I LITERALLY picked up my phone and searched your video just to tell you THANK YOUUUU!!!! I have high density, coarse, low porosity, kinky/curly, long hair. As my hair has grown longer round brushing has felt more exhausting and I wasn’t yielding the results. This method you showed us….GAME.CHANGER. I never thought to focus on getting the roots completely dry first….thats honestly the hardest part. If the roots aren’t right for curly hair the whole blow dry results are just trashed lol all the curly girls know 😂 Your technique made round brushing my hair sooooo easy and actually enjoyable because I don’t have to guess my results! I know as long as my roots are on point everything else will be great! (For reference, I washed and blow dried my hair earlier but used a product that looked horrible in my hair…so I had to wash it out and blow dry it again) so I thought, omg I’m tired I NEED to make sure another hour of blow drying my hair is worth it with the results so I said I’m going to try this technique again! Earlier today I used just a paddle brush out of laziness and the results were horrific. I won’t ever blowout my hair any other way now that you’ve showed us this. I think in your updated technique you go section by section with blow drying the roots and then the whole length of the section? vs blow drying the roots all over the head first? I’ve tried both and most definitely going section by section with drying roots first and then the whole length of my hair was the best way for me to maintain control of my hair while drying! I was also able to blow dry in much larger sections that usual doing it this way. And the results are by farrrrr the best I’ve ever had! THANK YOU! ❤️ literally every curly girl needs to see this blowout video! This is by far the best technique I’ve ever come across!!!! 🥰
❤ also I woke up this morning planning to run a flat iron through my hair just to smooth things out….nope, no need to. It looks like I already used a flat iron. The roots looks great! No frizz at all. And no frizz around my edges. And I forgot to say that I didn’t even deep condition my hair, only regular conditioner. Usually I hate weeks of my hair where I don’t deep condition because my results wouldn’t be as smooth as when I deep condition. So after blow drying like this, you can’t even tell a difference in if I deep conditioned or not! It actually looks like I did 🙌🏽
I never comment on vids, but just wanted to say this is the first time I’ve been able to achieve a salon quality blowout. I’ve been using blow dryer brushes but it never looks as good as a salon blowout for me because of how curly my hair is. Thank you for showing this method, I’m never going back!
I cannot express the gratitude I have for this video. I have wavy curly hair and never knew how to care for it. I like smooth blow dried hair, but only started blow drying consistently about a year ago. I always just straightened my roots out afterwards. I have been trying to reduce the amount of heat I use on my hair and have been battling my curly roots! BLOWDRYING THEM FIRST WHILE WET IS A REVELATION TO ME!
I don't understand how your roots didn't frizz from residual moisture undoing the first round of blow-drying but it worked! This is probably one of the top blowout vids for curly hair. Thank you for sharing your method!
This method worked like a charm for me, i have curly coarse hair and live in a high humidity city. It saved me so much time and didnt feel my hair burning or anything comparing it when in a hair salon. Thank you so much
My hair is the same texture as yours but almost waist length. I've been round brushing my hair out since the early 90's. It takes me about 35 minutes and I do it by sections. However, instead of drying all the roots and going back in to do the rest of the hair, I do root to tip and style as I go. My hair is always healthy and shiny. I never use styling tools, only the blow dryer, and I never get split ends. I wash my hair every two days and get a trim every 6-8 months. I had highlights for over 20 years but decided to go natural 4 years ago and now have platinum white/gray, almost waist length hair. I still do the same routine, but use a clarifying shampoo once a week and a purple shampoo twice a month to keep my hair bright white. I don't and have never used a lot of product on my hair. I keep it simple. Thanks for sharing.
Was there any breakage/damage when you had your highlights? I want to start doing this, but I also want to get blonde highlights or a balayage, so im kind of nervous 😓.
@miracle3901 The key to not getting damaged hair when doing any hair color, including highlights, is to find an excellent professional hair colorist. They do nothing but color! I also had a Paris trained hair stylist to cut my hair. Paris trained hairstylist are some of the best in the world because their training is longer and more rigorous before getting their license. So, my hair cuts were always very nice that I could go outside in the wind, and my hair would literally fall back into place. So, look for a good colorist and I think you'll be fine. Find a professional line of products that works well for your hair, and the more natural, the better. Definitely one without sulfates. When I had highlights, I would deep condition my hair once a week. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best.
