The pressurepoints that you get on your forehead aren't because of the thin liner. It's because the helmet doesn't fit your head shape like it should. The helmet looks cool, I checked out the stats and the protection statistics are good as well. AGV overall is a very good brand. 3:49 That's easy to forget since it's the first place where the gloves and balaclava goes after riding. I do the same, when you grab the helmet everything is together and ready to go for the ride. I'm a huge fan of the K1. I just bought another one in the Gothic 46 Valentino Rossi graphic. I did pin locks bc I found the visor to fog quite a bit. Now it's perfect.
@@UnrighteousMadeRight no, I haven't found it to be uncomfortable. The velcro on the forehead does make a bit of a pressure point, but I really do love the K1s
It's a struggle!😣😣 I've tried wearing a ski mask with it when I ride and it does help a little! Only downside is that it's not a summer friendly solution 😭
Switching from the Icon Airmada (that I've had for 3 years) to the AGV K1 with the gold pinlock. (It hasn't arrived yet) I've spoken to a few other women who have also made the change from Icon to AGV and a couple of them also had the same grievance about the forehead lining at highway speeds. My reason for moving away from Icon to AGV is because even the K1 has a better SHARP rating than most of Icon's helmets.
I'm glad you've shared your experience-I was actually interested in checking out some of Icon's helmets do it's interesting to hear from someone that has experience with their helmets. Thanks so much for commenting and watching!! Hope you like the K1 when it arrives-despite it's very minor issues it really is an awesome helmet.🙌🏻
@@ReeseRides Of course! I have the Icon Airmada in Chantilly, specifically. I love it and it's comfortable and not super noisy, but if you check out its SHARP rating against brands like AGV, HJC, Bell and even Scorpion and has some of the lowest scores which was pretty disappointing to me considering the price point. They recommend you replace your helmet every 3 - 5 years so I'm due for a new one soon anyway and was interested in AGV. I'm sad to learn the K1 is on the noisier side, I did hear that from a couple other ladies as well but I'll take your advice and get some ear plugs! Thank you :)
the biggest flaw about the K1 is that it doesn't have emergency release padding, which IMO should be standard on all helmets. that's one thing you need the MOST when you really need your helmet to save your life. it has OK room for spectacles/sunglasses. but if the arms are too thick, they don't really want to go into the helmet, despite having spectacle channels. the venting is good while riding, but one thing i found, is that if you are sweating after a hot ride, and you lift your visor all the way up at a red light or just stop, the moisture actually sometimes vents out the top front vents, fogging up your visor
This is the best explanation about this helmet thank you so much!!! I have a scorpion exor710. I had a scorpion exo r2000 but i have to replace it and wanted to stay with scorpion. Because of their fog free shield i hate the fact of pin Lock but i was about to buy one and those cons are to much for me. Thanks again sista GOD Bless you.
It would be cool if AGV could make an updated version of this iconic helmet at a similar price point within the next few years that passes new safety standards/certs like ECE 22.06 or Snell M2020. Also, I've heard that noise is just something that often comes along with higher airflow helmets.
yeah noise is because of the higher flow. i think AGV will make one soon :) all of the K1 helmets are selling dirt cheap right now so i think they might be preapearing for a new launch soon. the k1 is pretty old now.
Yeah I want a Shoei but I also don't want to microwave my head in the summer when it gets to 100 outside. I might actually switch to the K1 for the airflow. This girl's talking about losing hearing.....do people just not wear earplugs? I wear some race-grade earplugs when I go riding, even at low speeds, and I just can't imagine riding without them.
