You know… I kinda want to see saint as a good guy again. Realistically artificer and pebbles would love to ascend. So many recent animations that are focused around the scugs recently have saint as the bad guy.
Saint is moreso a neutral force if you ask me. While ascension is oft worth being sought after, is it really right to force the finality of ascension upon the unsuspecting and unwilling? Does that not trivialize the journey? What meaning in bliss unearned?
@@indecisiveire1746 I’m just saying that there is a lot of evil saint, and I just want more not so evil saint. Not even scavengers get mad when you ascend them, the only things that ever resist ascension are guardians and void worms. And the only thing that saint ever needs to ascend for plot reasons are itorators. I’m sure if you ran from saints ascension he wouldn’t force you into it.
i feel like saint is very much a lawful neutral/true neutral scug. i feel their cycles would have made them callous and unremorseful, and they very likely would indeed have ascended artificers pups, but only because saint believes after so long in their own personal unending cycle that all life also wants the gift of death. i certainly would not think of saint as evil in anything but the dedicated AUs where they are.
I have very mixed feelings about Saint and ascension as a whole. We see people who wanted to ascend but also examples of those who were happy to stay in the cycle like the echo in undergrowth. A large theme of the game is about how all things come to an end even all the things the ancients built like the iterators eventually as we see in Saints campaign will collapse and get covered by dust and snow until it's unrecognizable. Even Moon talks about how a new cycle is unfolding one which we don't need to be a part of, and I know that a lot of media portrays immortality as a curse but is it truly that bad even if you're not alone? On one hand I have accepted and see the beauty in our limited time on this planet but a part of me still hopes that reincarnation exists in some form so that I may see the world from a thousand different angles and so I may see it continuing to blossom.
I definitely agree. Sure, as others have said Saint might be a bit callous at this point, but not to the point of being completely unremorseful or malicious. I see Saint as "cold with a heart of gold", and if he were to come across Artificer, he would probably try to bring her and her pups piece before ascending them. Lawful Good.
Man, Saint is always treated as a monster despite how he is forced to repeat his cycle time and time again for eternity. How much trauma do you think that poor green fluffer has suffered through those repeating cycles.
Well to be fair that's just once you know the story from their perspective. From the outside your first impression would probably not be very kind, seeing they're some kind of otherworldly being with unseen powers wandering the world, killing everything with little to no explanation. If other slugcats met them I'd totally understand if they'd be terrified. Also, not everyone wants to ascend but Saint will pursue them anyway because they made it their eternal struggle to ascend everyone ever
I see Saint as a tragedy from beginning to end. At least the other echoes can understand their situation and even come to terms with it, but Saint? It's just an animal that can never hope to begin to comprehend how it got to this point or exactly what is happening.
I think alot of Rain World maps forget the cycle yet keep it in focus at the same time (like if Arti had been engulfed in the flames she would've just woken up again)
Auhg i have watched this so many times and it pains me that i have to staple together pieces of a story from only 12 incredible videos, i want so much more from this, but all i can do is wait. Its a really great series and the audio choices are perfect, amazing job
Ok, but here's a crack-theory. What if Artificer IS Saint?? We've never seen anything like the trapping of Karma-1 before, nor any thing close to what happens if you ascend as her and evaporate. It would be fitting if, instead of becoming an echo(Because she's a slugcat), she became a being with no memory of her past self, forced to be unable to fight and seek a peaceful way out.
i will say that several times the scar and which limb was missing on artificer was quite inconsistent like for example for a few seconds it could be where the scar was on the star was on the right side of the face and the limb missing was the left side then literally a few seconds later the scar and the missing limb would switch sides

this was a total blast to work on, and my first completed map! everyone was so kind. cant wait for future projects!
Honestly I don't watch alot of MAPs, but I really enjoyed the finished version after watching the spoof!
Good job to everyone who worked on the MAP
I think alot of Rain World maps forget the cycle yet keep it in focus at the same time (like if Arti had been engulfed in the flames she would've just woken up again)
Well, it was just a dream, so she did lol
She lived
@@WawaSluggo The map was incredibly hard to follow (I honestly understood nothing except arti tried to kill survivor or smth)
@@Someperson12532 Honestly, same-

Auhg i have watched this so many times and it pains me that i have to staple together pieces of a story from only 12 incredible videos, i want so much more from this, but all i can do is wait. Its a really great series and the audio choices are perfect, amazing job

It’s real this time right?
would be better as a comic, also ZERO clue what was going on
Почему все изображают Сэйнта злодеем? Вроде бы у него была другая задача.
This is incredible but I’m confused why saint is evil cuz they are a PACIFIST
erm have you played the saint campaign
This is an AU. It's an alternate universe.
cold war reference?
3:41 long live the arti 2.0
@quinbobin
I got something for you to watch so your 10000% more confused worth the story but also break your heart
