i had a call with spyderco about putting on aftermarket scales/ ball cage. the warranty is not voided. how ever if you break the g10 or ball cage you will pay a service fee/ replacement if you disassemble.
Another great thing about this knife that you didn't mention is that I remember reading somewhere that this knife is designed to be easily operated while wearing gloves. Oversized spydie hole, extra aggressive jimping on the thumb ramp, proud liners, and the extra room in the handle all make it the best knife to use when you are wearing bulky gloves if you happen to work outside or in cold climates.
I LOVE all my manix-2s. I've owned 8 of them and aside from minor blade centering issues they've all been perfect. I carry my well worn S30V model daily. It's never let me down in 12 yrs of daily carry. Great knife!
By far my favorite model offered by Spyderco, mainly for one of the reasons you stated - the ergos are absolutely off the charts, at least to my hand. The fact that there's a little something for everyone as far as choice of different blade steels is a nice bonus.
This is my everyday knife. I do use this all day long in a non-office job, and truly, I'm in love. It's big enough to be strong and dependable, but small enough that I don't feel like I'm walking around with a sword. After I took it apart a couple of times, I got used to it. Could probably do it in the dark now. Oddly enough, mine didn't have a drop of loctite. None. I was ready for a mess. Got nothing. I like the clip because I partially use it for leverage as I unlock the knife. I've never felt the wire ones everyone seems to love, but I did hear they can be a bit bendy......in certain knives, anyway. Thanks so much for looking at this one. To each his own, and in your life, I don't feel like it would fit the bill. But for mine, absolutely does. Love your videos!
My lightweight has the wire clip and yeah if you use it for leverage while using the lock it does bend a little, but it's not that bad, still works a charm.
balfemotor Good to know. I think it was more of a thing back in the beginning when the lock was so much stiffer. For the first week or so, I was really depending on that clip being there. Now, not so much. In any case, Manix 2 people are my people!
This is one knife that is everything that everyone says it is. When I finally got mine in hand it was exactly what I expected. I love this knife. My Caly 3.5 on the other hand did not stand up to expectations:(
About the ball cage around the 8:40 mark... A Flytanium Ti or Aluminum ball cage along with a SIC bearing and lighter spring is almost a must for the Manix 2. Throw a SIC bearing and lighter spring and a Ti ball cage in it and it becomes such an amazing knife in every way. Silky smooth action, the Ti cage grabs the fingers great and thr sic bearing makes it stupid smooth.
I own the Spydiechef, the paramilitary 2, both para 3 (lightweight and g10), the native 5 salt, the delica and the manix 2 is far and away my favorite knife. Smooth as butter deployment and closing action, solid lock, the s110v holds a crazy edge, it just belongs in my medium/small hands. I cannot think of a con... Maybe that I didn't get one sooner?
Thanks for sharing, I got a PM2 and a Para 3 LW so far, was bouncing between a Delica, Native, and Manix for my next one, I'm pretty sure the Manix is the way to go now.
This knife is rock solid. I got it when it was a hollow grind totally amazing blade with 154cm. You think the lock is crazy but it's a smarter design than any bendy framelock or crappy axis lock spring design. It just works.
Great to hear what you have to say about the Manix 2. A lot of people are picky about the weight of knives but I appreciate a little heft in my knives. I even forget I'm carrying it at times. The lock is great once its broken in and I can one hand close the knife. I plan on getting the full black version once I have used the polished one up but I don't think that will be for a while!
I read that a lot. Is this the best performance (cuting slicing) folder, from al the top folders? I'm bweteen this, The Kapara or the Caribbean. Which one is better? I can only have 1, so I would like to be the best. Thanks in advance
Just bought my friend one for his birthday and had to give it to him 2 months early cause as soon as it came in i handled it for 30 secs and if i wouldnt have given it to him that day itd be in my pocket now, finally found a spyderco i love, i like spyderco just couldnt ever find one id drop the money on for myself, i mostly carry benchmade or my Emerson but i loved how it felt and handled i like beefier feeling stuff personally first impressions were great, ill let him use it awhile see how it holds up then probably gonna order one myself
Spot on review Nick although I believe many or most newer Manixs' have skeletonized liners. This drops the weight to about 4.25 oz. To anyone on the fence about the Manix, get one.