Thank you!! This video is literally God sent! 🙌 I was struggling to get my roots straight with my flat iron alone, so my hair always looks “poofy” when I straighten it due to my curly roots. You taught me that you should blow dry your roots FIRST to get them as straight as possible. I’m 30 but I guess it’s never too late to learn. 🤷♀️😂
Must be something about the 30s 😂 I’m turning 30 in a few months and glad I know this going into the next decade 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I will be wearing my hair sooo different now! Woo!
Seeing your video gave me the courage and confidence to try this (i ordered a round brush and blow dyer 😂) i’m so excited i’ve never done this myself but your video may change that! i will update
Thank you so much for the tutorial! My dad used blow dry my hair like this when i was 3-9 yrs old. I always wondered why I randomly woke up with wavy hair one day after he stopped 😭 I realized it was cause of this method that left my hair straight throughout my childhood. Now today I just finished my hair with a revlon brush and this method left my hair barely frizzy compared to using a straightener. I think I will buy a roller brush cause I think my results would be different and I had better results as a kid with the roller brush ❤
Thank you very much. I blow dried my hair straight for the first time last week and it was a mess. I used a paddle brush and just couldn’t get it right. You did a great job. I can’t wait to try your method.
Which round brush do you use? Where can I purchase it? YOU HAVE THE BEST BLOWOUT ROUTINE I HAVE EVER SEEN! 💕 better than a lot of professional hairstylists.
I can't believe this only took 30 minutes. I have about the same length and it takes my hair stylist (and myself) over 1.5 hours. Are you including the time you section hair?
Same here ! It takes me one hour and a half to do (with flat iron). If i could straighten my hair this good in 30 minutes i would save so much time. Will be trying this for sure !!
@@sannelouisegunther1432 i find when straightening curly hair with a blow dryer you have to round the ends as much as possible. roll the ends of the hair in the brush like I do in the video - and of course regular haircuts !
I forgot to mention I also had an undercut ! So the first layer of hair at the nape of my neck was shaved ! Probably takes off about 15 min from my routine
I'm literally giving up right now to do my own hair. It's just too long and curly, and my arms been killing me. Literally takes me 3.5 hours🥺 I will definitely try your tip once I feel confident enough to start again.
Gorgeous! This was the video I needed years ago before I chopped it all off! Growing it out again so I'll for sure use these tips and products. Thank you!
wow! wow! wow! this was some amazing home video you made drying out your hair :D My hair is like yours and I just get so tired blowing out my hair and when I do, does not come out like yours, YOUR HAIR IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND MUCH OF IT , TOO GOD BLESS IT :D Thank you so much for sharing with us on how to blow dry ones hair and ALL of the tools you use...it actually made me cry out of happiness and also sadness because I can't make my hair look like yours but I was completely so happy seeing your end result of your hair: so pretty (your hair 😍) and so much abundance you got of hair, again, may God bless it and keep having that beautiful chunk of hair : thank you, thank you, thank you 😄😄😄👍👍👍
This was amazing i always wondered why my blow out straight hair start forming waves after a while it was because i didn't straighten the roots first thank you so much for this❤
I need to try that oi oil! It looks so good. This is hard work I start sweating from the bottom of my hair and it starts to curl 😢. This outcome was beautiful !!
I've worn short, like pixie short hair all my life. I let my hair grow out during the pandemic, and it's a little longer than shoulder length. I was surprised at how much curl I have, and really struggled with styling it. This is the best blowout video I've ever watched. I used to poopoo hair products, but you really do need the proper products and tools. Definitely ordering the products you recommend! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise! Great video❤
Coming backkkkk! Omg my blow outs have never been the same with this technique!!! I have kinky curly high density coarse hair. And omgggg this is a game changer. I do my roots first each section though because if I did my roots all over first my hair would be so hard to control 😂 anyways the same technique just WORKS. I also just tried the same exact round brush and that’s a total game changer too! I’ve used boar bristle round brushes in the past. One I didn’t get enough tension and the other one I got tension but the bristles were really stiff. Idk I didn’t like the texture of them. Anyways this brush is PERFECT! I’ve tried to use a ceramic round brush in my hair but for at home blowouts it just doesn’t work for me. My stylist uses them when I go to the salon every 2 weeks but I just don’t get great at home results with them. I feel that I have WAY more control using the boar bristle round brush as home and it distributes the oil/ product through my hair much better. So coming back to say THANK YOU for sharing this technique and brush with us!!!
I'm excited to try this bc it's different advice than most I see people give especially doing all the roots first and starting wet. I'm slowly getting there but not happy with my results yet.
OMG! I love your hair, I wish I had hair like this. I used to have hair the same length as yours and sadly I cut it because of those split ends. BTW, I honestly love the way to styled it. It looks good on you.
