I recently purchased an XF10 that was converted to IR. It's a fantastic piece of kit. I carry both the XF10 and my X100 with me in a climber's chalk bag. Best of both worlds for me. And it's got a leaf shutter like the X100! I plan to do some dance IR shooting using strobes. How fun.
@@KwameJohnson If you google my name my pro site comes up. Just leave off the numbers here. I just used my X100VI in a production shoot and it worked so well. I normally shoot with two 1DXs, but only took one this time. Amazing what that little camera can do. I used the OG X100 in a publicity shoot years ago and the client used the image for their 18x80 FOOT banner for the side of their building. I had hoped to do the IR dance shoot in May but will need to move it to June due to my schedule. I'm on IG under my name. But I have it locked down, so unless I approve you, you cannot see my stuff. I'm not a social media person. I do have videos here that I made for a class for pro shooters I was asked to teach.
Loved the video. I find the 18mm on APS-C quite challenging to compose for as it's pretty wide, but many of your shots are really elegantly composed. Beautiful stuff! Thanks for sharing the video and those photos. I really appreciated your perspective. My EDC is actually an X-Pro3 believe (Fuji have some great primes). My fav lens is the 35mm f2, I just love that field of view. However, while it's quite compact, it's not the smallest setup and moreover I find myself switching between that and the 18mm f2. So I've been thinking about having an that XF10 as my 18mm option. Either because I want to have a *really* small camera, or because I want 18mm lens in addition to the X-Pro3/35mm combo I'm carrying (I hate changing lenses in the field). I can't quite afford new camera right now, but I have some stuff I'm going to sell that might be able to fund it.
I own the XF10, my biggest problem is the corner sharpness when I want to shoot a landscape, but, I guess its fine. Who cares about corner sharpness if the image is already boring to begin with? 😂 The raw files are amazing, at least in Raw Therapee. I love the snapshot mode, simplifies and makes you focus on the actual image instead of focusing, but I wish it had three settings, or that you could have the choice to set your own hyperfocal distance. But I guess, for half the price of the Ricoh GR you cannot have everything.
I used to have X100V and ended up switching it to GR IIIx, lack of IBIS was too much for me. I do plenty of photography during late evening/night and while image quality at high ISOs was great it sometimes made editing the RAWs a bit difficult. I do miss those JPEGs though. When A6600-video is coming? I’m looking forward to hear what you think about it.
I agree lack of IBIS in low light can definitely help, hence why I still use the GR IIIx 😀. My A6600 order was pushed back by a few months so I canceled. I also was really looking forward to using it.
That was a wonderful video presentation. I absolutely love that camera👍🏾
Thank you 🤙🏾

Love&hate. The AF system sometimes makes me want to slam it to the ground.

I love this camera! I shoot raw with it and can't believe the quality from such a small package.
I bring it with me everyday.
Great review. Accidentally watched it twice👀😬
😂 Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Do you have one?

I had the XF10 for a couple years. It could have been great. It does take great photos but its crazy quirky. I bought an X100 and a gr3x
Thanks for sharing. I also have the gr3x, such a great little camera.
@@KwameJohnson the gr3x is great. I really liked the xf10 but i dont like 28mm
This was great video! Thank you for the tip, Kwame!

The lack of a viewfinder is a killer
Hey Kwayne, thanks for that very interesting video. You made me discover a cute little Fuji camera, and I'm now tracking a black model on e-bay...
Nice. I hope you get it.
