Seeing you put Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 gameplay really brings back happy memories of playing it as a child I should replay it again also sorry to hear about all the stuff that happen to you in the past hopefully you will continue to make content because I have been enjoying them a lot.
This is your best review ever. 10/10. It provides a complete history about my favorite fan-made VeggieTales series, a backstory about Media Mementos itself and how it came to be now, and some great emotional moments. I can't wait to see what reviews and projects you come up with next for this channel and the TAS Productions channel.

All I can say is that in my opinion, this is one of the best reviews you’ve made! The fact that you reviewed your own fan series is honestly something I don’t think anybody else has done before. Correct me if I’m wrong. Regardless, this review kind of changes how one of my friends views this series. Believe it or not, after he downloaded as much of VTA as possible, he was actually going to do a video as to why it was great, even with all its issues. But since you did it, he doesn’t have to. One thing I don't think you mentioned is that the characters in this series poke fun at tropes, kind of like what you yourself do. Heck, I remember my friend quoting some of the episodes back when it was online. One of the things I remember him saying was "How dare you feed me anchovies!" Despite all the good stuff, I understand how you feel about how the show progressed. Considering you planned the whole series from beginning to end back in 2015, you really knew how to subvert expectations for the viewers, if you can call it that.With the rabid fans, my friend was also wondering when some episodes would come out, but he was not one of those fans. He just liked the show because of how weird it was, but he was still interested in what you were gonna do next. And when it came to episode 25, especially with how it ended with the Pirates now knowing why the show turned out the way it did, he was really excited for how the final episode would play out. To this day since he still has it saved in a file folder on his phone, it still gives him feels. Also, you doing the voices of the characters here is laugh out loud funny! Thank you so much for making this series and give many people permission to download as much as they wanted to keep their memories of the show with them. And since my friend is one of them, he can't thank you enough, and we both respect how you feel about the show. You're really great with all the stuff you make!
Back on your old channel at the time when VTA was taking over because of the rabbids, you said that it tainted your view on the actual VeggieTales, making you unable to bring yourself back into watching it. If I misinterpreted that, please forgive me. This may seem a bit random, but in a way, at least in my opinion, the situation you were in at the time is kind of like what happened with Chris Savino when he got fired from the Loud House. According to TV Tropes in their own words, Chris stated that following his firing from the Loud House, he cannot bring himself to watch the show anymore, especially post-firing episodes, and that the very idea of watching his show that he's no longer involved with is too depressing for him. It may not be exactly the same, but I hope you understand and I also hope this doesn’t offend you in any way, shape or form.
I wasn’t really into VeggieTales Abridged I don’t think I even watched a full episode of it, I was more into Live and Reloaded. But I’m glad you ended the series when you did cause you were being harassed, and being told you shouldn’t make reviews and make the abridged series only that’s sad, cause once you aren’t having fun making something anymore then what’s the point. I will support anything you do even if isn’t VeggieTales related and will continue to do so in the future… Cheers.
VeggieTales Abridged was a fun series to watch on RUclips. I enjoyed how the series introduced the Puppet Master storyline, since I love watching chronological stories in TV and movies. I'll never forget those times predicting what each new episode will be about. Such as the re-cast video, where I thought Bob and Larry are trapped in the tower from King George while Jimmy and Jerry run the show. The latter episodes were much more memorable in terms of said storyline above. Glad to see you branch out to new projects Trevor. Keep doing what you love.
Hallo, Trevor, Qwerty/BuzzSaw Louie here. Just now got around to watching this. Could not agree more with that last message. If I may present an example from my own life: RUclips's always been sort of an addiction of mine, getting in the way of real life every now and then. I had to stop uploading videos for good right around when rona started. It's helped a good chunk, I've been doing a lot better since then. I don't remember a whole lot about my time with VTA, or VTLnR, or that other project, but in hindsight I'm glad I've gotten to work with you regardless. I totally understand why you're moving on from VTA. You gotta put you first, my guy. Much respect and best of luck to you in your walk of life

