    VIDEO INTRODUCTION:
Phonepe and Paytm are 2 of the most formidable players in the fintech industry of India, and in the past 1.5 years, the trajectories of both these companies have been the complete contrast of each other. While Phonepe beat every other company to become a market leader in UPI volumes, paytm has had a terrible run at the stock market!!! and we all know why??
But while most people including myself were looking down at paytm thinking it to be yet another ballooned start up, what i strangely discovered is that paytm has made some extraordinary progress in the past 2 years.
What exactly is this Secret project that Paytm has been working on?
How is this secret project changing the dynamics of the digital payments industry?
How is it helping paytm become profitable?
Think School is a Digital School that we all deserved, but never had

Their payment systems were and still is no where close to being as advanced as theUPI payment system.
There's no complexity to UPI for the consumer firstly.
Secondly, UPI transactions are on average 3 times faster than Ali Pay as well.
Thirdly, UPI payment system isn't grid locked as it is for Chinas payment systems.
Though, yes it's true that Chinas payment systems are though much better than any of the west yet comparing them to UPI is stupid as they are inferior in every aspect.

Hey Think School, Just to mention..In the coming months, as per NPCI orders of the last year, no Third Party Application Providers (TPAPs) will have a market share of more than 30% when it comes to UPI based payment. This is applicable to both PhonePe and GPay but not to Paytm as it is registered as a Payment Bank. I believe this is also something that can prove to be game changer for Paytm and help the firm in gaining a major share of Indian UPI payment where today it has a share of less than 20%.

One additional competitive factor that gives Paytm an edge over other UPI apps is that is has recently launched UPI lite; This enables these frequent small value transactions at merchant shops to be done seamlessly without multiple entries in user's passbook and even without internet requirement - which solves huge problem for rural India.

Vendors are not liking Paytm exploiting and "all" the vendors I usually go switched to phonepe. I had Paytm wallet, now I'm forced to switch to phonepe wallet. Merchants are protesting against Paytm for higher commissions. In next 2 years, I believe phonepe will dominate in the soundbox with merchants.

Normally, we have all types of QR codes and customer chooses one based on his mood. Have never seen shopkeepers preferring one over the other in general unless they issues with attached saving account.
