    Wow, watch this until your doing it. Amazing lesson outlining the facts. This is how to play the game and not hurt your back. I've completely rebuilt my swing and now I'm smashing it. Both Power and Accuracy with all clubs. Thank you Chris...

    You present a lot of esoteric information but I have two critiques. One: Hogan moved laterally much more than you are teaching; your position at impact is much more reminiscient of Gankas' teaching than Hogan's swing IMO. Hogan moved laterally probably 6" while you show almost no forward movement. Snead is more exemplary of your motion, another great swing but different from the one you are attemping to model. Two: 7.5 ?! Really!! This is 12:01 and 15 seconds on a clock. How did you ever ascertain this number and how could anyone ever replicate such a precise amount of outward swing?

    Interesting. Supporting your point, Mr. Trevino did not believe in approaching the golf ball from straight down the line. He always approached it and his target from the right or left (perhaps 7.5 degrees). This might be why Mr. Watson referred to a perfectly straight shot as a total accident. My straightest shots seem to occur when I feel like I am rotating my body and swinging out to the right simultaneously. I hope that I interpreted your message accurately. Thanks Chris.

    Chris to me you are best instructor i have come across in RUclips for about four years.
    İ have also been doing golf videos.
    Quoting your name on my videos. Each video of yourself teaches me the answer of an unanswered question in my mind.
    As you try to explain Ben Hogan, you explain the BASİCS OF GOLF MECHANİCS.
    One big question remains in my mind about yourself is : How come an instructor like yourself has only 20B subs?
    That i don't understand. You must have millions, if you ask me....
    But at end of the day you will certainly achieve what you genuinely deserve...
    Thank you again for answering all all questions in my mind.
    İ will quote your name with pride in my videos...
    Gratefull for all your videos, you are the most talented ,not one of the best...
    İ consider myself very lucky in coming across in RUclips..

      Thank you so much for the kind words. Thanks for sharing. We all have the potential to be great ball strikers. We just need to understand how to preform the motions in a way where our minds and intentions become one. No confusion with the correct motions takes things to the next level.

    Hi Chris! if we consider the ball as a clock: a dot at 6 a.m. will be behind the ball at 7 a.m. will be the 7.5 degree? and roll in that direction? Thank you excellent! teaching

    • @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan
      @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan  Год назад

      The 7.5 is for the downswing only. It is in reference to the downswing plane. You need to be moving your body to the inside as you are going through the shot. The only thing escaping out is the clubhead itself as it passes through the ball.

    Chris - this is consistent with how John Schlee described the power plane and using the right side. It’s also consistent with Tom Weiskopf’s experience with a lesson he received from Hogan, rotating the right side. The only way I can get this to work is when I change the angle of my hips as I approach the strike. I have to decock (passively) at the same time and then … hit it as hard as I can. Flies long, high and straight. It dribbles off the tee if I don’t.
    Is this correct? Very few instructors discuss decocking. (In a double pendulum model, lag releases only during a change in direction, so it’s consistent with the physics of it anyway.) LMK. Great stuff.

    • @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan
      @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan  Год назад +1

      Yes the way you are thinking about it is correct. You have to create the acute angle change with the pelvis. The reason for this is that it turns the pelvis into a lever system, which is great because the pelvis is practically incapable of rotation.

  • @davidmcnamara3243

    You have to feel that the arms are outracing the body on the start of the downswing.
    Just before impact the body feels like its catching up, with the arms.
    Amatures release their rotational mass, far too early!!!!

    The camera angle suggests that the trail foot is turned out a bit. Is the trail foot square to the target line or the 7.5? Thank you very much

    • @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan
      @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan  Год назад

      I have a tendency to turn out my right foot. If following Hogan to a tee it would be parallel to flight line. However you need to realize Hogan did not set up parallel to the flight line ever. He did not set everything to the railroad tracks if you will. He was bias left with the upper body and would constantly open and close his stance. The 7.5 is really the downswing plane and how it needs to be attacked in the downswing.

    To tell you the rough truth you are way off since the beginning. and no not the very beginning. there is no damn way you can get that Olympic runner feel. if you are going to do any of that. or whatever it is that you have when you are teaching a sound golf swing on mr hogans level. to a point where it gets different but difficult and uncomfortable but in a way that you can overcome that. The only way to do it to be on track as human as possible. is to go back all the way back rest your mind. And dont worry You are not going to lose all that information it helps you to take a moment to take your time so it helps you process and understand even from your own mistakes to be able to come back with a better understand. more likely you need to slowly work on the right foot first and then the left foot on the down swing. but what you are doing.that is a huge problem you are having right now. everything else like how the upper body moves, the cuping, the waggle, all those previous videos that you know and you learned that from mr martin. Not going to ask why i refer to him as his sir name in the comments. But you know what im talking about mr Hudson. But theres also no reason to be like im skipping this because of uncomfort, personal reasons, or any unnecessary concerns, but for medical reasons. thats more important because you want to take care of your damn body. im no doctor at all. but right now no matter what you do. you are still in too much weight on the left foot unless you are left handed because the way you are facing front of the camera im working on that it confuses me Still. and then you are turning your shoulders with no lower body movement at all on most segments but not correctly i understand it takes a long time to edit all this in the master class all over again. but you need to refresh alot more. and that you are working really hardbon your lower body i assume. It will need a break on the rest of your future videos so it saves it for later when you have a better idea. also make sure that the visual part of the entire foundation of mr hogans golf swing comes much later. just work more on your lower body less active on the down swing. so that you will feel the left foot pressure more. and once everything you put in. especially the kicking of rhe right knee.while the left foot is stationary. then the entire right side is ready to fire at the golf ball which is not that hard at all. it just takes alot of prep bfore everything start to becomes second nature mr hudson. you can do it.
    I hope these little key points will help you see in a different perspective point of view on what is on the downswing of Mr Hogans golf swing in general
    You are stacked on the left foot on on the entire down swing and stays there
    The tilt on the left sholder helps to keep the left foot stationary.
    The Olympics runner feel is on the entire right side.
    And the extra key point is
    something falling foward
    🔼
    but dont worry about that too muchThis is only optional. This will help you last if needed most.
    You can do this mr Hudson i know you can.
    You will find it no matter how long it takes.

      Hope you have a good rest of your morning Mr Hudson
      Never think this the wrong way at all. For those that read this comment. I'm also a student of Mr Hogans legacy as well I will Never show off as anything at all I'm always learning as well regardless of experience even as a teacher same goes to everyone else that is willing to put in the work

      You are wrong about the runner feel. And you can get that feel. It has to do with geometrical modeling. It is what is happening, even if you do not understand it. Good luck to you.
