Preach it brother :). We all like to pretend it doesn’t matter but aesthetics do matter. Enjoying the look/feel of my gear makes me want to get out and shoot.
Call me crazy, but the camera i miss the most it's a shitty Sony point and shoot, no manual controls, only JPEG, but the smallest, lightest and chepaest camera i have owned. I thought "my smartphone can do the same and more, just give away the shitty camera". Well, it's not the same, that shitty camera was way cheaper than my smartphone, the zoom was great for the size (25-250mm equivalent), the size overall is smaller than a credit card and thinner than most small point and shoot. And even if i wanted to edit, Lightroom can extract a lot of info from JPEGs. The camera was the Sony WX-100 or something like that
I bought a Canon Elph 360 in March. I have to carry a work phone and don't take personal pics with it. I'm not going to buy a Ricoh GR3 for an everyday walking around camera. It's too big, too expensive and doesn't have a flash. Lightroom will make up for 90% of deficiencies of shooting jpeg in auto. Save that money, special gear and expertise for when you actually need it, not just catching pics as you go about life. And it's less likely to cause me to get robbed. And if I find something amazing or a great place to shoot, I can probably come back with my better gear another day.
🔥🙏I respect your decision, but imho the 120MP, 24 stops of IBIS, Flog3, 8000 hours of battery life and medium format sensor just doesn't justify the 28g weight increase for something that is supposed to fit my pocket. Plus, it will take Squarehood a few weeks to make a hood that makes it look like I'm shooting with a Summicron, and there's no way I'd be caught IRL without one. Hard Pass for me since the GRIV will be out any minute now anyway.

When Nikon discontinued the A series (and the price was cut in half), I purchased two. A black one with an EVF and a silver one. They are my street shooters. 28mm rocks. I have taken those cameras everywhere as my walkaround poor man’s Leica Q. I shoot RAW and JPG simultaneously. The results are amazing. I also use the lens hood to add filters. Fantastic!
My favorite compact cameras of all time: Ricoh GR - great one handed control with APS-C sensor Fuji X70 - great Fuji manual controls and APS-C Fuji X30 - small sensor all in one 28-112 f2-2.8 with great handling
Something I learned about my CoolPix A is to learn to visualize. Photos come out way better than they look on the LCD screen. A lot of people do not realize that you can load custom profiles onto your Nikon which is great if you are a JPEG shooter. I shoot RAW and there is RAW processing software beyond LR that can give you amazing results. As for the look and feel of your camera, some YT photographer said that having a camera that inspires you to pickup ans shoot is very important.
@@gregrosenke3376 I sent my camera in last year to have the sensor cleaned and apparently fungus removed. It cost about the price of a used CoolPix A but at least the sensor is clean, plus sentimental value.
I use Panasonic GX9 - small, portable, heavy enough to not feel like a toy, light enough to not be a burden. Stabilisation, acceptable evf, Image quality perfectly fine for me. With Panasonic Leica 15mm f1.7 lens it looks like baby Leica, cool af.
For me, I agree, it's got to be about the enjoyment. You have to like using it, you have to like carrying it, and you have to like showing it off. Mine is an o-g Olympus E-M5 with a 17mm f/1.8. Do I have "better" cameras? I do. Do I enjoy them more? I do not.
Totally agree with you. I’ve had some ‘great’ camera from Fuji to Leica, at the end I sold them all and now I have a tiny RX100m3. I myself enjoy & took way more photos with the rx100 than those cameras. I love using evf and want a very light camera. That made me purchase the rx100 not the GR. The pop-up evf is clear, bright, most importantly I can hide it IN the camera, not take it off and let it get scratched in my pocket/bag. Great video!
I can`t believe you now prefer the mediocre quality of a RX100 if you had those cameras. I would quit all together, because i would rather use my phone.

