MMA. This was an incredible series. I want to follow him and his opponent through their journeys, regardless how many losses or wins they achieve. Thanks for inspiring us to break out of our shells.
At the end of the original video it said he intends to fight
He should have gone to boxing.. MMA for 3mos is not enough.. Too many disciplines to learn..
@@lt.boinks992 he was serious about that? Damn, mad respect

And one who follows through without so much whining lol
Indeeeeeeeddddd.
"Did he contour? Coz those cheeks were poppin!" 😂😂😂😂😂
No just fat loss
Vishal Maraj it was a joke🙄
I feel like Jack & aria's friendship is underrated
Man when I saw Aria got choked in a standing guillotine. All I thought was dang, he definitely just got out experienced. Would have been nice to see him go a bit longer to show more of what he is capable of.
And with that loss, Aria gains that experience for next time. Aria is forever a fighter and a lifelong learner.
A couple months of bjj and he should be more capable of fighting the hands to get out
I hope he will continue on fighting an training in MMA.
He never tapped though.
He just made a rookie mistake by trying to close the distance and not using the jab enough he did a great job but needed a good base in grappling
Aria's starting to remind me of naruto with all the underdog stuff lmao
ya bro, naruto real life, next 5 years hes gonna be mma champion and then 5 years later, board the mma as chairman
Believe it
The next thing you know he's told that his father was actually an AMA champion.
😭😭😭
Naruto is pretty much jesus. Rock lee the real underdog
aria is looking like a four course meal. oh my god.
Not as much as u are😉
He's the entire buffet industry
When merle said those words of encouragement plus the music, it moved my heart, not because of the ship, but because how sincere and hopeful that was, added with aria’s afterthoughts, and Aria seemed so touched by it. It’s the small moments you know.
me: *watches these kinds of videos*
me: I should get fit over the summer.

The summer is basically over
Watch Jeff Cavalier. I promise you that if you commit yourself, you'd lose 25+- kilos in 4 months while building some muscle.

