My Aunt is a hairdresser and got me a professional straightener that I can choose the heat TO THE DEGREE. I love it. Now with these tips im GOOD TO GO lol. (Only once in a while don't worry)
And that without the ridiculous price tag Dyson asks. Dyson only loses to Apple regarding outragenous price tags for their status instead of the products they make.
I love the advice, also some constructive criticism, I personally like my hair nearly pin straight when I choose to flat iron it. Your end result just looks like a sleek blow out and not a true press. It’s still looks great though.
I agree. I have very curly hair and I’m able to get bone straight hair using The Glam Twinz method and my hair always reverts fine I only do it two or three times per year.
Agreed. This is what happens if you use 65 degrees and only go over it once, no smoothing serum. If I wanted my hair too look like a blow out I would do a blow out.
I'm glad I'm not the only one thought that, my old not at all fancy straightener gets a sleeker result on lower temps than this really expensive Dyson one.
I think the key to sleek straight hair if you have curly hair is put extra moisture into your hair (for example leave warn castor oil in your hair before washing) and then let your hair air dry mostly, then blowdry when it's not soaking wet, as much as ucan and then go over it with a straightener for the necessary bits.
constructive criticism POV this is too puffy , i mean when i want to make the choice to straighten my hair I would do it when i want it straight and not puffy , there is a difference between regular hair volume and puffy hair volume , and I’m getting puffy volume vibes from this look but it still looks good on you but not everyone can pull it off

You are too funny. It’s cool seeing how diverse our hair can be but I looooove your curly hair! I love twilight too but I’m team Jacob lol and I also love watching Gilmore Girls :)
Do you have any tips on how to keep hair from reverting back or to keep it as straight as possible during a workout without having to apply heat through it again ?
i’m not mell (obviously) but if you still need some tips, from experience i normally put it up in a bun or ponytail or in a clip. then i spray my roots with dry shampoo so it can absorb some of the sweat. and then i just pray for the best lol.
I would have no hair left if I ran that kind of brush through it that many times. Literally every time I *touch* my hair I get a handful of hair fall. Honestly, I'm amazed every day that I still have hair on my head because so much of it comes out.
My hair is like yours. I have to use a dryer with the brush attachment. Old school type. Otherwise, its frizzy and too poofy like yours was after it is dried. The dryer that I use makes it almost smooth enough to pass as straightened before I actually straighten it. I now dont need to use the flat iron as much.
Tubi is life!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 hahaha love that shouted that out! This was very helpful I haven’t straightened in years and used to be on relaxed all day long, lived in straightened hair in a tubi!!! Hahaha.
Have you tested out the blow dry brushes that are out there at all?? (The Revlon, drybar, etc) I’ve been debating one but I’m wondering about the heat damage from using those
I have not straightened my hair in probably 4-6 years (idk covid messed up my time telling tbh) but nevertheless I do miss it. However, it took a TON of time for my hair to heal so I don’t want to take steps backward so here I am for the content from Mell because I know, she knows what she’s talking about 🤔
Ahhh! I just adore you, you have helped me so much! I hope I get a chance to meet you n your sister one day! Thank you for all your help and your videos, they have helped me so much. Love you and your videos 💕💕
Mell please help 🙏🏻, I have scanned everything on the internet to find the answer to my question: See I want to retain moisture within my hair, so is it safe to apply the tiniest amount of each one of leave-in conditioner + heat protectant + styling cream (to control frizz while using heat), then blow-dry the hair straight (using traditional round brush & blowdryer)? or will this cause build-up / damage my hair? Thanks a lot for all the detailed explanations and tips that you give for free on your channel, I appreciate it all love 🧡🧡
I have curly/ringlet curls and it is highlighted. I used to straighten my hair for years and then stopped and went curly. I have been curly for over 10 year now. But, I do straighten my hair from time to time, however whenever I do my hair goes really fluffy (not frizzy), this never used to happen. It has been over the past couple of years, this makes me not want to straighten it because it just looks a mess and becomes pointless in having spent the time straighten it. I use smoothing shampoo and conditioner and heat protectant. Why does it go fluffy?
Is so nice to see your channel grow so much, like a pro working with big brands. You may want to do something about the quality of your audio, it has a lot of echo. I do a hair wrap when I want straight hair, in the morning I then only use the iron for the roots. Worked like a charm on very thin, pink hair for about 4 years, with minimal damage. Of course Iost most of my curl pattern. Great video :)

