It's on iPad as well. It's nice like a remote control for your daw that you can fully mix in but the plugins all look cheesy when you pull them up. If you have an Apple computer you can mirror your monitor on your iPad too. Then it's just like a touch screen monitor.
Nice vid as usual! And just a little "extension" on your volume curve automation. (At least this is how i do it and find VERY helpful). Never ever automate the actual volume. Insert a gain plugin instead, and automate that. This way, you keep the full controll over the volume fader even after you have "automated the volume".
I've been veiwing your content for a few years now and I just wanted to say I absolutely love your videos Nathan. They are comprehensive, have Great structure, are to the point (and without any unnecessary fluff), and are cleanly edited. I love the minimalism. After all, less is more. On a platform filled with so many of these content creators, it's great to find one you click with. But also who genuinely cares about sharing knowledge. It shows, and so does your hard work, so thank you!
If you record into a take folder, and right click the comp, you'll have the option to "Unpack to new tracks" and that will create the tracks for you, but with the plugins you had on the original strip. Great video!
After years I switched from Windows to Mac. Now I use Reaper and Logic. Many of the moves that come naturally to me in Reaper were unnatural in Logic. You've saved me a lot of time learning things in Logic! 🙏 Thank you Nathan
Omg. Tip 6 blew my mind. I don’t play any instruments well enough to record, but I can sing and have so many ideas. I found it so daunting to do it the slow way. Thank you!! Subscribed.
Another great video with a ton a value Nathan! My big takeaways are 1. The Logic Remote wow is that gonna help a ton for recording vocals like you said. 2. Converting audio into MIDI. I play keyboard but what a quick an fun way to get an idea into your daw to starting working. 3. The catch MIDI setting. It’s always bother me that MIDI doesn’t play unless it’s starting on the MIDI note. Thank you for highlighting this feature! Hope you have a great day!
The metronome division for slow tracks is an absolute game changer, thanks so much! I'd previously been downloading double time click tracks and adding them as a track to Logic, haha.
I don’t use Logic, neither do I have a Mac 🖥 (wish I did) but I’ve learnt a lot from your videos. Thank you for helping us grow 🙇♂️. Much love ❤️ from Nigeria 🇳🇬
Extremely useful for me as I knew only one tip quite well, especially as I am recording a lot with MIDI. Tips about e. g. Latency, Logic Remote, well all of them are really great, but: as I‘m not sitting at the computer I‘ll have to watch them a few times respectively go to the computer and go through them. The very first will probably be tip number 8 that I‘m going to adjust! Super, super. Thank goodness, Nathan is out there in the universe.
As a beginner with Logic, many of the terms you are using are beyond me, but I think this was a great video. It has motivated me to try a couple of your tips for my own personal projects. Thanks and keep on sharing your wonderful knowledge.
hey man cant thank you enough. i tried to change the buffer and was frustrated i just did that low latency monitoring and it sounds on time everything is smooth. God bless you brother
This right here is gold. You and these some and more have made making music without formal training for a complete beginner an achievable dream. NathanL SanjayC AndrewH Seids ...
Quick Sampler was the sampler I've been waiting for. Coming from the MPC Workflow days it's just such an easy workflow. Good stuff man. Metronome was a new one I haven't used.
I know a lot of pros use pro tools as their DAW but to me logic is that perfect balance of user friendly and capable of advanced features And it’s why I’d tell any musician whose interested in a new computer to get a mac
If you right click the empty space at the top next to the metronome you can customize the tools in that space and add the low latency mode toggle. It is really helpful to be able to just click it on and off like you would with the metronome instead of going into the menu to find it!
Every time I watch one of your videos I learn soooo much. Thank you very much for sharing all your insides and knowledge. This is just awesome! Blessings from Germany.
Tremendous gratitude to you for sharing so much knowledge with me and many others, Sensei Nathan! Would you please teach us the basics of what mastering is and your recommended steps to take with a completed mix before releasing it?!
Just found your channel today and I enjoyed the Logic Pro tips you shared. All of them were really useful. Some of them I never knew existed and I’ve been using Logic for yonks. Cheers mate. Awesome stuff and I’ve subscribed.
Thanks for the great tips. Tip number 10 has ended my midi misery of the last few years. I really didn't know that was possible and it really bugged me. Thanks for your commitment.
1) and 7) are life-changing by themselves! I always used the pitch tune plug-in in Logic 7 to do something similar to 7), but this way is much smoother and easier. Amazing, thank you!
@@allseven5177 it's a bit finicky in my experience, often takes a few tries to get the sampler options to pop up. Try dragging it into the bottom left-hand portion of the track header, right on the edge of the track divider. Definitely doesn't work consistently though. Same issue with Option-drag to create a duplicate track with duplicate regions, it's tempermental!
An easier way to add volume automation to a synth track is to use the synth’s built in LFO and apply it to the volume (sometimes they call it amplitude). If you do that you’ll have many waveforms to choose from including a perfect sine wave.
As a drummer who likes to record my own drums for the articulation and dynamics I HAVE to use both the low latency button AND a low 64 IO buffer size. This helps get the best possible translation for electronic drum kits drummers.
If you just played something but you didn't record it, hit shift r because psych, its always recording. Youre welcome
WHAT
You deserve a lottery for this
a friend just showed me just a few days ago, sooooo good!
HOLD ON
спасибо бро🤜🏼🤛🏼
As a drummer who records his own takes I can’t thank you enough for telling me about logic remote. You sir, are a life saver.
I believe it is only on iPhone? Is it free and officially ? Or 3rd party? I can not check because i am not an iPhone user :(
@@jazzybeeff possibly! I have an iPhone...