Саша Крикун That could certainly be true. I haven't owned a stock Manix 2 in a while although the XL I sold a few months back had them. Either way they're awesome production knives.
S110V is regular production and is skeletonized. I don't have an S30V, but perhaps there were just more of them in the distributor pipeline to where solid liner ones were still being sold longer, while sprints don't have pre-existing stock?
I just bought a s30v in black dlc and black g10. Solid non skeletonized liners, 5.0 oz weight. Still liked it enough, I have a black lightweight cts-bd1 on the way.
Peter: Agreed 100%. As Nick has stated elsewhere, Benchmade's QC department hasn't shown up for work in a few years now. But no matter which Spydie you choose, it JUST WORKS. Beautifully. Efficiently. Humbly, quietly understated.
I actually find the axis lock to be much smoother than the ball bearing. I picked up a manix awhile back and the ball bearing lock I found to be a little stiff and uncomfortable to pull back because there wasn’t a lot of give like there is with an axis. Also, great review as usual.
The omega springs on the Axis lock are not nearly as strong as the coil spring in the ball-bearing lock. It's a trade-off between greater ease of use and greater reliability. I've never broken an omega spring, but I hear lots of reports about it happening.
paul greenwood Recently got a sprint run manix 2 with black dlc blade, s90v, burl handles. I have a manix 2xl which is a beast. But I fell in love with this knife. For me it's a perfect size, ergos are spot on. The Shaman is still my favorite spyderco, but the manix 2 is a very close second.
I hope that Spyderco doesn't follow any of his suggestions. Just because people watch the videos doesn't mean everyone signs onto to his suggestions, some of which are lame. Can't sharpen a blade with out Choil? Deal with it. I hate when things get stuck in the choil.
I think some of the space inefficiency when closed is due to the giant lanyard tube preventing them from setting the blade deeper. And the leaf blade shape of course.
My best 'user'. The ball barring lock has a really sweet feeling. Nick, I both mine half a year ago, and there was no problem with locktite. I would love to see a comparison to the Shaman, just saying ;)
this was my first 100 dollat knife, i love it and thr only complaints i have are in this video (disassembly, lanyard tube, and plastic pads). if you're looking to start getting into knives in this range its an excellent start.
I have a manix 2 lightweight translucent blue, and a manix 2 xl blackout. They are my babies, i absolutely love them. My ONLY complaint is that on my xl i have to kinda stretch my thumb and index finger to close it with one hand. I also have small- ish hands. But yeah ergonomically the manix is probably the best i have ever felt before.
I have a manix in 110v. The exposed spring and plastic parts on the lock always kept me from carrying it. I feel like pocket lint could block up the spring or the cheap feeling plastic nubs could break off. And so it stays around the house. Sounds like it's not actually a problem but I can't shake it.
Nick.. Merry Christmas to you!!! I absolutely enjoy your reviews and respect your opinions. I tend to carry Spyderco products for my EDC.. but I tend to carry the Manix 2 LW for myself. But I might reconsider and get a Manix 2 in the future.. just to add to my collection
I wreckon they use red loctite because it’s only made to be disassembled (or even adjusted it seems like) by spyderco. I have a Delica that I bought in 2019 and I adjusted the pivot and it as well as pocket clip had blue loctite. I did buy this from a gun shop and could have been sitting for years.
Great looking knife, got an all black one coming soon! IMO the best comparison would of been the Shaman! Not sure why one of your complaints is size, (size is what I love about it) if you want something smaller buy a smaller knife like the Para 3. It’s not that difficult...
The Manix 2 is my absolute favorite knife. If you're thinking of getting one, skeletonized liners are the way to go. I like my dark blue lightweight in S110V and my S30V in black G10, but my Knife Center exclusive CPM Cruwear in CF and my CPM 154/S90V composite with peel-ply CF are a perfect blend in the weight department. Great knives!