100% agree as to how it looks its 10/10. Although, I also have some of the same concerns you have about the helmet. Try using earplugs that have filters which can be changed according to how much noise you would like as it could definetly help out with the road noise/intercom. The pair I bought was around $30 and it comes with a carrying case with a clip! clip it on your motorcycle jacket and you will never forget to use them. Also, maybe using a balaclava could help you specifically with the padding problem. CHEERS
Ahhhh so helpful!!!! I'll definitely check this stuff out for sure!🤩 Having a clip for the earplugs would definitely help save my hearing from my own forgetfulness. Thanks as always Alex!!🙌🏻🎉
For the look price and quality, this helmet wins every time. Every single helmet is loud unless you have a full curtain installed and even then its still loud. You should always ride with at least basic earplugs but investing in something like nonoise brand plugs that are reusable is a good move. I also wear a thin balaclava so keeps my ears upright, earplugs in place, and eases any discomfort you my get from some of the pads. K1 also has a small chin curtain stock so its clear to me agv is trying to resolve this as much as possible. At the end of the day you’re on the motorcycle in the road, there is not helmet in this world that is actually “quiet.” And I don’t believe that spending more gets you a safer helmet because it simply doesn’t in most cases. No such thing as a perfect helmet but this one comes close. I’ve had many helmets and this one is by far my favorite and happens to be in the lower price range
I love my k1. Ik you said you get pain while riding for long periods but most the problems you explained don’t really affect me. Idk if it’s bc of head shape bc I love how it fits and it’s never bothered me. Also it’s not very loud for me for some reason. I almost always ride with AirPods in and I can head my music easily while on the freeway going 100+ and that’s considering I have a fairly loud bike
I'm glad the K1 really worked out great for you!! It's a solid helmet but it just didn't quite meet my wants/needs for the helmet, which doesn't make it bad, just wasn't quite what I was looking for as a consumer. 😄
I own a K1 too and yes it does hurt when i ride for long but not on my forehead. Instead it hurts on the sides of my head. I guess it might be just our different head shapes......Cheers from India 🇮🇳👍
Hmm about the forehead liner, I agree that it's thin but it definitely doesn't bother me or have pressure anywhere. In fact, I wished it was thicker so it felt tighter against my forehead 😅 I'm in between intermediate oval and round oval, but don't have Arai money. Being Asian is not good for moto helmets or snowboard gear lol
Thanks for making this video! Great to see a female rider reviewing ❤️ yes wind noise is a deal breaker as well as comfort as i do 1.5 hours or riding a day
It's rather upsetting how noticeable it was when I lost some hearing after wearing this helmet, I really should've listened to other people's warnings, so I'm glad it was helpful for you.🙌🏻 Thanks so much for watching my friend! 🙏🏻❤️
I have one of these! Had it since June 2019, I use a Sena 20S EVO with the slim speakers!!!! the slim speakers are sooo good they don't press on your ears at all. Also I wear glasses and they're pretty thick and they fit perfectly in the helmet.
@@chukob5 thing with helmets is that they have different shapes and som shapes just don't fit som people. that probably why she has the forehead pain because this helmet does not fit her head shape.
I had my earplugs custom made from my audiologist for 150.00. They are the best most comfortable effective solution for at least 30 db reduction and all day use.
What’s your opinion on the loudness of this helmet and the usability of the cardo for calls or pairing with other riders? Can you hear others? Can they hear you?
I am yet to pair with other riders using cardo, but just in using my cardo to listen to music and have regular phone calls, I'm still able hear well at regular speeds. At higher speeds though, I wouldn't be able to hear my cardo clearly on the highway due to the helmet letting in so much noise. The cardo does a fantastic job volume wise (definitely gets loud!) But it can't do much against the road noise. Hope that helps!
