I was not happy with the final look of the original video, so I rerendered the 1080p 30 fps footage in 4k 60 fps. This should mean that YT allows a higher bitrate for the video and that it should look cleaner. Anyone feel like buying me a 4k monitor? :D Original video for comparison: ruclips.net/video/uqf7HpP-bCU/видео.html
Italian parachute torpedoes that drive around in circles. Very handy torpedo armament, but sadly we didn't hit anything with it, although it was really close a few times. That shot of the DD shows two torps missing it by 100m.
Is there really any reason why Luftwaffe aircraft are shot down by MG - wielding Hellcats, but the Hellcats just get holes in their cockpit glasshouses when the former shoot at them?
Well, you know that American fighters are usually armored, right? The front of a Wildcat can withstand 7.92 fire pretty well. No aircraft is .50 cal proof, some heavy bombers can resist a bunch of it, but none of the german twins could. By the way, should probably not misidentify an aircraft, before you engage in a technical discussion about it.
Electric circling torpedoes. Unfortunately they don't really create a torpedo wake and are pretty invisible. Good for a torpedo, bad for their dramatic effect in a video.
Man I remember playing the shit out of1946 modded, it still has cool details like cockpit damage that other sims don't have, so cool I want to reinstall it
That battle was a blast to watch. But i am wondering what were theses bombs with the white parachutes that the Ju88's dropped ? Wake-homing torpedoes or mines ?
Wait a second: why the Ju-87D-3 Stuka's engaging the F4F wildcat? Because the tactic of german pilots was "Drop the bomb, reverse and climb into the clouds" (Oh, sorry for my english, I am from Ukraine)
Climbing back into a cloud, when you just dropped your bombs in the middle of a convoy is a bad idea and pretty much impossible. Staying low makes you a tough target for ship gunners, while climbing in the middle of the ships is suicide. Getting back to cloud level takes multiple minutes. The fighter engaged us immediately after we had gotten out of the convoy, there was no time to get anywhere near any cloud. Relying on the rear gunners is way worse then actively fighting back. It's just logical that you would rather be behind the Hellcat, then in front of it. It can't shoot backwards. I guess you read about that tactic you mentioned somewhere and want to apply is to every situation? The one we were in clearly doesn't fit for it.
Ich bin gespannt wie lange es dauern wird bis 1C einen ähnlichen Umfang an Inhalt bei IL-2 Great Battles erreichen wird. Das kann ja noch Jahre dauern...
I'm impressed that there is a Swastika on the tail of the Stukas, and it wasn't whited out because it might be offensive to someone. I recently began a patrol in career mode for Silent Hunter 3 and while leaving Wilhelmshaven I noticed the Swastika was whited out on the Kriegsmarine flag that was flying from a German destroyer and schnellboote. The powers that be should realize the people that are into these types of games are also well versed in history, military history, some like myself are veterans, and we all have a thick enough skin that we're not offended at the sight of a Swastika! Be historically accurate and leave these games alone!

I think that is the least important part of the story, to be honest. I mean, the stuff that was supposed to be sent is meaningful. The people who were on those ships over rule any other thought anyway. One human life > all the stuff in the world.
I actually have to agree, cause the German first amendmet says so, and I do. "Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar" - human dignity is untouchable. Means, one human life is worth as much as all of them and endlessly much.

Some of your best work. I love seeing Wildcats in The Atlantic.
Oleg Maddox and his team were brilliant!
