This guy will be even more amazing if he slows down and focuses on details that rookies would never know. For example, 1:52 - "Let's start by deleting this window here..." How?
like so many have said, thanks so much for a video that doesn't spend 4 minutes on a logo/intro and telling us why the video is going to be great. This is fantastic
First of all, this tour for beginner is whirlwind and super-sonic. That means my mind is spinning and I'm not comprehending the great information you wish to convey. All information must be sorted, catalogued for future reference, embossed with pre-known facts and experience, and you hardly give me time to breathe!
1. The various 'Smart Tempo' modes and also their interaction with flex commands. 2. Editing Drummer tracks. (Personally, I'm not working with other midi instruments too often.). In general - more in depth on ANY Logic Pro X function - (except midi.) The EQ's, compressors... Automation...
Would love to see the same thing you did here but a more "advanced" tutorial, and/or tips you use to make your workflow quicker and more effective. I was happy to find some new tips in this beginner tutorial though I've been using Logic for years. Thanks for the great high-quality videos! (And I don't mind that you move quickly in these videos. Apparently people don't know how to use the Pause button. I think your tutorial was easy to digest and WAY more entertaining than those dull Logic tutorials out there now. Keep up the good work!) Btw... still waiting for that orchestra tutorial, man. ;)
To all new people here, including me! When he shows, always go in Logic and do it by your self, otherwise you are gonna watch the whole video and will say ''but I learned nothing here''! practice is the KEY!
This video is perfect. It has no clickbait. It explains the whole 9 yards and you’re not rambling about bullshit the whole time. Thank you. I greatly appreciate this.
This is a speedy overview and more geared towards people who have experience and need a refresher. For me, it's exactly what I needed after returning to Logic after a long hiatus. Thanks!
I need your help please.i am working in logic from last 10 days.i can't cut region properly.i become short or more from grid.i have checked out everything but I am failed.what is main problem? Will u explain please.
Click on the "Snap" dropdown box in the upper right hand corner of your main arrange window. Make sure "Snap to Grid" and "Smart" are selected. That should hopefully solve your problem.
I've been using Logic for many years now, even before Apple bought it from Atari. I watched this video just now as it came up as a suggestion. Even after so many years of doing this, I still learned a couple things i didn't know.
I think I realized the issue with this video. This comes up when searching "logic pro x beginner tutorial" and this is not really for true beginners. The title doesn't really say that either, but a warning would help beginners know this covers the basic good to know, not necessarily how to and direct beginners to a more broken down step-by-step series.
I’m a beginner but i prefer learning this way, recorded quick tutorial, the basics, then i will continue learning by applying what i’ve learned and trying new things, then if i’m blocked in something that i can’t find how to do it, and doesn’t exist in the quick tutorial, i’ll search the specific thing in details, so for people like me this video is helpful
This video is pretty helpful , for me I rewinded it constantly an took notes , completely worth it. He spoke a bit fast but as long as I can rewind an slow it down I was able to catch exactly what he was teaching us about Logic pro x
Jack Gonsalves I agree. A little too spastic for my tastes. The attention deficit is no doubt the reason for so much bad music being created not only here, but in every home studio these days. 😂
Thank youuuu Rob! I'm just getting into Logic to produce some electronic soundscapes for a podcast project at school and this tutorial has been totally helpful!
I've been using Logic for a while but just trying to figure it out on my own. This is a really helpful overview. Yes he goes fast but I like that. It works for me. Thanks guy.
Learned a lot, but do agree with other comments... material is presented far too quickly for most beginners to catch it all. I found it was better watching on x 0.75 or x 0.5 playback speed to keep me from having to pause and rewind so much. Only problem is that listening to it that slowly makes it sound like he’s stoned! 😂
Thank you so much! This is so clear and concise and gave me the courage to just go in and start. For all those saying its too fast, just go back and watch again. The beauty of the rewind button. Thanks again!!! Much appreciated.
As someone coming from Fl to logic, well actually logic to fl to logic (had a logic class in school but always skipped) I can say this wasnt too fast paced, it kept my attention, I just needed help getting used to the ui and work flow of it, for someone who has never been in a daw I can see how this could of been too fast for them, but for me it was perfect lol.