I use my Fuji X100v for walk around a lot but lately I have an XS-10 with the XC 15-45 lens that is really nice. That lens is Fuji's cheapest but it is a sharp performer and small and lightweight.
I have had a Ricoh GR3 for ages and since picking up a Canon G7x mark2, the Ricoh hasn't left the house, it's a shame because it's a great camera, but having the zoom option makes all the difference for me
Ok for now I use rx100 and dxo one. If you are a casual shooter my advice take the best compact camera and spend time with it. But the moment you go semi pro or even pro go for a interchangeable camera.
Really liked this! After trying all the small cameras, I’ve ended up just using my “real” camera as my everyday camera: M10-R with a 28 Cron on the camera and a 50 Lux in a pocket or bag. It’s all about finding what you enjoy having on you every day, I think. I just take the camera with me and enjoy using my favorite camera and lens setup.
The Nikon 1 series of cameras are underrated. Yeah it’s discontinued but for me the amount of power from this little cx sensor is pretty amazing. Throw the 18mm lens or even the kit 10-30 or 30-110mm and you have some insane reach due to the crop factor. I currently have a v1 and even the video out it is pretty darn good.
recently purchased the perfect camera for me; a digital camera with shutter speed & aperture dials which also has a viewfinder. feels good to have a device that reminds me of why i fell in love with photography in the first place (35mm film).
My goto compact camera is my Nikon 1 J5 good travel camera and my everyday all rounder is a Kodak PixPro WPZ2 waterproof camera, ideal on the boat or in the rain
My favorite every day carry may not make sense but I love it anyways, Canon 1D Mkii + 35 1.4 mki I don’t mind the bulk, the shutter noise is beautiful, and the build is insane
I have been an EVF user since ‘72. Yes I need it WYSWYG plus … I wear glasses and just had cataract surgery but having said that I do have a Sony RX100 M7 and can still make good use of the viewfinder. It is small but with the diopter I can wear my glasses. I can live with the telephoto range and for lightweight travel, street and landscape really like it. With the programmable modes it allows me to program 6 custom modes and keep my presets handy when required. NICE POST ! I do have a Fuji XS20 and XH2. I do like carrying the Rx100 and XS20 with a wrist strap but a strap works well too. I never sold my 1972 Nikon EL and 50 micro nikor lens….and it does not work. It’s just this emotional thing.
I own a Lumix LX7 (white) and i liked it so much. The photos were so breathtaking although it's only 10.1 megapixel. When i put it on my neck many people staring cause it's gorgeous they say. Im very proud & this month im gonna buy a Nikon Coolpix A full silver colour from a camera store, NEW & LAST unit in my Country. I think im a lucky person to have 2 compact manual point & shot cameras for my everyday photography. It really suits my needs, for me the Best camera is it's compact, cute, takes a nice photos, & easy to bring along with me anywhere when the moment comes. Greetings from Malaysia.
I recently got a Samsung NX1000 with the 20-50 kit lens. And I love it. Wide enough for streets and landscape as well as zoom with good aperture for close ups and portraits. The best thing it was cheap and almost no used.
I dived into photography start of last year and straight away bought myself a few cameras a Nikon p610 for a bridge, a canon 1300d for a DSLR and an Olympus tg-6 for a point and shoot ,(which I actually owned for 3 years or so) after learning a lot, watching a lot of videos and shooting a lot I own different cameras all together now and sold the others. My DSLR is a canon 1D which on first glance looks like a downgrade from the 1300d but photographers will know that it's a massive upgrade in disguise. For my bridge cameras I use a Sony rx10 mark 3 and a Lumix fz1000, I wanted these because of the Zeiss lens and the Leica lens but also because I got really good deals on them and they are the cameras that can keep up with today's 'standards' my point and shoot is a Nikon p7100 now which again looks like a downgrade from the tg-6 but it's so much better. So many people blab on to me about pixel density and all these modern features but photography for me is about capturing moments and has become a lot more private. As an amateur capturing a photo on the canon 1D is a huge experience, finding that every tiny thing is manual and fiddling around until you have a picture that has good exposure and no noise is a huge learning experience, there's no hand holding, I'm finding it's the best way to learn the bare bones of photography. So as for the every day carry, the Nikon Coolpix p7100 is just a really gorgeous camera that's on the cheaper end of the market ATM, it's probably half the price of the Coolpix a dx, it's not as compact though and the aesthetic is a lot different, but still pleasing. To me my favourite of all my cameras is the p7100, I love everything from the look that the ccd sensor seems to give images, it's 10mp so plenty of resolution really, it's slowed me down with my photography also being old tech it can be a bit slow at times which means I really think about what I'm about to photography rather than just blatantly shooting any and everything. The images it produces are extremely beautiful and I keep 99% of those images private and stored on my computer. I also love sending the pictures off to be printed on quality film paper and storing them in an album also. There's something different about using a camera over the phone from the obvious points like image quality, I don't care how many mp someone's phone is my 10mp p7100 will always do it better in my eyes just because of sensor size alone. But yeah, aesthetics are very important, it's about leading an analogue life. We seem to use our phones for everything these days, but you don't sh!t where you eat..
I don`t get it. You now shoot manual wit a 4Mp Canon 1d, the very first DSLR and you also have a rx10 3. How can you ever even make a choice that you don`t regret. I mean the 1d is a museum piece. Nice to have but not useable anymore.
wish I had seen that video three years ago, it would have saved me the trouble of figuring out each one of those things the hard way (read: buy, resell, rinse, repeat). Now the good news is that what I landed with now check all the boxes you laid out. But three years! 5 cameras before this one! But as usual you are correct and the key, as often, is: don't believe the hype, get what works for you- including looks. Most of us are vain, and that's ok. For the record, what ended up working *for me*: a Fuji X-T30 with that 27mm pancake in a Bellroy Venture Ready Sling 2.5L.
Current everyday is a Nikon Z30….Light, fits in a bag, cheap so I don’t sweat carrying it around, feels great in hand, stellar images, what’s not to like? No viewfinder, I don’t care, it’s a point and shoot :-)
Originally i wanted a ricoh gr3 but them prices sky rocketed, so I ended up with a Fujifilm XF10, super happy with it, gives me great photos and I never looked back
I have a silver Fuji X20. Fast variable aperture lens, fast AF, nice color and b/w simulations, not too big and looks cool. Take it everywhere when I'm not traveling or going on shooting assignments. Fun little beast that takws great pix!
A long time ago (film era) we had oodles of choice in different budgets for suitable EDC cameras. My personal favourites were Yashica T5 (I loved the built in WLF), the awesomely pocketable Minox folding 35mm cameras, moving up to a different size the Olympus 35RC (there were many other brands also producing the small rangefinders, which are also very cool) and once we get to SLR proportions an ME Super with a 40mm pancake. I still own the last 3, but stupidly I sold the first. Boy do I regret it. Then came the digital age and initially there was a plethora of choice of truly small cameras, all with zoom lenses. My wife and I used to fight over who got to carry our Sony WSC something with its 28 to 135mm zoom range. It even had a tiny OVF for when one could n't see the screen properly. It survived many years and was very reliable until it eventually succumbed to dust on the sensor, which being small showed up very clearly as a large ugly blob. With the decline of the camera market though, new options are very limited and when shooting digital I typically carry an X-T10 with TTartisans 27mm or 35mm lens attached. The X-Too cameras look so cool IMO, handle so well and in this configuration are still nice, light and compact. Nowadays I am devoting a lot more time to shooting film again, especially with smaller PAS or rangefinder bodies. I am enjoying having a lot of fun spending very little trying to find the ideal camera to replace that T5 I regretfully sold - there is no way I am splashing out on what they go for now, with their ageing electronics. Recent purchases I have liked being a Ricoh FF-9, Agfa Optima and Konica C35. All are very sweet and very cool in their own way. The last word in coolness though is really my grandfather's Voigtlander Vito IIa, made sometime in the 1950's when he purchased it and still working just fine with only one service carried out in 2012. Small enough to fit into a jeans pocket when folded, a super contrasty 50mm f3.5 Color Skopar lens and a real conversation piece when people see me carrying it. Aah.... I wish someone would make a digital folder