Thanks for sharing, excellent job! I was considering the K1, maybe the K3 or 5 after your assessment. I'm a small guy, 140 lbs size medium, having a really hard time finding a shell size and shape that doesn't make me look like a bobbl head. For some reason the K1 seems to appear not so big. Given your size, (you seem small) does it appear proportionate on you? Thanks again. Be safe
I'm pretty tiny, so although it does look proportionate while I'm holding it in the video, it def gives me a little bit of a bobble head look lol, but it's not bad to me by any means. I've read more than once in my comments that some people have had good luck with the K3 over the K1, so I'd recommend possibly starting there. Best of luck on your search-and thanks for watching! 🙌🏻
Hey, just curious what your head size is, and what size helmet you have?? I’m still debating getting one as I’ve heard both great things and some irritating issues. Still seems like great helmet for the price!!thx
I haven't actually measured exactly, just tried on a bunch of helmets and went from there lol. But I wear XS! I wouldn't necessarily recommend this helmet long term, but it did the job for me starting out. I know for some they love it (and I LOVE the look of this helmet) but it missed the mark for me comfort/quality wise. Ultimately, do what's best for you-and having a helmet in general is def better than nothing at all. Best of luck to you!!🙌🏻😊
So, Miss, i'm hoping to pick up an AGV too simply becoz of how the brand is going to make me look on the road haha.. among the other bikers in my city. BAAAAAAAT, now that i've seen this review i've changed my mind of the K1. May i ask what other helmets you have your eye on that would compare with the styling of this lid and around the same price range and preferably AGV... like, what have your biker friends been talking about recently? Thank you for your review : )
I like my k1. But I do agree with you. Next helmet you should get a AGV corsa next. The best helmet I’ve owned. And super quiet since the speakers go into the pad and sit right outside your ear. But yea. Go and try other brands
I'll definitely have to check out the corsa!! Love AGVs style so maybe it was just a miss for me with the K1. Interested to check out some of their other helmets as well as other brands🤙🏻
The only thing I tried was wearing a ski mask to add an extra layer, and it didn't help. My only other suggestion would be to possibly try double sided tape, or perhaps glue it into place, but the padding in mine simply seemed thin, so even gluing/taping mine wouldn't help. :(
@@MrZacattack1015 I've heard from many other riders that this is a common issue, and few of them have suggested the K3, so maybe that would be a good alternative. I've since retired my K1 after getting the Shoei X-14, and I'm in love with it. No issues with padding on the forehead, same shape too. I would explore other options before using the K1 full-time, but that's just my suggestion. Good luck on your search for a new helmet or a fix for the K1!!
Thats pretty interesting that the shape you looked into is still ok. Maybe its you as a person and you have sensitive sinus points? I was between an AGV and Something else. AGV is sexy, sleek, and I thought itd be a comfortable helmet for the wind and such. Got to try it and a Shoei and was pretty much told exactly what I felt. Do you want a Screaming sexi Ferrari 430 Scuderia or a GT Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG as a helmet? One is all looks and thrills lightweight but exposes hearing, the other has more quality to it and comfort. I decided to go comfort with a transition shield and Cardo unit. Wore it for my MSF class and even autoX track days!!! No regrets, major cooling vents, pinlock visor is beautiful, hearing is good but not too loud. Only real reason to take it off is to drink water all honesty. I agree though on money and safety. I think I dropped about $800 to build this helmet, base price, visor, and cardo with a 10% off from cycle gear.
I think it's an okay helmet starting out, but it's definitely not for me long-term. I got the Shoei X-14 and it was WEEEELLLLLL worth the money, I'm so grateful for it!!!
@@ReeseRides Id say to each their own especially what shapes are the best. It was definitely a fun process learning about them and seeing how they are all made. I knew from the beginning I wanted a Snell rated, full face, and preferably a tinted visor. I never though about BT but I was sold into it and honestly I love my Shoei RF-SR. Looking into Enginehawk jackets and SSGear pants and shoes now and a cheap 636 to pick up soon hopefully.
Thank you for this video! I was about to get this, but the wind noise and the pressure on the forehead worries me. Have you tried the K5-S? Does it have the same issues? I'm thinking of getting the K5-S after watching your review
I'm glad it was helpful to you!!🙏🏻 I personally don't have experience with other AGV helmets. However, I've heard that AGV makes loud helmets overall, so just be aware. If you have your heart set on a AGV helmet, you can look into some earplugs that just kinda dampen the wind/road noise but don't completely deafen you. Amazon has multiple options that come with a carrying case too so you can attach them to your jacket or key ring, you can try searching Noise Reduction Earplugs and you can find a lot of options.😄 (I've recently tried some out and they make wearing the helmet SO much more enjoyable and I can still hear my surroundings well!!🙌🏻) My apologies for the paragraph-but hopefully that helps! Best of luck to you!🤙🏻
@@ReeseRides I just bought the K5 S, and it is really loud! I could hear the engine itself. I thought my HJC was loud but apparently it's super quiet compared to the AGV haha. It's a good helmet to start with, but again I do recommend hearing protection, and after some time of riding it can cause discomfort due to the lack of padding around the forehead. It's a solid one to start with but I couldn't recommend it long-term. Ultimately it's up to you though.🙂 Good luck!!
