- I upgrade the Stereo in my Porsche 911 997 PCM 2.1 to be real blue tooth enabled. The Rennkit Fiber connected blue tooth kit that I installed in my Porsche has amazing clear sound and retains all the features of the PCM 2.1. My Porsche has the Sport Chrono Plus package so I did not want to change out the PCM unit since it's intergrated with the cars other system like the special navi and auto locks daytime running light, preset climate controls upon startup and automatic wiper options.
The kit was super easy to install worked perfect on the first try and I am happy to approve the product.

this system has been installed the car for a while now and the system still works perfect. Answer and make call directly through the Factory stereo via Bluetooth, Stream music via bluetooth from phone in the PCM system and control volume and next song or back works, option change to USB or SD car reader for playing digital music files. while I tested the feature but USB option playing MP3 music worked as needed but, did maintain folder structure and did not group the music in a way I would like, it just builds it own list and plays all the music, but it did work as needed, I just prefer flexible music choices from phone currently

Need to thank you for this. Literally the only video I could find with a clear view of the back of the PCM 2.1 and where to plug these fiberoptic cables.

incredible! all you have to do is dangle the fiber optic cable to the passenger floor and everything starts working! easiest upgrade ever!

I used a small torx bit kit, not remembering which numbers but i have small kit that is 1/4 drive ratchet a screwdriver set and small or narrow pair of pliers to get the stereo lock screw undone.
It looks like you didn't have to put a loop FB, I'm assuming you don't have a CDC. Did you have the PMC 2.1 programmed or did it work when you put the BT device on?
My car did not come equipped for a CD changer , correct no loop install. I did not need to program anything it just worked.
Any phone will BT pair to it.
@@matthewhale4500 thanks for the info!! I was hoping I didn't have to get the PCM programmed. Another option is the PCCM which is a lil more pricey.

What do you tap in to for power?
the adapter on the passanger side, center console.

Can you use it for Navigation/Waze etc? Or does it just play music through the car system?
it plays all audio via blue tooth, so if I have navi open on my phone it will audio play the turns even if playing music, but it won''t put the image from the phone on the screen on the stereo, I know this as my navigation system is not up to date and does not know alot of the street near where I live. but after using it for several months it is an awesome investment in to the car audio for a Porsche 997, so you can retain the factory Audio and expand your music choices and improve audio quality.

did you have a cd changer that was disabled or bypassed?
no cd changer in my car, if you have one it will have to be terminated and bypassed, the kit comes with a plug and a loop.
I have a 997.1 with Bose system but doesn't have CD changer or navigation installed. Will this work with the Bose?
Yes it works with the Bose and will make you very happy
