rain world desert bus should actually just be twice as long and riding raindeer
Although I think they are cool, here is a list of things I have seen Rain Deer do:
-Not spawn
-Not come after throwing an egg
-Come after an egg throw but not sit down and just leave
-Eating the egg and then just leaving
-Sit down the wrong way so you cannot jump on top of it
-Sit down on top of you
-Sit down next to a hole so you cannot jump on top of it
-Sit down in the worm grass so you cannot jump on top of it
-Not standing up after you get on top
-Not walking at all
-Sitting still for 3 minutes, then when you start to wiggle and fall off, immediately sprint away
-Walking the wrong direction
-2 Rain Deer react to the egg, they sit on top of each other for the entire cycle
-Try to walk offscreen an failing so you get stuck
-Taking anywhere from 1 minute to 5 minutes when meeting another Rain Deer to figure out who is the most alpha deer
-2 deer engaging in a minutes long 'you go first' battle where they take turns trying to pass each other and fail and give up
-Stopping because it gets scared of a centiwing and refusing to continue for the rest of the cycle
-Moving slow while letting you get eaten by a vulture
-Trip over their own feet and fall
-Honorable mention: carrying you safely as artificer over a group of 10 angry scavengers

The speedrun community has found a way to skip almost every deer ride in the game. The highlights are the ones you can just do a precise extended slide through, pinwarping a squidcada, and soft crashing the game's scripts. All very practical for a casual playthrough.

Everyone hates on the deer so much in Rain World, but for me myself I actually love them so much! It's to the point that I had to turn OFF the "tweaked deer behavior" in remix settings. It's their unpredictability and the weird and wacky AI of the deer that gets me everytime not knowing what they would do or if they will follow and act properly or not. I can see why people don't like them though, losing karma level over something as stupid as that and most of the time not even their fault is frustrating 😅
… I look at raindeers with the mindset that they are kinda like 100+ years old grandma who means well, but constantly forgets what they were doing and has trouble performing the most basic physical tasks. Bless their hearts. >)X^D
truly one of the best parts of rain world: they remind you that the world doesn’t revolve around you
Yes it's cool that you can't control them directly, HOWEVER they are needed to go to the subterranean(cuz it was the only path you could go before downpour came along.)

I genuinely think farm arrays is unplayable without controllable deer. The controllable deer mod changes everything, and it would be so easy to implement into the game too! I hope videocult decides to add this mod as an option in the remix menu for the watcher dlc.