@@gdr17racing51 never done a track day but riding through the twisties and highways can be *somewhat* similar. Does fine in the wind. Main thing that I could think of is riding around/next to much louder bikes. Overall it could be a good helmet to start with, but I might suggest a helmet with a higher safety rating for the track. 😄
the corsa R is a premium helmet from them. it's gonna be comfortable :) they cheaped out on the k1 meaning it only fits certain headshapes (it only has 2 shell sizes compared to the corsa R wich has 4 diffrent shell sizes meaning allot better fitment)
I did watch this video before buying my k1 a week ago but I can really feel the pressure from those thin paddings at the top. It's a lot more noticeable than I thought. Have you tried anything to mitigate this?
Closest thing I've tried is wearing a ski mask as an extra layer, but it didn't help for me. It is possible that AGV might sell "replacement" padding on their website, so maybe they have an option for something thicker than what comes stock? That's the only other idea that I have for it-but I personally have only tried the ski mask. Hope that helps!
I have one myself and only noticed during a 2 hour group ride with speeds from 35 to 75mph. Speed didn't matter, it was time and I was feeling the rub the last 30 minutes for sure. I haven't tried yet, but I can think of a few options. 1. Peel off the front Velcro and place it in a different spot to see if that helps. 2. Peel off the Velcro and don't replace it, see if you even need it. 3. Remove Velcro and put an adhesive thin strip of foam across the entire forehead to help add cushion while securing the pad. Good luck with whatever you end up trying. Edit: you said top and I misinterpreted that to mean the forehead area. Either way adding in foam under the padding might help as long as you aren't affecting the proper fit.
@@ReeseRides thanks for the reply...any issues at high speeds with the audio ? and also do you have to close/cover/block any vents when using this mic ?
@@ThePrincehAli it does make the audio sound a bit more choppy/static at higher speeds, and although I personally don't close any vents on the helmet I'm sure it would help some. Despite the audio losing a little quality at higher speeds, I definitely don't find the footage unusable-the mic still captures audio well. Hope that helps! 😄
@@ReeseRides thanks for the reply, I tried out this mic, and as soon as I start doing 60mph it really makes the footage unusable, so I’m just basically testing out mics and their position inside as well closing some vents to have better audio.

You can ride any bike with this helmet and I've seen several riders with naked sport bikes wear this helmet! This helmet (for me) was better for a shorter, casual ride at city street speeds, not for a long highway ride.

I'm a huge fan of the K1. I just bought another one in the Gothic 46 Valentino Rossi graphic. I did pin locks bc I found the visor to fog quite a bit. Now it's perfect.
Do u get that pain on the forehead when wearing it for a while ?
@@UnrighteousMadeRight no, I haven't found it to be uncomfortable. The velcro on the forehead does make a bit of a pressure point, but I really do love the K1s
"Your safety has no price".... love it!
Just bought this helmet. Straight out the box. I can feel Velcro from liner rubbing on my forehead.
It's a struggle!😣😣 I've tried wearing a ski mask with it when I ride and it does help a little! Only downside is that it's not a summer friendly solution 😭
Switching from the Icon Airmada (that I've had for 3 years) to the AGV K1 with the gold pinlock. (It hasn't arrived yet)
I've spoken to a few other women who have also made the change from Icon to AGV and a couple of them also had the same grievance about the forehead lining at highway speeds.
@@kristinLFG what’s the SHARP rating? I can’t find anything about sharp?