I have the Manix 2 ltw and it is fantastic, I completely agree, never handled the regular version but the lightweight is a true gem, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it.
your manix 2 lw review was the reason i bought my manix 2 lw..for a knife that wasnt for you,you still called it a gem....almost forgot FIRST...anyways happy holiday to you and yours
My new favorite EDC, Blurple S110v. In a way I'm almost sad I found it, as I think it may be the perfect EDC.....not that I won't buy more knives though....:)
I have the S110V version and the scales are skeletonized (same with the sprint runs) which makes is a little more nice to carry. I also put on some anodized aluminum scales to dress it up more. You weren't kidding about the Lanyard tube being a pain though.
Love this knife have the lightweight and G10 versions. The only thing that displeases me is that there is no jimping at the rear of the backspacer so that when retracting the bolt lock tabs there is a bit more retention. The knife tends to slip back in my palm.
Love the Manix 2, especially after I switched out the scales, and got rid of the steel liners. Also, switched out the cheap plastic lock for titanium. Down to 3.35 ounces. Of course, this means I sunk a lot more money into it, but totally worth it.
I have this knife in S110V. The single sharpest factory edge I'd encountered. There's only one thing that I don't like about it and it's the spring tension on the lock. It does loosen over time, but it's never as easy to work with as the compression lock or BM's Axis lock.
This is kind of a repeat comment but... I love my Manix2 lightweight... Probably my favorite knife... However... I don't carry it much because it freaks people out when I whip it out to cut plastic, boxes, etc... So I almost always carry either my Native 5 lightweight in S35VN or my Leatherman PS4... Great review as always...
I thought that Spyderco stopped using red loctite and revised their warranty to allow disassembly sometime this year. Was this video made before those changes?
This is my favorite knife, probably. You really don’t need to disassemble it. People knock knives for being difficult to disassemble, but don’t watches and other gear that gets just as grimy internally. I don’t get it.
Why does it matter? It’s not Spyderco’s knife, it’s my knife, if I want to take it apart there is absolutely no reason they should be doing a damn thing to try and stop me. I’m aware spyderco has changed their stance on this now and that is the only reason I’m considering buying one, but it was and will always be a slimy(and in many countries illegal, only allowed to continue because most people would bankrupt themselves suing a company over it) attempt to get out of providing a warranty. If I manage to break my property by disassembling it, that’s my problem. If my item is faulty and a company wants to blame me for it, they’re assholes.
@@qfrostbite5041 Then you were always fine. Spyderco repaired knives that had faults, but made a blanket statement warranty because people FREQUENTLY mess their knives up and want someone else to pay for it. People hate that Spyderco has had to raise prices, but warranty abuse is always a part of a price.
I have a sprint in CTS-BD30P from a few years ago. Agree on the ergos and size. My "plastic texture pads" are clear/translucent as opposed to your black ones. Great knife though, my weekend carry.
I love the knife I only wish the LOCK was the same as the Griptilian for easier opening... Otherwise I still carry this every day in CPM S110V... thanks for a great review... HS
PowerMountie yeah they try hard to keep the costs down on certain American models so this probably saves them a buck or two in manufacturing costs (which then translates to multiples in actual costs to consumer)
Bought this knife after watching your review I knew I had to have it and oh boy do I love it 😍 , this knife is without a doubt for me the most amazing knife I have ever held and just is so damn smooth and feels amazing in the hand I love the weight I love the blade I love the esthetics ! Spyderco as a company makes a great product in general and I will wind up collecting all of their just basic non Sprint run non Chinese made versions. I do own a tenacious but that will be the last Chinese product I buy that I can help.
@@ecureed this model , I don't care for lightweight knives to me are just a marketing scheme where they sell you 1/3 the knife for nearly the same money.
It’s like a smoky mirror polish . Never really seen it before but I like it a lot. Maybe from steel wool rubbing or something and polish . I dunno Nick . I like it .
I bought this knife after seeing this review.it was my 1st spyderco and my 1st s30v knife....i hated this thing for the 1st 6 months,i couldn't get it truly razor sharp...so i quit stropping and focused more on getting a savage af toothy edge haha boy i LOVE this knife!!and that is.......a beautiful thing!!lmao
I really want to get the Manix 2 XL... since I am left handed it makes all the difference to me. I would love it if they did it with the lightweight black FRN & the better steel (not a fan of CTS BD1 at all).
