After living in Ottawa/Gatineau for 42 years, the wife and I revisited our city this year! adding a flash to the setup by taking some street shot added alot of character to our usual picture. I also found new angle by changing to a 16mm! what you say is so true and I am still rocking my A7 II and I don't feel I need to upgrade at all. ceci dit merci le cousin Français tu donne toujours de bon trucs et on adore regarder tes voyages a travers ta camera
Hi Pierre, i agree 100% there is no boring place for taking photos. And you have shown that in your videos, now we have no excuse to say a place is boring. You have a great eye in photography. Many thanks Pierre for making us feel enthusiastic. Have a great day 😊
Really enjoy your focus right now. Not just the focus of your videos but your personal focus. As a street shooter first, I've found that watching videos or benefiting from books and such is great, but when I'm out shooting, the photo, it's composition and subject have to be first for me or I'll tend to hesitate or over-think and miss shots - like golf. (Old golf adage - the two worst golfers are the ones who listen to everyone and the ones who listen to no one) Thanks for your work. Noticed the neck strap around your wrist. We'll get you converted to a wrist strap yet. 😊
I live in Genova in Italy but there is literally nothing to photograph in the town I may only do wildlife because there are amazing forests and a lot of species of birds especially in the Cinque Terre
I agree with most of these but better gear 100% matters the more you progress. For example: if you start out taking photos at local football games as a hobby with an entry level DSLR like the Canon 4000D and move to a mirrorless camera like the R7 you are 100% going to take better photos with a camera that has good reliable focus tracking, a very fast continuous shooting so you’re less likely to miss shots and even something as simple as better battery life. Also, if gear didn’t matter then companies wouldn't be racing so hard to make improvements and come out with better cameras every year.
Замечу на счёт камеры. Обычно говорят, что не важно какая она, главное уметь пользоваться. Но всё же одна характеристика очень сильно влияет на результат - светочувствительность матрицы. Думаю, с этим ни кто не будет спорить :)
Hi Pierre I have a question I have the Sony a7iii now for over 5 years and i love this camera so much. I'm not a professional photographer, it's just my hobby and i love to take photos.. Do i need to upgrade the camera? For example the Canon eos r6 ii? Is there a huge difference between them? Or just stick with my Sony a7iii to the end?
If you are happy with your a7iii keep it, but if you want a switch consider the lenses you have.. If you have lots of Sony lenses wait for the a7V for example or pick up a used a7IV If you have no lenses then also consider picking up better glass, always remember to put more into glass than a body
I think you should only upgrade if you have identified a weakness in your current gear that is holding you back from making the photos you want to make. Or if you just want a new toy and have enough disposable income. That’s also valid. :P But the main thing is that you should focus on skill and not gear. With better skills comes better understanding of your own needs.
Great advice from other comments I fully agree. Keep it for now. Maybe change lenses? :) don’t switch to canon doesn’t make sense financially nor for performance. ❤️❤️
Whichever one you like to use. People do street photography with very slow and old cameras sometimes and they make nice photos. It’s all about finding a camera that you feel good about and that you like to use. If you have nothing right now and are unsure if you’re actually into street photography, get something cheap. Also I’d recommend looking at some of the photos from others that you like a lot and trying to find out what kind of lens they were shot with. If you are seeing a lot of photos shot with 85mm f1.4 lenses but you buy a kit lens, then you won’t get the same look. Also remember that there are often affordable lenses available in all kinds of focal lengths, so don’t look only for the main brands like Sony and Canon and Fuji.
I do a lot of street photography and im currently using the Sony a7iii and the sigma 85 mm lens! I know these two equipments are hella expensive but any 35 mm or 50 mm will be good for the lens and like what the person above said, at least get a cheap camera for now and get somewhat expensive lens because it's the lens that will determine the quality of the photo more so than the actual body of the camera
You've never been to Mohakatina beach. I shoot all subjects at all focal lengths in all conditions. Mohakatina beach has zero photographic merit, period. I'm willing to accept that this is the only place in the world with this particular 'quality'. That said, the dunes and estuary inland are quite cool. Cheers from NZ.
I generally don't like creative advice that's just "Never do XYZ". It just makes you sound like Squidward hitting Spongebob with the rulebook for arts. It's much better to learn what's conventional. Because that's the way you learn how to deviate from conventions.
Hey perrie I just bought your full pack of presets and i wonder two things. 1 I thinks the presets from (Pierre T. Lambert - Pro Tools - MOBILE) it looks that it doesn’t work in mobile the other ones work perfectly fine but this one it doesn’t change anything and I follow exactly how u said it, and 2: the Astro presets it’s not for mobile? Because I really want to used but I look that u don’t have it into the mobile option, hope u respond me back thank you.

After watching the video I understand why you have many subscribers. You should have a lot more of them.
Hi from Denmark.
Love your videos...
Im just doing it as a hobby... with my older Canon EOS 1100D, canon 18-55mm and canon 75-300mm
Hi Pierre
I have a question
I have the Sony a7iii now for over 5 years and i love this camera so much.
I'm not a professional photographer, it's just my hobby and i love to take photos..
Do i need to upgrade the camera? For example the Canon eos r6 ii? Is there a huge difference between them?
Or just stick with my Sony a7iii to the end?

if you need to ask.. means you dont need to.

what is the best camera/lens for street photography?
Whichever one you like to use. People do street photography with very slow and old cameras sometimes and they make nice photos. there is no best. only what you prefer to use. So just buy/choose the brand you like most and go out.
Hi!
sometimes the better camera body will get you much better photos, talking about sport and more specifically circuit panning shots :)
I generally don't like creative advice that's just "Never do XYZ". It just makes you sound like Squidward hitting Spongebob with the rulebook for arts.
It's much better to learn what's conventional. Because that's the way you learn how to deviate from conventions.
No1 is not photography related but i agree that 2-5 are tips that should only be followed by beginners unless they have the luxury to experiment.
