hello everyone... we only have 1 video left til the end of the klaus saga.... AAAAAAA 😭😭😭 i hope you enjoy this episode and again, i'm so sorry for the slow uploads! 🥹
Riku randomly appearing in that scene with Shulk and Nikol and not saying anything for most of the cutscene is like my favorite bit of unintended comedy.
Rex might have been a bit harsh toward Glimmer but her urge to reach Homecoming probably reminded him of the reason Pyra and Mythra originally wanted to reach Elysium and he was having none of that.
While this was a celebration of all things Xenoblade, I can’t help but feel like Rex was the star of this show. We didn’t get to see him after the story like we could with Shulk in future connected, so seeing him grown up and a full on dad is amazing. He hasn’t changed a bit, he’s still the big hearted kid that’s happiest when he’s making other people smile. What’s more, I absolutely adore his friendship with the other characters. Seeing him get along with his great great grandson Matthew like two peas in a pod, having a mixture of an uncle and mentor relationship with Linka (I like to imagine Zeke and Pandy made him Linka’s godfather), but his friendship with Shulk is just perfect. They’re always ready to listen and help the other, and it’s clear they trust each other with their life. I’m so used to rivalry between characters so it’s nice to just see them give each other advice and talk about their kids. That said, I can’t imagine how scary it must have been for him when he saw Glimmer again. Two of the people he loved were suicidal, and he inadvertently let them suffer. While he helped them and grew to never let that happen again, he’s separated from them and his third wife is forced into hiding as she’s hunted down, and his children are gone. Then he finally meets one of his daughters after god knows how long, and she nearly got herself and his friends killed, AND proclaims that she wants to give up her life. No wonder the poor man is so protective of her. I do like that, even though she doesn’t know it, Glimmer still wants her dad to be proud of her, even if she’s a tsundere about it
heya! oh no i didn't hate her haha she made a wrong move that kinda annoyed me that's all. but her character started to grow on me. i have never disliked any xenoblade character, well except ZETTAR 😂
Ontos was originally supposed to work together with Logos and Pnuema when making decisions. While he was the 'arbiter', or the one who got the final say, he was designed to receive input from the other two so he could make decisions with consideration of morals, logic and emotions. In the Xenoblade 1 universe, Zanza, Meyneth and Shulk served to replace Logos and Pnuema since they were not around. However within Aionios, since Ontos had no Logos or Pnuema to keep him in check, Alpha was born and he started making decisions as a 'heartless machine'. During the clash with N, who wielded the power of Moebius, and Ghondor, with his Ouroboros power, the two powers combined and triggered an explosion that had the effect of separating A from Alpha. A is the conscience that Alvis developed while travelling with Shulk, and which had been suppressed after he was awoken anew as Alpha. Incidentally, A splitting off from Alpha kinda reminds me of how the Noah and Mio we play as in the base game were able to split off from N and M and somehow reintegrate back into the cycle. Even though that should have been impossible after they reached homecoming and became Moebius. I don't know if there's actually any meaningful connection there, I just thought it was an interesting observation.
When I played this DLC, I was streaming XC1 for a friend at the same time... in the space of 12 hours I found the same Igna fortress in XC1 and this DLC, died in both, and I recognised so much more of Colony 9 cuz I was there a week or two before seeing it in the DLC. Even the first quests you get are references... I love this DLC
Nice catch on "And arrived" from Rex, I missed that. I was too taken by all the other references he makes... "I'm done", "go on, praise us some more"... half his lines in this DLC feel like they're from the XC2 script, I love it
Okay, okay, but in Gimmer's defence, she had her whole world turned upside-down in an instant. Her whole life she's been taught that making it to homecoming is the greatest honor someone could strive for, and she's been taught that the people of the city were their enemies. It's the only life she's ever known so you can't really expect her to accept such a drastic change easily. Remember that Lanz had similar feelings at the beginning of the base game, even after his Colony 9 friends turned against him. I'm sure Glimmer will come around too eventually, let's just give her time.
9:50 I like to think that Shulk removed a little piece just to make Nikol fix it, to interact a bit more. Of course he had to speak with Riku first and convince him somehow, Riku doesn't want to get discredited so easily
I just noticed that, but i LOVE it. Here it goes @28:48 "And when I say "super", I mean ultra-mega-ancient" referring not only to tantal and its ancient history, but also to the ULTRA MEGA LIGHTNING FUUUUUUUURY SMASH from the One and Only ZEEEEEEEEKENATOR :D
@@skyeiferyes! the Lumos Pillars are in XB2, they're the ruin looking structures built on around the rock pillars running up from the ground of the tantal fields (that's what i call them bc i can't remember what the specific name of the area is), you usually go to them when u have to do the quest to get the omega fetter from the head of the tantal titan
- Rex isn't being strict just because Glimmer foolishly attracted W to the Liberators' camp. After meeting so many people who had death-wishes - not just Pyra and Mythra - he's not about to see a youth go down a similar path, let alone one of his own kids. - A reminder, the statues for House Reid and House Cassini are based on their Founders' mentors. Those would be Panacea and Linka, respectively. - That's right, Yesterdale is full of classic Colony 9 area music - even the normal battle music. - That large-scale battle at the Great Sword that Nikol mentioned? Likely the source of all those husks piled at its base. - One could say that A is the ghost/soul of Alvis as he was in XC1, and Alpha is his zombified corpse, devoid of his experiences. Or, I guess in technical terms, Alpha is a factory reset version, while A is a backup drive. - "Snafu" is short for "situation normal: all fouled up". A chaotic mess, basically. - Look, Matthew's not the sharpest blade in the chronicles. - If we're talking similar perspective...maybe Amalthus? He too saw his world as unsalvagable after running into one despicable person too many.
Legit i don't think i can watch this. I'm not asking you to like her but can you not talk about her like she's the scum of the earth ? Please. Poor girl is 19, lost all her friends, got thrust into a whole new situation when all she wanted was to end her life peacefully. You cannot blame her for being reticent ! I'd be having mad anxiety ! And I'm not a soldier who just got their hormonones unlocked thanks to suddenly becoming ouroboros. Just because Nikol is able to cope better and be more adaptable doesn't mean she's an inherently worse being.
@@skyeifer Calling her "bitch" every time she's just there, talking about beating her up, suggesting other characters don't ask for her opinion or consent... That's not treating anyone with respect ! Honestly I won't lie, I'm a little disappointed in your lack of empathy towards her ! Not in a "i like this character and you should like her too" way, but just in a narrative sense. Everyone copes differently.
@@corruptedteka oh yeah, sorry if you're disappointed! all i gotta say is that her character started to grow on me towards the end though hehe. in my defense, it's not that i lack of empathy towards her. it just took me more time than others to piece all of my thoughts towards her character and reasoning 😁