The first one I bought had pretty bad horizontal blade play. When I sent it back to Spyderco they sent back s different one, which again had blade play. I finally got a good one from Blade HQ recently (it was the M4 exclusive). (This story omits a lot of the trouble I had with this knife and Spyderco's service)
I own well over 150 spyderco knives currently and have owned prolly 250 to 300 over the past ten years. I have never had a Spyderco that wasn't QCed very well. I have had a, couple that the edge bevels wasn't perfect but that's no matter to me as I'm going to reprofile it anyhow and put my edge on it. As far as fit and finish they are all first rate..
Hi did anyone notice their manix 2 ball lock to be quite stiff ? Mine is quite stiff and quite uncomfortable to press with my fingers to pull down .. I have to use quite a bit a pressure to pull it.. I was wondering if most are like this ? In the video it seemed like the one Nick had didn't take as much pressure.. I am playing with it trying to break it in .. anyone else have this with their manix2?
My recently purchased s110v blurple Manix 2 has no loctite on any of the the screws. Screws undo nice and easy with a Wiha stubby torx bit screwdriver.
I have the dark blue light weight version with the wire clip, and I love it. The ergonomics are fantastic, but I can't even begin to take mine apart because it's pinned. And you are right about how wide it is. I can't carry it in any pants that have narrow pockets because I can't get my hand in my pocket without scratching it. Still it's a great knife.
I'm not a fan of "skeletonized" knives. With all the "mods" and accessories for knives these days, does anyone know if an "add on" full liner back to fill in the void in the back of the Manix?
Nick what would u reccomend as edc for me. I like involving my knifes with my work but its a bit hard on the knives, I usaully am going through nasty/thick plastics and do this repeatedly for 8 hours every shift. Btw the workplace gives me a cardboard cutter but its so flimsy it either lasts like a week or dulls even quicker, 3 shifts max!
Blaze they want to consider the Milwaukee fastback razor blade in some sort of knife for a back up this way you could beat the shit out of the razor knife but still have something good in your pocket to use once a while
M4 is a good option I think because i am working in a dry environment( no rusting/minimal) but ill have to save up for that 1 :D until then maybe I will go with the Milwaukee razor. Thanks for the help guys!
Hey nick, great video again. Might have to buy this one; people recommend it a lot. I have few a video suggestions if you care to listen: Knives better than a sebenza Best knives under $100 Best lockbacks (or any lock)
The only thing that stops me from buying a manix 2 is that the spring is exposed.. so if you close the knive with some dirt or something on the blade it's likely gonna get into the spring
Valuable information. I had intended to buy the black G-10 with the idea of adding copper scales. Now I know that would be more trouble than it should be AND I would void the warranty. Time to re-evaluate.
@Nick Shabazz or Anyone - Manix 2 has a ball bearing lock. 1) is the compression lock on other spydercos a lot better? 2) what do u think of the flat back spines like on shaman and lil native as compared to the thumb ramps on manix 2 and para 2? 3) do u do any bushcrafting/wilderness survival? 4) what purpose do the thumb ramps on manix 2 and para 2 serve? what tasks do those designs help and also hinder? 5) what tasks are better using the flat back (spine), no thumb ramp, when using the shaman and native?
