Honestly...I'm done. Hey guys. I'm thankful I've finally worked out my "why" behind being afraid to ride. Wholeheartedly, I've got areas I want to improve upon and I don't want to be afraid of bikes. I'm a lot like any other motorcycle enthusiast: riding has simply become a part of my identity because I love it so so much...I'm not willing to let my fears/discouragement stop me from doing what ...

This is something I DEFINITELY wanted to touch base on as I feel there are still a lot of people out there that might stress a little too much about dropping their bike...of course the damage to the bike can be upsetting, but what sticks with a lot of us is the mentality it can sometimes bring. I've heard the Fz07 is perfect to learn how to wheelie too and if you flash it, you can just pull the throttle and still get the front end up. I lol'd when you screamed from pulling your throttle 😂 caught me by surprise when I had my volume up 🤣

    @Max-pi7ri 5 часов назад

    Personally, The biggest challenge i had learning how to wheelie was getting used to the weight of the bike and throttle control. I struggled to lift my bike at first and control the throttle (Still not good at wheelies btw) My Friend actually taught me how to wheelie on his used Duke 390 and because it was light and nimble it was so much easier to lift and control it gives a massive boost in confidence Now i track day my bike often and i'm much better at throttle control so it's a bit easier now, but it does take getting used to. Just my experience tho, can differ for other people

      I totally get what you mean!! I'm VERY timid when it comes to giving it more throttle, I'm terrified to loop it haha. It'll just take time and practice. Thanks for sharing, I'll take what I can get while I'm learning!!🙏🏻😁

    I take the msf course in 9 days, soooooo nervous because I wanna ride so bad, been wanting a bike since I was 19 (I'm 25 now) and already bought my gear and already know the bike I want! I have 0 riding experience and no experience driving a manual car either. I've watched so many yt videos to get familiar with everything on the bike. Funny enough I'm not nervous about the actual riding, I have social anxiety and the fact other people will be there that's got me nervous 😩 the place im taking it at is supposed to be very small classes however. I'm trying to remind myself to just have fun with it. Here's to hoping I can come back on here and say I passed!

    • @ReeseRides
      @ReeseRides 2 года назад

      You've got this, 110%!! No matter the outcome, you're going to learn lots and do great. Don't be hard on yourself for making mistakes-and just know that everyone else there is probably just as nervous! I will say, for my class it actually felt like we became a little "team" trying to reach the same goal and we all managed to pass despite each of us making our own hiccups. The fact that you're even showing up is going MUCH further than other people do. Some people will never start because they weren't raised around bikes, so you're being brave just trying the unknown. Learning how to ride a motorcycle is SO much fun, and it outweighs the minor mistakes/mishaps. Have FUN, and enjoy the journey!!! The instructors are there to set you up for success. You'll do great I know it🙏🏻

    I’m a 5’4 man. My dream bike is an r6. And so many people have told me that it is too big for me, that if I can’t flat foot both feet then I won’t be able to control it. It’s really discouraging. I’m determined not to let it deter me. But to be honest I have never even sat on a sport bike. I used to ride dirt bikes but from my understanding sport bikes like the r6 have wide seats so it makes it harder to reach the ground. I really need to find someone to let me sit on one. There are no motorcycle dealers near me, I have no friends that ride, and I don’t know if someone selling their r6 will let me just come test fit it 😂

    • @ReeseRides
      @ReeseRides 2 года назад

      If someone is selling an R6 near you at some point, a test ride would be appropriate and I'm sure they'd let you sit on the bike and take it around the block, if they didn't, they're shady and I wouldn't trust them haha. My bike's seat height is 32.2 inches, and the R6 seat height is 33.5 inches. I've got a 28 inch inseam, and now that I'm comfortable with my CBR stock, it's absolutely doable!!! I'd take a look at your inseam, and even if it's a 29 or 30 inch, it's so doable with practice on a 33.5 inch bike like the R6. It's intimidating for a loooot of people, but don't let another person's limiting beliefs stop you. If you think you can do it, then you CAN, it absolutely takes a lot of practice and facing intimidating situations, but it is by NO means impossible. I say go for that dream bike no matter what, and even if you don't like it stock, just get some lowering links on it, make it comfortable for yourself. I actually made a separate video talking about dropping my bike and my experience behind it, and why I did NOT let it stop me. (The video is called "Why I don't care and neither should you"). Either way, best of luck to you, enjoy the journey of searching for that dream bike!🎉🤙🏻

    Hey im about to be a new rider soon taking my msg course in two days and im really excited iv been thinking about it for the past few years and around the time in your video 8:15 when your talking about you could lose your life and yes you very well could but its the same with a car just more dangerous just be careful and very hyper aware of yourself and your surroundings and you’ll be okay thats how i view it anyway any vehicle is a risk driving we just never really think of it

    • @ReeseRides
      @ReeseRides 2 года назад

      Very very true! I do think riding a motorcycle has higher risks just because we have to look for environmental hazards more closely, drivers don't look for us as much etc., but I absolutely agree. Driving cars can be just as dangerous, it's just much more normalized. Best of luck with your MSF course, it was an absolute blast and you learn a lot. Enjoy the journey my friend!🎉🤙🏻

    We've lost so many people locally this year it's really sad. I think I'm going to make a video about as well, it's getting really bad. And yeah, 95% of them are sport bikes. We just need to slow down and enjoy the ride more. oh.. the beginning of this video is funny :)

    Hi RR. If you are doing mainly solo riding, especially in some of the beautiful (but remote) Colorado countryside I've seen in your vids, please make sure that a trusted family member has access to Find My iPhone or similar. You could breakdown or have a little incident, and it helps with the cavalry arriving. I'm in the UK, so not even sure what network coverage you have out in the sticks, but hey; I have daughters and granddaughters, so I'm bang on that boring stuff.

    I'm a British Rider. I bought a Triumph Tiger this year and pulled up to a junction with panniers and a pillion. I didn't notice the small depression in the road next to my left foot. When we stopped and I put my foot down, - down we went. People rushed to help and drivers behind just waited patiently until we got back on. I was so shocked that I didn't notice the man trying to check if I was ok.I found strength to lift the bike as though I do it every day but the following day my back and hip were hurting. The upper crash-bar and pannier had tiny marks but no dents. My pillion was fine, she was strangely excited by the experience and it hasn't stopped her from wanting to ride more. I would’ve loved to see what it looked like from the driver behinds viewpoint

    A stupid mistake on a motorcycle can change your life for the worse, or end it entirely. You're young and cute . . . why risk changing that . . . avoid traffic . . . don't ride with hooligans.

    I just happenstanced across your video , I would suggest you buy a smaller cc dirt bike and really go back to basics and having fun. You will learn alot more without the added danger of the public streets. Plus dirt bikes have so much more to offer. I promise you would love what the dirt has to offer and would come back a better rider. You should start small and work your way up. Respect the machine , no matter the size.

    I decided a few years ago that I had to make the decision between liking speed and liking riding. Riding won. Peer pressure means nothing to me - "see you there then mate" is better than trying to keep up dangerous speeds. I come back from rides really relaxed now and don't have to worry about a knock at the door from the police, tickets, or points on my licence for the next week. Plus, although I miss doing them, wheelies don't really impress anyone above about 14 years old in reality. Everyone else thinks that you are a dick. Anyone can do them on a half-decent bike. Ride safe, ride long.