Same type of hair and thick n lots of it like mine. My shoulders start to get tired by the time I finish and I start to sweat at my nape area due to the blow dryer and heat it creates. But satisfying at the end…😊
I will try this method. I have stayed away from electric brushes due my hair got tangled with a Conair brush years ago. I was trying to give myself a flip front like former actress Farrah Fawcett. I end up cutting the brush out along with my hair close to my scalp 😮. I will have to try this method to see if it works for me. Thanks for sharing 😊
I’ve hated my curly hair as long as I can remember. People would always tell me how pretty it was but I never saw it and still don’t. It weird tho because when I was a toddler i had straight gorgeous blonde hair that was straight and it got extremely curly when I hit age 11. My hair also takes forever to grow and it only grown many even 2 or 3 inches in 2 years. I haven’t been using as much heat as I used too and my hair feels even worse now. Sometimes I just wanna cut it off. I use really high quality products like redken and Ouai. My shampoo ive been using for years is shea moisture coconut hibiscus and the Jamaican castor oil one. Having hair like this is such a struggle.
I’m really sorry you’re struggling with your natural hair. To be honest I love my curls I just don’t have the time required to make it look nice every day - with my curls after 2 days I have to do it over. If your hair isn’t doing well on the products you’re using I would try switching. Especially the conditioner . Hair goes through phases of needing more moisture vs. Protein etc. and maybe less shampoo and wet/condition instead every other time you would normally shampoo and see if that helps. I also have a curly hair routine on my channel ! Maybe for some tips and tricks xoxo
People with blonde hair, barely have any hair, it's so thin and limp, flat and stringy, who wants thinning hair, need more volume and body with thick hair, so yes curly hair is beautiful.
@@sduolcepoh9815I know plenty of natural blondes that have a ton of fine hair, so their hair is thick but the texture is fine. Blondes have the most strands on their head because of the circumference of each strand. Redheads have the least strands because of their thicker circumference of each strand. Brown and black hair can go either way or be in between.
Like the way it is on the video ? Or in different videos - in some of the other videos I use a 1.5 inch curling iron and just a bit of hairspray at the end . In this video it’s just the round brush - I hold the hair wrapped around the brush and let it cook before releasing it to keep the curl xo
Thank you! I use high heat so that it’s faster! If I use peer heat I end up having to pass the below dryer over my hair a lot more. If you’re starting out I would use lower heat setting but I’m pretty fast lol so I use it on high ! Xo
This is the best blowout video I came across...also I want to know how to maintain hair from humidity outside, as it gets frizzy when I go outside...and how to get frizz free roots?
How long does it take for you to blowdry and what heat and speed setting do you use? And do you wait for it to get 80% dry or just start when it's wet?
It takes me 35/40 min . (I have an undercut here) you’ll see on the video I stretch my roots first then my ends. The video is a bit long but it’s because I tried to be as detailed as possible ❤️
Have you tried the Dyson airstrait by any chance! If so would love to hear your thoughts. You have gorgeous hair whether it curly or straight!. Thanks for this video.
I loved this tutorial! I liked, subscribed and here is my comment or question: why do you point the dryer directly at the hair sometimes? I love that this video brings all the ideas together. I watched it again and again. ❤
Can't wait to try this, it looks so good!! I was looking for the tigi catwalk blow out balm but i can't find it anywhere, not sure if it was discontinued or just not available in the uk. Is there another product you'd recommend as an alternative?
This is the first time I’ve actually managed to dry my hair in under an hour, Finally a technique that works on my hair type!

Blondes have the most strands on their head because of the circumference of each strand. Redheads have the least strands because of their thicker circumference of each strand. Brown and black hair can go either way or be in between.
Can't wait to try this. Thank you!!
Wow very nice technique and beautiful hair! I have to try this
Thank you !!
Would love to see this done on super curly hair!
Her hair is super curly.
@ are you okay? I’m talking about African American hair.
GORGEOUS! best blow dry ever seen & getting all products !
I’m so glad you found it helpful ! Xoxo
The best! I try this out and it work! ❤ tyvm for this video, I never thought this is what I need it for my hair! I give 10/10! 🎉
Your welcome! Xoxox
Parts of my hair dry fast. Would I ever have to wet it again in order to get these results? Your hair came out so good, I love it!!!
I used to have to wet it again if it got too dry !
Thank you for the response!