I really like both the ball bearing lock on my manix lw and the compression on my shaman I dont think I could pick a winner there by any means No I dont bush craft and if I did I'd use one of my fixed blades that said I think the shaman is easily tough enough A thumb ramp can give extra grip if your "stabbing" in to what ever medea your cutting that said the shaman has a great handle so it wouldn't be a problem..... have the jimped thumb ramp and choil was nice for getting my hand on the blade to get a deep splinter out of my sons hand not to long ago
More on the lock types The ball bearing locks position is nice to grab with my thumb and index finger and whip the knife closed after I make my cut while with the compression lock the shaman simply drops and closes under gravity (I think the manix may do that if its blade was as heavy) but all in the experience of one handed closing after a quick use is slightly more enjoyable with the manix I dont think the ball bearing is a good choice for an environment where the knife is exposed to mud and gunk because of its exposed coil spring which is why I use a delica at work (back lock) this is really kind of a nit pick though
I have the opportunity to buy this nice this week. Should I do it? I really want a quality knife and my wife is letting me get one. I have a tenacious. Good knife. But I want an upgrade. I love your reviews
I was in the market and had my eye on the benchmade 940 ( it is eventually what I bought) but this is the only knife in the same price range that almost changed my mind. I generally don’t like the way spydercos look but something about this knife looked so good and i like the axis lock-esq ball bearing lock. The only thing that lead me to pick the 940 instead was the manix 2 seemed a little too wide in the pocket for me, tip seemed too weak, and i love me that benchmade warrantee.
Greg D you can get one of these for much cheaper than the 940 but man the 940 is so great. I dont carry my 940 because im afraid of loosing it and scratching it all up. With this knife your gonna know if it drops out of your pocket for sure and it will take alot more abuse and still look great. I ordered one of these from ebay and it comes tomorrow hopefully. I have wanted to try the ball bearing lock for a while now we will see :)
its cool they have options for the lightweight version if you travel and what ever. but im not paying 100 bucks for a cheap wire clip. mke it out of titanium or leave the spoon. i love mine, lightweight version is a no go. ill take the weight. even better f the ball cage wasnt plastic.
Nickster. Nick-a-rollo. Baron Von Nick. The Nickmeister. Ok, hear me now, and believe me later. I was ready to disagee with you. But then you saved it with your final conclusion by calling this masterpiece of use-ability, a gem!
This is the knife to take if you’re working at the Vaseline factory. Lol😂 dude u crack me up sometimes and I don’t even know if you’re trying to be funny
I think it's important to mention that the red loctite is no longer used and the warranty is not voided by disassembly.
Are you sure the warranty isn't voided by disassembly?
The Ace Yes, they have changed that.
The Ace only voided if they don’t think it’s up to their standards basically
i had a call with spyderco about putting on aftermarket scales/ ball cage. the warranty is not voided. how ever if you break the g10 or ball cage you will pay a service fee/ replacement if you disassemble.

I feel like pocket lint could block up the spring or the cheap feeling plastic nubs could break off. And so it stays around the house. Sounds like it's not actually a problem but I can't shake it.
With the flytanium cage lock this knife is a complete beast. By far my favorite knife I’ve ever had the pleasure of using
Just got my BHQ exclusive in M4 and natural g10. Amaaaazing
Shane Fields Dude. I wanna get one bad. But I just can't find room in the budget for another knife. Plus i have a lightweight already
I'm waiting for the black dlc M4 version
TheMawsJawz TM it's a steal at $135
Jake From State Farm yea I'm not too big on coated blades but that ones sweet too
Shane Fields I know that's why I really want one
Already bought the XL...
I wish spyderco made a xl size dragonfly. I like the blade shape.. They could call it the dragon 🐉
Maybe my hands are bigger than Nick's or just different, but to me, the Delica feels uncomfortably small, I still love it though.
balfemotor I wear xl gloves and the manix fits me well. I haven't ever tried the delica.
I would chose purple loctite, not blue. please correct me if i am wrong.
your manix 2 lw review was the reason i bought my manix 2 lw..for a knife that wasnt for you,you still called it a gem....almost forgot FIRST...anyways happy holiday to you and yours
My new favorite EDC, Blurple S110v. In a way I'm almost sad I found it, as I think it may be the perfect EDC.....not that I won't buy more knives though....:)
Same here!
Just got mine. I’m done buying knives at least til the end of the year.
Get you one in M390 or S90v and you won't wanna carry anything else.
Great review.I wish they made this knife with a 4-4.25 inch blade with CPM S35vn or XHP steel.