Got my AGV K1 since day 1 of riding :)
the biggest flaw about the K1 is that it doesn't have emergency release padding, which IMO should be standard on all helmets. that's one thing you need the MOST when you really need your helmet to save your life.
it has OK room for spectacles/sunglasses. but if the arms are too thick, they don't really want to go into the helmet, despite having spectacle channels.
the venting is good while riding, but one thing i found, is that if you are sweating after a hot ride, and you lift your visor all the way up at a red light or just stop, the moisture actually sometimes vents out the top front vents, fogging up your visor
Thanks for the info. Hi from Malaysia 👋🏻
It’s good helmet. For the price. AGV is still AGV. But I like the white color
@@joeninja1364 or you can use both depending on the situation
Have I got news for you
@@J5_95 I was about to comment the same exact thing lmaoooo
It's a entry level racing helmet, so loudness was not a design consideration.
If you want not loud sounds of wind get the Shoei
Yeah the Velcro on the forehead hurts. Simply removing it and adding Velcro further back helped quite a bit.
I just ordered one of these hoping for a helmet that fits me and doesn't have an XXL shell that makes me look like a bobblehead.
I've tried agv, I tried maybe 2 other brands and model. I am new so I don't know much. But the agv (Asian fit) felt the best in terms of fit
Me seeing this after buying it :)
Oh NICE! I've been wondering about this and was looking for a review. Thanks Reese
You probably have a wider head shape so the helmet is a bit too thin for you. You might want to look into getting a different one :)
@@MadMatt168 thanks bro 👍
@@dorson8891 yeah the cheap AGV seem to be known for that. you need to have the right headshape
Put my speakers in without taking the inserts out. Shit was tight on my ears haha
Thx for ur vid, I just bought it so let's see ^^
The pressure on the brow lining especially with glasses is punishing. I can't ride with it. Need to sell it.
I have one of these! Had it since June 2019, I use a Sena 20S EVO with the slim speakers!!!! the slim speakers are sooo good they don't press on your ears at all. Also I wear glasses and they're pretty thick and they fit perfectly in the helmet.
I’m about to buy it does it hurt your forehead like hers?
@@chukob5 The longest ride I've been on with it was about 2 and a half hours and my forehead didn't hurt
@@roundzzz sounds good that’s about the length of my rides maybe a little less thanks
@@chukob5 thing with helmets is that they have different shapes and som shapes just don't fit som people. that probably why she has the forehead pain because this helmet does not fit her head shape.

Very good review, so informative 👍👍👌
I had an HJC and let me tell you the fit for a blue tooth are night and day super uncomfortable wearing this helmet with a blue tooth
This helmet look very good on you. Thank you for the review.
i think the helmet doesnt suit u or wrong size u choose.... for me wind noise is good compare with my k6
@@ReeseRides awesome thanks for the answer. Cant wait to see more beautiful Colorado road riding content in the summer!
@@ReeseRides Thanks for your replay and advice
What lens are you using? It looks very nice!
Best of luck to you!!🙌🏻😊
What do you think about agvk5s?
Golden irridium visor, nice taste!
My K1's EPS foam moves a little in the forehead area when I press. Is it normal or is it faulty peice?
So, Miss, i'm hoping to pick up an AGV too simply becoz of how the brand is going to make me look on the road haha.. among the other bikers in my city. BAAAAAAAT, now that i've seen this review i've changed my mind of the K1. May i ask what other helmets you have your eye on that would compare with the styling of this lid and around the same price range and preferably AGV... like, what have your biker friends been talking about recently?
Thank you for your review : )
Good honest review.. Well done. Cheers
I love Ruroc now. Helmet is so comfortable. Little loud but comfortable
K1 and k3 best even for 1000cc bike

AGV 1 year warranty = garbage.
like permanent hearing damage or you mean it was just hard to hear after riding for a bit?
Right after the ride my ears were ringing-but during the winter time I noticed some hearing loss was definitely permanent. :/
How do I fix the velcro on the front pad, to stop irritating my forehead?
The only thing I tried was wearing a ski mask to add an extra layer, and it didn't help. My only other suggestion would be to possibly try double sided tape, or perhaps glue it into place, but the padding in mine simply seemed thin, so even gluing/taping mine wouldn't help. :(
@@ReeseRides I think I’m going to return it. There seems to be no easy solution. Maybe hot glue? Maybe total removal?