@@DeeRosa I was desperately short of funds at the time and it was either the T5 or ME Super that had to go. At the time it was the right choice, but looking at how the market has played out in the succeeding 25 years, I wish I had kept the T5 instead. It would have been a lot easier (and cheaper) to replace the Pentax.
Twenty years ago my edc camera was a Pentax Optio 550. The best successor to that, in my personal practice, is a Panasonic Lumix LX5 with an EVF glued to the top, which I’ve been using since 2020. I miss the Optio’s OVF, but the LX5 is otherwise superior in every way. (If I’m going out TO take pictures, for a job or a dedicated personal photo session, then I’m definitely using a DSLR. But that’s not the current topic.)
Thinking your camera is cool is the most important thing above all other factors and it's not even close. Idk when we all decided that's something to hide from
Nikon Z7 and 50mm Elcan is portable enough for me (for most situations) Letting it hang on a strap is also the most immediate way to have it ready for capturing. Skin/tape over the logo is the fastest way to up the aesthetic too IMO
Nikon J5, with a 10 mm 2.8 which is a 27 mm equivalent and 18 mm 1.8 lens. Much nicer to have an interchangeable lens camera than a fixed lens camera. Never liked that concept. However, the Nikon A camera was a really really good camera with a larger sensor than the Nikon one series.. For casual shooting I love the Nikon 1 series. Great for taking on holiday shoots as well. Nice and small fits into a fanny pack with three lenses.Regards Gerry
Point 5 is super important, I couldn't imagine taking out a Sony A7C that is small but is designed for 50 year olds or such a clunky Canon camera that looks like it got stuck in 2007 in a casual setting. In the end nobody outside of DSLR forums will see a difference in the sharpness or 1 stop more background blur in the photos you take, I'd argue most people even prefer a whacky vignette or dreamy softness when they casually take photos. I wish Fujifilm would do a 27f2 because I prefer that for everyday over 23 and 35, and possibly they could sacrifice some image quality for an even smaller bodybelow 40mm
I also had the small Nikon A 1000 (I think that was the name), but the image quality is poor at the long end. AF is slow. I liked the Sony RX100 series the best and it was also the smallest. Hopefully Sony will bring an update with the RX100 Mark 8, it would be a no-brainer purchase for me.
@@DeeRosa Amazing, perhaps a little exaggerated, but quite nice in terms of size and functionality. Unbeatable for vacation and to-go in terms of size, dynamic and function.
My dream is a pocketable manual focus camera with a 28mm pancake lens and a focus tab. I know the Q line exists but I’d be fine with a 28mm f2.8 or f4 to reduce the size.
If I want compact I'll use my phone. If I want a SERIOUS portable camera, (which is all the time), I use my loyal companion, a Canon VT Deluxe with a 21mm f4 Voightlander Color Skopar LTM loaded with Ilford FP4.(yellow filter).I carry it in my Domke F803 Ruggedwear camera bag with a 50mm Canon f1.8 LTM lens in case I see something that calls for a standard fast lens. For me it is the perfect set up.📷👍
The downside of the coolness factor is that thieves also look for cool when deciding what to steal. Notice that lately more RUclips photogs are suggesting and implementing hiding their cool cameras by taping up the red dot, or brand name with gaffers tape to make the camera LESS appealing. This also can be an issue if you are bringing a camera to an event or venue, a taped up Sony RX10iv will most likely elicit a meh from security and you'll be able to get that in as opposed to a shiny big lens version that now screams PRO, even though its not.
@@amberhawke theft doesn’t happen as often if you’re aware. If you’re bragging about how much your gear is worth and then post your location and you leave your gear in your car and get robbed that’s on you. I really think you guys don’t live in the real world where you think people are robbing photographers left and right out of nowhere. I recently changed up my EDC (to X-E4 + Voigtländer 27mm f2) and my thought process almost completely aligned to this. In particular: I made this change based on having made mistakes you mention before! I'd add one more thing: think about what compromises you'd be okay with *in general* and dont' assume you'll like the same as others. Case in point: people rave about the leaf shutter of the X100 series, but I absolutely hate them (aside from their silence, which is cool). You can't shoot wide open at 1/4000th? And just in general: my max mechanical shutter speed changes depending on aperture? This made me kinda hate using that camera. It felt so inconsistent. A compromise I realised I totally was okay with was giving up AF. So I got the Voigtänder 27mm (my favorite focal length) with an relative bright f2 aperture that is non-negotiable indoors in Norwegian winters (we tend to keep things dimly lit for some reason). And this lens is even smaller than the Fuji 27! Absolutely loving this combo. Also I like the more kinda stubby proportions it, it's like a chubbier cuter X100V. Thanks for the video as always. Probably one of the very best camera advice videos on RUclips I've ever seen!
Lil update, the bookstore Half Price Books that's featured is located in San Antonio TX BUT that specific location, on Broadway, has just recently been been the victim of gentrification and was forced to close down because of developers
I think that might be my old Coolpix A... sold on ebay for $285 in 2021 when I got my X100V. As always I regret selling it :( . It's biggest flaw was the AF... speed not great, and missed focus often.
Still using my Ricoh GR Digital 2 that I got years and year ago. Yeah, my camera is seriously old, but they're great. I'm one of the original camera hipsters, hah.
i've been toying with m43 for the last couple of months. at first i bought gx80 and 25 1.4 as a place holder since i wanted a proper compact camera like coolpix a or gr, but after trying 15 1.7 i don't want to move on from m43. now i got myself a gm1, and it's almost perfect paired with 15 1.7. the only thing that i don't like about it is lack of auto iso in manual exposure, but i can work with that. also a very minor gripe: i would love to have another fn button to assign touch screen lock so my focus point is locked when shooting from the hip
Micro Four Thirds is a fantastic option and honestly the quality for street is going to be very similar to 35mm film in my opinion. It’s a win all around to me.
Dee Rosa, can you make video where you will compare some compact camera (point and shoot camera) vs flagship smartphone ? Does smartphones take better quality picture than compact camera... Thx
I probably won’t. I don’t use phones because my hands are too large, the controls are horrible and too many chances to miss a shot due to accidental swiping and locking.
Suddenly putting out a couple of texts to accompany what you say, it wouldn't hurt, I don't know the exact name of most of the cameras you mentioned, nor the main Nikon.
When im out with my Nikon Zfc I get all kinds of comments on how cool it is. Also, good luck getting a Ricoh gr anything. The lack of availability blows me away.
I'm rocking the Pen-F for an everyday carry! U bet your ass people want to see it up close and mistake it for a film camera :D I mostly shoot monochrome JPEGs with it too so the pics coming out from it is amazing. I'm using a 20mm F1.7 pancake so it fits in my jacket pocked in the colder months and during summer I use a shoulder strap FjeldReven bag which is classy and sleek here in Scandinavia. It is not the cheapest setup, but still budget friendly, u could also go for a EP-5 or EP-7 from Olympus, both are good option with the same pancake lens.
Love a nice looking camera but I kinda just want something stealthy and not trying to be a theft target when traveling. Fuji x100v is a nice experience but still too big for me and I prefer 45-70mm. A rx100vii or a ricoh might do. I wish fuji would make a new XQ2. As I’m not finding what I’m looking for I‘m afraid to say shooting raw on a pro smartphone and maybe some uprez might just be the best setup for me… but i’d trade that for a great compact camera.