Would love to see how you curl your ends and products you use for that. My hair texture is the same as yours. Thank you 😊
Like the way it is on the video ? Or in different videos - in some of the other videos I use a 1.5 inch curling iron and just a bit of hairspray at the end . In this video it’s just the round brush - I hold the hair wrapped around the brush and let it cook before releasing it to keep the curl xo
Going to try this soon! I've got 3b hair and can do a blowout but always needed to flat iron the roots. I hope this helps!
Let me know how it goes ! Xx
You are the first hair dresser to really understand that for curly hair each strand has to be wet to straighten it
Just perfect! Thank you sweetheart for showing us the right way ❤ love from Greece ❤
So happy you found this helpful!! Ugh one of my favourite places ❤️😘😘
Thank you so much for sharing this. I am getting great results with a keratin treatment on 4a texture hair.😊
I also bought the same brush.
Amazing! That brush has lasted me almost 10 years , I’m about to replace it with the exact same one , can’t do my blow dry without it !
Omg love your hair color 😍😍😍 sleek sleek
Thank you !! Xo
I was gonna give myself a blowout but I needed to see it on curly hair first tyy
Thank you so much for this video❤ your hair looks so healthy. how often do you blow dry your hair?
once a week! im so happy you found it helpful! xox
Blowing out your curly hair is a full time job
U just saved my life by this video thnx beautiful keep going❤❤❤
Aw yay! I’m so glad. Thank you lovely I appreciate you
This is so great and thank you for such a detailed video! 👏🏾❤Is the blow dryer on medium or high heat? Also do you have any heat damage?
It’s kind of inevitable , I wear it in a ponytail and will touch up the frizz layer
Really helpful though I've got straight hair! I'll surely remember to use your tips in the future
This is the best blowout video on RUclips you just saved me so much time thank u so much fr fr fr
Your welcome !!!! And thank you ❤️❤️
I’m trying this ASAP! Thank you!!!! ❤❤❤
Stunning!!! Definitely gonna try this!! 👌💯
You look very good. Ur hairs turned very nice
Thank you very much !
Finally! A hair that looks like mine.
You are the first person I have seen that dries her curly hair the same way that I do. I have been doing it that way for 30 years.
Do you have any details on your hair color?? I just love it!
I go to a salon for highlights with a shadow root !
I have 3a curly hai and it frizzes really badly after blow dry. Will try your technique ❤ youre beautiful ❤. Thanks ❤
This is life changing!!
You are so pretty! Love your hair! ❤
Thank you so much !!
Have you tried the Dyson airstrait by any chance! If so would love to hear your thoughts. You have gorgeous hair whether it curly or straight!. Thanks for this video.
Thank you ! No I haven’t tried it yet !! If I ever get my hands on one I’ll FOR SURE do a video !!!
Thank you so much ! How do you keep it from frizzing up later ?
I wear a silk bonnet to bed and wear in a ponytail when it’s humid / raining
Very good advice thank you for thoughtfully explaining
Any suggestions on a round brush??? Gorgeous results! Your texture and thickness look similar to my hair.
The spike 38 by Evo is what I use ! X
Is your blow dryer on the hottest setting? And how wet or dry should the hair be when stretching the roots?
High heat! They should be towel dried /very wet but doesn’t have to be dripping .
Thank you so much for this! Can you show the back of the head more? Always have trouble with that!
Want to try this but it looks like the catwalk blow out balm is discontinued now- any recommendation for a substitute product?
Yes! Moroccan oil blow dry serum !!
Do you have a link for the round brush? Thanks
It’s the Evo spike 38mm
Soo good! But i can't do it😢
My hair is curly and fluffy my hands getting tired and its not working for me
I want your before hair!!
It’s discontinued 😩 I use Moroccan oil blow dry serum instead xox
Thanks for the great tips and tricks!
So happy it helped!! 🤍
Such sound advice, thank you so much. God bless you.
Can i do it with a wide tooth comb??? Btw tysmm for this tutorial, i love my natural hair, but straight hair looks better on me
Thank you ! No, you need the tension from the right bristles , a comb won’t give you the same tension 🤍
This was such an informative video! Do you find you’re able to style hair after, like curl it or do soft waves?
Hi there! Thanks so much ! Yes absolutely !! I also do overnight curls now too which is such a great way to keep it looking nice after straightening
Your hair and tutorial is amazing. My problem is i cannot do the back. Thanks for an amazing tutorial
this actually helped so much!! tysm!
Yay!!!!
Thank you so much. This is so realistic. I have to try this.
You’re welcome ! Happy it was helpful
Looks Beautiful ❤
Thank you for this video! I love your hair color. I want to copy your Hi lites/low lites.
Thank you! I get it done at a salon. Best bet is to screenshot and bring it to your hairstylist! Xo