Wow holy shit, that is such a good idea!! I’m always hesitant to automate for this exact reason 😂 thanks so much!
@@FuqqKd No problem at all my friend! 👊
Thanks for that comment, very true
Great idea
Logic actually has this built in, it’s called relative volume and it’s under the main tab signified by a plus-minus sign
That tip about changing vocals into midi is so useful!
it blew my mind!
Exactly!
Every time I watch one of your tips videos I walk away with my mind blown. Everything you shared except the metronome settings was new to me. Thanks!
💪💪 love it!
Possibly the BEST video I have seen in a LOOOONG time! Outstanding value!

All of these are awesome, as a composer the Chase MIDI is something I’ve been frustrated about for friggn years !! Thank you!
After years I switched from Windows to Mac. Now I use Reaper and Logic. Many of the moves that come naturally to me in Reaper were unnatural in Logic. You've saved me a lot of time learning things in Logic! 🙏 Thank you Nathan
1 year later I listened to it/ watched it again. It was necessary as I had forgotten things. Very helpful and useful!
That automation curve trick is nuts. I was like "huh that synth already sounds good" but adding that curve made it so cinematic!!! So cool
You saved me a lot of time with that note chasing tip, didn’t know how to do that so thank you man
midi chase option just saved me 49 hours of work! THANK YOU NATHAN!
My favorite tip was tip # 7. Convert audio to midi. Can’t wait to try it out.
yea that blew my mind
Thank you for your video. It is obvious that you love what you do. It is easy to follow your tips and your joy is contagious.
Flex Pitch to Midi is the best tip ever. Thanks so much.
NICE TIPS. I've been thinking of making the step from Garageband to Logic Pro. Looks pretty intuitive!
Omg. Tip 6 blew my mind. I don’t play any instruments well enough to record, but I can sing and have so many ideas. I found it so daunting to do it the slow way. Thank you!! Subscribed.
Tip 5 is the one. No more dicking about with the horrendous 'takes' business. 'Create new tracks and mute' should be the default. Thanks for that!
Tip 7 literally made my entire week thanks so much
I didn't know 99% of these and have been using Logic for many years! this is awesome thanks for sharing!
This is by far the most useful video for Logic Pro X that I've come across. Thank you very much good sir!

It's on the way. Just believe 🙌
Thanks ! One thing also very useful is to change the instrument of the click and change it for a sound that actually sounds like a real metronome!
The Remote tip FTW! You described, pretty much exactly, the problem I always have recording my vocals. Thanks!

Logic Remote just blew my f*cking mind dude lol. Game changer! Honorable mention to cycle record options and the metronome divide function! So useful!

Wish I could double like this video - thank you so much for these. Absolute game-changing.
Finally, some genuinely new and helpful logic tips!

Thank you so much for such valuable tips 👍💚