@@MrZacattack1015 I've heard from many other riders that this is a common issue, and few of them have suggested the K3, so maybe that would be a good alternative. I've since retired my K1 after getting the Shoei X-14, and I'm in love with it. No issues with padding on the forehead, same shape too. I would explore other options before using the K1 full-time, but that's just my suggestion. Good luck on your search for a new helmet or a fix for the K1!!
@@ReeseRides thanks for the advice! I’m gonna see if they have XS K3 in stock - otherwise I’ll need to find another alternative beginner helmet
Nice review
Also, did you buy that visor from AGV them selves or an aftermarket brand?
Visor is from AGV, bought through RevZilla!! 😄
Amazon has multiple options that come with a carrying case too so you can attach them to your jacket or key ring, you can try searching Noise Reduction Earplugs and you can find a lot of options.😄 (I've recently tried some out and they make wearing the helmet SO much more enjoyable and I can still hear my surroundings well!!🙌🏻)
My apologies for the paragraph-but hopefully that helps! Best of luck to you!🤙🏻
@@ReeseRides I just bought the K5 S, and it is really loud! I could hear the engine itself. I thought my HJC was loud but apparently it's super quiet compared to the AGV haha. Styling is great though! Lightweight as well and the lining is soft and plush. I hope I won't have the forehead pressure point!
@@JasperCarnivorecongrats on the new helmet!! The style of AGV helmets are so so good.🔥 If you ever have issues with it def let me know! I'm hoping only the K1 has the pressure issues.🙏🏻
@@ReeseRides thanks! I agree! Love the shape and contours of AGV helmets, and the hawksbill! Will definitely keep you updated! I followed you on Instagram, keep in touch!

Where do I find mirror visors for XS?
Hey great review! Im 14 and thinking of starting motorsport in motorcycles. Do you reccomend this helmet? om probablye going to ride 125cc-300cc on track so aerodynamycs do matter, but not. a hugeee deal like moto gp riders. Would you reccmoend this? again great review and ride safe!!!
It's a good helmet to start with, but again I do recommend hearing protection, and after some time of riding it can cause discomfort due to the lack of padding around the forehead. It's a solid one to start with but I couldn't recommend it long-term. Ultimately it's up to you though.🙂 Good luck!!
@@ReeseRides have u ever used it on track? Do you think it could go well on track?
@@gdr17racing51 never done a track day but riding through the twisties and highways can be *somewhat* similar. Does fine in the wind. Main thing that I could think of is riding around/next to much louder bikes. Overall it could be a good helmet to start with, but I might suggest a helmet with a higher safety rating for the track. 😄
Just get an Arai... end of story 😁
Shoei beat Arai to it😉 although I DEFINITELY want to give one of their helmets a try-I've heard such great things!!
If I wear earplugs everytime I use this helmet, do I have to be concerned about hearing loss??
Definitely not!! 😄 If you're consistent about wearing them it's not an issue at all. :)
Hey there is the corsa r comfortable for daily ride ?
the corsa R is a premium helmet from them. it's gonna be comfortable :) they cheaped out on the k1 meaning it only fits certain headshapes (it only has 2 shell sizes compared to the corsa R wich has 4 diffrent shell sizes meaning allot better fitment)
no agv pista gp rr as first helmet bye
I did watch this video before buying my k1 a week ago but I can really feel the pressure from those thin paddings at the top. It's a lot more noticeable than I thought. Have you tried anything to mitigate this?
where did you buy this helmet, i can’t get in on any website they’re all out of stock for me
Closest thing I've tried is wearing a ski mask as an extra layer, but it didn't help for me. It is possible that AGV might sell "replacement" padding on their website, so maybe they have an option for something thicker than what comes stock? That's the only other idea that I have for it-but I personally have only tried the ski mask. Hope that helps!
@@gmeista1 I bought it used. Got a really good deal on a barely used one. You might want to try it as well
I have one myself and only noticed during a 2 hour group ride with speeds from 35 to 75mph.

I highly recommend noise reduction earplugs off Amazon-I haven't done a review on them but they are SPECTACULAR.