While Im here in this comment section I figured some things should be cleared up. The anonymous Dad-Asparagus-playing individual is not actually the one who was the editor for episodes 5-10, that was me. The production behind episode 11 on my end was a very interesting one, because for the first 5 episodes my whole process was something I could only complete on specific weekends when I was at my dads house, and with it being a beefier episode in terms of content it was hard to find time to just sit down and dedicate myself to editing the whole thing in one sitting, especially since at the time i was also branching out into animation and working on projects for other people. I eventually did get my own laptop for usage away from my dad's house, and I was making good progress editing the episode, only for me to lose everything when my hard drive fried and I had lost everything. I still feel guilty about it looking back and I know I wound up fueling the Rabbids with these life circumstances beyond my control, but hey, its all in the past now. I started editing for the series when I was 11 and In 6th grade, and now Im 18. VTA is something thatll always hold a special place in my heart because of it being one of the first projects on a seperate channel I ever worked for, and now Ive been credited in several projects on channels with over 1 million subs, and I largely have this show to thank for helping me build the courage I needed to reach out to people and offer to help other people with their stuff

Going into this, I thought this would be the usual common story. We make something we thought was funny at the time, only to regret it as we got older out of embarrassment or whatever the case.
In your case, the experience you faced must've been traumatic to deal with, and I can only wish my condolences to you, as someone who thought the series was something worth watching. Note, WAS worth watching. I tried auditioning once for the sake of getting myself out there, put two and two together, and accepted that it wasn't meant to be.
I knew eventually you'd grow tired of making this, but this whole video was an eye opener to what happened behind the scenes.
Your message at the end is something I've always advocated for. Live for you, and always remember that your health and wellbeing take full priority. Don't stress yourself too hard or you'll find you won't have much fun making the stuff you want to.

I first remember seeing your Moral Orel videos on this channel, and your Drawn Together Movie review recently came up on my feed.
"Hey wait a minute... this guy sounds really familiar..." was what first came to mind. Then it dawned on me.
Watching this really put some things into perspective. Glad to see you're still making content outside of VeggieTales.
Glad the source material I chose for my future abridged series is more niche than a show that gives attention to rabids. Overall this is a pretty interesting troubling history of a abridged series.
The edits of the older episodes were so hilariously bad like they just stutter as they speak and heck my editing is so much better when I first made a video that has voice acting. Some of the moments from VTA were funny but that was because it's the first time seeing them and even the edits by your editors were extremely funny. Also It's weird that a out of all of things you picked for the anime portrait was Mirajane from Fairy Tail lol
Your voice impressions in VeggieTales in general is mostly accurate especially with the characters voiced by Phil Vischer.
1:21:31 as much as it was a chore to get through the portion of VTA in which I joined I'm at the very least thankful that it helps cross off a bucket list thing of mine. And that was being able to voice as Khalil in some way, shape or form.
Ah. VeggieTales Abridged. Odd times. But believe it or not, you kind of inspired me to do ShapeTales in the first place. Heck, your Larry voice was the voice I used for Alvin (in Take 38), Melvin Cylinder and even one of my characters on this channel. I like to think of this as like a Greek tragedy. While I was a fan of both the Abridged series and Live and Reloaded, I understand the pain you went through with the rabbids and such and understand why you ended it. Stay strong, dude. Fan of your work. 👍
As someone who was never big on veggietales and knows nothing about vta, what you said about it having to stand on its own separate from veggietales makes perfect sense, as im someone that became a diehard dragonball z fan after watching dbz abridged first
This was a very insightful and gripping video. I loved hearing your journey through creating this series, even felt emotional over hearing how much it took a toll on you. I discovered you through this current channel (the "Other Dad" video if you're wondering), and I'm glad that you are happy with where you are today! I haven't ever seen VTA, since I first saw you as Media Mementos.
This was one of the most inspiring videos I have ever seen.. Especially the finale.. Man, thanks for making this video. All your experience and your sincerity was very worth watching it.