Please, the cameras are not readily available ANYWHERE anymore. I have contacted all the cameras stores in my area, even B&H and no one has any Ricoh or Fulifilm ……. I feel that sometimes RUclipsrs are putting out videos of things that they know doesn’t exist. Even the Canon powershots G7 are discontinued and not available anywhere else. And the waiting lists for this cameras are just getting bigger and longer than ever before. And this has being the case for at least 4 years now……. I feel like if RUclipsrs are making videos of things they know doesn’t exist any longer in the market just for the sake of clicks, views and monetization. Whomever uploads videos reviews of these cameras is like listening to a PhD dissertation of something that doesn’t exist. Pardon me if I come across frustrated , but I am. I didn’t recommend any specific camera. It’s a guide to figure out what kind of camera you want. I said you can shoot a DSLR. Film SLR. Etc. Discontinued cameras aren’t always available. But cameras like the Nikon Z30, Canon Autoboy, Canon P, Sony ZV-1, RX100 line, and more are readily available if it fits you. This Nikon Coolpix A I’m using isn’t the best. But I like the images. But I’ve used many cameras, some rare and some not. It’s more about knowing what you like in a camera and not a specific camera.
@@DeeRosa you are right in saying that your didn’t recommend any camera. ….. I was reacting to the line when you mention Ricoh, Fuji etc and then said “they are somewhat readily available” ……. That was the part that threw me off. I like the part when you said not to purchase a camera with a focal length that you aren’t use to shoot with. That’s a very honest assessment because I am more of a 50 MM + shooter and my choice for the Ricoh would have been that one that has the equivalent 50MM lens. I noticed that you mentioned that the protruding lens of the Sony RX 100 VII could bring in dust into the sensor. I thought this was an issue only with the Ricoh ones. The only thing that is making me hesitating to purchase the Sony RX 100 is the 1 inch sensor. I have full frame and APS-C, they are both outstanding, but the 1 inch, I think is even smaller than the Micro Fourth Third sensor ! Do you think than the 1 inch sensor produces better photos than my new iPhone 13 Pro ?

