Got my first Spyderco this year, now I have the 3 standard PM2 in S45VN, M4, and Cruwear. 1 tanto PM2 in S30V, and 2 Wharnie PM2 in S30V and XHP. I love the Shaman as well and my Manix is cool. In my opinion, the compression lock is king. I love the Manix but it’s not close to drop shut action like all my compression locks. Gotta flick my hand to close the Manix like all other bar locks. The PM2 Emerson blade in Elmax is available right now in BladeOps. Thinking about getting it to have the 4 blade shapes of the PM2. The good thing about Spyderco exclusives is, you can’t lose. Even if you change your mind later. It can be sold for profit. Good video comparison, keep ‘em coming.
Thank you for sharing what your Spyderco experience has been like my friend! It’s true, their knives are so good, once you own one and experience it, it’s super tough not to get more. I saw the Emerson Elmax pm2 BladeOps Exclusive. It’s very interesting and kinda funky imo. But you’re right, you can’t go wrong, I’m sure once they’re all sold out, they will still hold a ton of value. Thank you for your comment! 🤝🏼
I have a 135 Spyderco knives and it can be addictive if you have extra income to throw around. Those days are over. 3 years of purchasing knives weekly, now it’s here and there and will eventually sell or trade some. Have fun 👍🏻 great knives
Wow 135 total spyderco knives, now that’s a sweet bunch right there. But yes to your point, they’re not necessarily giving these knives away and the prices can quickly add up. I feel you there 100%, hence why I only have a hand full for now. 😅 Maybe when my YT channel grows more. 💸Thank you for your comment! 🤝🏼
So true I bought my first manix2 the m4 version then got the s30v version then the Rex 45 one all within the first month of getting knives I love the Manix so many options
The s110v manix 2 and most exclusives and sprints have skeletonized liners and with some ti hardware it will only be .3 or so heavier than the pm2. Just some info 🙋♂️
My edc for the last year or so has been the translucent blue Manix 2 lightweight, and just yesterday I ordered the standard g10 version that you featured in this video. The Spyderco ball bearing lock has been around for years now, in your opinion, why haven't they utilized it in any other of their many models of knives (at least as an option)? I wished they would?!
In my search for a replacement EDC for the stainless Delica I've been carrying for almost 10 years, I ended up with these exact two knives, other than the camo G10 scales on my PM2. Neither of them checked all the boxes for my EDC, as they are both a little large. But between the two, I have to give it to the Manix 2. Mostly because the tab on the compression lock on the PM2 pinches my index finger every time I flick it open. As much as I like the PM2, that alone turned me off. I upgraded the Manix 2 with Titanium hardware, ball cage, and ceramic ball. It is now my Sunday knife, Lol.
This is a tough call. I don't have the Manix 2 but I do have the Manix 2 XL. It's a beast. I pick between these two knives a few times per month and it's never easy.
Right that’s so true, I’m always torn between the two because I love the tow so much! I love rotating between all my spyderco’s. I love them all. 🙌🏼 Thank you for your comment! 🤝🏼
Thank you for suggesting I really appreciate it. I plan on doing so more upgrades to my spyderco knives in the future. I’ll be considering these clips you recommended and I also probably want to pick up some Original Goat scales too. Those look pretty sick from what I’ve seen. Thank you for your comment! 🤝🏼
@@MiguelEDC Look into the AWT scales also. They delete both liners and the lanyard tube. I put a set on a pm2 and it weighs what a para 3 weighs. The manix should shed even more weight. Good luck 👍🏻
I’d like too see a stonewashed finish on more pm2’s. The Military 2 hasn’t left my pocket since I got it a few months back. If you like the pm2 and like bigger knives you’ll love the Military 2.
The manix 2 really wants to be held one way. I love the positive loud click the para 2 makes. The para 2 is easier and faster for me to close. I own bothand I'd chose the para 2 if i had to chose. Tbh though my Emerson wave endura is what i actually carry
I may be wrong but it's my understanding both knives would be considered over three inches as it is based on the total length of the blade regardless of what the actual cutting edge is.
I'm considering buying all of the different variants of the manix 2 and maybe one or two pm2 and then using some of the manix to cut and destroy the pm2....
I don’t have an example because I’m not lefty but for example, they sell the pm2 left hand version which has a mirrored version of the compression lock. Check it out, let me know if you see what I mean. Thank you for your comment! 🤝🏼
Lol I guess you voted with your dollars there on which one you would rather have more of for sure! 😅 thank you for sharing and Thank you for your comment! 🤝🏼

RGT universal clip is great for the manix 2. A Lynch clip is way deep in the pocket, if it works for you, cool.

Uffff yes the Military 2 with the compression lock. I saw when those started coming out and want one so bad. 🔥

Nice video. Just bought a manix 2 LW in cpm-m4 for $135 on blade hq. The cts-bd1 is more expensive 😂
Thank you for the feedback! Really means a lot! And congratulations on your new manix 2, later on you can upgrade the LW scales to whatever you want!
I want a manix2, but after asking a dealer to check for bladeplay, he said both he checked, had up & down bladeplay
That’s so strange. I’ve experience two spyderco manix 2’s and both are solid, and no blade play at all. Thank you for your comment! 🤝🏼
@@MiguelEDC I will try to get one in hand.... very difficult to find a manix in South Africa
Given the same materials, I tend to use the Manix 2 more.
Nice! Thank you for sharing. So do you tend to steer more towards the ball bearing lock vs compression lock then?
I can’t think of one other Spyderco that has a left hand version of the compression lock. Please do fill me in if you have an example 👍🏻

The Manix 2 would be the perfect Spyderco knife if it has the compression lock
That’s an interesting hot take. I take it you’re more of a compression lock fan?!
I love the both of these knifes,I have 7 pm2 and 3 manix 2,so I guess I like the pm2 a little more 😅

I’ve bought a couple of knives from them, they are legit.