I started watching the show around the WTLN era and I really liked it. I had now idea of the inner turmoil that happened behind the scenes aside from the why I stopped watching VeggieTales video you made and a rabbit I saw on the last episode. I'm glad your onto other projects and away from a toxic viewer base!
As a Rabbids fan, I do agree the Rabbids CAN get a bit TOO annoying.
I never saw this series, and I fully respect your decision to have taken it all down. But I’m so sorry, 54:34 made me laugh so hard!

I got this video recommended to me just on a random video essay kick, and I have to say, even though I was never or will never be around for any of VTA's existence, the story of doing something out of passion only for it to explode spontaneously hit really close to home. I ran what was basically an interactive story based on a web series that was super-popular in 2020, to the point where people in the web series' tag would complain about how much discussion around my thing was clogging it. From one niche instance of internet micro-fame to another, it's nice to see someone who also understands how even smaller communities can create these armies of rabid fans that just keep taking and taking. Sometimes it felt like looking at myself in a mirror LOL- either way, it's cool to see that you're making great content to this day and was able to overcome the constant demand to only create what makes you popular
figured i'd give my two cents on my experience with VTA
i remember when i first saw it when it was relatively new, and i decided to give it a watch
needless to say, i got bored partway through, and ignored the rest of the series after that
it wasn't until i think around the time the Josh and the Big Wall episode did i give it another go, and i genuinely enjoyed that episode, so i decided to stick around to see what came next
some time later, i saw that you put out an audition call for upcoming episodes, and i immediately jumped the chance, and auditioned for Rumor Weed and Esther, both of whom i got the roles for
as for how i did looking back, i LOVED my Rumor Weed performance, and if ever given the chance i'd do it again
Esther on the other hand, i wasn't to fond of, and i'll readily admit that my recording of her for the finale(assuming it made it in, i actually didn't see it, oops) was phoned in, mostly because i was going through a lot of shait at the time, and didn't have a good mic
now as for DDDz, i'll admit in hindsight that it probably wasn't the best idea to throw it in VTA, given all the people that wanted similar treatment(and some internal drama that i won't go over since it's long been dealt with), but it at least gave our show a bit more exposure
we actually had at least one person say they found our stuff through that crossover, so there's that
overall, while my time with VTA was brief, i still enjoyed about 75% of my time there, including meeting you, and i wish you best of luck with your future projects

I actually have a somewhat similar story…
On my Old Channel (which no longer exists, BTW) I had a series called “Logo Bloopers”. It was based on a series of videos popularized by Davemadson. I actually gained a bunch of popularity because of the show.
However, I wanted to go into a different direction with my channel (that being Drifting Away from Logo Content and start developing Animated Shorts.) So, I cancelled Logo Bloopers around early 2019.
A lot of people respected my decision. Unfortunately, A lot of people did not get the memo. These people (or rabbids as you put it) wanted me to bring back the series and fulfill their requests, but the decision was made.
Now, what did I think of my “Logo Bloopers” series. Well, I kinda grew a distaste for it. The characters were poorly drawn, the editing was bland, and I saw no entertainment value in it.
Overall, I like this video. It’s informative and I can see a lot of points you wanted to go with about your series.

Oof, now I'm glad that I never got any rabids when I was making videos during the pre-Extreme Wreck 2000 RUclips channels I had. I still don't have any rabids invading me BTW lol.
I’ve never been and will never be in the logo community, but i respect your decision that you have made. I bet you have done better things since that. But I’ve always wondered what the show was like. Do you still get rabbids to this day? Do you plan on making it again?

As for the other things you mentioned, I have since been working in Animation (Like I have been planning on,) and I created two Comic Series' "People are Crazy" and "The Bowl-Ders." So, you can say I have made a name for myself.
Regarding the "Logo Bloopers" series, imagine the humor of PPG 2016, but even more cringe-inducing. That's basically what it's like. And No, I don't have as much rabbids today as I did back in 2019.
Also, No, I will not be making another version of Logo Bloopers, thank you very much.

