A lot of you are saying they’re building footers for a spike but I think they’re just doing those footers farther back to have a longer launch (since it won’t be hydraulic anymore). As for the repaint that was just on me I didn’t see that
it’s gonna be a spike tho cause if they are moving the launch backwards they would also have to move the station too
What launch footer is in the shape of a triangle tho?
The station structure hasn’t been touched. Also, the footers are directly in the center of Iron Dragon’s ending. So moving the station there just wouldn’t work.

It's a spike it can be nothing else. Look at Speed the Rides former spike and you will see the footers placed line up perfect for that kind of support structure

They are absolutely still going to repaint it. They would probably do it once all the new track is in place. I'm guessing it will be similar to the paint job on Xcelerator.

It feels like this video was made a long time ago. He said the accident happened last year when it happened 2 years ago. We’re definitely getting a spike the footers behind the ride pretty much prove that.

The reason we think it's getting a spike is not because it would make the ride flashier, but because LSM's might not be able to get the train up to the proper speed with the length of the current launch track, a swing launch will help with that, a similar situation to Sky Rocket II's.
Make It Go. Whatever it really is, that is #1, without using a hydraulic launch $ystem. That and some kind of seperation of identity.

Based on the sentence "A new Formula for Thrills", I could very well imagine that they're doing a retheme from a Dragster Race to one of the Formula Series. If they're swapping the launch to LSM, rebranding to Formula E seems like a way to deliver on that sentence without chaning anything about the ride itself.
Or electric drag racing. But there is so much we don't know for sure.
1. A spike is more or less confiemed due to the footers behind the station. They arent for a new station because they are way too big for a low stress section of track. Also they are in the exact same layout that they would be for a spike (see pictures of Speed the Ride spike)
2. They are repainting it
3. Sadly it's definitely Zamperla, the track on site camp in containers marked Zamperla

1) They are repainting it. It’s either primer or the finished product- white track, gray supports
2) There’s a conspicuously spike shaped footer behind the launch they closed Iron Dragon to install
3) Permits were filed for an extended station, likely to accommodate a swing launch
4) Zamperla parts have been shipped to cedar point and posted to their social medias
I understand the point you’re making but it’s a little uninformed.
You said that they would've started painting it, but they are already currently painting it, grey supports and white track, also footers for a spike are right behind the launch track. The point you made about the lapbars is also not true because just one look at the lightning train and the lapbars are very similar to new-gen intamin lap bars. Just watch some of the lake erie lifestyles dragster updates and you will see all of this

I was at cedar point just the other day. There isa big gap inside of the gate. I saw a huge hole as if they could put the spike in it. There was a lot of construction and all of the red track was being painted over with white with a paint roller. So one of the 2 colors on the ride will be white or it will all be white. There is also the track from the break, to the launch is all cut off, no more hydrolic. That's what I saw 2 days ago

When you said that I had to check the upload date like I need to know what you garner about the footers lined up perfectly behind dragsters track. I think a spike is all but confirmed.. or something going up.
But despite my hopes, I agree with you that the brake run isnt going to do an air hill... But hopefully they at least pull a red force and make the final brake run a better angle of descent
Zamperla track was spotted at the site, there was also fitter spotted behind the launch by iron dragon. I would love too see what they do nonetheless.

Lake Erie lifestyles got his drone in. Boxes were titled zamperla and had an address of zamperlas North American headquarters. So it is zamperla track

Agree about Vekoma and intamin but I absolutely don’t wish S&S was doing it. S&S would screw up the ride even further than it already was reliability wise lol

Now, I will be happy to be wrong, but I doubt I will be. Guess it's a good thing I could usually just skip dragster when I was there anyways. I was hoping for an improvement, since CP is my home park. Looks like I'll still be walking past it more than not.
@@Spike-sk7ql as someone who is a ride op who has worked zamperla rides before, I still have some faith in the project.
Zamperla kind of makes sense because of their safety track record, opposed to intamin which has NUMEROUS cases of severely injuring people. Zamperla also has their own track producing facilities now, as opposed to them originally contracting that out. With this new information in mind it gives me hope the ride experience could be similar to the Lagoon manufactured coasters, which are in a similar boat, and those are some of the smoothest steel coasters I’ve ever been on without question.
The zamperla trains also look fine too and it seems like it’s getting a slight layout extension, so it likely will be a fairly different ride experience. Cedar fair seems to have a somewhat good relationship with Zamperla so it makes a lot of sense for them to work with them.
It without question is going to be a maintenance nightmare though, I highly doubt it will be nearly as bad as intamin reliability, but it’s still going to be pretty unreliable. But who knows, I think it is extremely unsafe to judge the project since we haven’t seen Zamperla do one of these yet, and for all we know it could turn out amazing, but it is a little scary nonetheless. I will say though, Zamperla is still an objectively better choice than S&S
Also even if the ride experience is worse stop complaining the original ride almost KILLED someone. I’m honestly glad it’s being retired