High IQ comment.
So strong minded and focused, I look up to you. Never in my life do I think I have been this dedicated in anything. Ur a brilliant human being, keep being you.
I like how so many of his coworkers just projected their fixed mindsets onto Aria. Really shows parts of their character
Well they work for BuzzFeed I'm not surprised
Keep Fighting Aria you can see your skills developing really fast, give it 3-4 months and rematch that guy!
he needs more than 3-4 months, the guy he fought has prolly been training at least over a year.
he plans on returning to the ring at some point. so while he might not have a rematch, we'll hopefully see him have at it in a much better form with a different opponent
@@Gobbygoblin the guy he fought was also from the military, that's a kind of experience that is perfect for mma
For reals he looked natural. With more experience he should be good.
The dude was going easy on Aria... Aria has a really good body for sure but fighting is all about experience and attitude. Most fighters train since they were children and to compete with them you have to be either very talented or have long experience like them. That’s reality. To think that you can beat a real fighter is quite naive. But I don’t want discourage Aria in any way. I have huge respect for him and his accomplishment and I can see him possibly fight a way weaker opponent and actually beat him if he keeps training very hard.
i came here after the blind date. i noticed that aria and merle have the same smile. they smile look similar and i love that 😊
Man you are a Legend like this gives me goosebumps I love your spirit like how positive you stay you didn't crash you weren't crying mad respect to that good luck in your next fight ☝️
Loosing weight takes true dedication. Aria did so good look at him. 🤩🤩🤩
I lost weight by simply eating half a meal a day for about 2 months. It worked.
bruhhh!! so many doubters even his friends were.. daym!! you just gonna do it and not surrender!
Merele and Aria are my life goals ( not to pressure on you M&A but you guys are amazing!)
I'm quite impartial to most of Buzzfeed's contents but with that said, this is by far the best video series they've produced. You truly live when you actively overcome adversities and challenges in life. Aria, you've got a taste of it now and like one of your trainers in the video said, this will leak into all facets of your life in a positive way. Keep up the good fight.
28.4% body fat?
Damn then I must be 100% jello.
CateDoge yeah 28.4 is actually kind of a lot
Wat it’s overweight
@yerowww666 dexa scans can be of by 5 percent. He was most likely around 22 percent when he starters and around 12-14 in the end
Dion Klijn no he looks more like 15 to 16 percent because you can’t see his full 6 pack unless he has no 6 pack due to genetics
Dion Klijn 12-14?😂😂 you have no idea what you’re talking about
For someone who’s done striking for 9 years, Aria improved tremendously in those 4 months. Respect.
I think there's something about Aria that a lot of us see in ourselves or want to see. Feeling doubted, having doubts in yourself, and being in vulnerable positions where other people won't think you'll do it. Then he does it, loses, badly frankly, not just in front of others but the entire internet and holds his head high and tells his story and gets the girl.
These videos are the best content buzzfeed has made in a long time! It's incredibly inspirational and entertaining. Mad respect to Aria
When you watch JoJo's Bizarre Adventure for the first time
I get to witness the Justin Y I feel so honored
Ok
Eyy justin😁
Frick you
wait a minute.. Justin Y? SKIRT SKIRT OUTTA HERE
Petition for him to fight again?
he said in the other vid that hes gonna
Absolutely Beautiful. Good for you man. I can tell you are proud of yourself for this, and that is priceless. I don't even know you and I'm proud of you. I used to compete in boxing and mma until my ulcerative colitis forced me to stop and man.. I miss it every day. Go for it man, it's a tiny window of opportunity, jump through it! Even if/when you get hurt or cut, you will see that red badge of courage and be proud of it.
Congrats.
It's awesome to see your friends be way more supportive now, in the first video they looked really mean about it, you were taking a huge risk and undertaking and they didn't seem to have that belief that total strangers had. Maybe take a year to learn the grappling, your striking looked quite clean! Awesome effort, I never watch Buzzfeed but these videos were great!
This is one of my new favorite BuzzFeed videos love the work and passion Arya put into this and I hope you do more to further improve your life with fitness.
Am I the only one shipping aria and merlee🙄🙄
I feel like she's has a crush on him (but at this point, who doesn't) 😆
Nope
Shipping them so hard right now
Well they are two attractive people who don't hate each other, so by internet rules they must be shipped.
:| wut? shipping?
I feel like they’re already banging. She’s crushing super hard
Awesome vid bud, it's not always about winning, it's about persevering. With your timeline and goals you really did win, it wasn't about your opponent, it was about you and you persevered. Amazing weight loss, amazing transformation and in the future, an amazing win, cheers
This video inspired me to pursue my interest in mma. It's been in my bucketlist for years. Currently, I have already underwent 2 months of boxing training, a few months more then off to BJJ or Muay Thai. Thank you so much Aria.
How he lost 10% body fat:
Exercised
Ate Well
OOOOOH, THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT!!!! lol
Ate well is an understatement
its not that hard just takes a bit of meal prep and proper macro split
@@sandyfisher6937 You don't even need to be really tough. He got leaner, which is just calories in vs calories out and then ate enough protein. Done.
me: does the same thing
also me: somehow gains weight??!
@@guiltyavocado Ate more calories than you used, but if you lifted too then you gained muscle! So that's a win! :)
Do not stop doing this! 4 months is not a long time to train, but you did it and you went in the cage. Not alot of people can say they did it but you can. Train harder and longer for your next fight. We are here supporting you! On a lighter note, that girl you talking to is cute ;-)
Ding Ding it’s preety sick