I did 14 episodes of Logo Bloopers, but one of them became “Lost Media” (The Hallmark one.) So, I did 20th Century Fox (Twice,) Konami, and Capcom. Just to name a few.
I remember first hearing about your previous channel partially through looking up the Brothers Grunt and partially from being exposed to VeggieTales Abridged by VeggieTales YTP creators.
I remember hearing about it through Billy back in the day (we’ve been friends since 2015) since he lent his voice to a few characters (George in this case). I thought it was pretty neat at the time

Well the ending is unfortunate considering it’s basically now lost media that will never resurface due to fear of DMCA. Never watched the show but I’m a huge fan of trying to find Lost Media so the ending does sting especially the way you worded it
Well I mean, if it's for respect then I think it's best that the rest of the Lost Media community doesn't find out about this(I'm part of it too). Kind to think of it, I think LevelEngine should also privatize(wait, no, DELETE because not even HE shall see it ever again) his "RSD Game-Maker Binge" series because that makes me feel icky.

I had no idea what this was I watched the entire video anyway it's interesting to hear a content creator talk about their previous works.
Hey, Trevor! I dunno if you heard the news, but I recently revealed that I am WTLN. Now that that's been out in the open for a little bit, I have a few select words about my experience:
First off, I just wanna say that there aren't really a lot of things I did in VTA that I look back fondly on [especially the fact that I made every episode 60fps], and I've always felt like I was part of the reason the rabbids got as bad as they were. I desperately wish I took more time to polish the episodes out instead of rushing to get them out as fast as possible, because I clearly didn't have a good sense of timing back then.
Listening to both this and the commentary of this video you did, I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about Episode 24. Even as I was editing that one, it just felt like every scene went absolutely nowhere, and I don't blame you for hating that one. Definitely my least favorite of my batch of episodes.
The only things I did in VTA I'm still proud of are Post-Game, and [ironically] the Illinois segment in VTA Summer Vacation. The latter got the exact reaction I was going for 😅
Even though I've mostly put large-scale editing behind me, it was such an honor to be a part of one of your projects, and although I rarely think about VTA nowadays, I still enjoy going back to those old VT L&R food specials you and Kyle did every now and then. Seeing how much this channel has grown since then is incredible, and I can't wait to see it continue to grow from here!
As someone who did pester you about how to download the episodes on a livestream a while back, I truly am sorry and really regret acting like that. I was entitled and selfish in a situation that I was not reading whatsoever. I haven’t had this sort of experience before in terms of stress related to something I made, but I understand your emotions and why you did what you did completely. I did find you through VTA and did enjoy most of it. I still do in all honesty since I kinda like how stupid it is. At the same time, I think tunnel vision isn’t a good way to view these situations and I think a bit of that Rabbidness got to me even for a brief moment. In all honesty, it was for the best that you cut off this weight to allow yourself to not be pulled down by all that the show gave. I understood that at the time, but I guess my attachment for the show got the best of me for the moment and I truly do regret acting that way. I hope that, whatever your working on now, that you are much happier and feel less pressure. Again, I really want to apologize even if the one moment I pestered you probably feel into the sea of obnoxiousness. That’s the internet for you I suppose, not being considerate and just focusing on the content rather the people making it.

i feel even if i had known the show existed back in 2017 not sure if i would have watched it as besides dbz abridged i was pretty much done with abridged series as a whole.

Seriously though. Good episode! So I've watched exactly 1 of your videos before this. Never heard of vegetable abridged at all. This video started auto playing and I just didn't turn it off, then got hooked! I think your story is similar to allot of RUclips's at that time. That being said, glad you found a new video style that you enjoy!!!!
I never watched VTA but it looked pretty interesting and funny. Even the quotes that you mentioned made me laugh pretty hard. I didn't even know an abridged version of this show existed until now.
One thing I did notice was that you mentioned other bridged or abridged shows like Pokémon Bridged which I DID watch when they were still making episodes. The voice you use for Larry sounds practically identical to the voice 1Kids (Mike) used for Ash. I was just wondering if you ever watched Pokémon Bridged and if that Ash voice is what inspired the voice for Larry for your Abridged series?
I guess you could say we were going down a rabid hole, eh? Seriously though, rabid fans as you would call them are a serious problem with ongoing series and whatnot. It causes the creator to second guess themselves and create missed opportunities that would only escalate the situation. Rabids are toxic and have no place in the fandom. How do you think Sonic had such a hard time in the 2010s? Ranting aside, I'm glad you can roll on in peace.
I'm a few weeks late to seeing this, but I wanna give my own thoughts on VTA.
I started watching the show pretty late into its production, in early 2019. As a big VeggieTales fan myself, I really enjoyed VTA. I thought most of it was really funny. Some of my favorite episodes actually are some of the ones that your rabid fans hated, like the recast episode. I was really invested in where the show was going.
But knowing the full story, I can completely understand why VTA ended and why you're not a fan of it. I unfortunately forgot to download the episodes by the time you took them down, but I always enjoyed watching VTA when it was around. Occasionally, I'll find myself quoting some of the show. I hope you feel a lot better about the content you make now, Trevor.