My EDC. Nikon coopix P310. I love the zoom versatility and f1.8 for low light. No RAW, no VF, no problem for me.
Nice setup for sure.
The Olympus TG cameras became my new EDC. Water and shock proof, 21-105 fov equivalent. Fun in good light and fun flash photos
The XPro 1 made we want to carry a camera again…I now carry the XPro 3, looking forward to the XPro 4
I’m hoping Fujifilm does the X-Pro 4 correctly.
@@DeeRosa I’m hoping they keep the screen as is. Though I guess I’d be okay with an X-T4 style screen as well.
That’s a nice setup.
I bought this when it first came out. Still the best dynamic range is insane.
I do not.
Exactly! I can always do better but can’t put a price on having something I enjoy.
Is the lens you're using the TTArtisan 17mm? I've got the same camera and using the 25mm from TTArtisan but interested in 35mm equivalent
@@louishorsley4477 no, it's the Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm f/1.8 : it's a smaller lens than TTArtisan, though not as bright.
@KirstenBayes ah cool good to know thanks!
I’m interested in running one myself - seems to be a great camera.

Love the XS Line. Just right size with a grip.
I’m still carrying my Panasonic Lumix LX7. I understand every aspect of the camera and it still takes excellent pictures.
I had a canon dslr and I don't use it that often because its too bulky. My favorite camera is my mom's old ricoh r10, it fits perfectly on my pocket
Nice. I did that for a few years also.
Totally agree
The Nikon J3 is my 10 year old son's camera. I paired it with a 10mm/18mm prime lens. He loves the look and it's a comfortable carry for him.
I have both AW1 and V1 with 30 - 110 and 10 - 30 both great cameras fantastic auto focus

