Heads Up: After determining that the motor was not turning, I saw that the two white cables supplying 110V to the motor were only twisted around and not soldered to the motor connectors and were somewhat loose. I soldered both connections and everything was fine. I don't know if this was a manufacturing defect or just a careless design. Fortunately, I did not have to buy a new one.
😂😂😂 my ON/OFF and dial are stopped in the exact same position!! How bizarre! 🤣🤣 FYI- we call that a “star driver”. Do it know if that Isidro t nomenclature but that is what our family calls it.
Question, I have one of these timers for outdoor lights to my garage. I just ordered new trippers for it. so when the lights turn on, the timer stops moving. I don't see the gears moving at all when the lights are on so it wont ever shut off. Do you think its the motor or not wired right. Just moved into this house a few months ago and not sure how its wired up.
So it's moving to trip the lights on. Could be as simple as you having 2 'ON' trippers? Found this little troubleshooting guide. Could be the line and load wires were reversed. waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-Intermatic-timer.html
i just changed my new timer motor and it worked great ...for about an hour then stopped spinning. then put another one in and ran for an hour then stopped spinning. help.
hey! i have this exact timer and i have it set to automatically start at 10 am and stop at 7 pm. the only issue i have is that when i want to go into the pool at 8 pm and i turn the switch to on it only runs the pump for about 10 minutes and then it shuts off. can you explain how to fix this? thanks
The only time I've see things shut off like you are describing was due to my pool pump motor overheating. I recommend watching the timer. Power outages throw off what we think our settings are. So there may be a chance what once was a 7PM off time became an 8:05 one? So double check the position of the ON/OFF switch trippers.
Uh….. you still have lethal voltage on the bus bar of that breaker. I would have killed the mains voltage at the main panel - and verify it with a multimeter.
if the motor to the timer stops working would the manual switch work regardless? My timer stopped and when I switch it on manually the pump doesnt turn on. my 240 breaker also flipped. checked breaker. still have 240 reading both at breaker box and at timer junction box. would anything malfunction with the timer cause my pool pump to not work, or does this sound like a pool pump issue?
@@justinhall7942 thank you. and if the Shaft spins free and smooth, which it does could that be something electrical? it definitely was getting very loud.
@@beatmasterflex I will say when bearings were shot, I was still able to spin the shaft. I do remember hearing the motor hum for like 5 to 10 seconds though and kicking off. I would think you'd be able to do the same
I don’t think the manual mode will work either. My timer stopped working all of a sudden and the wheels won’t spin. Neither does the manual mode. It’s getting electricity and there is at any sound coming from pump when it’s flipped on.
You can actually adjust the time by pulling out the yellow clock face and turning it in either direction to line up with the current time arrow.
Good detail. Excellent video, nice job.
Thank you, you saved me time and $!!
that was a cool fix. i'm done a bunch over the years.
perfect - a few good tips - thanks

So the manual switch should still work. Sounds like a pump issue to me. Was it getting louder? If so, the bearings are likely the issue