I swear, this reminds me of my own RUclips web series I did like Object Roy, & Super Ultimate Bloopers, except I don't think anybody saw those other than like, 8 people. The latter wasn't even available on RUclips anyway. Not to mention I don't even have them anymore. They're just completely lost at this point.
I can seriously do a 3 hour video on all the series I did back in the day just from my memory alone. At least it ain't something that you regret... unlike some other person out there, I won't say any names because that's for another time. Trust me, it's horrid. Sure, this series is awful too & I'm so glad it's no longer around, but trust me, there's something far more horrid out there that would definitely be something anyone would regret making.

I watched a bit of VTA but not a whole lot, I thought some of the episodes were funny (my favorite at the time being Willy Wonka and the Clever Boys), but I mostly stayed around for your reviews instead.
And jesus, from watching your old Goodbye VTA video I knew the whole situation with the "rabbids" was bad but I didn't know it was THIS bad. I'm glad you did the right thing for your mental health by just ending the series, and I'm really sorry about all the harassment you got for not doing things exactly how they wanted.
I had a similar experience with Rabbids but instead on Deviantart. They kept walking over me and harassed me whenever I put my foot down.That account is now shut down. Glad I’m not alone in these kind of experiences.
I can't blame you for being done with the series after all that had happened. But at least something good did come out of this, as this led to the creation of Media Mementos

As someone who wants to abridge an anime i feel like this is a cautionary tale. I haven't watched it all and probably will not. Not because I am a fan of vta its becuase i have never heard of it till now. But i will give the vid a chance one day but today is not that day. But i hope your old fans will understand why you quit.

You should have auctioned off the rights to the series. Let the rabids have it, but make them pay you to experience the pain they made you feel, it would have been karmic justice. Just the universe giving those people a big fat middle finger as their community cannibalizes itself.

If I had a nickel for every viral internet show taking too long for a single episode to come out due to reasons out of the creator’s control, to the point where the rest of the episodes were released before the delayed episode eventually came out, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

Man! I never realized how bad that series you used to make impacted you! And those demanding fans just made it worse for you (the ones that you called “rabbids” in this video). I, myself, was probably one of those “rabbids” back when I was like 12 or 13, but I’ve matured a lot more since then, since I’ve realized that videos take time to make, and I’m 20 years old now! But now, I’ve recently seen more “rabbids” getting very angry at Mike Salcedo because he hasn’t released Episode 2 of Number Lore yet (you may not know Mike Salcedo, but he’s a RUclipsr who does some cool animations), they think he promised he would release it in April, but he didn’t. That was just an _estimate!_ They need to understand that! I’ve literally seen them send comments like *”RELEASE NUMBER LORE EPISODE 2 RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”* to him! No joke! And those “rabbids” of his are mostly all little kids, probably like 6 years old or so, maybe 10 at oldest, but that is NO excuse to literally _rage_ at a guy for not releasing a video at the estimated time he said! He may have important stuff going on in his life! His life does NOT depend on just making Alphabet Lore and Number Lore! You probably felt the same way Mike Salcedo is probably feeling right now when those “rabbids” are demanding something to be released right when they want it to be released, and that is stressed and annoyed. And if I was one of the “rabbids” of this old series of yours back then, I sincerely apologize.