Barry Hemmy they do make an XL
I have this knife in S110V. The single sharpest factory edge I'd encountered. There's only one thing that I don't like about it and it's the spring tension on the lock. It does loosen over time, but it's never as easy to work with as the compression lock or BM's Axis lock.
snip 2 coils off the spring
Benchmade: *copies the spyderhole
Spyderco: two can play at that game
This is kind of a repeat comment but... I love my Manix2 lightweight... Probably my favorite knife... However... I don't carry it much because it freaks people out when I whip it out to cut plastic, boxes, etc... So I almost always carry either my Native 5 lightweight in S35VN or my Leatherman PS4... Great review as always...
I thought that Spyderco stopped using red loctite and revised their warranty to allow disassembly sometime this year. Was this video made before those changes?
Old video from the backlog.
The new acts should probably be annotated, then. Ditto for the disassembly video.
7:59 freeze = pm2 is thinner at the point by a bit
I have this knife and it's my EDC pocket knife. Solid knife for sure.
“Choose your choice”....great review Nick!
Watched. Bought it. Love it. Thanks
I love the knife I only wish the LOCK was the same as the Griptilian for easier opening...
Otherwise I still carry this every day in CPM S110V... thanks for a great review...
HS
I'm surprised you didn't mention the its weight. I've been meaning to mill mine out for a while.
PowerMountie some come milled out, the sprints and S110V, for example.
I noticed that just the base model doesn't come milled out.
Did you buy this model or the lightweight?
I'm finding myself wanting one of these badboys. Ledgend says they are "nice"
Sharpening choils really are worthless when cutting clothes/ fabrics they hang up real bad. Grateful Spyderco understands this
The tip of my g10 Manix 2 is slightly thicker than my pm2 actually
Same
I really want to get the Manix 2 XL... since I am left handed it makes all the difference to me.
Rodrigo Teresa that's strange spyderco usually has good quality control
I own well over 150 spyderco knives currently and have owned prolly 250 to 300 over the past ten years. I have never had a Spyderco that wasn't QCed very well. I have had a, couple that the edge bevels wasn't perfect but that's no matter to me as I'm going to reprofile it anyhow and put my edge on it. As far as fit and finish they are all first rate..
Does this knife drop shut or do you have to close it with your hand when you push the black switch up?
Hi did anyone notice their manix 2 ball lock to be quite stiff ? Mine is quite stiff and quite uncomfortable to press with my fingers to pull down .. I have to use quite a bit a pressure to pull it.. I was wondering if most are like this ? In the video it seemed like the one Nick had didn't take as much pressure.. I am playing with it trying to break it in .. anyone else have this with their manix2?
Manix is my favorite knife.
Thanks for the review. It's the next one that I want to get.
CVN71 OU812 You haven’t even finished the video at the time you posted this😂
BHQ still has the M4 version!
RHCP Perceptive.
Rodrigo Teresa Thanks for the heads up. They are just down the street from me.
Get the m4 version it is amazing
I'm not a fan of "skeletonized" knives. With all the "mods" and accessories for knives these days, does anyone know if an "add on" full liner back to fill in the void in the back of the Manix?
Nick what would u reccomend as edc for me. I like involving my knifes with my work but its a bit hard on the knives, I usaully am going through nasty/thick plastics and do this repeatedly for 8 hours every shift. Btw the workplace gives me a cardboard cutter but its so flimsy it either lasts like a week or dulls even quicker, 3 shifts max!
M4 Manix is nice?
Blaze they want to consider the Milwaukee fastback razor blade in some sort of knife for a back up this way you could beat the shit out of the razor knife but still have something good in your pocket to use once a while
M4 is a good option I think because i am working in a dry environment( no rusting/minimal) but ill have to save up for that 1 :D until then maybe I will go with the Milwaukee razor. Thanks for the help guys!
Hello, which version of this knife is better to buy? In your opinion. How to clean and lubricate the light version?
Hey nick, great video again. Might have to buy this one; people recommend it a lot.
I have few a video suggestions if you care to listen:
Knives better than a sebenza
Best knives under $100
Best lockbacks (or any lock)
The only thing that stops me from buying a manix 2 is that the spring is exposed.. so if you close the knive with some dirt or something on the blade it's likely gonna get into the spring
Camora Kidd
Its actually not bad, the spring coils are open enough its essentially self cleaning
Valuable information. I had intended to buy the black G-10 with the idea of adding copper scales. Now I know that would be more trouble than it should be AND I would void the warranty. Time to re-evaluate.
