- October 9th, 1942 | Late last night the Soviet destroyer Karkhov, along with the Black Sea Fleet, shelled enemy positions along the Crimean coastline. In the darkness, German bombers damaged the Karkhov. It is currently under tow by its sister ship, and located 90 miles off the coast of Kuban, on the open Black Sea. I'm leading the Squadron of Yak-7b Ser. 36 fighters sent to cover the destroyers' return to the port of Tuapse
I'm playing Il-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles on PC. This is the Battle of Kuban expansion base game, with the the Kuban Winter Map mod by LuftManu.

The searchlights were creepy cool. This video had a compelling story. Unfortunately it looks like one of the Stukas had Hans-Ulrich Rudel at the wheel. I prefer the Yak7 over the Yak1 it turns much better. I have found those 109G's just never give up and will close in when you least expect it. Thanks again for posting the link to the winter mod I hope to use it soon. 👍18

I have this winter mod and a moscow one that adds the lightly snowy textures to the game, I like them a lot