i’m not mell (obviously) but if you still need some tips, from experience i normally put it up in a bun or ponytail or in a clip. then i spray my roots with dry shampoo so it can absorb some of the sweat. and then i just pray for the best lol.
Great tips Mel as always! Makes me want to straighten my hair. Can I just say the hair blowing in the wind in the bloopers is just FAB! Lolol
Since you're Italian, straight-hair Mell should be the Mella Lisa 😁💜
OMG LOVE THE TWILIGHT SHOUT OUT AT THE END (I did not know it was possible to love Mell more than I already do, but hey, not mad at all)
I would have no hair left if I ran that kind of brush through it that many times. Literally every time I *touch* my hair I get a handful of hair fall. Honestly, I'm amazed every day that I still have hair on my head because so much of it comes out.
I have the same problem!!!
See a dermatologist. Get your thyroid checked. Good luck!
@@ambernoland1506 I've done both of those. Thanks?
My hair is like yours. I have to use a dryer with the brush attachment. Old school type. Otherwise, its frizzy and too poofy like yours was after it is dried. The dryer that I use makes it almost smooth enough to pass as straightened before I actually straighten it. I now dont need to use the flat iron as much.
Tubi is life!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 hahaha love that shouted that out! This was very helpful I haven’t straightened in years and used to be on relaxed all day long, lived in straightened hair in a tubi!!! Hahaha.
What dryer do you suggest when you can’t afford the Dyson? I feel like I use the dryer forever and it causes damage for both curly and straight.
As long as the heat is comfortable on your scalp/skin, it won't damage your hair
dyson + purple hair straightener = amazing!!!
You look like rapunzel when you straighten your hair!!!!!😍
Her hair is gorgeous, curly and straightened ☺️
hii mell!! i would love it if you could make a video about protecting your hair while working out! love youu
Yas I'm working it out ;) make sure you see this video on that topic in the meantime!: ruclips.net/video/yE3FlfDYpmc/видео.html
Love ! But can you make a video with a affordable flat iron, would love to get a Dyson but both dryer and flat iron together is almost 1000$
Not Dominican but I know about wrapping my straight do..lol. I haven’t straighten my hair in over a year so going to try it.
However, it took a TON of time for my hair to heal so I don’t want to take steps backward so here I am for the content from Mell because I know, she knows what she’s talking about 🤔
havent straightened my hair in like 10 years lol. this was so helpful, thanks!
Looking good straight hair Melanie 😍
How about if you do a roller set, will the result be the same?! Please make a video of this!!! I must say I got hype when I heard tubi!!!🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
Ahhh! I just adore you, you have helped me so much! I hope I get a chance to meet you n your sister one day! Thank you for all your help and your videos, they have helped me so much. Love you and your videos 💕💕
This is so so helpful! Thank you so much! I’ve learned so much and really appreciate your editing with these videos- informative and engaging!😍😘
My seester Amanda always nails it with the editing, thank you for appreciating that we appreciate you!! xoxo
Thank you!! Very helpful to know not to air dry first. Definitely made that mistake before because blow drying takes forever and I’m lazy! 😂
Omg I was gonna straighten my hair tonight for the first time in 6 months tonight. Lmao perfect.
Yess I have been waiting for this!!!!
Very Mellegant 😍💁🏽♀️
PS my arms got tired just reading the title of the video

@@valancystirling yeah I love the style and great color
Minute 10:02 someone creepily enters the bathroom, it was really funny... I've been binge watching your videos Mell, keep it up, you're awesome!
I literally used to flat iron my WET hair straight from the shower with it set to like 400 degrees in middle school. I loved hearing it cook 😭
We need that twilight tictok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Follow @sarahelizabeth327 and thank me later 😂😂😂
TEAM EDWARD FOR LIFE OMGGGGG YES LOVE YOU
I have curly/ringlet curls and it is highlighted.
Lol! So cute cross eyed! Am I the only one who noticed Mell cross eyed for a few seconds?
Is so nice to see your channel grow so much, like a pro working with big brands. You may want to do something about the quality of your audio, it has a lot of echo. I do a hair wrap when I want straight hair, in the morning I then only use the iron for the roots. Worked like a charm on very thin, pink hair for about 4 years, with minimal damage. Of course Iost most of my curl pattern. Great video :)
YESSS! 😄😄 Thank you so much for this lol I needed this video in my life
Mell reads my thoughts . I swear I was gonna straighten my hair next week