Disassembly no longer voids the warranty and the stopped using red loctite.
How do you like it in the left back pocket? That's were I cary
“This is a great knife to take into the vaseline factory…”
I absolutely lost it, thanks Nick!!!
Would this knife be able to be converted to an auto opener ?
Should I buy the manix 2 or spend slightly more and get the protech tr-4 or 5
Is the BD1N that bad or should I be fine if I go with the cheaper version. Any insight is appreciated thx
I have the m390 version of the manix 2 and in my opinion its the greatest working spyderco they make for my xl hands.
@Nick Shabazz or Anyone -
Manix 2 has a ball bearing lock.
I really like both the ball bearing lock on my manix lw and the compression on my shaman I dont think I could pick a winner there by any means
No I dont bush craft and if I did I'd use one of my fixed blades that said I think the shaman is easily tough enough
A thumb ramp can give extra grip if your "stabbing" in to what ever medea your cutting that said the shaman has a great handle so it wouldn't be a problem..... have the jimped thumb ramp and choil was nice for getting my hand on the blade to get a deep splinter out of my sons hand not to long ago
More on the lock types
The ball bearing locks position is nice to grab with my thumb and index finger and whip the knife closed after I make my cut while with the compression lock the shaman simply drops and closes under gravity (I think the manix may do that if its blade was as heavy) but all in the experience of one handed closing after a quick use is slightly more enjoyable with the manix
I dont think the ball bearing is a good choice for an environment where the knife is exposed to mud and gunk because of its exposed coil spring which is why I use a delica at work (back lock) this is really kind of a nit pick though
Personally I prefer the pm2 ergonomics mostly due to the nested liners
I thought spyderco allowed disassembly on their knives now?
Grasmsuson I'm pretty sure this is an older video that he never posted or something.
I have the opportunity to buy this nice this week. Should I do it? I really want a quality knife and my wife is letting me get one. I have a tenacious. Good knife. But I want an upgrade. I love your reviews
I completely agree with your conclusion. Sometimes we see eye to eye. ;-) (when I keep one closed) :-D
I have two pm2s (s110 and s30)...do i need one of these? In maxamet??
I thought spyderco was changing their warranty policy on disassembly??
Joshua Burkhead this was filmed in march
They did, they changed it way back.
But this was filmed before that.
@@nintendontbutdo5507 cowboys need to get their boots dusty
You are not alone I think the wire clip the best clip spyderco has to offer
My solid carbon fiber, and cruwear manix is my favorite edc. Great knife.
its cool they have options for the lightweight version if you travel and what ever. but im not paying 100 bucks for a cheap wire clip. mke it out of titanium or leave the spoon. i love mine, lightweight version is a no go. ill take the weight. even better f the ball cage wasnt plastic.
Hey Nick, would you recommend for EDC a Buck Vantage Pro, or a Spyderco Delica?
Ben Lee pm3
I got the delica (great knife)but pm3 is more of a serious tool while the delica more of a sportsmans knife
Delica!
Para3 sucks if you have really wide palms as hump at the back sucks balls
I much rather a Delica or Para Military 2 or Manix 2 G10/LW versions
Nickster. Nick-a-rollo. Baron Von Nick. The Nickmeister. Ok, hear me now, and believe me later. I was ready to disagee with you. But then you saved it with your final conclusion by calling this masterpiece of use-ability, a gem!
And yes, im that awesome!
Can you please do a comparison between this and the paramilitary 2?
I have the 20CV and the S110V versions (red and blue). Literally have nothing negative to say about them. 🤷🏻♂️🤘🏻🇨🇦
Any way to exchange the plastic texture pads for metal ones?
This is the knife to take if you’re working at the Vaseline factory. Lol😂 dude u crack me up sometimes and I don’t even know if you’re trying to be funny
Just bought this with the brass flytanium scales. I'm excited.