recently purchased the perfect camera for me; a digital camera with shutter speed & aperture dials which also has a viewfinder. feels good to have a device that reminds me of why i fell in love with photography in the first place (35mm film).
My goto compact camera is my Nikon 1 J5 good travel camera and my everyday all rounder is a Kodak PixPro WPZ2 waterproof camera, ideal on the boat or in the rain
My favorite every day carry may not make sense but I love it anyways, Canon 1D Mkii + 35 1.4 mki
I don’t mind the bulk, the shutter noise is beautiful, and the build is insane
LOL 😂

Love it! I know exactly what you mean, I love taking a stroll with my X70 with round lenshood. She too cute!
The best!
my man kept it real and encourage people to get them cool-ass looking camera for themselves.
Curious about the image quality. Hear great things about Samsung camera.

Fujifilm X-T1 for me, pair w XF 35mm 1.4r and i'm good.

I sold my perfect EDC camera (Canon G5X MK1) Mainly because i'm an idiot with incurable GAS.

Super interested in that camera after I saw their 24/1.7 release. How is it?
Still got to get a suitable prime for the camera… tbh I use the kit lens because it’s got stabilisation and I’m a recovering perfectionist…
Originally i wanted a ricoh gr3 but them prices sky rocketed, so I ended up with a Fujifilm XF10, super happy with it, gives me great photos and I never looked back
My compact everyday camera is the Nikon D700 with a 50mm 1.8G. 😂 it just depends what you consider portable, and honestly it is not that heavy!
Thank you! I LOVE how certain cameras look. It adds so much fun.
I have a silver Fuji X20. Fast variable aperture lens, fast AF, nice color and b/w simulations, not too big and looks cool. Take it everywhere when I'm not traveling or going on shooting assignments. Fun little beast that takws great pix!
My canon eos M, still using today, APSC + Compact lens = Versatile casual camera.
Woah. Selling that T5 must have been killer 😭
If could put on my pants front pocket, it's a camera to use. In my case Ricoh GR3, Lumix GF2 14mm, Nikon1 j1/j5 10-30. In film Canon Prima 8.

