The industrial area on that side of the road was redevelopment of the Manor Iron Works. Assortment of aerial photos available on Historic England. Manor Iron Works dates to 1878 and owned by Stephen Thompson and Co manufacturing tin and steel sheets. In 1904 acquired by Joseph Sankey and Sons. In 1919 acquired by John Lysaght of Scunthorpe and operated as GKN Sankey.
DJ videoed Lysaght's Orb Works in Newport previously and many auditors visited the Normanby Park industrial estate, Scunthorpe, also a Lysaght steel works.

Reminds me of the 3 months I spent in Royal Leamington Spa, in 1984 aged 17. Leamington was a lovely place. the people's accent was a drone. Social life was slow and tedious.