AWESOME VIDEO! I have to let you know how much I appreciate you bruh!! Your free training course open doors for me!! So much value! Just a simple gain staging adjustments before actually mixing and level matching amongst other tips you discuss, my mixes has JUMPED 200% Also helping me with the learning curve with logic! Would it be ok to do a testimonial video paying you some gratitude on helping me and offering training!? You ROCK bruh and you stay consistent never leaving us hanging! I APPRECIATE ALL THE VALUABLE CONTENT YOU PROVIDE!!! THANX AGAIN!
I’ve had logic on my MacBook for ages but was always too lazy to learn how to use it,and carried on using Garage band. Now I’m on lockdown so guess I can start learning 😉 thank you for this!
Fast paced. LOTS of good info. Will definitely be reviewing this video a couple of times. Never been a Logic user until I recently started using Logic Pro for iPad. Some similarities between the two apps, makes learning the Mac version a bit easier.
I started this video, watched for a bit and noticed it was kinda switching perspectives a lot. Then I saw the skip ad button. It was a logic X ad on a logic X video telling me how it works so I genuinely thought it was the video XD
It's always amazing seeing these videos in which the guy uses a normal resolution. I have my MacBook Pro set to use full 2880x1800 resolution and my desk has a 4k monitor, and it gives me so much more space. I couldn't deal with having everything taking up so much room on my screen. So claustrophobic,
i liked the video i feel more comfortable trying to tackle logic now. you have to approach this video with patience and rewind it a few times if you have to
Thank you. That was perfect. As far as what I would like to see next (if you haven't already) is: what's up with the way the takes are stacked and how to select/delete/organize rows of takes. Thanks!
I am getting logic but only want to use for vocals . I will not be making any instrumentals as I’ll download them online . I’m guessing I’ll just have to upload the instrumental , record my vocals then learn how to mix and master ?? Know it won’t be that straight forward just want to put all my effort into learning how to do this
been using logic for a week and its alot.. it makes me want to go back to gb.. because its takes so long to do even siimple thing... but im just trying to remember its a learning curve
Amazing tutorial. Great job. As a music teacher, I admire the way you proceed step by step to make understand interestingly. I never miss your video. Thank you very much.
Thanks for a great tutorial Rob as I try to come back to using Logic for a Uni music project, and also your title of Musician on a Mission ('cos I am too and it's encouraging), and your end motto; 'Create regardless', I didn't know I needed to hear that but I know I've got too nervous having got out of the habit of using Logic this year and I need to just try and try and try again, especially as I'm 51 and my memory challenges me at times.. so making time to practice and stay uplifted and motivated is a learning curve where I need to join the dots toward clarifying my goals ahead of Uni projects, and make sure I value them and make time for them every day too..
Excellent first timer overview Rob though I think you could have cut to the chase and just showed how to get audio and midi in and start recording before introducing all of the other features as they don't mean anything until you get into the thick of it.
Good video. Why is it better to use bounce when finishing the project? The software I've used before is usually just export audio as a wav, mp3 or whatever. Just wanting to know what the big difference is?
I love these tutorials. I have been eating them up! More useful detail than anywhere else. I would love to get access to the cheat sheets that are talked about in all the videos, but can only get access to the promo video. What's the secret?
thanks for your Tutorial . does it have Drum or you have to buy it? i have to use for mantra chanting. do you recommend Logic pro x for yoga music or not sure. please let me know. thanks
Great Tutorial.....you know your stuff...At 18:30 you mention, if you want to hear what you are recording hit Monitor...I didn't see what you pressed to do that.

Glad you like it, thanks for the feedback!
It was *all* banter!
He goes WAY TOO fast.

GarageBand on steroids*
Basically,
The virgin: GarageBand
The chad: Logic Pro x
The God: Nintendo labo piano game
What are the main benefits of Logic Pro X over Garageband, which I'm currently using?
@Steve thanks mate, that's useful to know.
i cannot see any different from logic pro to garageband :D it's almost same UI =D
I love that it is so similar to GarageBand. I learned everything on GarageBand so this is wonderful on Logics part.

This is really beginner... This is exactly what I've learn at Uni in 3 weeks at MIDI Production course... so, isn't so bad, it's really the basics...
Great short tutorial! Just switched to Logic from Ableton after years and this was super helpful to see where certain things were.
