Check out the Store: growling-sidewinder.creator-spring.com/ Finally some World War II action for those of you who have so patiently waited sorry it took so long but we're back with the new Battle Of Normandy Expansion for IL-2 Sturkmovik Great Battles Series, hope you guys enjoy the video, and thank you for watching.
Attempt 3! Could you please show us ground strafes with different weapon setups from ground perspective? We all know how A10 Brrrt sounds from the ground and looks on target, some even know that for Viper's 20mm, but I really wonder how a 37 mm, 6 x 50 cal., 23 mm MiG-21 and 30 mm MiG-29 long strafes would look and sound on target! Also, could you please bring out the flying lol machine I-16 against the F-22?
Id love to see a series where he grabs a handful of friends and run a five on five with a full on furball. Doesn’t really matter if it’s WW1, WW2, Korea, or Vietnam.
My father was a WW2 fighter pilot. Although he flew the F4U Corsair in the Pacific, these great videos give me a taste of what he must have experienced in aerial combat. Thanks guys!
@@norcalsrt1214. Thank you for the kind words! He did live an amazing life. He went on the do great things as a fighter pilot in Korea & Vietnam. But by far, his fondest memories were flying the Corsair in the pacific. It’s the aircraft he loved to talk about the most. Hopefully someday Growling Sidewinder will feature the Chance Vought F4U in one of their videos. Cheers.
2:50 they're Me 410 - the successors of the Bf 110. They've got two remote controlled 13mm rear guns instead of the single 7.98mm gun in a 110. You can recognise them by the shape. A 110 is rather boxy, whereas a 410 is much more round and sleek and shares its engines and outer wings with Bf 109 G models.
so the mirage has had some pretty significant flight model changes making it keep its energy better as well as allowing it to have a turn rate to speak of. i was wondering if you could fly out the new mirage and see how it now holds up against a few bandits
That looked like a Me410 they've got two MG131 13mm heavy machine guns in a remote barbet, one each side, sweeping high and low rear quarter, best attack is beam to front quarter either side and direct front high, direct front low can get you a face full of 20mm or bigger depending on subvarient
YES! I love all military aviation, but world war 2 especially fascinates me. I would love to see more World War 2 content. I was actually wondering if you would pick it up again.
IL-2 is simply still the best WW2 combat flight simulator, DCS is great but nothing does WW2 like IL-2. Flight model, damage model and engine management are just so good! I played IL=2 when it first came out 300 years ago (to play it on the Hyperlobby (remember that) or online needed installing it and it's many, many, many, many, many patches in a very specific order (not in "the correct" order) and it still rocks now, no need to apply 10 patches in a mixed up order!
I commented on another video, but would "Differential Thrust" work with twin engine World War II aircraft? P-38, Mosquito and Me-262 come to mind! Thanks for the great flight simulations!
They surely would with the twin props, and it's reported some pilots made use of it. Tho I'm not sure it would be safe at all in the early jets like the Me-262 and the Gloster Meteor. Engines weren't developed thoroughly at the time
Me-262 cannot do it to a degree that would be practical in a dogfight. You have to baby the throttle and there's throttle ranges for stable flight and dogfighting. If you're doing it for an advantage in a dogfight it would be impossible, either you quickly do it and flame out or set your engine on fire, or you do it slowly and safely, in which case the time it takes for you to feel the effect would make it useless.
Yessss! I love world war 2 gameplay! It’s funny how I was watching IL 2 gameplay just yesterday and the day before. Growling you read my mind! All love brotha.
Haha 😂 that was a decent landing in the P51. As a professional flight instructor, aerobatic Pilot and tail dragger pilot I would LOVE to collaborate and give you all the information we use for training pilots onto tail draggers and high performance aerobatic aircraft 🫠
@@GrowlingSidewinder I’m down I got so much information I’ve created for students and of course actually flying them…. I’d love to help if I can, you’re a pretty good pilot from watching your dogfights 🤌 I messaged you on IG a while back otherwise I can email you?
One of the complaints from real pilots I've heard of IL-2 is the planes are really floaty slow with flaps down. It's hard to keep certain planes from bouncing in the sim.
Absolutely love your videos GS!!!! I was a huge fan of simulators as a kid and, dont laugh, Ace Combat, but I just didnt want to pay $3-$4k for a good set up. Been playing war thunder for the WWII planes and experience and your videos have been extremely helpful for offensive and defensive flying. Keep it up my man!!
I’ve been a fan of WWI and WWII planes forever. Loving the modern stuff too, but I prefer to fly the older stuff. As much of the IL-2 Sturmovik content as you like.
"Wait, is that my wheel? I need that!" LOL I laughed so hard! I really love your IL-2 videos, more please! I really loved the SFX you put in as well, the actual game needs those implemented!
Whether it’s warbirds or modern planes. My fav videos of yours are the ones where you just play dcs and do missions or just go out on sortie hunting! I’d love to see something Wild Weasley if that’s even possible. The Korea vid from last week was so sick. I don’t even play dcs, but these videos are really great man. Seems like you’re on the tip of the spear as far as air milsims go. Don’t get me wrong, the 1v1 dog fight videos are great too, but there’s another level of realism in the other style vids. Awesome stuff dude 🫡👍🏻👍🏻
the belly scoop had a fun habit of ripping the back half of the p51 off during belly landings. Grandfather was in the air force stationed in England during WW2.
so glad they fixed .50s, the reason I stopped playing IL-2 GB for like a year was because of how frustrating they were. I was so excited for the lend lease planes being available for Russia only to find out they were all basically useless. Might as well have been shooting .303 with how long you had to sit behind enemies. Especially larger planes. They look much better now. Especially excited for the dynamic damage modelling. It looks stunning on the tanks, I bet the planes will look just as good.
Great stuff! Very enjoyable to watch. IL-2 may not be full fidelity clickable cockpits but it’s a damn fun simulator of WW2 air warfare. Complex engine management is the bees knees.
These beach head patrol missions are nuts. The first one I flew I was cracking up at the sheer amount of AAA coming off the boats. If you are allied you need to stay well away too. I've gotten smoked by our own AAA multiple times now.
Brilliant flying! Ace gameplay. Youve got a new subscriber. I tend to fly bombers more so but the Mustang is one of my favorites. Absolute joy, fast and great response via the controls. I love it when they light up like that..with that "whoompf!" And theyre flaming.
I enjoy watching the Warbirds stuff very much. I bought IL-2 during the Christmas sale but it's never worked. I constantly get a DX12 (might be DX11) error message and system crash every time I load the game.
Man when you slotted in behind them I was screaming RUT ROH, not BF-110s...! Those are ME-410s! Much more dangerous to attack from the rear, they have two MG17 13mm machine guns mounted in remote turrets on the left and right side of the fuselage. Thats why you got lit up like a Christmas tree both of them can fire straight back with good angles. Great way to tell the difference between the two is to look at the tail! ME-410s have a conventional tail design while the BF-110 has a twin tail design! Loved the video GS! More IL-2 plz

DCS uses actual wind tunnel data. Il-2 engine management is based on a timer. Il-2 is nowhere close to the realism of DCS.

Maybe, but I feel like with the less advanced avionics you would really risk getting into a flatspin or something more than a modern jet
