you mean the PCM can display waze or just the voice? Either way thanks. This has been most informative. I was thinking about whether I could change my PCM unit to the 997.2 bluetooth connectivity! Still thinking about how I can play USB songs ..

I had the same Ugreen FM Transmitter and another Roidmi 3S FM Transmitter. I can say that the quality of the Ugreen is so far off comparing it with the Roidmi 3S in terms of frequency interference (near zero) and sound quality, however the Roidmi FM Transmitter only has max 5V/2.4A charging rate and lacking a display for battery voltage instead it is shown in the app.
@@ThePorscheLover Tidal on CarPlay is awesome especially with a touchscreen. I have that retrofit on my Bimmer F30 and the rest of the car is bone stock 37k KM, almost virgin 8 yr old car. To me it is the single most useful mod. As long you can listen to Tidal and while getting lost use Waze in a 911, that’s worth it. The Rennline phone mount is also a genius piece of kit I have in the 911.
In the 987 manual, it says "The lighter receptacle is not to be used for electrical accessories (except for the tire filling compressor)." Not sure why, or would it do any harm with the FM transmitter in the lighter receptacle. Also "The sockets and thus the connected electrical accessories will function even if the ignition is switched off or the ignition key is withdrawn." In another words, you may need to unplug otherwise it keeps on draining the battery
Yup, for some weird reason Porsche chose to not cut off power to the socket (if you know why, please do share!) But that applies for all sort of USB stuff that you plug in irregardless whether it's a charger/ FM transmitter etc. If you dont use the car on regular basis, then it is always advisable to remove it to avoid current leak 👍🏼
I had the usb/phone-jack to lighting m for my iPhone X Max but now have the iPhone 15. I thought I just needed a lightning to USB-C converter, but that’s not working. No music is playing. Is there another solution for this?
Im assuming its a 987.1 Unfortunately the only solution we can recommend is to replace it with an aftermarket Android headunit that supports Apple Carplay & that will resolve your connectivity issues
Bugger. I bought a unit off Lazada and the neck was too short. I couldnt get the unit to sit flush into the cigarette light unit (987.1) so anyone looking to buy this please make sure that it's tall enough so that the unit sits snugly into the cigarette lighter with sufficient clearance. Now I have to go look for an extension somewhere...