The flag plate in question is not disk shaped. It was rectangular with a bend. Also, it dislodged at the top of the top hat. Therefore, the car was barely moving, not moving 120mph. The ride is 100% getting an edition. They have already poured huge footers. Lastly, the new lightning trains will be 100% be an improvement

fam zamperla has the most freeing trains in the industry now with the multiple lightning trains (2 and 4 per row), they will be very freeing, and i doubt they would develop a new train type to be less freeing for dragster.
I wonder if they could do 4 across seating on this...that would help a lot with capacity
@Coastoons hey man, i live near Cedar point OH and I watched the video to get over fears of roller coasters from around a year ago and in the video it said that Maverick was one of the most intense rides that you've rode and I've rode maverick, rougarou, and Gemini but I'm still scared to ride the other rides and ion what to do about it. And I would ride any one of those rides with no hesitation but I wouldn't with anything else. Is there any other ways that can help?
Maverick is intense. That was a pretty big step up from someone who is afraid of coasters. I would watch Ryan the Ride Mechanic. He was a ride mechanic and worked on rides. He says they're extremely safe and he's willing to take his kids on them. Roller Coasters that "break down" normally don't "break down" they are too safe in a sense and have many ways of stopping a ride for safety measures. You'll have to watch his videos to see what I mean. Look up Block zones as well. The easiest way to get over your fear of roller coasters is going on them. To this day, I still get anxious when I go on King da Ka or Dragster. However, I love both rides and always feel better about myself when I get off them. There are also other How to get over fear of roller coaster videos on RUclips as well. I got over my fear of them by just going on them though. I still get a little bit anxious when going on a new ride. However, I come to find that's my favorite part is the anxious anticipation.
Also, try going to Waldameer it's somewhat near Cedar Point and they have smaller scale roller coasters that can help you get your feet wet. Blue Streak, Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Iron Dragon at CP are both pretty tame rides as well.
I literally work at the caricature stand right next to the ascending side of the tophat. I constantly see people up there either power washing it (even get sprayed by the mist sometimes) or painting parts of it white with rollers. Everyone stops in front of the stand just to watch it. Needless to say, we're definitely getting a repaint lmao

Ok bro, I do overall like your videos and your style and everything but it really seems like you've made this video with your eyes closed...
#1. It's almost definitely getting a spike... the footers we've seen being built behind the former station area really don't make sense for anything else.
#2. Zamperla is practically confirmed at this point because the track and supports we've seen arrive match their style as well as packages arriving that literally say Zamperla on them. At this point it's not just speculation like you say.
#3. Leading theory on the trains is Zamperla's Lightning trains. Which look to be even more open than Dragster's old trains, not less open like you say.
#4. We are seeing them repaint it right now... Looks like we're getting a dark gray structure with white track.

I went to cedar point a few days ago with my family, and I actually saw them painting the support beams black.

He definitely made this sometime in May, otherwise the Wild Mouse POV wouldn’t be part of the video. By this time, the footers under Iron Dragon were already well known to have existed. I’m hoping he’s just trolling us or trolling himself. If that’s not the case, this this is just bad content.
I think Zamperla specifically mentions onboard audio as a feature for their Lightning Trains, would be cool if Cedar Point went with this, I believe it would be first in the park

In defense of your prediction, what they did was probably the closest thing they could to "nothing" while using LSMs. It's likely that LSMs couldn't get the train fast enough to get over the top hat without extending the track. A vertical spike is probably the only way to extend it without taking more land.
Never got to ride it but hopefully in the future I might be able to ride the new version, whatever it might be.
Hey coastoons… a word of advice, if you’re staying at cedar point for more the 3 days, it’s cheaper to get the season pass than a ticket every day.

My guess for the re-theme is Formula 1 racing. This would explain why the announcement video Cedar Point made said "A new formula for thrills" and would still keep the racing aspect