Ding Ding he got knocked that is man geez
7 months later....
I have never been more inspired and motivated to do something with my life. I am taking mma classes as soon as the gyms open again in my country
I'm really love when see a lot of people keep support and motivate him.. Really hope can get this kind of circle.
I'm proud of Aria! It doesn't matter if he lost his first fight. He can easily come back the next time and be better. His dedication to his training/diet is something that we should look as inspiration!! Also it's good that he recognizes he needs more grappling in his training because no one wants to get chocked out. Much love Aria and team!
I used to train different types of martial arts and really wanted to do the same thing as you did, but my perseverance is just way too bad 🙄 what you did is highly admirable! 👏👏
He’s mentality is amazing! Total respect!
“Just don’t get choked out again... please :’)” - Merle to Aria.
❤️
Keep on fighting you got the mentality of a champion! Mad respect for you
Good video!!!! I would love to watch another fight from you. True inspiration!!
This was beautiful! It’s a lot of young kids dreams to fight in the cage and aria showed that with hard work and dedication it’s possible win or lose I hope he fights again!
This was such an impressive display of effort and dedication! Amazing.
Alternat title: How I got ridiculously good looking in 4 months
To be fair he already was good looking beforehand
@@mauriceestelle4619
Yeah but he went from a 7 to a 9, pretty impressive
@@bluebotlivingston6016 And more than 50% is personality; he went from a nice, and funny guy to a nice, funny guy who can take and throw a punch and who's willing to face someone .
His body's like a 4/10
If that's what you took mainly from this....
This made me wanna cry. Aria you are truly an inspiration, I dont even know you and I feel the love. Eternal respect for you
that was cute *"Just don't get choked out again, please."*
her request was so mild and cute, but seemingly sincere.
only reason I saw this again was because I just saw their video where they confirmed they were going out.
Who came from the "how I fell in love with my coworker" video to watch their beginning again?😍
I relived the emotions from the first video, and feel just as much admiration for Aria. Persevering when those around you doubted you had to be a struggle. Aria, you're a warrior.
That was amazing! No one does that well with only 4 months of training. I've been training and competing in BJJ for 6 years and have been wanting to transition to MMA. This was so motivational, Aria! I hope you get back in there again ^_^
Please fight again! You have so much potential, and I can’t wait to see the next video (hopefully)!
Steve Zim seems like such an awesome guy. Like for real, watched this other video with other people trying to loose weight and as always his knowledge with motivational words he had made it like such a nice experience they were going through. 👏🏻👊🏻
Wow, thank you Buzzfeed for featuring my question at 5:33 and thank you Aria for answering my question!
You did great Aria! Only warriors have the courage to step into the octagon. Win or lose, you learn and improve that's the most important thing! Hope to see you fight again! Oss
Why does it feel like BFeed felt the need to defend their team's reactions on the first video?
They don't, but if you've ever seen people just try to lose weight the doubt is reasonable. Look - everybody including the MMA guys said how difficult and rare this is.
But the initial reactions build a better story.
I was literally about to say that
oh man.... I can relate to this... I do competative judo, and it really takes alot out of you physically, and even more so, metally, to train and prepare for competitions, especially some of the bigger ones which can be hella nerve wracking. The stress you feel in the hours leading up to a fight is something you can only understand from expiriencing it first hand. Good job Aria, you kicking ass!
Now that was inspirational! Awesome video, and amazing transformation.
This guy is really inspiring ik he lost but dam he’s got a lot of heart ❤️ that’s something you can’t teach man fr 💯
Aria looking at his coworker trying to explain why they all doubted him is definitely a mood. His face said was solid steel
Aria, after the first video I contacted you and you replied immediately with so much support. We discussed my journey to American Ninja warrior. Your replies were so amazing and motivating. I invited you to train with me as I push to hit my buzzer on ANW. But, after seeing this video and the passion on your face, YOU HAVE TO FIGHT AGAIN. I would be honored to see that fight in person when it happens. THANK YOU SO MUCH ARIA!!!!!
You did so good. Looking forward to your next fight.
You should do another fight, please do another I love watching your journey!!!

I mean the fact that you did all of that while doing your buzzfeed work took some of your lifetime for one minute in the ring is incredible. But the way you did it the way you persevere through it I mean it has to be one of the most truthful and inspiring videos of BuzzFeed EVER. IT'S not just a personal story for the sake of being a personal story you shared something with us and tried to inspire us and you did all of that in a very cinematic way a beautiful way and also in a very educational way to prove us that if you believe in yourself go through the process engage into the meanings and the means necessary for that process to go well then there's nothing there to stop you. Then it's only a matter of time. You showed us that it's truly possible and I think that's freaking amazing thanks aria thank you very much.
0:40 we all know that shot was to show of his AirPods lol

But.. are AirPods even that expensive? 😅
You did everything except the one thing you needed most, bjj fundamentals! Really loved the video though, you told a great story.
When I watched the original transformation video.. I was most impressed with the fact, that his RETIRED fight coach actually decided to coach again. That shows how much of an impact Aria and all this work had.
Aria for real man you are an inspiration the dedication you gave this and the seriousness you took things are really remarkable and i really do hope you continue the path you took upon as you seem like the person who would succeed in this kind of sport.