Oh wow, what a gripping gear influencing video. We all needed another one of these.
Thanks man! You’re always supporting me and I appreciate it! Been a day one on here and Instagram.
I really miss my Coolpix A. Sold it in 2017 to buy a X100 and they have held value quite well.
Nikon Z7 and 50mm Elcan is portable enough for me (for most situations)
Letting it hang on a strap is also the most immediate way to have it ready for capturing. Skin/tape over the logo is the fastest way to up the aesthetic too IMO
The golden combo.
Pulling out a Bronica SLR is a power move.
The only move.
I had this camera. Loved it. But... i like 35mm so X100 original is what i kept but i always wondered why Nikon never put out a mark ii of this camera
Wondering the same thing.
Think this is a different model - no zoom on this BUT I hear the RX100 line is amazing!

Man I want the SAME.
I have a Sony A7CII with a 28 mm olympus 3.5 on it.
It`s great, small and light. With fantastic image quality.
If I want compact I'll use my phone. For me it is the perfect set up.📷👍
Good rig.
If you’re bragging about how much your gear is worth and then post your location and you leave your gear in your car and get robbed that’s on you.

the very best daily carry camera is your quality mobile phone. Mine is a Huawei P60 Art, My next one will be the Huawei Pura 70 Mate

I think that might be my old Coolpix A... sold on ebay for $285 in 2021 when I got my X100V. As always I regret selling it :( . It's biggest flaw was the AF... speed not great, and missed focus often.
Honestly I’m having a blast with the focus and haven’t missed much unless it’s too close to the lens. Maybe I’m getting lucky!

Good pickup for sure.
i've been toying with m43 for the last couple of months. at first i bought gx80 and 25 1.4 as a place holder since i wanted a proper compact camera like coolpix a or gr, but after trying 15 1.7 i don't want to move on from m43. now i got myself a gm1, and it's almost perfect paired with 15 1.7. the only thing that i don't like about it is lack of auto iso in manual exposure, but i can work with that. also a very minor gripe: i would love to have another fn button to assign touch screen lock so my focus point is locked when shooting from the hip

Love my Coolpix A, too.
The rant at the end was a great!
For me, I really love having an EVF - except when I am using my iPhone 😂
how do you protect your Coolpix from getting dust inside?! drives me nuts
Flossy Carter is the Man
What about the compact form of many Olympus and Panasonic bodies ?
Love a nice looking camera but I kinda just want something stealthy and not trying to be a theft target when traveling. Fuji x100v is a nice experience but still too big for me and I prefer 45-70mm. A rx100vii or a ricoh might do. I wish fuji would make a new XQ2. As I’m not finding what I’m looking for I‘m afraid to say shooting raw on a pro smartphone and maybe some uprez might just be the best setup for me… but i’d trade that for a great compact camera.

For some. Unfortunately I hate it in all fronts.

Damn straight.
Sony rx100. The best ever
I wanted a Ricoh GR III X and I would have to buy the Sony RX 100 VII because that’s the only one available in one of the stores in my area.
Forgive me for my harshness, my intent is not to disrespect you or your hard work. 😓
@@StrivingMen oh I see. Well I see them available on r/photomarket and fredmiranda a lot exchanging hands but not in stores.
Yeah any lens that goes in and out will usually gather dust over time
If anyone has a recommendation for one that has a 50mm equivalent id appreciate it. I’ve owned a fuji x100v since it came out and love the fuji colors and stuff. Have taken awesome shots with it. But, cannot super gel with the 35mm. For some reason i see the world in 50mm.
If you elect to purchase a camera with an EVF consider whether it has a diopter.
我拿了一些相机出国 可最后我用的最多的还是手机
